Bed Nooks Are My Cozy Obsession This Fall | Vogue

"Teetering on the Wiltshire–Somerset border, this 19th‑century coaching inn burrowed into the Duke of Somerset’s estate hits peak coziness in The Nest (Room 3), where an alcove bed is swathed in ruby‑red, green, and burnt‑orange curtains taking historically accurate cues from a dress worn by Jane Seymour, heightening the sensation of waking in another era. Farrow & Ball’s Green Smoke lends the walls a weathered familiarity that draws the surrounding Cranborne Chase inside, and a deep roll‑top bath backed by emerald tiles sets up post‑amble soaks overlooking the garden and Maiden Bradley rooftops before striking out to the West Wiltshire Downs and Westbury’s horse‑carved hillsides." - Chloe Frost-Smith

A perfect delight. We booked a Sunday roast and were greeted by friendly staff who provided a prompt and discrete service throughout our meal. The food was simply but delicious and the portion sizes were ample, even for those with large appetites. We will definitely be back again.

We stayed there a while ago. The house is beautiful and so are the spacious rooms. The decor is authentic and tasteful. We were, however, rather disappointed by the restaurant which is very much overpriced given the quality and creativity (or lack thereof) of the dishes. The staff is not overly friendly or welcoming, save for the younger ones who try their best within the given conditions.

We are a party of 6 old friends, we like to meet up occasionally to share country walks, dine well and stay in interesting places, The Bradley Hare ticked all our boxes. The rooms were clean and very comfy, the food was great and varied, but the staff were the stars, friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Bradley Hare, we will hopefully be back.

Really great hotel and restaurant. I don't normally write reviews but we had a fabulous time at The Bradley Hare and I wanted to say so. Very good food and drink, excellent service, fab staff. Will definitely stay (and eat) here again.

Stayed for a Saturday night on the way home from the south west, conveniently a short drive off the A303. Cosy bar and relaxed dining room. Limited but excellent local produce beautifully cooked matched by a short well balanced wine list. Always a good sign for freshly prepared food we think. Room was spacious and bed comfy, just right for a good nights sleep, even though our room was on the front of the building, as road was quiet during the night. Breakfast served in the dining room reflected the evening meal standard - excellent. We look forward to staying again.

Visited this beautiful pub on Saturday and my friends and I were really happy with our choice of pub. We were greeted by very friendly bar staff and got chatting the Manager Steve, who kindly offered us a lift back to where we were staying as we had been ripped off by a local taxi firm. The pub has a really nice relaxed vibe, beautiful to look at and the garden was stunning. The food we had was beautiful, one of the best burgers I have had in quite a while. Thank you to Steve and the team, we really enjoyed our time there.

Went for dinner with a friend and it was a very good choice. The food was delicious, fresh and local. Brilliant staff. We were not rushed and got to really enjoy our meal. Will definitely be coming back, beautiful location as well as the inside being a well designed comfortable place.

My partner and I had a splendid evening at the Bradley Hare where we throughly enjoyed one of the finest dining experiences we have received, indulging in the Pork Chop, and couldn’t leave without sampling the sticky Toffee which I highly recommend. However, the stand out for the evening was the ever so wonderful Jess, who delivered an exceptional service and quite frankly made our evening, Jess was terrific. Would highly recommend.
