The Blackbird, Earl's Court

Had a lovely relaxed stay here from start to finish. Great location so close to the tube station, warm friendly welcome and allowed us to check in early as the room was ready. Super clean and comfortable had everything we needed. Complimentary drink at the bar was a nice gesture too. Enjoyed a few drinks in the bar. Breakfast was very tasty with good options. All staff we had contact with were very attentive and friendly. The Blackbird was such a good find and would highly recommend it as a place to stay. We would love to return. The room here was great. It was clean and comfortable. It was a typically small hotel room. The breakfast was not large but it was excellent. The pub is great for lunch and dinner too and you get a discount. This is very close to the Earl's Court metro stop too which is convenient for getting to all the popular tourist spots. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is conveniently located across the Earl’s Court tube station. The room was the only one on the floor and was both cosy and quiet, with a lovely view. Breakfast is ordered from a menu with a small buffet in addition, and was pleasant both days. I would definitely return.

Extremely friendly pub. We just popped in for a quick drink to escape the rain. Quickly served, and wish I hadn't eaten heavily earlier as the fish and chips/pies being served around us looked fantastic. I just had a Scotch egg bar snack that was served with an amazing beer mustard.

My sorority sister and I stayed here for three nights and enjoyed our time. The breakfast was really good, and the staff were professional. The Britten room was small, but adequate. I liked that it had a mini fridge and safe. I do wish the bed was a queen and not a full, but it was fine - more firm than I would have preferred, but still good. It was on a bit of a platform and took up most of the space, which caused us to stub our toes a couple of times since there’s very little space between the bed and the walls. The best thing about the room was the shower - that was great! The pipe near the dial is very hot to the touch, so that’s the only word of caution. I’ll stay here when I’m in London again. The location in Earl’s Court is excellent, and though our room was on the first floor, we heard no disturbing road traffic.

We thought this would be a nice pub to grab a drink after dinner since it was just around the corner from our hotel. Unfortunately, as soon as we walked in, the staff completely ignored us. When I went to the bar, none of the staff made eye contact or said anything to me while I was waiting. It took around 7–8 minutes before someone finally took my order. I ordered a beer and a soft drink that came in a can — they seemed to expect me to drink it straight from the can. When I asked for a glass, the staff looked a bit confused. The prices for both drinks were actually quite reasonable, but overall the experience was disappointing due to the lack of attention, friendliness, and basic hospitality.

I wanted to experience an English Pub and try the beer along with fish & chips. I was alone so it was good to observe. Great place, very friendly and helpful staff. The beer and the fish&chips was great. Plus it was value for money. The setting was great as well. Thank you, i will be back next time i am in town.

Ŵe went to this pub for the Sunday roast. It was excellent, nice roast beef and lots of veggies perfectly cooked, yummy. It is really a pity that the staff does not live up to the food's standard. They seemed to prioritise watching their smartphone over checking whether their customer are done with their Meal or whether they need another drink or dessert. But I will keep the Sunday rosat in mind.

Friendly service. The meat pies were delicious! Our server recommended the brownie and ice cream, which was the perfect finish to a delightful experience.

Food: reasonable portions with lots of options and family friendly but typical London tourist pricing (generally expensive for what you get). Service: friendly and professional, accommodating and used to tourist crowds. They are very patient and take the time to explain if you have any questions. Ambiance: cute and convenient. It is very much catered to tourists so you won't find a "local, usual pub crowd" but it's serviceable for an easy, no fuss meal.

Went in around 5:15pfor a drink and to split fish & chips as a lighter dinner to share. Service was quick and efficient, drinks were delivered promptly, and food came out quickly and hot as well. The atmosphere is relaxed, but there was a bit of competition for tables around 6pm, with some less than courteous guests grabbing a table when others were waiting first without checking in with the server on staff. If there are plenty of tables, it may not be an issue to simply take a seat, however, if tables are in short supply- best to check and make sure no one else is waiting first before grabbing the next available table. Otherwise it's a lovely atmosphere and a relaxed setting for an evening meal or gathering with company.

I had time to kill before meeting up with some friends so I stopped by The Blackbird for a beer. When in London, I have to try to hit up as many pubs as I can while I can, right? The pub had a nice upscale ambiance. It's first come, first serve on tables. FYI, you cannot order food standing at the bar when there are no vacant tables. You only can order food sitting on a table. For those who know, I'm not much of a beer drinker. Since I don't know what to order, I told the bartender to surprise me with something local. She poured me a Fuller's London Pride Outstanding London Amber Ale. It was perfect because earlier in the day, while heading to Stonehenge, we passed by their brewery. The beer was good and easy to drink. Since I had time to kill, I looked at the food menu and saw that they offered a Haggis Scotch Egg. It's a dish on my list of things to eat in London so I ordered it. The kitchen didn't take long to get it out but it took time for me to finally be able to flag down a server to order it. It was delicious and the yolk was perfect. My brief visit was good and I enjoyed the local beer with Scotch Egg.

Enjoyed the beer and overall dinner - friendly server and decent atmosphere. It was the 6:00 crowd- lots of families and small groups eating potato chips, talking, many regulars. Indifferent bartenders but not unpleasant just not engaging or gregarious in any way - may be common here in London? Food came so quick, concerned it was precooked. The fries (chips) were very good, the large portion of fish was good but non-memorable my rank would be 7/10. I am not sure what quality to expect from London bar food but this is a little better than average bar food.

I was drawn to this place because of the building. It was beautiful and unique- dropped in and had a beer and an old fashioned. Was delicious. The service was great and the beverages were good. It is a good idea, obviously to make reservations for dinner everywhere in this area.

Amazing authentic British pub! Great atmosphere food and service! We opted for the charcuterie board with local cheeses and delicious chutney.

My wife and I had Sunday Breakfast here in September 2024. It was a 15 minute walk from our AirBnB and so very worth it. The pub/inn has a traditional vibe in the interior with some modern twists. Kind of the best of both worlds. It was very cool. Staff were friendly and professional. We did not book reservations and were able to be seated right away. The food was excellent. The perfect way to start a busy Sunday in the city. I had an eggs benedict, my wife had a full english breakfast, with a pot of tea each. Portions were good - filling but not wasteful. Flavours were delicious. I'd say this is worth a trip out of your way to grab breakfast, of if you're lucky enough to be staying in one of the rooms, its an easy trip downstairs. Next time we're in London I'd like to try lunch.

Yum! I had the London Pride Steak and Fuellers pie AND the seafood pie. It was a lot of food, but it tasted great. Well seasoned. The fries with gravy hit the spot. I'd recommend the steak pie if you had to pick one, but the seafood one had a soft boiled egg, which was a nice surprise. Check this place out!

Best steak ale pie I ever had!It came with side of mashed potatoes,peas and most importantly generous serving of gravy.My husband had Cornish Pasty with same sides of me.He gave me a bite,so good! We both agreed my Ale Pie was better and we'd order that again. My husband had a Fuller ESB beer and I had a Chardonnay. Great service too.

Excellent pub food! Nice place and was walking distance from our hotel. We all tried something different to share. The chicken pie and macaroni and cheese were my choices and amazing! Dessert was fabulous as well. Our service was excellent too

We stopped in for lunch after arriving from Paris. The Blackbird did not disappoint. We had the most incredible sandwiches and chips. The fried coronation chicken sandwich with curry mayo was out of this world. The triple fried chips we also amazing. My husband had the fish finger sandwich..also wonderful.. but the chicken curry sandwich is one I would come back for. The service was also wonderful and the ambiance the perfect English pub atmosphere.

When in London this is a must stop for dinner. The fish & chips lived up to the English reputation, and the Shepard pie was equally as good. I finished off my meal with some sticky pudding that cured my sweet tooth for the evening. If you need a beer, they have over 20 on tap. The service was excellent, and my food came out supper fast. The dining area and the bar area are both really comfortable.

I really went in to try the Sunday roast and we also go the fish and chips and I have to say the fish and chips is one of the best I've had in London in all my visits to the country. It was fresh, the batter was light. The Sunday roast was alright. A bit tough but it was fun to try the food. The ambiance of the pub is quieter and seems more like a cafe because it wasn't too noisy. Would def. Come back to get their fish and chips again.

French martini was on point. The fish and chips did not disappoint! Would come back again!

Enjoyed this immensely four years ago, and returned today during our first trip to London since then, and it was as fine as ever. Fish & chips, beef and ale pie, and a sharable fruit crumble were a wonderful meal. Service was fine, wonderful pub atmosphere, and it wasn't too crowded at 12:00 on a Friday.

For a pub, this is 5 Star. We have been to probably 10 pubs this trip, and this was our favorite. We didn't get food at every pub, mostly beers. highly recommend this 2 person pie sampler. No picture, but we have had fish and chips at 2 other pubs, this was our favorite. Service was good, and unlike many other pubs, there was a server who took order at the table. (For drinks only, still order at bar) By the way, a stroll down this street after a visit is a nice walk.

The staff were very welcoming when we came in for Sunday roast in the mid-afternoon. We had made a note in our reservation to please have space for our stroller, and we were given a nice table in the back where our son could continue to sleep while we ate peacefully. The Duo was amazing and I'm so glad I didn't have to choose between the chicken or the beef. My husband and I each got one because we didn't want to share. The sides were great as other reviews noted, from the potatoes to the roasted carrots and the cauliflower. We shared one sticky toffee pudding, immediately ordered a second, and promptly finished that, too. Service is great, and it was probably our favorite meal in London this week!

Great lunch at the Blackbird! The steak and ale pie and chicken and liek pie were excellent.

I ordered a Steak & Ale Pie while my husband ordered Fish & Chips. Overall, the meal was very good and comforting. I would definitely recommend to anyone traveling through London. As for my drink, I ordered a Very Berry Spritzer. It was very refreshing, almost like a seltzer. Not so much sweet.

So glad our hotel was around the corner from this amazing gem! Couldn't even tell you what the best bite was because everything was amazing.

We came here for breakfast and it is a nice local spot with a lot of options. Service was just ok, but we overall still had a good experience. Would suggest trying this spot out.

I went to the Blackbird 3 times during my stay in Earl's Court in London. The pints, fish and chips and burgers were delicious! The ambiance was great and the service was excellent! I love that I could order from the scan code or in person.

Excellent everything on a previous visit... this visit not as amazing. The fish and chips could have been a little more done. It was a little undercooked. I wish we had gotten the Apple & Blackberry Crumble. It looked amazing.

This place is right around the corner from our stay and I'm sad that the first time I went was our last day. That being said, it was really great. The staff is super sweet and attentive, and the full English breakfast was really good! Definitely stop by for breakfast! Also I saw they had live music on Sunday nights and the place has been packed, so that looks like a lot of fun too!

Excellent experience at The Blackbird! We loved their fish and chips. The tartar sauce was heavenly. Delicious cocktails. We also had a sweet potato curry pie as an appetizer and it was wonderful. Service was outstanding. Would recommend for sure!

Felt like a classic British Pub to me! Excellent service and delicious Pies... Enjoyed the Mac and Cheese Croquettes and fried Squid for starters, then Hubby had the Steak and London Pride Pie and I had the Chicken Tikka Masala...both we're absolutely scrumptious and can easily see why they have won the awards! When In Kensington, pass all other Pubs and stop here!

Good service! The fish and chips are great, and it's a large portion, bus they allowed us to split the meal. I also had a summer cocktail (a spiced rum mojito) that was really good! I would definitely eat here again.

I had made plans to have an English Breakfast at the Blackbird restaurant on Tuesday June 25th after seeing many favorable reviews. I tried to make a reservation at this restaurant to secure my reservation but was told that that was not necessary. On the morning of June 25th my family and I arrived a few minutes later than planned due to traffic caused my road works. The minute we arrived at the Blackbird restaurant a male member of staff mouthed to a female member of staff no breakfast. As I approached the female member of staff she rudely told us that we could not order breakfast. We explained that we had travelled a long way to eat the English breakfast at this restaurant and asked if there was anyway we could order it. The female member of staff once again rudely told my family and I that we could not order breakfast. My family and I were deeply disappointed that we couldn't order the English Breakfast because that was the only reason we went to the restaurant in the first place and because we traveled a long way and time to eat at this restaurant. There is nothing worse than looking forward to eating something that you can almost taste it and then dealing with the huge disappointment of not being able to order what you have been dreaming of eating. What made me the most disappointed with the Blackbird restaurant on Earls Court Road in Earls Court in England is the rude manner my family and I were treated. They say that it is not what you say but how you say it. All the other restaurants that we ate in England were very polite and accommodating and we ate at a lot of restaurants. It is just unfortunate that this one restaurant treated my family and I so badly. Thankfully the other restaurants my family and I ate at were so polite and accommodating to my family and I that it made up for this extremely disappointing experience.

Blackbird is a corporate run establishment posing as a small traditional old style pub. They're owned by Fuller's. Dead give aways include a quick Google search and poor, mass produced meat pies. The interior is dim and charming. We sat at the bar until our table was ready. I asked if they had a cocktail menu. I was rudely told that they did not by the bartender but then later, when we were seated at our table, was handed a pretty extensive gin and tonic menu. As per usual, I inform servers about my nut allergy, which unfortunately is a little complicated. I can have peanuts, almonds, and coconut but no other nuts. And traces of nuts are fine. The server told me that I couldn't have any of the meat pies because they all contain every single kind of nut. I questioned him, which I don't normally do, but that sounded a little ridiculous and we had come to Blackbird specifically to eat their meat pies. He returned with a huge corporate binder and showed me how every single nut was checked off for all of their meat pies. Logically, I concluded that they do not make their own meat pies and that the dough is processed in a factory whose machinery may contain traces of nuts. Because no one grinds up every single kind of nut and puts it in pie crust unless they really have a disdain for nut allergy sufferers. Pie crust doesn't even have nuts! I appreciated their thoroughness and how seriously they took my allergy (really, I did) but felt they were pretty uninformed about their ingredients. So we decided to play with fire and order one anyway as an appetizer. Just one mini pie instead of the 3 pie sampler we had wanted to get. Not surprising, I was perfectly fine. And it was a blessing in disguise that we didn't order 3, because the steak and London pride pie was terrible. It was super salty and had no steak in it, just gravy. The meat pies I've had at stadiums were infinitely better. For our mains, we shared the traditional fish pie (that one apparently doesn't have nuts since there's no pie crust) and the fish and chips. The traditional fish pie was also super salty and highly processed. It was like a fish chowder you'd get from a can with mashed potatoes on top. The fish and chips was good and probably the only thing we ordered that they actually made in house. The fish was crispy and huge and served with mushy peas, tartar sauce, and lemon. The chips were good as well. I was between 2 and 3 stars but leaned toward 3 due to friendly and attentive service (at the restaurant, not at the bar), really good fish and chips, and good gin and tonics (but how hard is it to get those right?) However, I would definitely save your meat pie craving for somewhere else.

We wanted to check out a few pubs and this was close to our flat we were staying in and had gotten some good reviews. It did not disappoint. The food was great, some had the meat pies and some the fish and chips and everyone liked what they had chosen. The server was very nice and took time to ask where we were from and answered all of our questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit there!

Thank goodness for the food. Went for dinner based on reviews. Asked about seating and sat at an open table. Server proceeded to ignore us. I mean blatantly ignore us to the point of waiting on two tables right next to us and ignoring our attempts to catch her attention. Started to order ourselves, from the bar, and thankfully another server helped us after pleading for service. Should've gone down the street. Maybe it was a rough night but it made our experience unpleasant.

Had breakfast while visiting London. We had the full English breakfast, pancake and eggs Benedict. My daughter, who's never had pancakes she didn't like, actually complained that it was too chewy, so I would not recommend it. The full English breakfast came with Heinz beans (although I didn't know that was a selling point) and was pretty good. Eggs Benedict was also decent. Food-wise, this is probably 3 stars but the attentive service gets it another star.

This a fun pub in the Kensington area and it appeared to be very popular with the locals. I had a beef pie and mashed potatoes - it was very good! They also run specials and have seasonal offerings. The service was slow but it was typical for London. It was also very busy! I didn't have and beer but they did have a large selection. I would go again!

We came in for the Sunday roast, it did not disappoint. Had the duo of beef and chicken, Cornish pie , and rabbit casserole, it was a ton of food. I would probably just do the beef next time. The place was quite busy with good options for children as well.

We came here seeking out a full English breakfast, And we were not disappointed! I was surprised to be heading into a pub for breakfast in the first place, but I think this is how the English do things! Upon arrival, I see they also offer a full vegetarian English breakfast, a very pleasant surprise! Our waiter was very friendly and offered us breakfast in a quick and pleasant manner! Everything was delicious, the hashbrown, the beans, the eggs, the vegetarian sausage, the spinach, the grilled Portabello mushroom! All awesome! Highly recommend this place! It looked like they had beautiful rooms too. Would definitely consider staying here in the future!

Great pub! I think we lucked out and came at just the right time since all other tables had reservation signs on them. The place was packed, so just to be sure you get a table I would probably make a reservation. I had the beef pie. It was delicious. The beef inside was tender and the gravy and mushrooms were delicious. The pastry outside was so good and the pie itself wasn't too heavy. I had veg with mine and mashed potatoes. The beer was also good, lots of slow pour options on tap. It was a good stop, I would recommend it!

Super happy with this place. The selection of beers is great, all very nice. Friendly staff, fun crowd. Steak and ale pie was terrific. A very solid choice for a traditional British pub dinner.

We really liked this pub. The food was very good as was the drink. It was air conditioned on a very hot day and the service was very friendly and attentive. The interior was cozy as well.
