Lovely Hotel with really high ceilings and chandeliers in every room! - Spacious rooms with a lovely large window. Rooms are airy and warm and the coffee machine was really appreciated. We had the double townhouse type room but the bed wasn't a double, it was 2 singles pushed together. I hate this, but it seems quite standard nowadays.
The hotel is architecturally superb, the staff are really polite. The bar has snacks like burger or fish and chips. Its a bit pretentious, I had only 6 chips, but they were all the same size and really thick, stacked up like a game of jenga!
Beware of the service charge though, it will be between £5 and £10 for a meal or two in the bar.
Staff are really polite and helpful. Its really quiet in your room, we couldnt hear anything from adjacent rooms and had a nice view of the road,
Only disadvantage really is the location. Most of the attractions are at the "other end" of princes street, so you have a mile walk to the station or the main indoor shopping centre. Everything you want is in one direction. But the area "dean village" - does feel really safe.
