Where do I start! Such a great place to spend our anniversary. The room was so cozy and beautiful. We sat on our balcony for a while and listened to the crickets. We loved walking around the property and enjoying the flowers. Breakfast was delicious. French toast was amazing. We will be making this an annual tradition!

I've stayed here twice now and both times have been great. The staff are welcoming and accommodating. The rooms are clean and beautiful. I really like having the restaurant right down stairs for both brunch and dinner. Midway has grown quite a bit between visits, but the inn is far enough away from that to really notice. It's a great spot for a romantic getaway.

I was at Blue Boar Inn back in May and the place is so whimsical and nice but the service was actually my favorite part of my stay, the GM Jules was incredibly knowledgeable and so helpful with my turn down service and care to detail. On her recommendation I tried the fondue dip plate. It was incredible along with the steak. Thanks Jules for making my stay memorable.

We went here for a mini staycation. Absolutely adorable! The decor and rooms were such a great vibe. Really reasonably priced, and the room came with a delicious breakfast. Staying in a place with this kind of ambiance made our trip so special. The service was also amazing. We definitely plan to return! (Also, there were snacks when we got to the room! And they turned down the bed and put out chocolates, a rose, and a little booklet with famous writer quotes. SO COOL.)

This was suuuch a fun place to stay. The room, staff and food were all amazing. My wife and I came here to celebrate her birthday and had such a great time. We had both dinner and brunch here and both were equally outstanding. Whether for a stay, a meal, or both we will definitely be back.

Great Breakfast & Service with $3 Coffee. Wednesday's Fixed-Priced menu is a good deal & so's the food. Beautiful location, great place to escape the inflated Park City prices & crowds.

My family and I live here in Midway and blueboard was one of our favorite restaurants and tell new management, especially Christine who’s been there since December who absolutely is taking place from amazing to I highly don’t recommend anyone to go. She is the worst manager. She doesn’t know how to do reservations she gives you a reservation for a set time and then when you get there, she says it’s not set. She’s extremely rude and even seems a bit out of place for that of nice venue. , would love manager to contact me. I hope they come back around

This place is so cozy and beautiful. Every detail of the inn had us feeling like we had stepped back in time. The staff was kind and helpful. They even put a rose and chocolates on the bed and had cookies by the front door when we came back from an outing.

Yelp
AMAZING!!! My husband and I stayed at the inn for our babymoon and had dinner at the restaurant on our first night. We were very impressed with everything! We had the Porter and Smoked Gouda fondu to start, the Halibut and Filet Mignon entrees, and the crème brûlée to finish. Each dish was phenomenal, we finished everything quickly, and the service was also extremely quick and wonderful! The Germanic aesthetic of the restaurant also created a very unique environment! 10/10 would come here again!

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful dinner for our party or 6. From start to finish everything was perfect. The staff was welcoming, the ambiance was unique and just lovely. The food was delicious. This exceeded all expectations.

Yelp
One of the best hot chocolate spots in Summit County! The Blue Boar Inn is one of the best brunch spots in Utah and a family favorite. The pastries are always great and the food is always spectacular. The cinnamon roll was one of the best I've had it used puff pastry with a flaky exterior with a softy and chewy center. The hollandaise was excellent and the eggs Benedict was good however I wish they fried the prosciutto. The French toast was delicious! The steak was tender and delicious. The skillet potatoes were crispy with a fluffy inside. A great brunch spot and a family favorite!

Yelp
The ambiance / vibe was cool. It was decorated really well and doubles as an inn. We had to have reservations for lunch. Our table ordered the fish and chips, Reuben sandwich and steak frites. Our table liked the Reuben, fish & chips, but the steak was disappointing. The service was also slow. It was a nice stop - but I wouldn't rank it high on the list.

Yelp
My husband and I spent a weekend away in Midway and wanted a nice dinner so we stopped at this restaurant. It's a very nice and fun looking restaurant. Lots of fun detail in their decor. We didn't realize it didn't open until 5:30 pm but they let us come in and sit down as we got there about 15 minutes early. All the servers and waitresses are very kind. We started out with the Porter and smoked Gouda fondue and it was excellent! The sides to dip in it were so tasty. We really love the shishito peppers. For the main dish I got filet mignon. I actually didn't love it as it wasn't my favorite taste, but the mashed potatoes and carrots were tasty. The highlight of the meal for me were the desserts. The crème brûlée was excellent and we got the fruit sorbet which was açai and it was so tasty and it was in an almond Florentine cup which was such fun presentation and tasted delicious!

Yelp
TL;DR AWESOME! Super cute themed rooms Full service breakfast included Great for a romantic getaway Jetted tubs Tucked away in a beautiful spot in Midway Helpful Staff We had a chance to stay at this cute little inn a few weeks back. We were wanting a little romantic Getaway not to far from where we live in Lehi. It was a quick drive through a beautiful canyon and there we were! We originally had booked a smaller less expensive room, but when we informed them that the a/c wasn't working and it was 77 degrees in our room, they promptly upgraded us to a larger suite. Gotta love that kind of customer service. The rooms are super cute and very cozy/romantic feeling. The beds are huge! Definitely a step up from your everyday box hotel. In the morning you go down to their restaurant and order whatever you want off the menu. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and it's a pretty decent spread. We absolutely loved our stay and hope to get back up there soon!

Yelp
I recently had lunch here. They have a very quaint ambience, with food options to match. We started with the pretzel, very large, authentic Bavarian style. I was actually hoping for a boar burger, but no boar on the menu lol. There are a few sandwich, salad and entree options. We will be back to try the dinner menu.

Yelp
A hidden treasure in Midway! Very cozy little restaurant and bar. Next to a golf course and across from a state park. The food is always incredible and the service is friendly and attentive. Wednesday is their prefixed menu. Reservations required

Yelp
We stopped here to check out the amazing collection of Olympic ski photos. What an amazing find - we ended up grabbing lunch too! Great service, polite staff, fantastic interior w amazing Nordic charm.

Yelp
My husband is great at finding amazing restaurants and this time he, yet again, did not disappoint. The building is styled European chateau and immaculately well maintained. So much charm! We had an early reservation and when we arrived we had a choice on outdoor or indoor. It was such a lovely evening we chose outside on the vast veranda. The view was spectacular! I even saw a hawk dive for a fish in the lake across the street. Not only was the ambiance incredible, the food was as well. The service was on point, and so very nice and accommodating. It seems as though this spot is a hidden gem as not many people I speak to know about it. It's no wonder they boast a Four star, Four diamond, Five medal Inn awards. I would highly recommend this restaurant especially if you have a special occasion or just want to feel like you are taken back in time amidst the beauty back of the Wasatch.

Yelp
We weren't guests of the Blue Boar Inn, but we popped in for Sunday brunch. The parking lot is small, but I did see other patrons parking across the street. This is such a charming Inn!!! Decorated for Christmas, it is like walking in to a fairy tale!!! We were seated beside a cozy fireplace. There is a prix fixe brunch menu that included several courses. You may select your main entree. Of note was the delicate crepe. Everything was beautifully presented, and tasted so good!!! The servers, though non smiling, are efficient. The only tiny complaint is that our entrees came out just a bit cold. Be sure to pop in the cute little gift shop!!!
google avatar

Anne Marie S.

Yelp
This spot was a definite disappointment. We were in the area and were looking for something yummy to eat. First of all, the decor is super dated. It looks like someone went through all the grandmas old things and threw them up on the wall and said VINTAGE!! Our server was nice and the young lady who was bringing our water, we asked her, like we usually do, what is your favorite thing on the menu to which she replied" I haven't eaten anything here". I had an asparagus salad which had three small spears of asparagus. I also had a cup of the French onion soup which was okay. Hubby had the lamb which was actually really good. Not sure I would come back because it was expensive for what we got. This will scratch the itch for some folks but not us.

Yelp
We stayed and dined here on a Thursday night. Everything was wonderful! I highly recommend both the restaurant and the inn. Restaurant was delicious with attentive, friendly staff. We had an appetizer (heirloom tomato burrata and focaccia) and entrees (pork shank and trout), then ordered dessert to the room later (raspberry cheesecake and crème brûlée). Full breakfast was included with the room and was as delicious as dinner! I had the corned beef hash and my guest had the eggs/meat/fruit/toast. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. We stayed in the William Morris room. It was nicely appointed with a cheese/fruit/cracker plate when we arrived and turn down service included a long stem rose (with attached water) and a souvenir booklet of writings from some of the authors featured in the inn. All furnishings were very comfortable. The bed was very high for me (I'm 5'0") and the staff brought a step stool from another room to ensure safe ingress/egress. The mattress and pillows were very comfy and the sheets were so soft, as were the bathroom towels. The toiletries were generously sized and smelled great! Overall the atmosphere of the inn was quiet and restful. There's an actual metal key for the room, so remember to lock it yourself when leaving. Staff throughout the inn were friendly and knew us and our room number automatically. We will definitely be staying and dining here again; it's our new favorite spot in the Midway/Heber area!

Yelp
Went here with a couple of girl friends on a nice fall afternoon. The vibe of this place was incredible- you feel like you have taken a trip to Germany. The whole place feels like it came straight from a fairytale. By far my favorite part about this place. We ordered a couple of appetizers for the table to share and then I ordered the soup of the day. It was all good! The soup portion was quite tiny- especially for being $10. It was literally a cup of soup. But that was my biggest complaint. The service was a little questionable. Not sure if it's because I came with a group of girls and they figured they would let us chat for a while? But it took them 45 min before they took our food order. Our whole experience there was about an hour and a half. Overall is was a fun experience and I'm thrilled to finally be able to cross it off my places to try in midway list:)

Yelp
Called the restaurant to see if there was any way they could squeeze in our party of 7. Lucky for us a larger party did not show so they were able to serve us. Everything was just wonderful - French onion soup, lamb t-bones w mashed potatoes, herb chicken with risotto, fondue. Also ordered the pork schnitzel with spaetzel- be warned it is quite a large serving- definitely worth it. For dessert, we also had crème brûlée and sorbets. Perfect way to end the meal. Ambience was nice, we were able to have conversations without having to speak too loudly. Service was prompt and the staff were very friendly. Prices were reasonable for the quality of meals. Would definitely visit again when we come back to Midway. Would make for a nice special occasion dinner.

Yelp
We had a lovely breakfast on the deck! The weather was beautiful as well as the flowers. We received excellent service from both the hostess and our server, very attentive. Our food was flavorful and well presented. We had the huevos rancheros and the corned beef hash each had a unique twist. Perfect brunch!

Yelp
Just fabulous on all levels. Great food, ambience and service. Thank you, Blue Boar, for being one of the truly great restaurants in the Heber Valley and Park City area!

Yelp
Enjoyed our visit at The Blue Boar Inn today- what a beautiful setting for a restaurant and Inn! We enjoyed a beautiful weekday breakfast - our server Robin was both helpful and friendly- making sure our coffee cups and water kept full! I got the omelette (choice of 3 items). I got salmon- sour cream - avocado- it was the perfect combination- fluffy omelette and cooked to perfection! Served with rosemary potatoes and choice of toast - I got sour dough toast served with a strawberry rhubarb jam omg very good. My better 1/2 got the two egg breakfast with a great ham and rosemary potatoes and toast! Ham was well grilled and tasty. It's a great place for a casual weekday breakfast with their own parking lot and friendly people!

Yelp
Sadly, a troubling incident tonight caused me to remove one star from an otherwise perfect review. We arrived 30 minutes earlier than our scheduled reservation and the guy at the front desk was incredibly curt and made it into a huge ordeal even though the restaurant was completely empty. I've never been treated like that here before and was downright shocked - especially when I had told my dining companions how wonderful this place was. I was embarrassed. Fortunately, the food was excellent and the ambiance was charming as usual. The clam chowder was wonderful and the filet mignon was perfect. It's sad that culinary perfection could be tainted by the poor attitude of someone who probably would be better suited to working at the DMV.

Yelp
Such amazing scotch eggs.. and brunch is amazing it is a four course meal! Best place in Heber!
google avatar

Yelp
The restaurant was very quaint and very visually interesting. The staff was quiet but pleasant. We went for brunch, and it was a little hit and miss on our entrees. I ordered the French toast and it was undercooked and was very doughy. Wish it would have come with more than one side. The huevous rancheros were delicious! They ran out of ketchup so those who had ordered home fries were left disappointed with dry potatoes. The coffee was bitter and required a lot of cream and sugar to be good. Overall it was okay, but not sure it would warrant another visit.

Yelp
A nice little getaway in Midway, Utah. One of our favorite places for my husband and I to have a night away and fabulous food. We've stayed here many times over the years to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. The ambiance is serene and the suites are spacious and luxurious. All of the rooms are themed after famous authors. Our favorite is William Shakespeare but we've stayed in many of the others as well. During the cold months they even turn on the fireplaces in the suites to give it a warm and cozy feeling at turn down service. The grounds are lovely. The 3 course dinner is always to die for and the Sunday brunch is scrumptious. The blue boar in is truly a gem. The reason for 4/5 stars for this review however is they recently changed detergent or something as I personally was having some allergic reactions in the room and when I'd leave the room the itchy and water eyes and sneezing would stop. I noticed the detergent smell was strong and not what we've been used to in the past. The service was pretty good. Our experience with the staff this trip was inconsistent as the person greeting us and taking us to our room was not very friendly or sociable but as the stay went on she seemed to warm up and became friendlier and more helpful. Our servers for dinner and brunch were good. Overall the stay was still good but not great or amazing as it usually is. We watch for the spring or fall specials as they're a great deal and experience for a special evening away.

Yelp
The Blue Boar Inn takes you back to a little touch of Europe. This quaint Inn is tastefully decorated with a top notch restaurant with an incredible menu. We dined on a Sunday evening so it wasn't very busy. We were impressed with their Covid 19 protocols. The tables were separated, the staff wore masks and gloves and they took our temperature upon entering the dining room. The French Onion Soup is a must for a starter. It's served in a beautiful bowl adorned with boars matching the theme of this place. The cheese flowed over the top and sides of the bowl and enhanced the rich flavor of the soup. I almost wanted to order a second bowl it was so delicious. The Schnitzel was my main course. I've traveled all over Europe and found the best and most authentic Schnitzel overseas but the Blue Boar does a nice job with their version which could stand up to some of my favorite European dishes. The portion was huge and it filled the plate. It was served with a fried egg on top which was a new taste that I enjoyed. This was served with a side of spaetzel which is a noodle dish. Although the portion was large I couldn't resist enjoying every bite during our dinner. I recommend this place for a nice evening dinner. Reservations are needed especially on the weekends.

Vince Y.

Yelp
Great find. Cozy, great service. The balsamic chicken is an awesome dish. Will be back and bring friends.

Yelp
Blue Boar is always amazing, I've been here several times. We've Had the Sunday brunch and dinner here. The brunch is an experience. The only thing that left me a bit taken aback recently was I planned on bringing my daughters there for the Sunday brunch and I called a few days before our reservation and the woman who answered the phone was abrupt as well as unwilling to answer my questions about gluten free options and also a few other questions I had. My daughter has been gluten free for health reasons for over ten years and I was hoping to get some clarification on their menu options. Apparently the lady that answered the phone doesn't enjoy that aspect of her job and after repeatedly telling me "our menu is online" and almost being rude, I finally hung up since she was clearly not listening or interested in engaging with a customer.
google avatar

Grace P.

Yelp
Our server Molly made the whole night! She was so wonderfully friendly and the perfect amount of engaging. She even gave us an extra dessert when we couldn't decide! Food was great and ambiance was very cozy. 10/10 would return!
google avatar

Susan B.

Yelp
It was a slow weekday night and the menu offered only 3 prix fixe (fixed price) options - beef, salmon and chicken scaloppini. The two of us chose the broccoli cheddar soup, salmon and chicken and the flourless chocolate cake for dessert. All choices were $38. What a delight. It had genuine antique Old world decor, European-tasting food excellently prepared and presented plus caring, prompt service in a beautiful setting. It could not have been more enjoyable. We did not have any Interaction with the lodging side of the Blue Boar so I cannot comment about that, but the dining was phenomenal!
google avatar

Kristen M.

Yelp
The accommodations are clever and comfortable (although my room smelled like an older man had gone noseblind with cologne). The room had a huge tub and shower, the on-site dining was innovative and delicious and I think I'll make this a tradition. Shopping in Midway is nearby and the views are spectacular

M G.

Yelp
Tudor charm, excellent wine list, excellent food, excellent service. My husband and I went here for date night and it was perfect. The fondue was so delicious it did not disappoint. Husband had the pork shank which he was happy with and I had the halibut which was cooked perfectly and so satisfying. Topped off with a great bottle of wine, dessert and a gracious server made for a perfect date night dinner. We will most definitely be back!
google avatar

Kieren C.

Yelp
Very cozy, unique, European vibe at this restaurant, especially in the middle of a snow storm. It felt like we were transported to a completely different time and place, from the moment we opened the door. Service was great. Food was very good, but not amazing. We had a lot of fun with the fondue and it was a large portion. Prices are very high, so be prepared. I'm very happy we experienced this place.

Yelp
Stayed here for our anniversary. This is a small and very charming Inn and Restaurant. It looks like an old home and has themed rooms throughout. We stayed in the Ralph Waldo Emerson room. Room was clean, the grounds are pretty and relaxing to walk around on. There was a shower and jetted tub in our room, but you would have to be very small to relax in the jetted tub. Dinner, not included with the stay, is a three course dinner that was fantastic! We started with the fondue for two, then I had the Caesar salad and shrimp and grits. We took our flourless chocolate cake to our room to eat later as we were stuffed. Breakfast was just as good, and was included with the stay. Staff was all friendly and professional. This is definitely not a kid friendly destination, but perfect for couples. There are no pools or hot tubs, but it is a great place fo relax and get away.
google avatar

Jill S.

Yelp
exceptional food and service . Love coming here. We loved the smoked Gouda fondue and roasted chicken with risotto

Yelp
Awesome food great atmosphere and prices are very fair. Very nice relaxing decor makes you feel like you're in Italy. We will be back.

Yelp
I came here for my anniversary and was very disappointed with the service. We made a reservation and were seated immediately on the patio. The service was slow and our waiter didn't really pay attention to us at all. He only checked in once and we had to ask a different staff member for the bill. The service was disappointing, especially for a nicer restaurant, I only gave them four stars because the food made up for it. We ordered the Swedish meatballs and escargot for appetizers. They were good, but the main course was the real star. I had the chicken with gnocchi which was delicious and my partner had the lamb. We both really enjoyed our entrees and were very full. I don't know if I'd come back due to my negative experience, but glad I at least got to try the food.
google avatar

Justin G.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience here, though finding parking was a bit annoying. However, my expectations for the food were absolutely met. I had the escargot for a starter plate, and it may have been my favorite part of the meal. Such a nice flavor. I would recommend that one for sure. For my main, I ordered the rack of lamb medium rare. It was pretty fatty, but I enjoyed it overall. I also tasted the meatballs and the chicken. Meatballs could have been juicier, but the chicken was excellent. The outdoor seating is very pleasant in the summer as well!
google avatar

Yelp
By now, we are regulars at The Blue Boar Inn, we come over as much as possible from Logan, UT (without even feeling the need to see Park City) This place exemplifies old school hospitality with great attention to detail. The Chef is always in the house and his cuisine never disappoints. The hotel rooms are cozy and each one is unique and very clean. If you come, you must stay on a Saturday night so you can be delighted by Sunday brunch. Skip Park City restaurants and have dinner here, your taste buds will thank you. There is a reason why this place has so many awards.

Ronnie B.

Yelp
Really cool place and hidden gem. The food was great and our server was nice and welcoming. We sat outside which had amazing views that made the whole experience amazing. The inside was cute and charming very unique place.
google avatar

Joseph M.

Yelp
Whoever the older woman greeting guest is, I hope she is the owner. If not, the owners should have a serious conversation with her. She was rude and Unaccommodating. Unlike every gasthaüs in Germany, and my wife's family is all from Munich, so I've been to hundreds, this one sucked. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. My wife, the actual German, was embarrassed for her country. We arrived, they were still serving lunch, and there were plenty of guests eating. The restaurant was probably 30% full at 1pm. She refused us. We asked if we could sit on the patio. She again refused us with an unpleasant attitude. We asked if we could just enjoy the view and weather for a moment. It sucked. We travel a great deal and will NEVER go back. What a witch.
google avatar

Richard M.

Yelp
Normally I don't like fancy restaurants, but this place was great. The fish in the fish and chips was fresh, hot, light and flaky, and the fries were tasty, crisp and hot. The shrimp scampi was delicious. The atmosphere perfect. An excellent dining experience.
google avatar

Brent M.

Yelp
Great restaurant, food, cocktails and atmosphere. It's quaint and just out of town. Sit outside if you can

Alexander T.

Yelp
this place is very good, i have come to eat here countless times with my family, however my gluteonus brother has ruined my experience by shoving bread in his mouth as i was asking him to share the fondue plate...this world would be a much better place if there wasnt gluteonus people to pollute it.

Yelp
Enjoyed a lovely lunch -- very fresh salads, sandwiches and soup-- in this beautifully built and adorned inn with ancient artifacts: crossbows, cow bells, paintings, hand carved doors and an ornate 16thc travel trunk as a bar in the cozy, charming bar. Would not have wanted to miss seeing this place. Even the ladies' room had a gorgeous hand painted antique mirror and antler paper holder. Our server was super nice as were the ladies who greeted us.
google avatar

Brandon H.

Yelp
We went for breakfast so this review reflects only that aspect of this establishment. You can expect to pay about $8 pp for breakfast. For the location and the service I feel like this is a great deal. The restaurant itself has a a strong cabin vibe going on and it's pretty dark inside. I'm not saying that's good or bad, but I don't care for it. I will return again and will recommend this place to my friends.
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
Ambience and food were delicious. Staff was super sweet and friendly. I wish they did fondue for lunch! Great spot to meet an out of town friend for a bite and long conversation. I'll be back for fondue!

Kaden L.

Yelp
My favorite thing about this place was the wall decorations. I absolutely loved how this place looked. It was a bit expensive for the food I got, but I was expecting the price to be high. Definitely recommend it.

Kathryn C.

Yelp
Depends on who's cooking! Shrimp was big & amazing the first time and tiny like out of a can the second. Don't recommend.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
I was disappointed in our meal. My chicken was over cooked, and my gnocchi's tasted bland. I left over half my food on my plate because I couldn't eat it. The creme brûlée was delicious though
google avatar

Carrie O.

Yelp
This was an anniversary dinner that did not disappoint. I can count perfect meals on one hand. This was one of them. The ambiance was wonderful and the service was impeccable (thank you, Matt). We thoroughly enjoyed the cheese fondue for two which came with Black Forest ham, Genoa salami, cornichons, bread, and pearl onions. It says it is for two but could easily have served three or four. The schnitzel was thin and crispy with a light Buerre Blanc and buttery spaetzle. The cod was amazing with a saffron broth we wanted to dip bread into over and over. (The bread is homemade.) Lovely light vanilla bean creme brûlée. Truly a fantastic meal.

Yelp
Fantastic brunch! Beyond expectations! If you're looking for a brunch, this is it! Beautiful patio. Excellent, trained wait staff. Fantastic portions and quality.
