Exceptional service, food and atmosphere. I came to the Botanist Social for my Birthday dinner with my Husband and my 15 year old. I made a reservation online the night prior, for 7:00 pm and we were seated right away when we got there. The restaurant has a moody, but lively atmosphere. There is a large window at the front that they had open. I enjoyed the fresh air while dining, but still being inside. At the time it was lightly raining which was really nice. The lighting and decor is really beautiful. Everything was clean and well maintained. For drinks my husband got the pain killer which he really enjoyed. I stuck with a Diet Coke and my daughter wanted to stick with water. Our waitress kept all 3 of our water glasses filled without having to ask. She was very kind and hospitable. The waitress and hostess went above and beyond for us. We asked if we could move to the corner booth because it was bit more cozy, secluded and had really nice decor. Our waitress spoke with the hostess who then checked with a manager to make sure it was okay we switched tables. That was very kind of them and I know it was probably a bit much to ask, but my husband insisted to me we ask because he wanted my Birthday dinner to be a little more special. I really appreciated how sweet and kind the hostess and waitress were about it and made it seem like it was no big deal, when I know it was an above and beyond request. I really wish I could remember their names, but they were amazing. The food was really, very good. We got cheese curds and lettuce wraps for our appetizers. The cheese curds were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, they were very good, but could have used a little more cheese. The lettuce wraps were outstanding. The lettuce was crisp and fresh and the chicken was juicy and tender with a delicious teriyaki sauce. We all ate both appetizers right up and were basically full before our food came, but then we somehow managed to almost finish all of our dishes. For entrees I actually got an appetizer, I got the forest mushroom flat bread. The caramelized onion, fontina, and white truffle oil all worked really well with each other. It was delicious and very easy to eat. My Husband got the steak and mushroom pasta. He said he was full, but could not stop eating it because he said it was so good. I tried a bite and it was melt in your mouth good. The pappardelle noodles were huge and balance really well with the pieces of steak. The garlic cream sauce was also notable and very good. My daughter got the lobster roll with the truffle fries. It was her first time trying a lobster roll and she really enjoyed it. She also really liked the fries. I had a couple and they were very good. I had to take the rest of my flatbread home because I was so full. I wish we could have tried dessert, but we were far too full. I highly recommend The Botanist Social for dinners, or even just for drinks. It has a really nice vibe overall. It is on the pricier side, but the food quality, the atmosphere and presentation of their drinks and food justify the cost, in my opinion. They also have a large bar, a nice little lounge area at the front and plenty of tables for seating for dining. I would recommend making a reservation to be safe, because they do get busy from what I saw. I will definitely be back in the future, I really enjoyed my birthday dinner.

Bestie and I have been regulars for 3 or 4 years maybe. Love that they have my favorite gin, Monkey 47! Their craft cocktails are *chef's kiss* and the vibe is everything! Tonight, I came when they opened to work a little, then bestie arrived. Love all the staff we've ever met with Caleb, our fave! Go and get yourself a social shot with Kylin, too!

Google
Fun place to come for drinks & apps (not sure if I’d go again for dinner)! The drinks are pretty nice, especially enjoyed the “shy girl”. We also had the cheese curds & forest mushroom flatbread, both of which were delicious. We didn’t love the fingerling potatoes as much though. Overall, it’s a pretty cool atmosphere, so I’d likely come again for drinks & snacks/dessert.

Google
Gf dish on menu was NOT gf (Rosemary shrimp) but I was comped after eating some of it and realizing what it was. Short ribs were tender but dry, cocktails were overly sweet. First time last time.

Had been here once before but stopped in for one Sunday drink. The atmosphere is top notch for State Street. If you’re lucky enough to have Kylin as your bartender, you’re in for great conversation and perfect drinks, though our food experience last time was good too. We got the Last Word cocktail which we knew to be great. Also the Sailor Saturn. It sounds like a lot of gin and rum from the description, but it goes down smooth. Must visit place! AND they have Chartreuse!

My wife and I recently visited The Botanist Social for a date night, and it exceeded our expectations. The food was exceptional, starting with appetizers that set the tone for the evening. We shared their cheese curds, mushroom flatbread, and salmon bruschetta — all delicious and beautifully presented. For our main courses, we enjoyed the ribeye and the short rib pasta. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. Their handcrafted cocktails were also a highlight, adding a perfect touch to the dining experience. The atmosphere at The Botanist Social is vibrant and inviting, located right on an iconic street in Madison, WI. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy fantastic food, and soak in great vibes. Highly recommend for a date night or special occasion!

Google
We usually stop in here for cocktails when we’re visiting Madison and have always loved the atmosphere, so this time we decided to stay for dinner, too. This time, my daughter and I ordered drinks, apps, and entrées. The cocktails were excellent — my daughter had the Aloha, My Love and I tried the gin Paloma (both $14). We started with the teriyaki chicken lettuce wraps ($20), which were good, and the standout of the night was the pappardelle steak and mushroom pasta ($28), absolutely amazing. The only downside was service at the start; our waitress didn’t acknowledge us for about 15-20 minutes, even though it wasn’t busy. Thankfully, the hostess was friendly and the food/drink quality made up for that. All in all, we spent about $100 and would definitely return for that pasta and the atmosphere.

Google
We were able to get seated early before our reservation. Wait time was excellent. Got our drink orders right away. Ordered the steak medallions and the steak/mushroom pasta. Both tasted great and were large enough for leftovers. Steak was cooked exactly medium rare. Will definitely return. Kinda loud when it's packed with other people, but the place is beautiful.

Yelp
Kylin and Taylor were AMAZING. They catered to our every need and filled us up with lots of yummy drinks and food. We will definitely be back very soon.

Yelp
We came to town for a quick visit and came to Botanist Social two nights in a row! We had a great time... Alex was an all-star mixologist! He made spectacular drinks we ordered and had even better recommendations that were creative and delicious!

Yelp
fantastic ambience. The service was kind and efficient. I am obsessed with the decor. I do wish that the there was more seating at times. If you are eating I highly recommend making a reservation! ordered: raspberry mango sangria

Yelp
Definitely recommend this lovely restaurant for dinner! We have Overture tickets and wanted to grab dinner and they got us in without a reservation ( on a Friday night) and the food, service, atmosphere and vibe all make this experience great! We will be back! Prices are great and worth every penny!!

Yelp
This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. Service was poor from start to finish--our water glasses were constantly empty, and it felt like we were forgotten most of the night. Not the experience you expect from a $100 date night. The restaurant charges a 3% fee for using a credit card, which is absurd at a place that presents itself as upscale. On top of that, the most alarming issue was when our waitress brought our entree to the wrong table. It sat there until the other diners told her they hadn't ordered them. She then immediately brought the same plate to us, and we had to tell her we weren't comfortable eating food that had been served to another table. This is a clear health code violation. She took the plate back, but returned just minutes later with the food split on two plates. There is no doubt it was the same food. Totally unacceptable. Aside from that, the entree (a short rib pasta) took about 30 minutes to arrive, despite not being a complicated dish. We were also swatting away flies and gnats the entire meal, which just added to the discomfort. To top it off, the waitress took my card to pay without even giving me a copy of the bill to review, so I had no idea what I was being charged for until after the fact. This restaurant seriously needs to re-evaluate its service standards and basic food safety practices. I will not be returning.

Yelp
This place has a great ambiance, and a decent old fashioned despite their emphasis on gin. If I go back, I'll try something gin based. On the expensive side, but a good place for a drink or two.

Yelp
This is such a fun spot for a nice dinner and drinks with family or friends or even a dimlit date spot. A larger group upwards of 10 people could definitely stop in. The interior decor and vibes are so pleasing, and definitely would say to dress the part, I would feel out of place showing up casually dressed. The menu items are pretty pricey, but each dish was phenomenal. We got a mushroom flatbread, patatas bravas, and cheese curds all to share. My favorite was the patatas bravas with a nice spicy marinara and garlic aioli flavor combination. I didn't have a drink but my roommates each tried a different one which were aesthetically pleasing. We also absolutely loved the brownie cake - a nice gooey, crispy, chcolatey brownie (which appears to be a lava cake but it is not) topped with cookies and cream ice cream. Basically all the things you could ask for from a brownie!!

Yelp
Recently had dinner there and it felt like the ac was not on. At least 80 degrees inside. Made for a fairly uncomfortable experience.

Yelp
Amazing experience with high class service bartender Dylan was excellent with his service and very kind communication Will definitely be coming back !!!

Yelp
Lovely place!! The atmosphere is amazing. I got the Pappardelle Steak and Mushroom pasta. It was good. The steak was a bit big for my taste.

Yelp
Botanist Social is one of my favorite cocktail bars in Madison. The interior is beautiful and I've always loved my drinks here. The tapas are delicious as well!

Yelp
Botanist social is an exceptional place to grab a cocktail in downtown Madison. If you are a gin fan like myself, they're known for their variety and expensive selection of tasty gin. They offer a variety of house made of craft cocktails, as well as several THC beverages for those who enjoy those. Additionally their food is delicious and the ambience is fantastic.

Yelp
Beautiful looking gin-focused bar on State Street, I was excited to bring my gin-loving friend and try The Botanist Social for the first time as well. The hostess was so kind as to explain their program, their focus on gins, and also using Death's Door brand as a default. My friend went with a G&T with Hendrick's and I ordered the Paper Airplane and asked the bartender what gin she thought might go well with that. She kind of did the "well we have over 70 gins, I don't know" routine. Isn't that part of working at a gin-focused bar, to have a few recos when asked? Seemed off putting, so I went with Hendrick's as well! The Botanist is a beautiful low-lit place for a date, girl's night out, a pre or post-show Overture Center Drink. Thanks to the lovely Hostess for being so very helpful!

Yelp
this place is a gem. you feel like you're in a little hideaway outside of Madison - the service and ambiance is amazing!

Kacey S.

Yelp
Great service, even better cocktails! Kylin was the best bartender here!! This is a must need spot if you're in Madison!

Yelp
This place is cuuuuuuute!!! The ambiance and dim lighting with the candles kind of makes you feel like you're in another time. The staff was friendly and the drinks were refreshing!
google avatar

Mark N.

Yelp
I'm a big gin fan and they knock it out of the park on that. Great bartender and service. However, it's a bit dark and depressing in there and when I think of gin drinks I think of sunny outdoors summer days. This didn't fit.
google avatar

Yelp
Ambiance, menu options, and gin selection are top notch! Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable on the cocktails and menu. The seafood entrees were excellent and crab cake appetizer was to die for! The only downsides were that you can't make a reservation for more than 5 people online. Also, they have no working phone number so we had to go in person to make a reservation for 6 people.

Yelp
I had been wanting to eat at The Botanist Social for quite some time, so I decided to finally make a reservation. Located right by the Comedy Club on State, it was a short walk from the parking garage. I was in awe from the moment I walked in - the greenery on the walls and the plants in glass vials by the front door really made you feel like you were eating in a greenhouse. We were 30 minutes early for our 6:00 pm reservation, but planned to just have a drink at the bar while we waited. The hostess informed us that we could be seated right away, however, so we did that. It was great that they were able to accommodate us! The waitress was prompt, and I ordered Summer Vibes for my first drink, at her suggestion. It was delicious - a mix of gin, lavender, lemon and honey, it really did give me summer vibes. Once you order something, they begin to prepare it immediately, so I held off on ordering an entree just yet. I opted for the crab cake, and it did not disappoint. It was moist, flavorful, and the remoulade was the best I've ever tasted - and I'm from Maryland! It was time to order another drink, so I chose the Proprietary Knowledge - a mix of vodka, blackberry, lemon, lime, rosemary, Campari and soda water. It was a little strong, not that I should be complaining, and I did enjoy it, but I liked my first drink better. I decided on the lobster roll with truffle fries and truffle aioli for dinner, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! My only complaint was that the contents of the roll were almost like a blended crab salad, and the texture was weird for me at first. But it was delicious! Especially with the toasted bun - it was just the right amount of buttery! The truffle fries and aioli were the real star of the show. I ended up taking half of them home, along with the sauce, so that I could have them today. I will definitely be returning to The Botanist Social!

Yelp
LOVED The Botanist Social. Stopped by for my birthday and I don't have a single complaint. Service was great not too pushy or to absent. The crab cakes and the lobster roll were to die for. I tried a few different drinks but my favorite was the clover club. However THE AMBIANCE. My friends... this place is unmatched.
google avatar

Lexi G.

Yelp
The inside of this place is super cute. I love the couch area in the front for a small group of people. Much needed addition to State St. The clover club gin cocktail was unique and delicious. I opted for the lettuce wraps as my meal. Yummy.

Yelp
VIBES. This place is your nighttime fairy adventure with a little bit of spice. I came for a late night drink and some snacks and they were suburb. Truffle fries are *chefs kisses* A little small for the price but a nice light snack. Now the drinks are phenomenal. The orchid in my photo is edible and so so sooo delicious! It soaks up all of the flavor. I can totally see myself coming back for a GNO celebration or a classy date night, night cap;) Happy celebrating and getting a pinch of spice.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this new downtown restaurant !!! The decor and vibe is amazing, feels like I am at a restaurant in Chicago not Madison. It's located in the same spot where Icon use to be. Awesome location, right across from the Overture. Great place for excellent service, food, and drinks. Cute spot for date night or girls night. Ordered the rosemary shrimp skewer, house foliage -autumn, forest mushroom flatbread, and vanilla panna cotta. Each of the dishes were beautifully presented and tasted so good. Can't wait to go back and try the other dishes on the menu.

Yelp
Great cocktail lounge on state street. We made a spontaneous stop here and are so happy we did! Our first try was at about 8:30/9 on a Friday night but there was no seating available. We came back about 10/10:30 and it was only half full-the bar was the hot commodity at that point. It's a dimly lit, beautifully decorated spot. We sat at a two top and were promptly greeted by our waitress, Madeline. She was so kind and provided helpful insight and answered our questions. They have a decent size cocktail menu but also have a full bar. The bar tenders looked like they knew what they were doing! My Paloma was great and my husbands whiskey sour was his favorite drink of the weekend. We will definitely be back. We didn't have dinner here but the dinner menu looked delicious (mushroom risotto, yum!)
google avatar

Becky N.

Yelp
Had a lovely dinner here with friends last night and am so happy to have yet another good restaurant to choose from when dining out! This is a gin-based cocktail bar and even if you aren't a huge gin fan, you should probably try one of their creations! They were excellent. Our group tried the Bees Knees, Summer Vibes, Shy Girl, Last Word, and the (not gin) Wisco old fashioned. Hard to pick a favorite, and my old fashioned loving husband proclaimed his to be possibly the best he's had. The chef's special flatbread was gyro - it was excellent. Crispy flatbread and the most tender meat. The chicken lettuce wraps were very tasty as well, but saucy and messy! I had my eye on the short rib with smoked whipped potato and root veggies. The short rib was tender and fell apart with a fork, and I devoured every morsel. The root veggies were one mushroom which I didn't expect, and one carrot, and couple of Cipollini onions. I didn't detect a lot of smoke in the potatoes, but the sauce was nicely seasoned. The price point is a bit too high and I'll likely try something different next time as I'm not sure it was quite worth it, but it was good and I'm glad I tried it. Our group also tried the shrimp risotto which looked fantastic, and the mushroom and steak pasta special which had a pleasantly earthy taste and was perfectly portioned. The service was excellent and prompt. It is a dark romantic vibe inside and as we were seated close to the door we were thankful that they let the curtain at the entrance fall closed to help keep the draft down. Tip - $5/person deposit on your reservation.

Yelp
I've gone here for cocktails before but never for dinner. So when I was invited out for dinner I was a little nervous but my friend assured me that the food was really good and boy were they right. I ordered the Grilled Sirloin Steak which included chimichurri, squash and garlic mashed potatoes. I believe that this was the best sirloin I've ever had. It was moist and seasoned perfectly. The garlic mashed potatoes were creamy and the chimichurri and squash were perfect. The only thing I would change would I wouldn't sit at the bar but a proper table since it was a proper meal lol. I will order this again!

Yelp
I was really looking forward to trying this spot as I love a food gin cocktail. I love the decor and how "green" everything feels. The ambiance is great. I tried two different drinks. One of them being the classic bees knees. It's one of my favorites; however I was disappointed by the cocktail here. It did not seem to have the right balance that I'm used too and was too citrusy for my liking. The other drink I tried also had an a overpowering citrus flavor too it. I may give it another try in the future.
google avatar

JoJo N.

Yelp
Lovely atmosphere and even better drinks! We were trying to escape the loud and crowded bars where everyone was watching the football game, so this was the perfect spot for us. Their gin cocktails were well-crafted, and the bartenders was very attentive to our needs at the bar. They did accidentally include drinks that I did not order onto my tab, but they were very apologetic and quick to fix it. If I'm ever in Madison in the future, I would definitely return here!
google avatar

Steph B.

Yelp
Went here for the second time and it was amazing as usual. Gorgeous ambiance and fancy chill vibe. The lobster roll is classically delicious but those cinnamon sweet potato fries are the thing of dreams! The cocktails my partner and I got were delicious, though admittedly pricey. And my partner's pork dinner was apparently scrumptious. Still no complaints! So good!
google avatar

MonaLisa M.

Yelp
If you enjoy good gin cocktails, this is your place! Located a block away from the Capital, once you enter this place you feel as though you're being transported to another city. Think, of a warmer, more humid city. The entrance is filled with a mini botanical garden and flowers in glass cases. What's better than an oasis filled with gin? An oasis filled with gin and has good food! I had two drinks; the fancy G&T and the Paloma. Both were made amazingly, while the bartender managed to add his twist to the drinks so they didn't taste like the usual gin cocktails. I ordered the Carnita Tacos. They were made so well, and the green chile that was on the side really added to the taste. I can't wait to try more of their drinks!

Yelp
Cool bar with great spirits. Awesome vibe for some really good craft cocktails! Highly recommended by this Yelper.

Yelp
Best gin bar in Madison. Love the staff there and the decor is lovely to look at while you enjoy a cocktail. It's nice to have a bar in Madison that actually knows what a French 75 is!!

Yelp
A dark and intimate space, the Botanist Social fits the vibe for a great date night. On the weekends, they offer a brunch menu which we happened to show up on. We ordered a lobster roll and burger which were delicious. We did upgrade the fries to "truffle" and sweet potato. The portions are acceptable for one person, so a cup size of fries, but what left a bad taste was the $3 and $2 upcharge for such a tiny portion. There is a late night food menu which they serve after 10pm. We also got a couple of drinks. I did a G&T by picking a from the gin list. I also got to taste 2 other gin based cocktails and they were alright. We also got the house shot to try - gin persimmon liquer which is pretty easy to drink. The atmosphere is nice and it's not far from the Capital building. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere and thought the food was a bit better than the drinks.

Madison H.

Yelp
The manager and owner are incredibly rude, as a women I felt creeped out in this bar. I'd recommend any other nice bar in Madison
google avatar

Grace B.

Yelp
Really great spot to grab a drink they were unreal. However the music is so subpar. It feels like you're waiting for a rave to start. Does not fit the vibe at all. The food was also kind of mediocre and way too expensive. Come here to get a drink don't get dinner here

Yelp
WHAT A VIBE!!! I could not be more excited about The Botanist Social. My friend and I went over the weekend and immediately fell in love with it! When you walk in, you immediately notice beautiful plants and greenery all around you. It's dimly lit inside and has beautiful decor, accent walls, and candle lighting. The lighting in general is super cool! I'm a sucker for a dim lit bar/restaurant. This place really has the best vibe. We ordered a few different cocktails and absolutely loved them all! My favorite one was the Time is Up - a gorgeous pink cocktail made with whiskey, thyme & ginger syrup, lemon, and bitters. My friend got a cocktail that they lit on fire to enhance the flavor. She really loved it and enjoyed the experience that came with it. We didn't order food but it looked incredible. I definitely will get some next time! The staff was extremely friendly! The bartender who served us was great about checking in, giving us recommendations, and answering all our our (many) questions. She was so sweet and helpful! She also asked us to please tag them on Instagram. I thought this was really cool because it showed that she cares about her job and the success of Botanist Social. I know other people on here didn't like the prices but I thought the prices were very comparable to other places like it in Madison. To me, the price was super fair, especially for the quality you're getting! Totally worth it in my opinion. The Botanist social is an absolute must visit in Madison! Do yourself a favor and check it out!

Yelp
This place has a unique ambiance, good for a drink and a snack. Went here on a Tuesday night and got a reservation at 8:15pm for a party of 8. It's a small place but they were still able to accommodate all of us. The service was good and we were able to get everything promptly and had no problem getting our servers attention. We did have to put down a deposit but didn't get it back or taken off our check which I found weird and a major negative. The drinks were delicious! We got a few of the Paloma's, a French 75 as well as others. The drinks (especially) the Paloma's were pretty big. The food was ok but pricey (especially the entrees). I think this place is best for a few specialty cocktails and a food off their shareable menu.
google avatar

Paige M.

Yelp
I've been here twice so far. Once for cocktails and once for brunch. This place does not disappoint. The cocktails are beautiful (mine came with fire) and my brunch was so delicious. The fried chicken with sweet potato waffles and were so flavorful. This restaurant/gin bar really is unique and beautiful. They did a great job with the wallpaper, decor, and the candles are such a simple touch that's fun. State street needed gem.
google avatar

Dimi S.

Yelp
Insanity. Went with a group of 8 for a galentines day brunch, and reposting this photo is making me want to make another reservation immediately. We were promptly sat at a beautiful table and ordered a round of drinks that did. not. disappoint. We had an assortment of bloodys, gin, and prosecco mixers and they were all to die for! Rounded out the meal with the breakfast burger that was juice-down-the-forearm-lick-your-fingers type of good! Don't even get me started on the sweet potato fries! Pair all of that with the excellent service and it was a memory for the books. Will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
This vibe! Real candlelight lines the bar, the back bar towers over you like a castle wall, and the potent cocktails wash away reality. Second stop on our Sunday funday, we ordered two cocktails each; 1 Death on a G5, 1 Botanist Negroni, 2 Proprietary Knowledge. The balance of Campari's bitter flavor with rosemary and a squeeze of their sweet lemon lime was spot on in the Proprietary Knowledge. Death on a G5 was a quick few sips of a bright and sweet combination. Good choice to make it small as it was a large ratio of straight up alcohol to lemon juice. The Negroni on tap...was a Negroni on tap. I think the on tap cocktails is a genius idea, but our bartender was quite talented. They upped the cocktail game with their mixology skills. We have plans to return already for brunch on Saturday! Quick note: the prices are a little higher than I'm used to for state street, but absolutely appropriate.

Yelp
This is a beautiful place. I would love to come here only for drinks and to enjoy the atmosphere. Came here for dinner and drinks. The food was awful. I'm a vegetarian and was disappointed in the lack of vegetarian entrees on the menu. When I came, there was just one - mushroom risotto. It was disgusting. Risotto is supposed to be creamy. This risotto was dry and had no flavor. Worst risotto I've ever had in my life. It was so bad I had to send it back. They are charging $24 for this dish, it's not even worth $2. Please take it off the menu. The only other vegetarian side I had were the potatoes which were just okay. Some of the potatoes were soggy which means they are serving old food. The food gets zero stars. Bad food and high prices aren't a good combination. The drinks on the other hand were excellent! 5 stars for the drinks. The service from our waitress was excellent. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu. There was a full house and it seemed she was the only one serving. She did an excellent job and had a great attitude. The male host could take some tips from her on customer service. He wasn't friendly to customers coming in and just had an attitude like he didn't want to be there. Glad I didn't have to interact with him much. It's unfortunate that he is the first person customers have to interact with. If it wasn't for our waitress, we probably would have went somewhere else. If I'm in Madison again, I might come back here but just for drinks. Stay away from the awful food!

Yelp
Had such a nice dinner here on a lovely, warm summer evening. The cocktail menu was great - my husband and I tried the South side, a summery lavender and citrus drink, and the *very spicy* "Burn after reading this" habenera concoction. They were all stellar. (And yes, the latter was indeed very spicy, but I loved every sip). We settled into the beautiful ambiance for a nice slow meal with the forest mushroom Flatbread and Caesar salad, then rounded out the night with the grilled snapper and risotto. The service was great, the food was excellent, and we left happy and very full. Although we ate outside to enjoy the perfect summer weather, the vibe in the open-air dining room was really nice, too, so we'll plan to be back next time we're in Madison.

Yelp
Super cute spot! My husband and I came here when we were in town, and embarrassingly, we had made a reservation for the wrong night! When we arrived and realized our mistake, the host was super kind and did her best to still accommodate us. (We also lucked out that a party was leaving soon after we got there). Once we sat down, the drinks were tasty, and I also really enjoyed the bruschetta that I had. They have a lengthy late-night menu, too. The ambiance is very well-done, and the service was kind and prompt.

Yelp
Showed up at 11:00 and was told no cocktails could be made. Was super confused as it was a bar that was open until 2 am. Dissatisfied with service. Was a cool place a while ago but no more

Yelp
A very fun experience. Food portions were tad small we got the appetizer lettuce chicken wraps, for something called shared portions there was only three of them. The drink portions were a bit small. I had a Wisconsin old fashion which was very delicious and my stepmom got the propriety of knowledge very tasty however, still again a small drink for the piece. The environment and atmosphere was fabulous. Everybody there was extremely friendly.

Yelp
My wife and I had dinner here before going to a show at comedy on state street. Ambiance was nice and the cocktails we had were decent. However, the food was subpar at best and very over priced for what it was. The server was also one of the most awkward human beings I have ever had as a server. I am hopeful that the guy was new and learning but the vibe I got was that he had been there for awhile. If you are just looking to get a cocktail at the bar and dine elsewhere it might not be bad, but considering the amount of restaurant and bar options in the surrounding area I would probably just advise to go elsewhere.

Yelp
Rude host and bar staff! We stopped in for some drinks and they wouldn't seat us at the only available table. We asked if we could be put on a waitlist, but they said they don't use one and don't hold tables. A group came in after us and were immediately seated at the table we had requested. We'll never be back. Don't waste your time.

Yelp
Found this business when traveling to Madison on Yelp and we are so glad we did! I had been to this building when it was Icon (tapas place that was so yum!) and did not realize it had been replaced with The Botanist Social. My fiance and I went for a quick drink/snack before heading out of Madison when visiting for a wedding. The vibe inside was super cool and posh. We ordered a side of truffle fries (they gave you a huge portion) and I got a Tito's grapefruit. I am super picky about grapefruit juice in my drinks but I could tell this one was fresh. Seemed like all of the employees were a bit new, but that's okay! I think this place is a little pricier than others on State St, but it is a different vibe and worth it to check out!
