I Love the wood floors, the tall ceilings and the warm and comforting vibe of the staff. The bike selection is excellent, and the accessories offer variety without overwhelming me. I also LOVE the location, being able to take a test ride going bast the marina, and the lovely shops of downtown, can't be beat. My wife and I bought a Trek Cargo Bike, and it was REALLY HEAVY, but the shop staff came and helped me load it into our rental cargo van and even helped strap it down! Will definitely return for more bikes.

A great shop at the end of town! Excellent selection of items and very helpful sales staff! I needed a new bike helmet and they had some great ones! I ended up buying the nicest helmet I've ever owned for half-price!!

Excellent support. Personalized attention. Measured my feet, just to confirm my shies size! The only other place i receive that kind of support is Nordstrom’s!

This is a great little bike shop! I bought an e-bike here last weekend and I'm super happy so far. Dan helped me with the purchase and he was fabulous - friendly and kind and very knowledgeable about all kinds of bikes! He also helped install the new mirror and water bottle cage I bought along with the bike. I was able to easily test ride the bike and test it out on nearby hilly roads. I highly recommend The Broken Spoke!

I bought my red Trek Verve from Broken Spoke 5 years ago. It was my dream to buy a new bike at 64 y.o.! But due to the pandemic and the huge bike shortage that occurred, many stores only had bikes on backorder. I told Broken Spoke which model (and color!) I wanted and through an interesting sequence of events they actually located one for me. I love my bike ("Red Rover") and Broken Spoke takes good care of both of us!

My husband and I enjoy how all of the staff are so knowledgeable about the bikes you sell and when we’ve asked about customizing and upgrading our bikes you go the extra mile to make everything look most excellent. Thank you Henry and Pete for really dialing up the new front shocks ! Also so nice that you folks were able to do the updates on the BMW Bosch bike too, we will continue to bring it in for updates. For sure we recommend friends to the Broken Spoke and look forward to getting more friends riding ebikes and exploring the Peninsula with us.

A great local shop.I highly recommend these folks. I bought two bicycles from Trek. Both have been great. They also do great on their repair shop business.

The Broken Spoke is a fantastic bike shop. I have been doing business with them for several years and they constantly exceed expectations. Pete and team are very knowledgeable and are solutions oriented. They treat traveling customers with kindness, knowing a mechanical problem can ruin a vacation. Quality of work is excellent, work is timely and costs are fair. Port Townsend is lucky to have this shop!

Went in to have a tire fixed, and they instead showed me how simple it was to do myself, sold me what I needed to do it, and saved me $10...plus all the savings in the future! That is what I call good old fashioned service!!

A town with 9,000 inhabitants and four bike shops?!? Yup. That would be PT. The first one a casual visitor is likely to encounter is The Broken Spoke on Water Street, because it's so visible. The shop seems to derive much of its traffic from e-bike rentals. But I've been experiencing some pretty severe hand numbness issues while riding, and the staff has been extremely patient and helpful. I'm now waiting on a backordered set of Jones h'bars, with high hopes of retaining the feeling in my hands. Not being able to feel brake levers is a little hair-raising. Well stocked and well informed staff. The internet has dealt a severe blow to bike shops everywhere. Support your LBS!

I bought my new e-bike from Broken Spoke and had a number of accessories installed. The folks I dealt with were friendly, knowledgeable and did quality work. I love being able to support my local businesses! I highly recommend them to anyone :-)

"How much Pot have you Smoked Today?" That was the question I should've asked Elton Bong and Emily Blunt before dropping off my E-Bike for repair. Not only did they reneg on their promise to fix, they lost my ticket, threw my bike in the back room and proceeded to COMPLETELY BLOW ME OFF for WEEKS without a phone call, explanation or second thought. Shame on you, Broken Toke.

What a nice shop. We are on vacation and my mountain bike chain broke. Brought it in and the gal very quickly and nicely put on a new chain and made a few other quick inexpensive adjustments. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes. Very highly recommend this shop!

Dan and everyone in this place treated me with courtesy. More importantly, with knowledge and a curiosity about my riding habits and abilities, to better serve my needs. In an age where locally owned and operated stores are becoming more rare, it is a pleasure to be able to rent (hope to purchase soon) from people who care about their community and know what they're talking about.

Brought in my Bulls eMTB for a new cassette and tune-up. They did a great job and took the extra time to answer my questions in detail. I learned quite a bit of things that were not in the owners manual about my bike. Highly recommend these guys to anyone wanting quality bike repair and advice. Shout out to both Pete and Mark for helping me out.

Never in my many, many moons have I had the astonishing good pleasure to have bicycle problems remedied within a single hour! The assurances of youthful whipper-snappers manning The Broken Spoke of a "walk in" policy was entirely true; flat tire and floppy shifter cables were repaired and adjusted, respectively, in under an hour, and for a very reasonable fee. Whoever developed The Broken Spoke's customer service policies and procedures ought to offer consulting services to the many slo-mo shops floundering in Anytown, USA. Impressed, MD

Pete is a master at figuring out bike problems and fixing them and is great. The only complaint I have is they aren't friendly to walk ins who need something and happen to be on their bike. Sorry, I can't wait around two hours for a bike rack to be installed on my bike. They lost a sale today consisting of a nice rack and saddle bag which would have totaled over $200 because they said it could take two hours to install. Ridiculous. Some of the employees aren't great with mechanics, but they are all very nice, just not supportive of those who come in on their bikes and need help. Which go counter to the culture they are part of and should embrace, but I guess those who drive their cars to the bike store with their electric bikes are more important than me. Too bad because I am doing more for climate change than those who are using our precious resources to fuel their exercise. I question their priorities.

What a class act bunch of guys. Took my Trek mountain bike for repairs and they took my bike right away (on Labor Day no less) and discovered the bike was assembled incorrectly. Great work at a reasonable price, and fast service....thanks

THE GOOD NEWS 1. The two guys in the shop were very nice. 2. They completed my repair in a timely manner. 3. It appears they did a good job. THE BAD BEWS When I came back to pick up my two bikes, the technician charged me $90 to clean and lube two chains. $90. That seems really, really excessive. MY MISTAKE I assumed their charge for cleaning and lubricating two chains would be significantly less. I didn't ask up front. That was my mistake As I left their store, I wasn't angry, but I was disappointed -- in them, and in myself.

I needed to rent a Mt bike for a next day all day ride in the Olympics. The very friendly staff at TBS were great- sized a bike adjusted the shocks and we were out the door. The bike was practically new, a full suspension gem that handled flawlessly on pavement, logging road and trail. After a wicked hard day of riding we got the bike back to the shop a couple of hours late - no problem! Also none of the rental helmets fit so they pulled a new one off the shelf. Great service, great bike, great price. Renting a bike for a day was cheaper than shipping my own from Boston. TBS is THE place to rent a bike in PT.

Went in to get my toddler a bottle, as he likes my big bottles for my bike. When we went in, he saw the little yellow Strider on the stand in the window and I took it down for him to ride. I met the clerk working and we talked about how great it is for there to be a "bike" for younger kids to start with. I asked how much they were and he replied $98 to which I replied "You got one in red?" They did and w/o hesitation said "ring it up". You can't beat the look on my 21 month old sons face when he strolled out of the shop on his new bike. The shop is always full of nice employees who are knowledgeable and I love being able to get my sons first bike from an LBS- so this is win/win all the way around!

Really a great place. Even though they sell a lot of high and bicycles the guys took the time to fix my sons bike. The work was done right in front of me and was reasonably priced. And everyone was nice and courteous. Thanks guys!

On a multi-day bike trip, we broke a spoke on the rear wheel of our tandem. Our tour would have been over, if Broken Spoke (how apt) hadn't done such a stellar job. They noticed that the entire drive-side of the wheel was wrongly laced and more spokes would have broken. They re-laced the wheel and replaced worn parts - all within an hour while we had lunch in Port Townsend, and in time for us to catch the ferry and make it to our destination. At an extremely reasonable price too. These guys care about cyclists, not just about making a buck. Support them!
