The breakfast club is a tightly packed little place that serves a good variety of breakfast and brunch options, and caters for all varieties of dietary persuasions. The food is decent though a little overpriced for what you actually get. One slice of toast seems a bit mean when you’ve ordered something at includes toast.
The staff were very friendly and attentive, however the HUGE letdown for me is the fact that this place allows dogs, which in my opinion is not hygienic around food in such a small and enclosed space.
On this occasion we went in to escape the rain and have brunch with a visiting friend. Others must have had a similar idea because it was busy. The staff did a good job of asking about allergies and highlighting different menu options, However, ironically it was rain covered dog, sitting on the lap of its owner at the table across the room behind us, that triggered my guests allergic reaction. He could smell something was effecting him but his reactions started before he knew there was an animal in the room. Unfortunately it ruined the whole experience. He took a photo of the dog at the table but it wouldn’t be fair to post it.
Perhaps dog friendly eating establishments should have some rules of etiquette and hygiene, and also be aware that customers may be allergic to animals.
