The Boat Jetty Bungalow

The boat jetty bungalow is now a bedbug bungalow. The entire hotel is spreaded by the bedbugs. Toilet bathroom are clean. Space short. Cheaper in prize. Owner or manager good in behaviour. Blanket are old or with bad smell.

Pleasant stay. good behavior from the staff and owner. Affordable rate, easy access, near to boat jetty bus stand. Walkable distance from marine drive, 1km away from maharaja's collage metro station.

3.5 stars. Nothing much to hoot over besides it's decently maintained rooms and the close proximity to multiple locations such as MG road, Durbar hall road, boat jetty itself etc.. Please note that the towels, toiletries, even blankets are provided at an extra charge. It's clean all over and the staff is good, so you won't mind staying here for any stop overs. Would have rated 4 if the rooms were rightly priced.

The building in itself is a gorgeous, meticulously renovated and maintained period building. It's bang at the end of the ferry jetty and not far form Ernakulam station. It's a budget hotel so the rooms and their en-suite are compact but spotlessly clean and tidy. The staff are attentive, efficient and very friendly. Because it's an old building the insulation is excellent and we thought at first we were the only ones in the hotel! You can however hear street noises, but by Ernakulam standards it is a very quiet street. Being so close to the jetty we spent our time in Fort Cochin and back to our hotel after dinner (ferries run to 9.30pm), conveniently paying way less than the average Fort Cochin price tag. Absolutely recommended.

Pretty decent place at a pretty decent price. Right next to the ferry port to get over to Fort Kochi. Only gripe was we had paid for AC in 6 rooms and they had turned it off at the front desk when we got back in the evening. They were more than happy. To turn it back on but still struck me as a little shady seeing as the rooms are unpowered without keys so there wouldn't have been any power wastage anyway. Other than that very helpful and friendly stuff, clean rooms and reasonable bathrooms.

What can I say. As a location this is the best place. If you are young and without a care it is perfect! If you are older, the cleanliness and freedom from a visit by a rat might not be your mantra. I felt it was honest, but dated for the money,

Very good location, near the boat jetty to go to Cochin; walkable distance to the center. Charming old house, heritage of the owner, an helpful and hospitable guest. The room was clean and not noisy, facing towards the court, except for air con! Breakfast is available on demand. Good value.

Alex, the owner, is 7th Generation of his family living in this nice old building, and is friendly and helpful, as were his staff. |Don’t expect anything too flash. The rooms are basic, but clean. The beds are a bit on the hard side and the wifi was only available if you sat out the front entrance area, but was woefully slow. However, it was cheap and the room had a/c and it is excellently placed for ferries over to Fort Chochi and some great places to eat.
