We experienced the indoor in the beginning which my partner and I thought the room was fair for a date. Then we changed to outdoor (luckily there have a table). The weather & the vibes that we think it was perfect for us. Food & service were great. We also liked the live music which made that restaurant a perfect place for date or family gatherings.

Great spot in Fergus! The Brew House on the Grand has an awesome location right by the river—perfect for a relaxing meal or drink on the patio. The historic building adds a lot of charm and character, and the atmosphere inside is cozy and welcoming. The menu has a solid selection of pub favorites. I really enjoyed the [insert favorite dish, e.g., “beef dip” or “wings”]—flavorful and well done. Their beer selection is great too, with lots of local options on tap. Service was friendly, though a bit slow during peak hours, but nothing that ruined the experience. They also host fun events like trivia nights and live music, which is a nice bonus if you're looking for a lively evening out. Overall, a great place to relax with friends, grab a bite, and enjoy the view. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Fergus!

⭐️ (1/5) Beautiful view, Best company — but food & service missed the mark. Went for lunch with wonderful friends (they’re a solid 5/5⭐️). The riverside patio is gorgeous, and it was great catching up. But the experience overall was disappointing: • My “Smash Burger” came with overcooked patties that seemed to me, like frozen ones — definitely not a proper smash burger. • My wife’s salad had rotten greens — visibly wilted and spoiled. It was taken away, but only 20% was removed from the bill. • I clearly asked for a 20 oz beer. Got a small one instead, and the server insisted I said “small” — even though the whole table heard otherwise. • No drink refills offered, even when glasses were empty. • Fries were surprisingly tasty. • The washroom was clean (smelled like bleach). But I passed an unsightly prep/storage area where a lady was working. • Maybe the server was a student and lacked training, or maybe they were working with limited fresh supplies — still, not what you’d expect at this price point.

Really enjoyed our Sunday evening meal, patio was beautiful and umbrellas helped block the extreme sunshine of the day! Food was good! The fish from the fish and chips is huge! Our server kept us in our fountain drinks and made sure we had everything we needed! Great service, beautiful location, delicious food!

Amazing food! I personally had great tacos and our waiter was amazing. She new what was great on the menu and helped us make decisions that we and my family were happy with. Totally would come back and definitely would recommend to people.

We visited the restaurant on wing night. When our food came out it was all barely even warm. The fries were cold and the gravy that we had on the side of those was cold as well. It had the consistency of jelly. It seemed like our food had been sitting out for quite a while. It wasn’t that busy because the 2 of us were only one of 2 tables inside and there were a couple of tables on the patio. We were very disappointed. We will not be returning.

Absolutely loved my experience here! I was served by Jordie, who was incredibly sweet, attentive, and welcoming—made me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. The cocktails were top-notch (perfectly balanced and beautifully presented), and the food was just as impressive—fresh, flavourful, and delicious. You can tell a lot of care goes into everything they do. Definitely one of Fergus’s gems. Can’t wait to come back!!

Google
Location is good, that's the only good. Food took long time to serve (more than 45 mins), it was not tasty at all, vegetables were cut in all different shapes which came with Salad. Disgusting part was inside the restaurant, there were lots of fly and floor was not clean as well.

Yelp
We were looking forward to a relaxing lunch on a riverside patio on a beautiful sunny mid-week day. We decided to give The Brewhouse in Fergus another try. We had been here before , but have yet to be impressed by the food or ambiance. On arrival we were casually seated by a friendly server/hostess. By casual I mean that we were told to sit anywhere we would like. The patio was not busy. We ordered Fish & Chips and a Caesar Salad. It took some time for our food to arrive and served by a young and friendly server. The fish was a mushy something or another matter, covered in a tasteless breading. The fries were so-so and to give them a rating of 5, would have been a stetch. The whole plate looked like it was hastely thrown together. The Caesar Salad also looked it was just dumped on a plate. And as far as the ambiance is concerned, the whole place looked unkept, both inside and near the entrance. I very seldom review restaurants, but lately, with high prices on low quality foods, I feel that we should make these establishments aware of what they're getting away with! BTW, we also pay their waitstaff with generous tips!

Yelp
Sadly this place disappointed me today. I arrived at 1235 for lunch and ordered the power bowl with mixed greens, salmon, apple, beets, red onion, cucumber, and red onion. It took 40 minutes for my salad to arrive and my bread took another 15 minutes after that. It seemed to me the wait staff were walking back and forth constantly but not working efficiently. My waitress was not proactively checking in with me and instead I had to keep asking her for updates. It would have been a nice gesture if she would have offered to bring me bread while my wait time exceeded 20 minutes instead of waiting for me to ask. All I asked for was some bread and butter and I got garlic toast and a huge bowl of butter instead. I've been here before and it was never this bad so I'm hoping this is a one off. The salad was tasty and the salmon cooked perfectly which is why I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1.

Yelp
Nice little pub with great scenery. Really great staff and great menu items which are surprising for a pub in Fergus. I think the place has a rustic charm but there are some doorways and walls that need major love/renovations. My wife had a burger which was excellent. Dennis the manager assured me they have fresh ground brought in from a local farmer and you can tell they don't skimp on quality. The Caesars were awesome, which I drink one wherever I go. Highly recommend. Ask for Dennis or Sarah, they will treat you very well.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch on a day trip to Fergus. Felt ignored from start to finish... our burly waiter never stopped during our 35-40 min wait for food, or ask if we wanted another drink, or to see if our food was good (wasn't- cold fries, dry, thin fish) Wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
Incredible service 100%. The sticky toffee pudding is TO DIE FOR. Their mussles are so good that my 10yo orders them every time we were there. Yeah, that's right, a 10yo. The same kid who won't even look at a pizza if it has touched pizza sauce. During COVID, the service standard has been consistently amazing. Even with all the obstacles the food is so delicious, and now THEY DELIVER, which is so much better than pizza every night. Best place to call if you're looking for exceptional service standards and THE BEST wings. You heard me. I meant what I said. If you get a busy signal just keep calling. It's sooooo worth it.

Yelp
Unable to get a seat at 5pm on a Monday despite the dining room being completely empty due to future reservations. Beyond outrageous and will not be returning during my trip here

Yelp
Stopped in for the night at the B&B. Dinner was great. The jalapeno pepper burger was awesome and the trout platter nice. Great atmosphere and lovely/friendly staff.

Yelp
Well, this place just set a new standard for me. I've always been a fan of liver and onions as a diner staple. Hands down best liver and onions I've ever had. Perfectly cooked liver with skilfully caramelised onions, bacon, roasted potatoes and actually fresh, crispy, tasty sautéed veggies. Friends had the fish and chips (lovely and a nice light breading, HUGE portion) and the Jambalaya (Not really spicy, but quite tasty and also a huge portion). Good selection of local draught beers. I don't drink anymore so I can't say more than that, but my friends assure me they were excellent. Decor is nice, early industrial with a beautiful view of the river. I found the ceiling fans, run off a pulley system to be wonderfully quaint and really quite cool. Came here on a Saturday, they were very busy and we had to wait about 20 mins for a table but the service was excellent, food cane fast, and we did not feel at all rushed. Check it out.

Yelp
Found this as a recommended place when I was looking for a place to wind up on Sunday drive. The building is over a century old, having been a tannery, a flour mill, a hatchery, and a early power plant during it's life. Now it has become a pub and restaurant. The atmosphere is very old school as you would expect, with belt driven fans turning overhead. The crowd is local, but visitors feel welcome. The food seems excellent, the two dishes I had were tasty indeed! I had the smoked trout cakes as a starter and a curried chicken enchilada as a main with a small Caeser salad. There is also a nice beer selection available, but I didn't sample any on this visit.

Yelp
tried to place an order to be told their menu is outdated and they didn't have what we wanted for lunch. Call back after making another decision for what to order just to be told the cook wasn't there yet. Not going to try to order from this "business" again.

Yelp
We arrived early on a Tuesday evening just before this atmospheric restaurant and pub filled up. The staff were pleasant and patient with everyone. The one drawback was the food. I ordered a stew with Guinness, beef, carrots, potatoes and more. Very good. But the soggy, tough pastry shell led me to believe my dish had been prepared the day before and when nobody ordered it, refrigerated overnight. Too bad. A professional cook would have thrown it out rather than lose a customer.

Yelp
Hands down the best place to eat or grab a drink in Fergus. We have been going for 10 years. The staff is amazing and the food is to die for. Best chicken wings in Wellington county as far as I'm concerned. They have a great selection of beers on tap as well. Love us some Brewhouse

Food I.

Yelp
Haven't been to this place in quite sometime being resident of Fergus. The servers were quite nice and helpful, but the menu was less than desired. Once it was full of delicious choices and meals, now anything that goes into a deep fryer will do. No chocolate milk for kids menu, and the amount of flies in the place (real ones, not bar ones) was unreal. I literally think there were less flies outside. The patio over looks the grand river which is great, and the beer was cold. Disappointed with the food options and amount of flies. I mean I'd rather see a fly strip in the corner loaded with flies stuck to it rather than fighting them to keep off my deep fried fish. Yes I order the fish and chips. Fish was over done crispy. The Slice of lemon looked like a dried up labia from a 95 year old woman. The fries were heavy with grease like it was not hot enough when they started out but burned. The Tatar sauce was good. Lol Such a shame that this restaurant, in my opinion has really taken a turn downhill and in a great location in a historic building. If you want wings and beer in the patio this is the place, otherwise head else where before you waste your money. Or get carried away by the flies.
