We stopped here during our day trip to Fergus, Ontario, and it was a great choice. The portions are generous, and everything was tasty. I had the smashed burger, which was delicious – juicy, cheesy, and full of flavor – and it came with a fresh side salad and dressing. The kids had chicken fingers and fries, which were crispy and came with a nice dipping sauce. Best of all, kids eat free on Sundays, which makes it a perfect family spot. And they have river view patio!!! Friendly service, big portions, and quality food – we’ll definitely come back the next time we’re in Fergus!

Honestly We were nervous coming in after reading reviews….glad we decided to make up our own minds. We had a great experience! Our server Travis was pleasant and courteous. There wasn’t a long wait for drinks or our food. Everything was delicious. I had fish tacos my husband had beef tacos. Drinks were cold and overall just a great experience. We will definitely be back.

We had such a wonderful time here! The food was absolutely delicious – we tried a burger, a bowl, the soup of the day, and kids’ meals, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully served. We came as a group and everyone really enjoyed their dishes. Friendly atmosphere and great place to eat – highly recommend!

My wife and I decided to check out this place, due to it's location to the river, we expected some nice views. Unfortunately the tables next to the river were spoken for but we stayed to eat anyway. Overall, we were not impressed. So many little things that just added up to a disappointing dining experience. Firstly, it's a grubby place, our table was sticky, there were random holes in walls, paint peeling, no paper towel in the washrooms. Architecturally, it is a beautiful building and there are some really interesting elements (the stone wall, the lighting and ceiling fans) but they are hard to notice due to the untidiness around. The Ceasar (drink) was super tiny and served in the wrong glass and not at all spicy as requested. The Caribbean music that played did not at all match the vibe of the place. We waited for ever to get are appetizer which did not match the description listed on the menu and it was tasteless. After more waiting our dinner arrived. The chicken wrap was full of dried chicken and the fish was way more batter then fish. Our server and a manager made an effort to ask how everything was, they encouraged the feedback but unfortunately we didn't have many pleasant things to note. Apparently they are in a transition period (new cook and ownership) hopefully they can figure things out because they have a beautiful location and there is big potential here.

They promised a free desert if you do a Google review. Although the menu looks good, there's no desert on the menu lol. We had to go and find a server. The food was good, the servings generous However When we ordered a side dish with a meal, we were charged an extra $4.00 for the side in spite of there being no mention of that on the menu.

Indoor dining smelt like a wet musty basement. The waiter took over 10 minutes to even get our drink order. Asked if the salad dressing was spicy as my mom is on chemo and can't have any spice without burning her mouth. Waiter assured us it has 0 spice, only for it to arrive an hour later extremely spicy for myself even. Appetizer took 45 minutes to arrive and food came out immediately after so I'm assuming the waiter forgot to put our order in then remembered about us and rushed it. Glasses remained empty and taking an hour to receive chicken fingers and a salad was ridiculous. For this price point I expect much better service and a cleanlier environment. Based on the smell and the flies I believe they need to have their draft beer well and lines very thoroughly cleaned. Will not be returning.

We visited the restaurant on wing night. When our food came out it was all barely even warm. The fries were cold and the gravy that we had on the side of those was cold as well. It had the consistency of jelly. It seemed like our food had been sitting out for quite a while. It wasn’t that busy because the 2 of us were only one of 2 tables inside and there were a couple of tables on the patio. We were very disappointed. We will not be returning.

Restaurant Experience: We’ve enjoyed visiting Brew House on the Grand in the past, but unfortunately, our experience this past Saturday was quite disappointing. Despite the restaurant not being busy, the service was inattentive. We were not offered water, and two of the four drinks ordered were incorrect. Additionally, when appetizer plates were brought to the table, they were visibly dirty, which was concerning. While our friends were gracious and we decided to stay, we were very close to leaving. It was not the level of service or quality we’ve come to expect based on previous visits. I'd be reluctant to go back or take friends who came from out of town for a visit. Just sharing this in hopes that it helps improve the experience for others in the future.

Yelp
We were looking forward to a relaxing lunch on a riverside patio on a beautiful sunny mid-week day. We decided to give The Brewhouse in Fergus another try. We had been here before , but have yet to be impressed by the food or ambiance. On arrival we were casually seated by a friendly server/hostess. By casual I mean that we were told to sit anywhere we would like. The patio was not busy. We ordered Fish & Chips and a Caesar Salad. It took some time for our food to arrive and served by a young and friendly server. The fish was a mushy something or another matter, covered in a tasteless breading. The fries were so-so and to give them a rating of 5, would have been a stetch. The whole plate looked like it was hastely thrown together. The Caesar Salad also looked it was just dumped on a plate. And as far as the ambiance is concerned, the whole place looked unkept, both inside and near the entrance. I very seldom review restaurants, but lately, with high prices on low quality foods, I feel that we should make these establishments aware of what they're getting away with! BTW, we also pay their waitstaff with generous tips!

Yelp
Sadly this place disappointed me today. I arrived at 1235 for lunch and ordered the power bowl with mixed greens, salmon, apple, beets, red onion, cucumber, and red onion. It took 40 minutes for my salad to arrive and my bread took another 15 minutes after that. It seemed to me the wait staff were walking back and forth constantly but not working efficiently. My waitress was not proactively checking in with me and instead I had to keep asking her for updates. It would have been a nice gesture if she would have offered to bring me bread while my wait time exceeded 20 minutes instead of waiting for me to ask. All I asked for was some bread and butter and I got garlic toast and a huge bowl of butter instead. I've been here before and it was never this bad so I'm hoping this is a one off. The salad was tasty and the salmon cooked perfectly which is why I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1.

Yelp
Nice little pub with great scenery. Really great staff and great menu items which are surprising for a pub in Fergus. I think the place has a rustic charm but there are some doorways and walls that need major love/renovations. My wife had a burger which was excellent. Dennis the manager assured me they have fresh ground brought in from a local farmer and you can tell they don't skimp on quality. The Caesars were awesome, which I drink one wherever I go. Highly recommend. Ask for Dennis or Sarah, they will treat you very well.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch on a day trip to Fergus. Felt ignored from start to finish... our burly waiter never stopped during our 35-40 min wait for food, or ask if we wanted another drink, or to see if our food was good (wasn't- cold fries, dry, thin fish) Wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
Incredible service 100%. The sticky toffee pudding is TO DIE FOR. Their mussles are so good that my 10yo orders them every time we were there. Yeah, that's right, a 10yo. The same kid who won't even look at a pizza if it has touched pizza sauce. During COVID, the service standard has been consistently amazing. Even with all the obstacles the food is so delicious, and now THEY DELIVER, which is so much better than pizza every night. Best place to call if you're looking for exceptional service standards and THE BEST wings. You heard me. I meant what I said. If you get a busy signal just keep calling. It's sooooo worth it.

Yelp
Unable to get a seat at 5pm on a Monday despite the dining room being completely empty due to future reservations. Beyond outrageous and will not be returning during my trip here

Yelp
Stopped in for the night at the B&B. Dinner was great. The jalapeno pepper burger was awesome and the trout platter nice. Great atmosphere and lovely/friendly staff.

Yelp
Well, this place just set a new standard for me. I've always been a fan of liver and onions as a diner staple. Hands down best liver and onions I've ever had. Perfectly cooked liver with skilfully caramelised onions, bacon, roasted potatoes and actually fresh, crispy, tasty sautéed veggies. Friends had the fish and chips (lovely and a nice light breading, HUGE portion) and the Jambalaya (Not really spicy, but quite tasty and also a huge portion). Good selection of local draught beers. I don't drink anymore so I can't say more than that, but my friends assure me they were excellent. Decor is nice, early industrial with a beautiful view of the river. I found the ceiling fans, run off a pulley system to be wonderfully quaint and really quite cool. Came here on a Saturday, they were very busy and we had to wait about 20 mins for a table but the service was excellent, food cane fast, and we did not feel at all rushed. Check it out.

Yelp
Found this as a recommended place when I was looking for a place to wind up on Sunday drive. The building is over a century old, having been a tannery, a flour mill, a hatchery, and a early power plant during it's life. Now it has become a pub and restaurant. The atmosphere is very old school as you would expect, with belt driven fans turning overhead. The crowd is local, but visitors feel welcome. The food seems excellent, the two dishes I had were tasty indeed! I had the smoked trout cakes as a starter and a curried chicken enchilada as a main with a small Caeser salad. There is also a nice beer selection available, but I didn't sample any on this visit.

Yelp
tried to place an order to be told their menu is outdated and they didn't have what we wanted for lunch. Call back after making another decision for what to order just to be told the cook wasn't there yet. Not going to try to order from this "business" again.

Yelp
We arrived early on a Tuesday evening just before this atmospheric restaurant and pub filled up. The staff were pleasant and patient with everyone. The one drawback was the food. I ordered a stew with Guinness, beef, carrots, potatoes and more. Very good. But the soggy, tough pastry shell led me to believe my dish had been prepared the day before and when nobody ordered it, refrigerated overnight. Too bad. A professional cook would have thrown it out rather than lose a customer.

Yelp
Hands down the best place to eat or grab a drink in Fergus. We have been going for 10 years. The staff is amazing and the food is to die for. Best chicken wings in Wellington county as far as I'm concerned. They have a great selection of beers on tap as well. Love us some Brewhouse

Yelp
Haven't been to this place in quite sometime being resident of Fergus. The servers were quite nice and helpful, but the menu was less than desired. Once it was full of delicious choices and meals, now anything that goes into a deep fryer will do. No chocolate milk for kids menu, and the amount of flies in the place (real ones, not bar ones) was unreal. I literally think there were less flies outside. The patio over looks the grand river which is great, and the beer was cold. Disappointed with the food options and amount of flies. I mean I'd rather see a fly strip in the corner loaded with flies stuck to it rather than fighting them to keep off my deep fried fish. Yes I order the fish and chips. Fish was over done crispy. The Slice of lemon looked like a dried up labia from a 95 year old woman. The fries were heavy with grease like it was not hot enough when they started out but burned. The Tatar sauce was good. Lol Such a shame that this restaurant, in my opinion has really taken a turn downhill and in a great location in a historic building. If you want wings and beer in the patio this is the place, otherwise head else where before you waste your money. Or get carried away by the flies.
