The Broome Hotel New York

Checked in at 9PM and was amused by the aesthetic decor of the hotel. We struggled to locate the front desk agent and await for 15 mins while pressed “ the ring bell” various times per message instruction at front desk. Finally we checked-in by ourselves through addressing one of the room cards displayed at on shelves behind front desk. After checking in and settled down, we received various phone calls summoning us to the front desk to officially register as guests. It was an inconvenience but these things happen, because of this experience we feel that the customer service could improve on attentiveness. Other than this mishap, the front desk and rest of staff are friendly and caring. The room is spacious with many amenities. I appreciate the bathrobes, toothbrush kit, makeup remover and cotton pads. It had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The mattress was comfortable and the sheets are cooling. The noise level was well handled, definitely a good place to rest after a long day. Breakfast was delicious! Good coffee and food with a variety of choices. Nice ambiance in the inner courtyard where dining took place, nice music and decors.

If you’re interested in proximity to SOHO shopping, this is a fantastic location. Rooms were quiet. I noticed our room had two sets of windows, which helped immensely with noise. During the 3 nights of our stay, we found 2 out of 3 people at the front desk friendly. One person, who we encountered multiple times, just seemed like he had other places he would prefer to be. Getting into the hotel is a bit of a hassle with luggage as there are stairs and the entry door is narrow. I noticed that there is an elevator on the inside of the hotel that will assist in getting your luggage to street level, but I was informed that is only used/offered when you depart. We departed at 4 am and there was no one at the front desk to help us so we had a rough time getting out. Breakfast wasn’t anything over the top, but more than you get at other hotels. Overall a nice stay, but we will likely check out other hotels in the area for our next trip.

I have always wanted to stay at this hotel. It’s in a very convenient location in SoHo and it’s a lovely small boutique hotel with a tranquil courtyard that gives you a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.||The staff here are wonderful and eager to help. They were always nice and friendly. Breakfast was also great and it was nice to enjoy it in the courtyard.||The rooms were very comfortable and we did get to experience how quiet this hotel was. I will say that it’s only quiet when you have respectful neighbours.||On our first night we unfortunately were on the same floor with guests who decided to have people go constantly in and out of their rooms and just talk loud and yell in their room between 1am-3am. Being that it’s a 14 room hotel and an average of 3 rooms within the same hallway on each floor, they sounded like they were just outside your door the whole time and we did not have a good sleep that night. This is not the hotels fault but it’s something to take note. ||We also had someone knock on our door at midnight on our last night which we found very disturbing since the hotel was fairly empty and knocking on the wrong room is pretty impossible in a 14 room property. I will say this was the first hotel we’ve stayed at in NYC where we didn’t feel fully secure in. Anyone can access the floors if you’re in the hotel with no security key card for the elevators or the doors leading from the courtyard to the floor hallways.||Besides all this, I’m glad we got the opportunity to stay at this hotel and meet the wonderful staff.

Totally overrated and overpriced, even for SOHO. Room is small but clean and well equipped, as expected for 400$ night. But the mattress makes noise like it has been wrapped in plastic, so every move makes this strange plastic bag noise. Would be ok in hostel… in the morning I asked if I can use the room till noon, but I was told it would be a extra 50$ for the extra hour (check out is 11am). For that price you can find much better in NYC! Not recommended at all!

Hotel is in a great location, but that is it. I have never paid $750 for a night to stay in a room with a plastic wrapped mattress, could not sleep at all. Room was miniature, tiny bed, and to pay $50 for a later (1 hour checkout) felt like an overpriced motel. Really regret staying here.

Small boutique hotel in Soho. Tiny everything but the location is prime and convenient. Didn’t expect the hotel or rooms to be big but it was way smaller than expected. The hotel staff is nice and helpful though. I would only recommend for singles or couples.

Actually, our stay was May 2022 but I'm|late in my review and was not able to select that date. Overall, our accommodations were fine, nothing spectacular, but the worst part was having to pay the rate of a room that includes a "free breakfast" when they do not cater to all dietary restrictions, even when asked for other options. Overall, the location was good and room size was cozy, but prob considered decent sized for NYC standards. I will probably not stay here in the future.

If your priorities are a quiet sleep and a great location in SOHO near many subway lines, the Broome Hotel is likely the right choice for you. Bonuses — light breakfast included and caring service offered. The internal courtyard rooms are remarkably quiet for NY — none of the din that echoes up to most hotel room windows.||That said, the room was quite basic and small. Plenty of room for storing clothes, but the lighting was limited (often too dark even on a sunny day) and we were a bit reluctant to dwell in the room for long. The interior rooms lacked a view (making them quiet) adding to their claustrophobic quality. If only there were some public space to enjoy in lieu of room square footage. Alas, there was not. There is no lobby or library to sit in. There is a courtyard, but it will not be comfortable in most seasons. There is certainly no bar and little sense of the energy of NYC.||If we were paying an off-season rate, the basic nature of this hotel would be more agreeable. We were paying well over $500/night. In a recent trip, staying in one Paris’ best neighborhoods, we paid about $350|for similar space and amenities, with a view and public spaces.||We experienced no problems and good service, so I recommend the hotel. We will likely choose another hotel with a bit more to offer next time.

Without doubt the best hotel in NYC. I stayed here once, a year ago, and would go back again in a heartbeat. The location cannot be beat - central to everything a person could want to do or see in Manhattan (perhaps this is best illustrated by the fact that it is RIGHT NEXT DOOR to Harney and Sons, the best tea shop in NYC, which is saying a lot). The service could not have been better. I arrived prior to my check-in time and they were so gracious; I was completely discombobulated due to being there for a memorial event, and was still pretty upset about my loss. They were so understanding, and even found a different, BETTER room for me to check in to that let me change and leave for my event. I wish I could give more stars. The hotel itself is so lovely. The courtyard is an oasis of calm, and with only a handful of rooms, the entire property is on a human scale that is otherwise nearly impossible to find in NYC. It is a super-refreshing contrast to large, corporate hotels that thousands of people sweep in and out of, with all of their messes, germs, etc; this place feels like you're staying in the stately home of a very solicitous friend. The breakfast cooked to order on the premises (next to the courtyard) was so nice, and started the day in such a civilized way. The rooms were very nice, too. Perhaps best of all -- and again, nearly unheard-of in NYC -- they were QUIET. Even in one with a window on the street, I was able to sleep like a baby. My only regret is that my trip was such a whirlwind that I wasn't better able to express to the staff how much they helped me in a difficult time. But I hope this conveys some of that here -- you could not ask for a better home away from home on your travels in New York.

Great little hotel in the heart of SoHo. The staff were gracious and polite the room was very comfortable and clean. A little like Hotel meets B&B. Loved the little courtyard it was decorated for Xmas and when we checked in it began to snow. It felt like they planned it. We met the owner as we were checking out and he was honesty interested in our stay. Will be coming back to this cute little hotel!

Great location. Friendly staff. Place is stylish and clean, but the rooms are VERY small. The bed and pillows were uncomfortably soft (especially the pillows; terrible). Breakfast was good in the little cafe with a wonderful woman running the show. Air conditioner didn't seem to adjust, so it was either very cold, or warm and stuffy (the windows don't open). A decent place, but for the price ($500+) I was expecting a lot more, and not to be in a room that felt like a closet (the photos on the website don't accurately show the true size of the room; many seem to be just of the penthouse suite which seems deceptive).

Had a problem with room temp in the middle of the night and i couldn't reach anyone at the front desk. The next day they told me they actually had called me. So they didn't fix the problem, but they did manage to call me a liar. And not give me a refund.

Amazing boutique hotel ! Beautiful well appointed rooms. Very good customer service. Secure entry. Very convenient location! I will definitely keep this one on my list of favorites !

I only spent two nights here but I can tell this place was thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind. The lighting might be a bit dim for some people but it is adjustable and color temperatures were obviously chosen for comfort. Bed linens are extremely smooth. You also have two firm pillows and two really soft. Towels are good thickness, shower pressure is really fine (for the city) and the HVAC unit is super quiet in heat or cool mode. What more could you want? Oh yeah, great espresso in the morning with eggs, croissants and friendly staff. Thanks for a great stay!

For the price and location, I was completely satisfied. This hotel has a special feel, like a European hotel. With only 14 rooms, it offers a boutique experience in a bustling city. A welcome respite for travelers. The front desk man was very helpful (I did not get his name), and Eduardo welcomed me at the cute cafe for a lovely breakfast. Mitchell Gold furniture, upscale amenities and a friendly staff will insure that I return! The hotel rooms were very clean too.

The hotel, location and lobby are nice, along with the courtyard. However, the room was not great. Had a dorm room feeling for me and when not taking the restroom into account, which while small, has a nice feel, the rest of the room is a bit lack luster. I stayed in the junior suite with the expectation that the room would be nicer than perhaps the smaller rooms. While, it is larger, it could certainly use some painting and new flooring other than the carpet, which didn't look bad, but felt a bit dingy. Also wires visible on the side of the small flat screen is not ideal. Certainly not worth the $600+ per night cost. If the room were refundable, I would likely shift to another hotel. I would not stay again.

So confused by this place. This is definitely more of a hostel than a hotel. I regretted booking 2 nights at The Broome the moment I arrived. There is no doorman or anyone to assist with luggages - the main/only entrance is a narrow door up a steep flight of stairs. You could easily mistake this place for a clothing boutique. I'm visiting New York for over a week, so I had a large and heavy suitcase with me. I was struggling to lug my bags up the stairs and almost fell. Thankfully, a kind older gentleman who was a hotel guest offered to help me with my luggage. Up the stairs, I was greeted by an empty front desk. Found a note left by the front desk staff with his phone number, so I called him and he returned a while later. During this time, another guest intending to check out looked around the empty front desk - confused as well. Finally, Brice returned to show me around the property (which really only consisted of the courtyard and cafe), and asked the other guest to wait in the lobby. At this point it was clear that the entire place was managed by 1 person. When I opened the door to my room (35), I was taken aback at how small it was. The ceilings were high - which helped. But it was just so dark inside even with the lights on. The only window in the room opened up to the hallway, which you would not want to keep open because everyone walking by can see into your room clearly. When I checked in, it was 11AM and beautiful outside - but the amount of natural light that reached the room was negligible. The bathroom was the size of the closet in my apartment - no window and no ventilation. I finally had the last straw when I needed to get something out of my luggage and there was no space at all for me to lay my luggage down and open it. I lasted 1 hour in this hotel. However, I did enjoy a small breakfast at the cafe which was delightful, and both Eduardo and Brice were very pleasant. So, two stars for them! Unfortunately, the hotel refused to refund me for my stay even though I checked out before the time that I was supposed to check in (3PM). However, I just could not stay in this depressing place a minute longer. I'm now at a 5-star hotel for the same price I paid for my claustrophobic, dark room at The Broome.

Charming SOHO hotel. In fact, charming all around. The front desk folks making conversation when we arrive or leave, remembering our names. The European courtyard with vases full of snack food. The breakfast nook with mini bagels and lox, plus some of the best eggs my partner has ever had. Rooms with queen-sized beds and a sofa and totally quiet - virtually no noise from the outside world. Plus a charming neighborhood. The only thing the hotel lacks is a spot to have a cocktail - luckily the Crosby Hotel has an excellent bar, just a few blocks over.

When we travel with the kids we opt for airbnb cause for the four of us it is just cheaper and I can quickly make some food if needed. But for the two of us staying at the Broome was simply perfect! It is very cozy and quiet in the perfect location of SoHo. A lovely breakfast is included and one of the owners stayed at the hotel and had breakfast there too, which I think means a lot. Whenever we got back from our walks Erik would make us warm tea. So welcoming! I would definitely go back there when I have a chance.

Best hotel. Super clean. Super charming. Really comfortable. Love it!

When we checked in to the Broome NYC, we immediately noticed a dank, mildew smell in the room, and the carpeting felt wet to the touch. We then found the bedding, the towels, the robes, and everything else were wet to the touch. On our way out to a play, spoke to the front desk about our concerns and asked if we could be moved. We were told there was nowhere to move but if we could wait until the morning, we could move then. When we returned, we tried to live with the situation, but sleeping in wet, cold bedding was impossible. Again, contacted the front desk. Alex at least apologized and tried to adjust the HVAC settings in the room. The woman at the desk earlier had said she would check the room while we were gone, but she had not and made no notes about the incident. Alex assured us that the manager, Natasha Ramjohn, would do everything she could to help in the morning. Next morning spoke to Natasha. She offered us a smaller, darker, still dank room, but no apologies. We stated the situation was untenable and we'd be checking out. Still, no apologies, and no offer of refund (we had paid for the room in advance, unfortunately). She told us we'd only be refunded if they booked the room again (no one should have been offered that room). At this point we were so miserable, we felt we had no choice but to leave, just so we could get some sleep. We moved to the Bowery Hotel which I would highly recommend for their comfort and customer service. Avoid the Broome NYC.

What an amazing boutique hotel!!! The staff was so helpful and attentive to your every need. We were so lucky to have the penthouse for our room. It had a large outside deck with plenty of room to invite some friends. When we first arrived to the room we were escorted by Natasha and she explained the room beautifully ! She also sent up two bottles of Proseco for us to enjoy!! Wonderful breakfast with cooked to order farm fresh eggs, fruit, fresh, bread-squeezed OJ, and a to die for latte. Again the staff was so sweet and treated us so well. We will definitely visit this hotel again!

I can't say enough nice things about The Broome and our stay. The staff is very friendly and inviting. The central patio is so authentically European I really felt like I was in France or Spain. The complimentary breakfast was excellent! The room was very comfortable, a perfect respite when we needed to rest our tired feet. I know it's a bit pricey but I felt like it was worth the extra money.

Above and Beyond! I can't say enough about The Broome Hotel and Staff. My wife and I did a courthouse wedding downtown, and got three rooms for us and our parents to stay in. Aside from this hotel being absolutely beautiful and clean, the reception team took complete care of us and our guests. They left hand written notes congratulating us on our marriage, let my photographer set up equipment for pictures, hooked us up with mimosas and champagne the morning of our wedding, brought us coffee when we asked and generally making everyone feel welcomed and comfortable. It's hard to find such an accommodating hotel, where they actually care about their guests in NYC. Well done Broome team, and Thank You!

Great spot. If you want to cruise around Tribeca Soho in Greenwich it's very easy walking from this hotel. The staff is very friendly as well. We really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed for a whole week.

I stayed here for 2 nights with a friend when my hotel fell through last minute. They didn't have any more rooms with double beds, but no worries since the rollaway bed was super comfy. Literally felt like a brand new mattress. Front desk staff was super friendly. They have a complimentary ironing service, fresh apples, and water available for free, a conference room, lovely outdoor courtyard that reminds me of Europe, and an awesome breakfast. Ask for their soft boiled egg w/ truffle salt + latte = fab way to start the day. Rooms were big, clean, and nicely done. Located conveniently near shopping and food. Will definitely recommend.

Booked a room at Broome NYC through hotels.com for family trip and we had to urgently change our travel plans. Initially, there was some confusion and concerns around making the change. However, the Broome staff was extremely helpful and was able to accommodate our travel plans. Experience with guest services for our preparations was positive. Our stay at the Broome NYC was wonderful. Staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Hotel and rooms were the cleanest that we've ever experienced in NY. The cafe had excellent service. Cafe offered quality breakfast meals and epic coffee drinks. It is easy to notice that special attention to detail was made when this hotel was created. Its style is a cohesive presentation of unique artwork, music, lighting, decor and staff personality. In other words: the identity is solid not a lost mishmash. The courtyard is a great place to rest. A comfy spot for a retreat but nice to still hear the subdued hum of the bustling metropolis just outside. The neighborhood is wonderful too. Shops, cafes, restaurants. Well placed hotel. We will make the Broome NYC our first choice when staying in New York

This boutique hotel is such a treasure. Beautiful architectural features and generous amenities are only the start of it. Everyone on the staff was incredibly gracious and anticipated our needs like you would expect from a luxury 5 star hotel. Natasha and Erik went above and beyond to be of service. And the darling gentleman who was working the morning I left, ran to make me a latte before the town car Erik had arranged the night before took me to the airport. At 3:45am. With a kind smile on his face. At 3:45am! Can't wait to come back.

One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. Large rooms, great beds and a beautiful breakfast courtyard full of flowers flowing from the balconies above. The staff is attentive to your every need. I wish I could have stayed longer. Perfect location surrounded by shopping, restaurants and bars.

My boyfriend and I stayed here last March and it was wonderful. The Broome is an authentic (not cheesy or pretentious) boutique hotel. It is beautiful, comfortable, the staff is so kind and accommodating, and such a nice retreat in the middle of Soho. I love the courtyard and cafe. I would stay here again in a second!

Stayed in the Penthouse suite and had a major bug problem, both of us were bitten by mosquitos, we let the hotel know and they tried to take care of the problem...they were unsuccessful and followed up with many excuses and telling us there was not a problem (I shared photos of the mosquitos to the hotel). Overall the situation was handled poorly as the hotel management is in denial and would not own up to rectifying the problem. Not impressed with the manner in how they have responded...this is a serious health issue...BEWARE!!

A jewel in soho, a boutique experience with exceptional service. I highly recommend it to those that seek something outside the typical stay. Great art, locally sourced everything for breakfast and a highly personalized touch for guests.

Recently stayed here in the Penthouse for a weekend to NYC and everything was fabulous. Greeted by Eric with poise and welcoming demeanor. The room and patio were cozy with every amenity we could need. All the staff was friendly helpful and prompt. Great location and a gem in soho!!

This location is really hard to beat with SoHo right outside the door and plenty of awesome places to eat within reasonable walking distance. Like others said, the service from the staff is great, and my wife liked the design and style of the hotel. The size of our room was typical NY cozy, and we would definitely stay here again. My only complaint would be that water seems to splash pretty easily out of the shower and onto the bathroom floor, but that may not be a problem for everyone.

A hidden gem in NYC. Beautiful (especially the penthouse suite and the courtyard) and quiet, in a great location. Would love to return for another stay one day. Highly recommend!
