Lovely Hotel with really high ceilings and chandeliers in every room! - Spacious rooms with a lovely large window. Rooms are airy and warm and the coffee machine was really appreciated. We had the double townhouse type room but the bed wasn't a double, it was 2 singles pushed together. I hate this, but it seems quite standard nowadays. The hotel is architecturally superb, the staff are really polite. The bar has snacks like burger or fish and chips. Its a bit pretentious, I had only 6 chips, but they were all the same size and really thick, stacked up like a game of jenga! Beware of the service charge though, it will be between £5 and £10 for a meal or two in the bar. Staff are really polite and helpful. Its really quiet in your room, we couldnt hear anything from adjacent rooms and had a nice view of the road, Only disadvantage really is the location. Most of the attractions are at the "other end" of princes street, so you have a mile walk to the station or the main indoor shopping centre. Everything you want is in one direction. But the area "dean village" - does feel really safe.

What a fab location, nice and quiet with a lovely view over the communal garden. We had a room on the third floor with amazing views over Edinburgh. The room was clean and well presented, with some lovely touches you wouldn't normally see. Also had a small carpark at the back of the hotel. The best part was the lovely staff.. all so friendly and willing to help. We would love to come back again

This is a great hotel hidden away in a quiet part of the west end but not far from the city centre. It provides 5 star quality at 4 star prices. The hotel is very well kept and feels opulent, the staff are very helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. We stayed for a long weekend and will definitely return when we next stay in Edinburgh.

Everything about this hotel was wonderful. Room very nice indeed and we had just a normal double room. Staff service is excellent throughout the hotel. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Dinner very reasonably priced and excellent food. Breakfast is really really good and the bar is very very comfortable with wonderful ambience. On site parking which is such a bonus for City Cente and even if its full, you leave your keys and they sort it all out so you can relax.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to your wonderful hotel for the warm hospitality and excellent service we received during our stay. This was our first visit to Edinburgh, and both my husband and I, coming from Saudi Arabia, were truly impressed by the city and by your outstanding hospitality. Thank you for your kind attention to our 3rd wedding anniversary and for preparing such a lovely welcome with macarons and chocolate. It added a beautiful touch to our special day. The reception was warm, the service was exceptional, and the staff were always polite, friendly, and smiling. We truly appreciate this memorable experience, and we look forward to returning to the same hotel on our next visit to Edinburgh. With sincere thanks and appreciation Ahmed & maram

Our wedding reception dinner at The Bonham was splendid. The staff were exceptionally helpful and worked with us beforehand to make sure everything went perfectly. The dinner itself was quite possibly the finest we’ve experienced. The food was delicious, and the service was seamless. Cannot recommend enough, and we will be returning if we’re ever in Edinburgh again.

Old and it shows. The carpet in the room was dirty with patches. The furniture covers were old and not clean. Likely not been updated in a while. Service was good. Breakfast was ok in terms of taste. Everything felt old and not kept up well. Location is good.

The Bonham has far exceeded most luxury hotels I’ve visited! They’ve perfected the details around your stay. From providing milk and water in your room for tea and coffee to the wonderful cookies left on the beds at check in. The staff is incredibly attentive, detail oriented, and friendly! They provided great recommendations around the city and always offered excellent service. The rooms feel cozy and welcoming. The hotel itself is GORGEGOUS and has so much history (also extremely central! Everywhere is walkable). We were extremely happy with our stay and will be recommending the hotel to all friends and family.

Yelp
A lovely hotel! My mother and I stayed here for two nights while visiting Scotland and it was a wonderful experience. The hotel is a great distance from Dean Village which is a beautiful place to visit along with the Art gallery which was sadly closed during our visit. Their breakfast was delicious, just as their afternoon tea was, with many wonderful vegan and vegetarian options. The service was lovely for our entire stay. And the staff was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were gorgeous and ours had a wonderful view of the city. A great hotel option while visiting Scotland!

Yelp
We stayed at the Bonham Hotel our first night in Scotland, 09/13/22. After a hectic day flying then dealing with Eidinburgh road closures we were finally able to get the hotel after dining at the harbor and hiking Arthur's walk. Conveniently located in Edinburgh's west end, this posh, art-filled hotel is an 8-minute walk from the bars, brasseries and boutiques on George Street, and an 11-minute walk from Haymarket train station. This hotel offers friendly service, elegant dining and comfortable rooms. However, much to our disappointment we were assigned a basement level room without reasons. While this room was comfortable and clean, it would not have been my first choice. We should have at least been given a reason as to why a basement level room was the best option at check-in. Hence this is the only reason I am not eating this hotel a 5.

Yelp
We loved our stay at The Bonham Hotel. It can be found in a rather inconspicuous location and I was apprehensive when our driver dropped us off but all my fears were quelled when we walked into the lobby. This is a beautiful boutique hotel located in a quieter part of town but walking distance to all of the popular Edinburgh landmarks. The decor is stunning, made up of awesome furniture and beautiful paintings that look like they belong in a museum and even the light fixtures were gorgeous. The rooms had a lot of modern features while giving off a cozy vibe. They were a tad small but I think that's common in Europe. My room had a beautiful view of Dean's Bridge. The bathroom was spacious and I really liked the amenities. The breakfast options were all very tasty as were the room service options. Also, they were very quick to bring out your food, something I never see in America. The staff were friendly and super helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Yelp
Lovely. Simply lovely. This hotel located in the West End of New Town in Edinburgh, is in a historic row of town homes located across from a private park. From the moment you pull open the large front door- you will feel that you must be staying at a posh friend's home. The front desk staff is personable and friendly and for this tired traveler who arrived at 10am in the morning- I was thrilled that they had acknowledged my early check in request which meant my room was ready and I could grab a couple of hours of sleep before heading out to take a look around. Now while all rooms are not as opulent as the suite I had, they are also nicely appointed. My suite had a bedroom that overlooked the park, there was an attached private sitting room and large bath with a footed tub and shower complete with body sprays. The 15 foot ceilings soared above me and allowed for a magnificent canopied bed to be the centerpiece of the room. The bed was a dream to sleep in . . .thick duvet, with personal robes and slippers and even a throw if you wanted to sit on the couch and read. There was even a full sized ironing board, iron and a very good hair dryer. Internet access if free but you will have to ask for a code at the front desk. Breakfast is included in your room rate each day. You have a choice of a buffet or hot breakfast and the food and service is quite good. There is also a small bar area off of the lounge which is open for afternoon tea or a glass of wine before bed. But since they are so accommodating- my favorite place to sit was in the main lobby by the windows sipping a glass of wine and sharing a dessert. The staff is happy to help you no matter where you sit. The Bonham is within walking distance of all of the sights of Edinburgh and since it is in the New Town, also has many restaurants around it that are not full of tourists but good places to meet and hang out with the locals. And it's only about 20 minutes from the airport. If you are going to be in Edinburgh for business or pleasure- check out The Bonham. It was a delight to stay here!

Yelp
We had our work Christmas lunch here and it was fantastic. We pre-ordered our meals which really helped me as I am vegetarian and it allowed me to check all the ingredients with the chef before the day. For example the risotto had Parmesan cheese in it, so they make me a pumpkin risotto with veggie friendly cheese. They even sourced a veggie friendly wine which was awesome. Great service and food. We then moved through to the bar for drinks. It was such a great atmosphere with the fire going and the Christmas decorations up. Top notch, loved it.

Yelp
Comfortable boutique hotel. Good breakfast. Kevin at front desk is wonderful. Spot on restaurant reservation. Ian at the front desk should not be in the service industry. Telling a customer, "I'm sorry you feel that way" does not solve a problem. It's a service industry way of saying, "I don't care". Beautiful view from our room. Bed a bit hard and sheets not soft.

Yelp
Am I glad I bought the voucher for an afternoon tea at the Bonham Hotel in New Town! It was a dull day, but this cannot be said from the lovely afternoon tea served at the Bonham. We were the first guests to arrive after booking a week in advance. The man on the other side of the telephone was notably polite. The lady at the reception welcomed us and lead us to another area. The bar and lounge were transformed in a comfortable afternoon tea with a working fireplace. Typical old Scottish style interior design. Just lovely. We were able to chose any kind of tea from a menu (even coffee) and the hot water refill kept coming. First drink served was the Strawberry and Tasmanian Peppers Kir Royal in very stylish and heavy champagne glasses. There was lot of champagne in the glass and nothing was spared! Then came the trier with little finger sandwiches (salmon, egg, tuna, cheese.....) - lots of them - as well as Gateau opera ,Lemon Tart, Macaroons (Bonham specialty) and Mini Sweet Treats. There was nothing I did not like. Even the Penna cotta treats were tasting delightful. The service was formal and without fault, explicit manners. What can I say, I will definitely be back for another afternoon tea during the long winter months.

Yelp
a beautiful boutique hotel across from a gated park in an elegant accessible part of Edinburgh. The hotel restored from three historic now integrated townhouses is simply gorgeous with attractive antiques from rugs to draperies to comfortable chairs. The bathrooms are large and modern with fluffy towels and quality soaps and beyond. The dining room is homelike and the menu is exceptional - the best salmon anywhere for dinner. Breakfast is fresh with eggs and bread and more. The staff is not only attentive but very knowledgeable about the city of Edinburgh and Scotland in depth. A memorable and beautiful experience -perfect in every way Recommended to stay for tea

Yelp
I originally rated this place as 5 stars for their afternoon tea (itison voucher). My second afternoon tea experience here just didn't live up to my high expectations though. I did wonder if they'd let their high standards slip given the huge success of the vouchers. Yes they have! :( Small niggles.....: 1/ why bother asking someone at the point of booking if there are any dietary requirements if they then ignore the 'no fish please' request and add salmon sandwiches to the plate?!? 2/ scones were overbaked, just edging over slightly on the side of burnt. There is NO WAY a quality kitchen should have let these go out. The scone is the central part of any afternoon tea so if they can't get that right..... 3/ don't tell someone you're fully booked if you're not! We sat in the bar area ourselves with no music the whole time and it was only as we were finishing that another party came in. 4/ chocolate cup cakes were again overbaked! All in all, disappointing. I won't buy another voucher for here again. There is no excuse not to keep the standards high in a place like this. With sooooo many places doing afternoon tea now in edinburgh you need amazing quality to stand out. I originally thought this place one of the best teas in Edinburgh but I fully retract that now. Shoddy. **Grumpy Laura**

Yelp
I recently attended the Bonham Bubbles event here which showcased the hotel and restaurant's collaboration with Piper-Heidsieck champagne. - For just £50 you are treated either to a three course meal or afternoon tea, both with unlimited Piper champagne! With a duration time of 2.5 hours, that's a whole lot of bubbles! Piper-Heidsieck and the Bonham exude glamour in equal amounts and I can't think of a better pairing for a luxurious afternoon of lunch or afternoon tea. Considering the quality of the food and champagne along with the beautiful Bonham surroundings, I'd say that it'd be worth every penny for a special treat. Lunch was perfect in every sense of the word. From the carrot and star anise soup with ricotta and coriander gnocchi to the chicken with summer truffles, wild asparagus and girolles mushroom. - Delectable! Finally, a lick-your-lips praline chocolate brownie that I wish I could savour for an eternity. Served with a scoop of Madagascan vanilla ice cream, this was a one-way trip to dessert heaven and a truly delicious way to end the afternoon. All in all, a memorable lunch that'll be hanging on my tastebuds for a while yet. I just had to write a review for the Bonham after the event because it was such a delight to spend time there and every bite of every dish was heaven-sent. If I was that bit closer to the Bonham and my impoverished post-student-life bank balance would stretch as far to dine here...Why, I'd be there in a heartbeat!

Yelp
Surely purveyors of Edinburgh's current best dinner deal? £20 per head for 3 courses plus half a bottle of house wine each strikes me as being very good. Ideally I'd award 4 & a half stars as my only minor issues with the place were no obvious restaurant staff in sight when we first arrived and the veg with our main courses was over-salted. The service, fish, meat & desserts were all excellent, the wine very drinkable and the overall ambience very relaxed. Seldom am I of a mind to have a dessert wine but was certainly in the mood this night with such a winning combination of other elements.

Yelp
A nice room at a premium price, so it's what you would expect really. The quality of the food is what let this place down. I am pretty sure at breakfast I got 3 (count them!) mushrooms. The ceasar salad I ordered from room service was pretty slimy while the soup was very bland (and again hardly any bread). The gym is also pretty antiquated, thoguh I suppose its good they've wedged one in.

Yelp
i went to the Bonham for an anniversary meal and it was pretty good. The decor was modern and luxurious and the staff attentive without being pushy. The food was good, although was a touch over seasoned in my opinion. I would probably go back again

Yelp
I was invited out by a friend to dinner at the restaurant at The Bonham. The hotel is located in a series of old Victorian houses in the west end. It's off the main road so is quite but it is easy to get to. I was expecting good food and excellent service and I was not disappointed. The waiting staff were very pleasant and the food just melted in the mouth. We weren't upset by the price either as it was very reasonable for the quality of food and the service. I'll definatly go back again.

Yelp
Lunch at bonham's was a very good experience. Quality of food was excellent, service good and nice relaxing environment. A little bit pricey for the house wine, but otherwise perfect!
