The Blue Orchid Resort Moalboal

Really professional dive shop and an amazing area to be diving in in general. The resort itself was clean and comfortable. Really couldn't recommend it enough, it was a really great week.||Michael and the team are also extremely responsive and that helped to give me a lot of confidence when booking the trip.

We had an excellent stay at Blue Orchid in North Moalboal. The resort is beautifully maintained and set right on the seafront, with a peaceful open area where you can unwind and take in the sea views. Though there’s no beach, the spacious seating area more than made up for it, and the pool is a good size for relaxing. We did our PADI training here, and though we’ll review that separately, it was a superb experience. The room itself was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out, with stunning sea views and a cozy tropical decor. We enjoyed the hot shower after a day of diving, and the room was spotlessly clean, with decent noise isolation between rooms that ensured a restful night’s sleep. Food at the resort was varied with decent vegetarian and vegan options, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Michael, the manager, brings a personal touch to the place. English but born in Africa and well-travelled, he has a rich backlog of stories and is approachable and friendly, speaking several languages (~7 in total?) Though it may be a bit pricier than other options in Moalboal, we felt it was well worth it for the quality and the calm, slightly remote location. It’s set away from the main town, which we saw as a plus, adding to the relaxed vibe of the stay. For anyone looking to venture into Moalboal, the resort rents out motor scooters at around 650 PHP a day, making it easy to get to the busier areas when you want a change of scene. Overall, a wonderful base for a North Moalboal escape, with everything you need for both adventure and relaxation. We'd love to make it back one day!

Looking for a smaller family-run resort, Blue Orchid is a really good bet. The family is visible, extremely hospitable and they always have time for a chat. There are smiles and laughter here, if something is missing, just mention it. The reception is run by work aways who are also friendly and very helpful. It is possible to snorkel right off the Resort. If you want Paddy diving instead, that is also an option. The resort has 2 boats that leave daily. Just as you can get regret trips and hire schooners- Best recommendations from me

We had an absolutely amazing time at the Blue Orchid Resort! The serene atmosphere, stunning ocean views, and the privacy it offers make it the perfect destination for a romantic getaway. The snorkeling right off the shore is breathtaking, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.||||We also have to mention that ChatGPT recommended this place to us, and it was spot on! If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful, and unforgettable experience in Moalboal, this is the place to be. Highly recommend!||||On top of all, I forgot my passport and went to Cebu, and the owner went out of his way to bring it back to me the next day!!!!

We were given a warm wecome by Emily when we arrived. Although there was a mix-up with the rooms, it was sorted quickly and we spent the afternoon enjoying a snorkel and a swim.|The room and beds were comfy and clean. I enjoyed the peacefulness of the place. |I lost the room key whilst snorkeling and they did not make a fuss about. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.|I would definitely recommend it.

We stayed here for four nights in Feb 2025. It was wonderful! If you want something off the beaten path, very quiet and serene, this is your spot. Wonderful snorkeling, beautiful big rooms, beachfront, nestled in amongst huge trees and foliage. Gorgeous sunsets, great staff, onsite restaurant and bar with very good meals. We went into Moaboal one evening (800 pesos for a round trip for four people), took about 20 mins (very bumpy roads - beware).

My wife and I just spent 5 blissful days at the Blue Orchid. The resort in a very peaceful area away from all the noisy bars. We did venture out a couple evenings, the staff arranged tuk tuk only 300 pesos to town. Having said there was an excellent choice of western and local dishes at the hotel restaurant. They even organised fresh crab for my wife. Now the best bit, their on site diving centre provides free snorkelling equipment and wet suits and wow the snorkelling off the beach is some of the best i have experienced. Just swim out to the reef and drift along for an hour and then walk back along the beach - heaven! The owners Micheal and Neriza and all the staff were lovely and happy to help with tours and transfers. They also have another resort nearby the Wild Orchid which we also visited.
