1 Star – Extremely Disappointing Experience My experience at Blockhouse Franklin confirmed that this is a very low-quality establishment charging outrageous prices. I was charged $80–$90 for a haircut and beard shave, which is completely unreasonable considering the poor service and unsanitary conditions. The hot towel smelled like mold. The place itself was dirty — the floors were not clean, and the overall air and environment felt unhygienic. There was clearly no attention to sanitation or cleanliness. The atmosphere is unprofessional. Children were getting haircuts just a few feet away from where alcohol was being served, which does not feel appropriate or family-friendly. It’s obvious this place operates on volume, not quality. It feels like it’s all about pushing as many clients through as possible rather than delivering proper service. The staff appear disengaged, likely because they are salaried and have no incentive to go above and beyond. Meanwhile, the owner charges premium prices without investing in proper maintenance or quality. I was assigned a very young, inexperienced barber who did not have the skill level needed to properly shave a 44-year-old man. For the price they charge, I expect professionalism and expertise — not someone who is still learning. The chairs are rusty, the facility looks cheaply put together, and yet they charge top dollar. It feels unfair and exploitative. Overall, this place prioritizes money over quality, cleanliness, and customer care. I will never return. One star is more than generous

The staff is amazing! Fowler checked me in and grabbed me a complimentary drink! Adam, crushed the hair cut! Price was very fair and the convos were amazing! Definitely will be back!

I've been here a handful of times and every visit has been a great experience. The staff is warm and welcoming, which seems to be rare these days. I've gotten an excellent haircut from Micah every time. He's easy to work with and actually listens. And of course the bar really makes the space, so come early for a drink (and leave a few minutes for parking too).

Franklin, TN. My grandson started high school and needed a better cut for his thick blond hair and his mom, Betsy, found him this place. It has a bar! When his dad brought him here he approved and now they both get cuts from Micah. Their hair looks great.

I’m a regular with Micah, and he’s by far my favorite barber in the Franklin area. He’s a super friendly guy, and I always leave satisfied with my cut! I have super curly hair, so it’s definitely not the easiest to cut, but he handles it like a pro. If you want a quality haircut and a good conversation, Micah is your guy!

Skyler is top notch! Everytime my son comes in to get his haircut with him, his attention to detail and overall product always blows us away. Best haircut by far.

We took our 12 year old and had a great experience with Noah! He walked out and said it was his most favorite haircut he's ever had.

Really great spot. Gives a classic Barber feel with a high level of professionalism. Walked in but was able to be seen, although I would recommend an appointment and set one for next time. Plus that there is a bar in there as well And thought that was a really cool concept. All in all friendly staff, great atmosphere, and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

It's time to update my review, because sadly, David has reduced his hours and I'm not able to see him anymore. BUT big shout out to Makayla! I got a great cut today, great conversation, and she had plenty of availability because she just started. Fill up her schedule!

Best barber shop in Franklin! Ask for Adam or any of the guys and you'll be happy you did. My teen son got a bad haircut at another high-end shop in Franklin, but Adam fit us in the very next day and gave my son the best haircut he's ever had. He's walking with his head held high now! The vibe is great and all the barbers are great. Every customer I saw while I was there came out looking great! I could tell everyone was very happy. It's in The Factory, back by Liberty Hall. Everyone is so friendly and kind.

This has been my go to for the last few years. I have a standing appointment every 4 weeks with Nick. All the barbers seem to do a great job and they have very little turnover which is great for repeat customers. The bar is well stocked and there are always two rotating taps of great regional beers. Come early or stay a bit after for a libation and good conversation.

I just moved back to Nashville after being gone almost 20 years. A family friend recommended nick to cut my hair. Walked in checked in and got free beer for first time visit. Nick did an amazing job maybe better than the barber I've used last 16 years. Already booked for the next two hair cuts. Great place great people and great environment!

Place is great in every way possible. Bar with a great selection of drinks and snacks, and barbers that know what they are doing. Andy cuts my hair, hands down best cut I can find anywhere around. Would highly reccomend. I've had 3-4 different people cut my hair and they are all great. You tell them what you want, they deliver, every time. Communication is key. Couldn't be happier with The Blockhouse. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

I would not recommend getting your haircut here. My son went to get his haircut by Andy and his hair was butchered. We provided a picture for reference and the final product was nowhere near what was expected. Please stay far away from this place. You'd have better results cutting your hair yourself.

Called to make an appointment Monday morning and nobody even had the courtesy to call me back; it's now been 48 hours. I refuse to give anyone business that operates this way. I hope their busy because I would never recommend them and am glad I went to another establishment.

Nick Doors has been my guy for over 3 years. He is great and his team is wonderful. I highly recommend The Blockhouse.

Matt T did an awesome job. I had buzzed my own hair a few months ago and had some regrets about my decision. Needed someone to fix it up. I just told Matt I wanted to give the top time to grow out and the sides to be short. But I told him to do what he thought was best. He did a great job fading/blending. Prices were also fair. Would definitely recommend.

Taking two factors into consideration..the cut and the service. The cut 2 stars....the service 5. Average rating: 3. Dry cuts are always a hit or miss with me anyway. I know it's the new trend and can often work on most hair types. On mine, not so much. I have course, thinning hair and goes in every direction possible. When you sit in the chair with styled hair it's pretty simple to follow a template as all the hairs are being held by product and manipulation from earlier that day. But what happens when you go home and shampoo your hair? All those hairs that were nicely pasted down and styled flat soon take surface. I like to assess a good haircut based on the amount of time it takes you to style a "fresh cut" on the second day. If you are continually trying to work it into a style and it doesn't fall quickly into your normal groom routine the cut might have missed the mark. This was my experience. Stray pieces needing to be trimmed and more product to control the frizz isn't fun. The service on the other hand was pretty cool. A beverage while you wait and a very casual setting. I love the concept of this place but wasn't a fan of the end result. Was hoping to love this place but I feel it missed the mark.
