The Bower Coronado is the perfect staycation or vacation! The location can't be beat and the atmosphere is so special and calming. I love the luxury touches like the personal check-in, comfy and stylish Frette robes, and fresh pastries in the lounge on each floor in the morning. Our room had the perfect balcony to enjoy the afternoon before heading up to the Dive Rooftop bar and restaurant for happy hour. Even if you don't stay at the Bower, you have to experience the Dive!||We also enjoyed taking the cute cruiser bikes for a ride around Coronado. The perfect start to our day (after our coffee and pastries, of course)!

I visited San Diego for work and was originally booked at the Hotel del Coronado, but due to overbooking, I was relocated to the Bower Hotel—which turned out to be a much better option for me. I ended up spending my entire 10-day stay at the Bower and absolutely loved it.||The hotel staff were fantastic—special thanks to Diego, Isabella, and Richard, who were always available and helpful with any questions or requests. The location is perfect, right across the street from the iconic Hotel del Coronado, and the hotel itself is modern, stylish, and comfortable.||My room faced Orange Avenue, had a balcony, and was just the right size. I appreciated thoughtful touches like the Dyson hair dryer and Le Labo toiletries in the bathroom. I also made use of the gym a couple of times—it's small but has everything you need if you’re not too picky: a bike, treadmill, and free weights.||The complimentary coffee and pastries each morning were a lovely touch and ideal for a quick breakfast before heading out. And the rooftop restaurant was a pleasant surprise—I especially enjoyed the gochujang chicken salad.||I would highly recommend the Bower Hotel to anyone visiting Coronado Island. It was a great experience from start to finish.

I had a wonderful stay at The Bower Coronado—a beautiful, brand-new boutique hotel that truly feels like a private home. The staff are incredibly friendly and work together like one family. Special thanks to Director of Sales Nick Durslag, who was great to work with as we booked 9 rooms, and to GM Sean Murphy for their warm hospitality. This is the newest hotel on Coronado Island in over 40 years, perfectly located right across from the Hotel Del. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Coronado!

The Bower Coronado is more than a place to stay~it's an experience! The hotel is just steps from the beach and perfectly situated on the island. The hotel's amenities ranging from bikes to beach chairs ensure you have everything you need to enjoy your day to the fullest. The Dive restaurant has one of the best views and was where we enjoyed some of our most favorite meals. The hotel's attention to detail is evident in every touch, from the Le Labo products and Dyson hair dryers to the luxurious bath towels. What truly sets The Bower Coronado apart is its incredibly curated team. The staff members take the time to greet you personally through out your stay. Everyone at The Bower is friendly, helpful and provides exceptional service. It is rare to find a hotel where the staff show such genuine warmth and commitment. What made out stay especially memorable was the kindness and thoughtful attention of Sean, Michaela, Chris, Isabella, Nick and Tim. We have been coming to Coronado every summer for over a decade and we have found our new home when we visit.

My partner and I had a very nice stay at this property for four nights. It is extremely well-located across from the beach, The Del, and nearby everything that Coronado has to offer. The experience and vibe are both very trendy—great decor, excellent rooftop views, etc. We loved the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the lobby and the way that staff interacted with guests when they enter. Sean and Michaela were by far the best parts of our stay. We will definitely be back.

As I’ve stayed at many nice hotels over the years, what distinguishes The Bower from just another nice hotel are the small touches of detail, most importantly the staff. Every staff member, from the front desk to the guest greeter at the rooftop restaurant to the guy fastidiously mopping the entrance floor, ALL seemed genuine and just pleasantly polite and nice. Owning a business, this is rarely a natural occurrence in any service industry and applaud the management in their apparent and obvious training. This coupled with the impeccably clean amenities truly sets The Bower apart from even the most posh hotels. Keep it up and we wish The Bower the very best as it will continue to gain notoriety as a destination experience. All the best!

I travel extensively for business and spend at least 150 nights/year in hotels, mostly in 5* properties. From the moment you step into this new boutique hotel, you feel a sense of retreat and calm. |I arrived mid-morning and was busy with work meetings for about an hour. I didn’t mind working from the inviting indoor/outdoor lobby conducive to socializing, along with quiet nooks. It was clear the GM Sean’s goal was to be attentive without being intrusive, creating a relaxing and thoughtful vibe. He quickly offered to hold my bags until my room was ready (which were placed in my room before my return) and asked if I cared for any coffee. A few minutes later I had a fresh iced latte to help me power through a few meetings before heading into the office. Already off to an excellent start, this attention to detail made me so glad I decided to checkout this new property, instead of the always hectic The Del or one of the rundown spots I frequent in La Jolla. |The “hard product” and design are where The Bower shines. The rooms are cozy but thoughtfully designed to be chic & comfortable, with a sense of place – definitely a SoCal vibe. I stayed in a Premium Terrace Room with ample natural light, partial ocean views, and a comfortable patio where I enjoyed working until the sunset. I slept incredibly well on the firm mattress with luxurious bedding. I really appreciated the high-end touches including the Dyson hairdryer, Le Labo toiletries, and an ample stock of thick towels. |I think my favorite aspect of entering my room was the inviting signature scent diffuser (not sure of the scent but it’s amazing!). I felt like I was coming home each time I opened the door. My only complaint was the road noise, but I think the sliding door to the patio wasn’t correctly installed. I provided feedback to the team and I’m confident they’ll assess/address it and I have no hesitations requesting room 414 during my next stay.|I love the location of The Bower; it’s a very short walk to Coronado Beach, local boutiques, and a wide variety of dining options. However one thing that gave me pause before booking this new property was the absence of a pool and true beachfront location. I quickly appreciated being away from the touristy madness of the The Del. The Bower offers high quality beach chairs, umbrellas, Frette beach bags, and proper Frette beach towels (LOVE these!) – of which I took full advantage. |There’s a small fitness room on the underground floor, but it has all the essentials. And they got it right with the hex dumbbells!|The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and truly went out of their way to make it an effortless stay to feel at home. I interacted with Daniel and Isabella at the front desk who didn’t miss a beat, then Nick and Sean from the management team who were genuinely interested in ensuring I had a fantastic stay. Even after just a one night I already want to return next time I’m in the area.

From the time I made a reservation several months ago to checkout on August 3rd,the "Bower Experience" exceeded our expectations! When I first called I was able to actually speak to someone! Danny ( Guest experiences Supervisor) went way above and beyond describing the rooms and insuring that we chose the best room for our stay. By the time we arrived Danny had continued to communicate and helped us develop a great vacation plan! My husband and I were traveling for leisure for a 5 day trip to celebrate our 36th anniversary/ his birthday. I did a lot of "researching" where to stay in San Diego! The Del Coronado is an iconic attraction but I was looking for a more relaxing less crowded "touristy" place - Oh BOY! were we glad we found The Bower! The Del was beautiful but it definitely was far more crowded and busy with more of a "Disney resort feel" (pay $$$$ with a lot more big families, weddings, corporate events, and kids running everywhere). This is not meant to be negative , we love our kids! However, for this trip we were able to still enjoy everything at the Del and then go right back across the street to escape to a peaceful environment, with welcoming staff, and relax! The DIVE roof top bar was a great place where we could enjoy a cozy corner and great food and drinks. Upon arrival the staff all treated us as though we were their only guests! Even the valets we encountered were always so welcoming, helpful, and genuinely friendly. When we first entered the doors the lobby had a great quiet relaxing overall feel. Definitely living up to its name! (Google BOWER! :) Michaela welcomed us in and talked to us about the hotel and our plans while we enjoyed a nice glass of wine in what they called the " living room" by an open air fire. She was so attentive , making another great first impression and setting the tone for our stay. We of course also had to brag to her a bit about how helpful Danny had been prior to our arrival! During our stay we learned this new boutique Hotel was formerly the Hotel Villa Capri. It has been beautifully renovated and sits directly across Orange Blvd from the Del Coronado. I personally loved all the design elements that gave it such a peaceful relaxing vibe! — but what truly made our stay unforgettable was the above and beyond hospitality from every team member we encountered. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely at home. We had everything we needed (and more). They provide umbrellas , beach chairs , towels, at no charge. Bikes also available to reserve for use as well! My advice is just ask! In our room we had a lovely note regarding our anniversary with 2 nice Fellow stainless steel water bottles . While we waited for our luggage our favorite cocktail was delivered to our door by staff from the Dive ( The Bowers awesome rooftop bar! ). Apparently Danny had made great notes of our preferences! Next , we met the General manager, Sean Murphy. We were again pleasantly surprised with Sean's welcoming demeanor, accessibility, and willingness to help us plan anything we wanted to do! Everything that was recommended by all of the staff we enjoyed! We can't say enough about the team to be honest! I have to provide one more "shout out" to a gentleman (not sure his name) who was actually always busy vacuuming and cleaning. He saw me walk out of our room with an ice bucket one afternoon, stopped what he was doing and said he would take care of this for me! He promptly returned with a bucket of ice to our room. You don't typically find staff being aware and intentional like that! Overall , It's just rare to experience this level of genuine personalized service — We observed how hard all of the staff work and truly care about the success of The Bower. It was a lovely place but it was the staff that truly turned a nice stay into an exceptional one! We traveled across the country from a place supposedly known for "Southern Hospitality " and felt as though we were welcomed "Home" 😊 Thank you Bower Family, for making our visit so special!

Yelp
Place is shiny and new. Looks very chic. We went to Dive for an anniversary lunch 1 day before its Grand opening. The staff was uber friendly and courteous. Courtney was our server and she was great! Even offered to turn on the heaters for us. We tried the sliders, fish taco, and the garbanzo salad. The fries are shaved, unique and delish. Sliders and tacos are good but pretty standard for San Diego. Skip the salad, barely had any flavor. Could use some citrus or vinaigrette to it and salt for additional flavor. Drinks we had the Duchess and Mezcal, both were refreshing. The view from the rooftop was great overlooking the bay and views of the Del across. Suggest having blankets for balmy cool Coronado nights. Otherwise great new hangout spot for Islanders!

Yelp
Really cute rooftop restaurant with excellent service, but all of our plates were served cold. There's no parking if you're only looking to eat at the restaurant, and there's no espresso machine, so only drip coffee is served (also lukewarm). I assume the server waited for all of our dishes to be ready at the same time, and that's why they were served cold. Regardless, food is the most important aspect, so when it's served absolutely cold and it's over $20 for mere eggs and potatoes, it doesn't matter how cute the place, or impressive the service is, it loses the good work staff puts in.

Yelp
Cute rooftop restaurant. The sitting was comfortable. We were a group of 6 and they accommodated us great. The food was well flavored. I gave them a 3 star because the wait to get the food was more than an hour. When we did get our food my dish was cold. I wish they would had brought my food when it was still warm but they waited until all our dishes were ready.

Yelp
The hostess and staff were amazing. It's their soft opening this weekend, and we're enjoying the rooftop bar with beautiful views. The food and drinks were great. We came for brunch to celebrate my friend's birthday and had a wonderful time. I definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
We heard about this new spot on Instagram. We came for brunch and to celebrate a friend's birthday. The Dive restaurant is located on the rooftop of The Bower hotel. All the staff there were beyond friendly and helpful. It was a beautiful day! I ordered a mimosa and the Avo Brioche. The avocado toast was good and fresh. The egg was cooked perfectly the way I asked for it - over hard. I feel it was good but could use a little more flavor. I still enjoyed it and was pleased with the amount of avocado. While all the staff were awesome, food took a very long time to come out and the ones in our group that ordered hot food said their food was cold. We still had a good time here.

Yelp
Absolutely Outstanding! From the moment we walked in, it was clear this restaurant runs like a well-oiled machine--and that's all thanks to Rachel, the manager, and her phenomenal team. Rachel's presence is warm, professional, and effortlessly confident. You can tell she leads by example. She checked in with us personally during our visit--not in a rushed or rehearsed way, but with genuine care and hospitality. It's rare to see a manager so hands-on, so invested in both the staff and the guest experience. The entire crew mirrored Rachel's energy--friendly, attentive, and clearly proud of their work. Service was seamless, food came out perfectly timed, and every staff member we interacted with was kind and accommodating. You could tell they respect and enjoy working under Rachel's leadership, and it shows in every detail. In an industry where great service can make or break a night out, Rachel and her crew deliver nothing short of excellence. Can't wait to come back! Fernando & Mia were also very kind!

Yelp
The Bower was amazing. Brand new close to the beach. The rooms and people are great. They have beach chairs, umbrella and beach bags. The water stations are great. Definitely recommend. Thank you to Shawn for the hospitality.

Yelp
We came to celebrate a birthday party and as soon as we walked in we felt like we were home, we came as a family and felt so thrilled to be there. I would recommend to anyone looking for a cozy, comfortable and fun place to stay.

Yelp
Immaculate vibes and views. Great spot for drinks and an afternoon snack. Service was amazing, everyone was so nice!

Yelp
My husband and I took my elderly parents to The Dive on the rooftop to celebrate their anniversary. I had called when I made reservations and I was told they had parking on site, but discovered it's only valet parking and not available for the restaurant, only hotel guests. It took my husband quite awhile to find parking after dropping us off and he ended up parking across the street at the Hotel Del Coronado, very expensive to park there. My dad uses a walker so that wasn't ideal that they don't have handicapped parking. The view is pretty and the staff is very nice and tried to help with the parking situation. The Dive Lemonade mocktail was terrible. The other cocktails were good. The tacos and sliders were delivered to the table, but the two salads didn't come until at least 10 minutes later. We had no place settings on the table when our food came and I had to get up and find a waitress to get some which took another five minutes. The food was okay, but the service was very slow.
