My stay at the Blue Orchid Hotel in the Philippines was absolutely incredible! From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the warm hospitality (In particular, Rey + Nikita), stunning surroundings, and top-notch service. The food was exceptional—every meal was a delightful mix of fresh local flavors and expertly prepared dishes. But the real highlight was the excursions, especially the diving! Exploring the vibrant underwater world was an unforgettable experience, thanks to the hotel’s well-organized trips and knowledgeable guides. Whether relaxing by the beach or embarking on thrilling adventures, every moment at the Blue Orchid Hotel was pure perfection. I can’t wait to return!

Amazing for diving and snorkling. Very family friendly but could also be nice for couples. Amazing staff, very friendly and overall a very good resort. Amazing dive resort. Right on the water with beautiful scenery. Great coral dives as they have a coral wall right out frount of resort which was our favourite of the trip.

We went here to get our Advanced & Open water certification. The instructors were great and took their time explaining all the exercises. Felt very safe and enjoyed the dives!! The sardine run here is something we came for and amazed us a lot, definitely recommend this place! The owner, Michael, is also very helpful and provided us with a lot of information in advance.

Warmth, kindness and an absolute joy to stay at Blue Orchid. The resort is nestled serenely in nature with beautifully growing trees, serenading songbirds and you have a vast reef right in front of you each morning. I completed my Advanced open water dive with Adam at the resort. We had varied dives visiting the sardines run and the night dive where we were lucky to see 3 turtles. Very patient and good humoured too. Hospitality of staff is another level, with genuine warmth and kindness to make your stay extra special. Always accommodating to any travel arrangements or in my case a very late night BLT on arrival. I met a wonderful array of people with insightful conversations. Be sure to speak to everyone, from the staff and Michael too. For a stay in Moalboal that is peaceful, away from the business of life and offers you absolute joy, be sure to stay at Blue Orchid.

I’ve never written a review before but the staff were so friendly and accommodating I couldn’t resist. Michael the owner on hearing of my sun burns brought fresh aloe to my room unprompted to help. The view from the room was amazing especially during a storm. The hotel is out of town so nice and quiet if that’s what you’re looking for. The diving was amazing, Nathan was a great guide and the night dive was so easy just walking out from the hotel. Such an amazing experience.

It’s a lovely spot to base yourself for diving for a few days. Super nice staff. Rooms are clean. Air conditioning works.||Do be advised you are 20 minutes by bumpy trike from the shops and village. No big deal but their in house restaurant is a little quirky. When we arrived they said last order was at 730. Ok no problem, we will plan accordingly. Then at 640 while swimming in the pool I get asked what I want for dinner as the kitchen is closing. Umm, relax, this is. It what was communicated to us.||I get out of the pool at 7 and the second guy approaches me. What do you want for dinner? I will tell you before last order at 730.||This behavior is a little stressful when the nearest option is a ways down a bumpy road. We got our dinner on the end but vowed never to dinner there again. My advice - follow the rules posted at your own pool and relax and mellow. No worries, no time constraints.||Diving is excellent. You can’t miss the sardine run and by doing it from the resort you miss the beach touts in town. The only hiccups were #1 - they made an unplanned stop in town (at the beach) on the first day between dives. Had they have told us we would have brought money to get a cool drink.||The #2 was more serious. We were a bit bummed we didn’t get pictures of our first day diving. We asked if they had a camera. They said no problem, 1000 pesos per day - here’s the form. Why didn’t they offer proactively the first day?||However the camera had a low charged and died within 10 minutes. The pictures we salvaged were of poor quality. Why would you invest all this money in diving gear, boats and staff and not offer a decent camera? Stuff like this blows my mind but probably just me.||Be aware they only clean every second day. No big deal but if you are trying to save the plumbing it would be nice if they removed the dirty toilet paper from the room bins without asking.||I’m not trying to be harsh here, just pointing out simple things they can do to raise their travel appeal.||On the room cleaning I will note that on those days they don’t clean the room they definitely enter the rooms to turn off unnecessary lights and air con. Perhaps this is when they can do a toilet paper change?||I’d also love them to have ice readily available as there are no fridges and it’s freaking hot.||Great value for money though and if you want the joys of Moalboal without the touts give it a go.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and had a fantastic time. It’s located right on the water with breathtaking views. The owner is really friendly and very accommodating. The food is good. Highly recommend you stay here if you’re in the area. They will also help you with diving. Definitely planning a trip back. Thank you to the amazing staff here!

100% GOOD! |The Hotel stays on a spectacular location: just in front of a very nice coral reef wall... And have a really nice view. ||I went with my family (13 and 16 years old teenagers). They done scuba dive course and some fun dives... This resort have a Dive Center inside the hotel, with friendly divemasters and good dive equipment (and the price is the best!) ||Michael (the owner, from England) is a very nice person. He and all his staff treated us very well... Also they helped us to organize a trip to OSLOB - to snorkel with whale sharks. Very interesting.||Another positive point of the hotel is that you can massage on a cliff listening the sound of the sea. Trust me... This is GOOD!||Restaurant is good... With western and Asian food.

Yelp
First off, wow! This place was such a good find. I googled best resorts to stay in Moalboal and this was listed right near the top and I can't agree more. The rooms are beautiful, the ocean is clear and great for diving/ snorkeling, and the grounds are wonderful. The location is remote enough to give you privacy while still being only a quick ride to town or nightlife. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. The food was the best I have had in the Philippines. But the greatest part about staying at Blue Orchid was the convenience. Need a ride? Want to do an excursion? Want to rent a scooter? No problem! The staff gets it done for you swiftly and at a reasonable rate. Plus you can add all the fees to your final bill. That way you don't have to constantly pull out your wallet or stop at ATMs. I can't say enough good things about this place. If you are looking for an amazing place to stay in Moalboal or Cebu in general, I definitely recommend Blue Orchid Resort!

Yelp
There's this little place I know on the island of Cebu that I have no qualms recommending. But only if you're into sunshine, beaches, good times and adventures. If that doesn't sound like you, then this little piece of paradise might be wasted on you. If you're down for a little r&r with a healthy dose of open ocean, then don't go past Blue Orchid Resort. Sure, the rooms are comfy and the food is good. There's a great spot overlooking the water to read or practise yoga while listening to the lapping waves below. And you can relax without a care in the world beside the pool. The best bit, however, is the house reef directly in front of the resort. Grab a snorkel and flippers and get exploring - with tropical fish, healthy corals and more than a couple of sea turtles floating around it's a bit like swimming in a giant, fully stocked aquarium. If diving is more your thing, affable and skilled resort managers Liz and Adam will happily you suit up and take you on an oceanic adventure. No matter your skills Liz and Adam are the perfect hosts - both on land and in the sea. There's nothing better than spending all day getting hot and salty, before rinsing off and watching the sun set with a cold beer. This is the perfect spot to do that. Trust me.

Yelp
Stayed here for a night with my husband, 10 month old baby, mom and cousin. We had the pool side room with one double bed and 3 single beds. We came in very late (11pm) from Cebu City and someone was waiting for us! We was the night shift bartender and we can tell he wasn't used to accommodating incoming guests but he was still very helpful! It was raining the next day but the resort was still beautiful! Wish we could've stayed there longer. They were also very helpful with getting us a tricycle to get to town and accommodated by mom and baby after checkout time while we were out on a boat tour. The only downside to this place is getting there. Since we came really late the road to get there was so sketchy. No road lights, no paved road, tall grass around.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I loved our stay here. This is a great resort! All the staff and the owner were lovely - so nice and courteous. There are plenty of great spots to watch an awesome sunset from (even from our room). Food menu is great - plenty of variety. Our favorites were the chicken BLT sandwich and mango shakes (I liked requesting it with rum or vodka). WiFi is available in the common areas, and it's best to use it outside dinner and lunch times for best speeds. Definitely take a scuba course while you're here. The instructors are great, and the house reef is beautiful. The location is isolated, so you have peace and quiet, and you can rent a moto for the day, and they provide helmets, if you wish. It's a short (~15 minute) drive away from Panagsama Beach, which has restaurants, bars, scuba shops, snorkeling rentals, and you can catch the marvelous sardine run. The staff is able to coordinate getting a trike for travel to nearby areas and cars for trips to places, like the airport. Booking activities through the resort is a breeze and hassle-free (massage, canyoning, whale sharks, scuba, snorkeling, etc.). As mentioned on their site and emails, it is cash-only, but they also offer payment through PayPal for a small fee (4%, I think?). I would only recommend that they add more alcoholic drink options, as I did think the list was a bit limiting (piña coladas, please? :-)). Also, I did always end up asking for doubles. They use standard measuring, but I never tasted (nor felt the effects of) any alcohol with the normal serving. With doubles, I could begin to taste it a bit. (No, alcohol does not run through my veins. I drink sparingly, so I typically feel the alcohol quite fast). I would definitely recommend BOR.
