Steak was good, hard to go wrong with a steak really. Wife's fish pie was lovely. Kids meals, two types of pasta and a curry were just poorly made. One of my daughters said her curry was like Uncle Ben's. It was just a poor experience and we didn't go back.

Google
Great food and beautiful presentation. The atmosphere is really nice too. They serve food until late at night and families are welcome. Would recommend if you're doing the Ring of Kerry and looking for a good meal.

Came here on a cycle tour. Had a decent meal 🍴 and a few good pints in the beer garden. Served by a friendly waiter. Beware 'garden' is fully covered and enclosed. Looked like a place locals visit as well. Is missing an ipa but for the rest good choice

Google
We had traditional fish and chips at the blue bull restaurant which looked very nice. But unfortunately the taste of the food wasn't. The fish didn't have any taste at all and the potatoe chips (fries) were strange in taste and consistency. However the staff is extraordinarily friendly and courteous which is why I rate 3 stars, because I didn't really like the food.

I was in Sneem earlier this week with a group of friends and we ate and drank in here both nights. The food is exceptional! The beef and Guinness stew was a personal favourite. The service is also brilliant and it just has a very homely vibe. The prices are also very reasonable given how good the food is. Thanks for looking after us Dylan!

Google
They just nailed it. Fantastic staff, great food and a lovely atmosphere. They might be a bit more expensive then the competition here, but the few extra euro is well worth it.

The beef burger was delicious! I recommend to ask for the pepper sauce with it! Yummy

We went there off season during the long Easter weekend. The place is in the middle of Sneem and has a lot of indoor space plus some table outside. The food was amazing and we can recommend the local seafood pie and beef pie. It felt like home. On top of that the staff was very nice. I would recommend and come back again.

Yelp
Subpar eatery in downtown Sneem. We were here at lunch at it was uncountable quiet. They eventually turned on some music. I had the Guiness Stew, it was fine but barely warm. Service was adequate, but not warm.

Yelp
Came for the hen party and stayed for the cuisine! Lovely little spot with fabulous dishes and a warm atmosphere. It's a quaint little gem in a gorgeous town. Gracious hospitality in true Irish fashion, will definitely make it a regular destination.

Yelp
Great food. Had the Shepherds Pie. Delicious. The Pasta Primavera was exceptional. Lots of garlic if you love garlic! Curry was excellent. Recommend the half chips option. Would definitely return.

Yelp
Last time I ate here was back in 2008 when I was here for the year. Few times in between when I was home just had drinks or food wasn't being served at the time. Blue Bull has always had a great kitchen and menu to offer. A popular spot for decades now and a lot of history in the Blue Bull, like most bars/pubs around the village. Service is friendly and welcoming. It's being run by fine locals and they put a good product out there. The fish n chip dish are great, sub fresh veggies if you are watching the calories. They usually have a good roast along with pasta dishes and a great burger. Appetizers such as chicken wings and nachos are perfect. Wish more pubs in the area offered that. It's a nice touch. A great cozy, local pub with much history and great service and good food. A few tables outside when the weather is nice and plenty of space for families and groups alike.

Yelp
Best fish and chips ever! Friendly atmosphere and John was a great guy to talk. Enjoyed our visit with him.

Yelp
The food and atmosphere were great. We really liked the fish & chips and were surprised at how good the chicken panini was. Staff was very friendly! Grab a Guinness and hang out in the atrium room.

Yelp
Blue Bull is one of few restaurants located in Sneem proper, and one we really enjoy when visiting the Ring of Kerry. What I love about the town of Sneem itself is that it's definitely not a tourist destination, so the establishments in town aren't tourist traps. The Blue Bull is one of those awesome local watering holes full of charming, friendly townies. The ambiance is true Irish pub -- surprise, surprise -- and not the desperate, miss-the-mark attempts of most American Irish "pubs." It's authentic and real, with dark flooring, dark wooden furniture including the stools at the small bar, and a wonderful peat-burning fireplace at one end of the dining room. On chilly fall and spring visits to the Ring, it's the perfect place to enjoy a pint or a *real* Irish coffee, which they do remarkably well here at Blue Bull. The food is typical Irish pub fare, the likes of which you will find all over Ireland, but it's a step above at Blue Bull. The Irish stew is thick, rich, and satisfying, and served "Irish hot." In other words, scald your lips off piping. The fish and chips are fairly nice, and the shepherd's pie is worth a try. As usual, look to the chalkboard for the menu. A great comfortable place to pass an evening, enjoy a meal, and get your drink on with the Sneem locals.

Yelp
Food portion was enormous! Seriously, I could not finish the Wok they served! It was impossible, no matter with how much Guinness I tried to wash it down....wow! And I tried hard, because the food was extremely good and steaming hot. The Lady who served us was probably the Landlady, very friendly and down to earth. I had a small accident ( no, not that kind..) somehow I managed to spill the remaining Guinness on my husbands pants, the table and floor. Ups!!! Without even saying anything to her she approached us with some towels, smiling and not minding at all. We both tried to clean my husband and the floor. Otherwise I did like the ambiance, the music was somewhat Irish which gave you the assuring feeling of being in Ireland.

Yelp
We had been out for the day in Kilarney and were on our way back to Waterville and came across this small town of Sneem. It was getting on so we decided to park up and go for a meal. Fortunately we came across The Blue Bull, the food was excellent as was the Guinness and the wine we both had. The Chicken Bull Pasta which my partner had tasted excellent but the Irish Steak with a peppercorn & Whisky sauce was in my opinion even better, the steak was succulent and cooked exactly to my liking. The menu was extensive and had a good selection of specials and the staff were as in all the places we visited in Ireland friendly and pleasant.

Yelp
So worth the stop!! There are so few restaurants in Sneem and everyone we went to was amazing! The food was so good and the service was so fast especially considering how busy it was! This place is also very clean and well kept inside. My sister loved the Irish stew! Would definitely go here again!

Yelp
While stopping in Sneem during a recent tour of Ireland, our driver suggested the Blue Bull for lunch. I don't recall there really being many choices, so why not? They served your typical Irish fare, however I went with a burger and chips (fries). The burger was flavored more like a meatloaf (without the ketchup) than your traditional hamburger. It wasn't bad, but not my favorite meal of the trip by any means. The only complaint we had was the bee that kept flying around us as we tried to eat our meal. One of the other passengers was allergic to bees, so we all had to help keep it away from her.

Yelp
Chose wisely here in Sneem, on the Ring of Kerry. Family traveling in Ireland for 10 days. Stayed in an Air BNB for two days and discovered blue bull. Fish and Chips all around. Winner winner chicken dinner! This was the third time we had tried fish and chips. Best so far. Do yourself a favor, come to this restaurant.

Yelp
There are not a ton of dining options in Sneem. Based on some reading and research in advance, my friends and I concluded that this was the most highly recommended restaurant in town. We were in walking distance from the restaurant and were seated quite quickly upon entering. It was relatively full, which is always an encouraging sign. Our server was quite friendly and proactive. I opted for the fish and chips, which were good. For me the menu was a bit limited as I do not eat red meat. One of my friends got the lamb and was quite happy with it (I didn't sample it). The room we were sitting in had a ton of charm. There were a ton of vintage pieces sprinkled throughout the room. The crowd was a combination of both locals and tourists. Locals in the area we were sitting did strike up a conversation with visitors. One group got into quite a discussion about the fishing spots in County Kerry that shouldn't be missed. While not pertinent for my tastes, it was nice to witness the pride of the locals in sharing tips and tricks for enjoying the area. The menu should have something for everyone. All the food is just fine, but nothing truly memorable in my opinion.

Yelp
Nice place to eat in Sneem, very efficient staff and good food. The seafood chowder was delicious, as were the nachos and toasted sandwich. Big portions too, and pretty cheap. Very quiet when we are there (around 4 pm)

Yelp
So the other two reviewers aren't Irish and neither am I but i gotta tell ya, this place, while Irish, isn't the kind of place that serves great Irish food. Maybe the day we were here they were having a bad day, i don't know, but here are all the things that made this experience depressing. The service, perhaps can be forgiven? The food, not. Read on. We entered the place literally 10 seconds before the gigantic German tour bus. Perhaps they thought we were part of the tour, but they were short with us, and bored. And tired. And when the food was brought out into the outdoor picnic table area, they shouted the food at random. Which was kinda cool, but the Germans didn't speak up real loud and sometimes they walked back in and the German had to chase them. Bizarre and a tiny bit amusing. The chicken sandwich was dried out, tasteless cardboard chicken stuck between tasteless, cardboard, white bread with butter on it, and limp lettuce. Horrible. I ordered the fish and chips. The batter on the fish was awesome, the fish, ok. The chips were average. The beer, like everywhere else. My wife could not eat the sandwich and ordered a salad with beets and goat cheese. It was edible. Nothing more.

Yelp
Great, great, great place in Sneem. Delicious and gorgeous food and perfect service. We were the last ones to leave. Their specials were perfect, just roll the dice and it is highly doubtful you will be disappointed. 4.5 stars!

Yelp
Went to this cool little town looking for the wool market i got my favorite sweater from. Stopped into the blue bull cause it looked cool from the outside. Food is described as irish bar food. Absolutely delicious. Everything looked great but we settled on chicken wings for an app, irish stew and fish and chips. The stew was amazing, the fish and chips were incredible, tartar sauce was the best i have had and the wings were so good i didnt even use the sauce. Great vibe, cool decor and very friendly staff and crowd. The manager also has a wealth if knowledge about the area and recommended some changes to our itinerary that spared us a lot of misery in traffic behind tour buses and getting fleeced intourist trips. Cant wait till next trip to go back.

Yelp
When in Sneem, this is the place to go to. Excellent food, atmosphere and people. Right in center of town. Wish they were in the US.

Yelp
Yummy. Stopped in here on our bus tour for a little bite to eat. Had a goat cheese, pesto and sun dried tomato on ciabatta. With a Guinness of course. It was the best toasted sandwich I have had in awhile. Fresh, toasted to order and quick. And thanks Mike for taking care of us!

Yelp
Very friendly staff who was quick about getting our drinks. Great atmosphere and very clean. The fish and chips were amazing, and a heaping portion at that. The lamb stew was very well made. Highly recommend!

Steven K.

Yelp
Very average food. The vegetable soup was bland. Fish and Chios wasn't bad. Not sure if there's anything better in Sneem.

Roy S.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Michael, our waiter was attentive and has a great sense of humor. He likes to be called "sir," by the way. ;)

Yelp
Great little pub on the Southwest coast of Ireland if you are traveling through the ring of Kerry. Staff was great, very friendly and attentive. Food was good, my wife had the special of the day and I stuck with the traditional fish and chips. If you want to treat yourself, I highly recommend the homemade Apple Crumble.

Yelp
On May 16, 2016 we spent the night near Sneem, our last night before heading to Dublin for the flight home after visit to England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. Rather than eating at the hotel we went into town for something local. Couldn't have been happier. Michael, our waiter, was attentive and his sense of humor was entertaining. My wife and I travel. We are not food snobs but know good from mediocre. This was VERY good. We spend a great deal of time in Maine and I surely don't wish to offend Maine but my wife, the mussel addict, had the best bowl of mussels she's every tasted. They were served in a cream and garlic sauce but what made them so tasty was that they were fresh. The seafood pasta that i had was equally satisfying. We highly recommend the Blue Bull for the food and the ambiance of the bar.
