25 Castles You Can Book on Airbnb: Loire Valley Châteaux, 15th-Century Venetian Homes, and Upstate New York Manors | Condé Nast Traveler

"If you're traveling in a small group that adores the outdoors, this Scottish castle is a no-brainer to book. The garden apartment has its own kitchen, living room, two twin beds, a garden area you can access from the courtyard, and a shared utility room. There's miles of forest, hills for afternoon strolls, and an area for fishing, plus you'll have easy access to local restaurants." - Alex Erdekian, Jessica Sulima

Unique place to stay, definitely something to try. If you havent got a car this area can be difficult to get anywhere. Beautiful scenery and we were even able to hear owls at night. No fire kit provided even though it said it was provided on Airbnb. No problem for us personally but the hosts are very quick to reply if it is for others. I understand it should be cleaned by who ever else was there last, but as new guests coming in there are some areas that were needing done (mould in sponge tray, dead wormy beetles behind headboard etc). Other than this we had a relaxed stay

This was the best airbnb we have ever stayed in- absolutely magical. The welcome from Mimi was really friendly and helpful- she made it so special for us by opening up the roof sauna, and the roof terrace so we could see the stars. I have 2 daughters and they felt the place was really magical and were blown away. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen / living area was really homely and rustic. Everything worked and was clean and tidy. The location is very rural, but the local town is 15 minutes away by car- the perfect distance if you ask me!

Staying at the Bridge House was like stepping into a fairytale. It was so beautiful, peaceful & romantic. We absolutely loved staying here. We strolled by the river, sat by the fire & marvelled at the beauty of it all. Mimi, our host was so lovely & helpful. We would recommend the Bridge House to everyone.

The bridge cottage was fabulous. We felt as if we were taken back to another time. The bedroom and bed were so cozy and the kitchen area was very spacious. It was so peaceful listening to the babbling stream just below us with our windows open. The cottage was an absolute gem and my favorite place we stayed in all of Scotland. Please be aware for those who have mobility issues, the winding stone staircase up to your bedroom may not be easy to climb esp with luggage . It was not a problem for us at all, however. Our host was a delight. Very friendly, helpful and responsive.

To say the Bridge House was the biggest disappointment is an understatement. Renters beware the owners make this out to appear you are renting the entire house…you are not! It’s divided into 3 separate airbnbs, there was no rooftop balcony(perhaps in the other Airbnb I thought I was renting) pictures are a mix of the two Airbnbs, the 3rd section I believe the owner lives there. After traveling all day we arrived at night to a part of the Bridge House that was nothing like what we were expecting. A kitchen that smelled of rotting cheese with cob webs and dirty floors, a part of the wall pulling away to show the installation and random pills on the counter. There was a swing in the corner that was so dry rotted if you tried to sit in it the strings at the top started to snap one by one. Upstairs was 2 bedrooms, one so small our friends couldn’t walk around the bed once their bags were in the room(1 bag each mind you) the other room was a decent size but the bedsheets had holes. The bathroom was covered in black mold, the ceiling and the window all covered, and the toilet paper was just chilling on the floor because there was no holder for it…This place is a heath and safety issue! Totally get the it’s a “gate house” but it’s unacceptable to have black mold and prescription medication in an Airbnb, over looking the fact that the ad for this place is extremely misleading. Renters beware of what you actually getting, cool building yep 100% for pictures only not to stay in. There are way better places to stay in for your money that won’t smell like rotten cheese and won’t be a health risk when you take a shower.

Easily one of my favourite places to stay. So beautiful, scenic and relaxing. A place to come and get away from everything. I just hope they don’t keep raising the prices as I would love to keep coming!

This stay was amazing! On my bucket list but only happened by chance. Could not recommend more, its cost with castle charm.
