The Bungalow by Kove Collection

This was our first time dining at The Bungalow, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! I booked a table for 7 pax via Dineplan and noted in the comments that it was my husband’s birthday and our waitress surprised him with a birthday dessert plate! The reservation was made for 1 pm and we were blessed with glorious weather: clear blue skies, no wind, 27 degrees. We were seated outdoors, overlooking the Twelve Apostles and the ocean - an absolutely stunning setting! Our waitress was friendly and efficient, and every dish we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. Portions were more than fair - the dessert was especially indulgent, and even their “small” house salad was anything but small. To start: Roasted red pepper hummus with pita bread (incredible!) Mains: Chicken Burger, Truffle Burger (OMG-level good!), Crispy Skin Sea Bass, Seafood Linguine, Small House Greens Salad with chicken (small, but definitely not), and the Chickpea Bowl Dessert: Selection of Sorbets, Caramel Sundae, and Crème Brûlée All in all, it was a flawless dining experience, from the food and service to the spectacular views.

The food was good, the service just average, and the view is great—if you manage to get a good seat. We had reserved an outside table but were placed almost inside instead. Even the bill stated our table was “inside.” Some guests were later offered better seats when they became available, but unfortunately we were not. It took ages before our order was taken. The starter arrived within a reasonable time and was very good. However, the main courses were served immediately while we still had our starter plates, which felt rushed. That said, the mains themselves were flawless. In between, we again had to wait far too long to get new drinks—cocktails especially take forever. What I also didn’t find impressive was the bread and butter. It was served carelessly, with a reduced portion of butter that was already completely melted. At this price level, one would expect more attention to detail. Overall, it feels like the focus is more on quantity than quality, with the clear USP being the view. Not sure if I’ll return—probably only if I can guarantee a good seat.

Really enjoyed our time at Bungalow Kove. The food was fresh, well prepared, and beautifully presented – especially the seafood, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The salads and sides were light, tasty, and great for a summer lunch. The atmosphere is relaxed and stylish, with a great setting that makes it ideal for a long, easy meal. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Overall, a great spot with good food, a lovely vibe, and a place we’d happily return to.

The Bungalow in Cape Town delivered an unforgettable experience. The views are truly unmatched and set the tone from the moment you arrive. There is ample parking space which made everything easy and stress free. The atmosphere is beautiful with a relaxed yet stylish energy that makes you want to linger. The sushi is incredible and easily some of the best we have had, fresh and full of flavor. There seemed to be a theme of all white and we loved it, so I would definitely recommend guests dress in all white to match the vibe. Our highlight was when Coolio the waiter gave me a rose for my fiance, what a great wingman. That thoughtful touch made the night feel extra special and personal. We will absolutely be back.

Wonderful seafood and a fantastic dining experience overall. I highly recommend going for the seafood platter — fresh, flavourful, and beautifully prepared. I’ve been here twice on two separate trips to Cape Town, and each visit was thoroughly enjoyable. The outdoor seating is the best spot, especially if you go around sunset the views are absolutely stunning. It’s a fine dining establishment and tends to get busy, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation. A must-visit for great food and great views.

Such a vibe!! Beautiful place with beautiful people. Great kitchen! The food is freshly made and super tasty. Wide variety of drinks including really good wines and creative cocktails. Highly recommended for soaking up the best of the African sun and Cape Town vibes.

Tourist trap definition: I spent New Year’s Eve with my family, a special occasion, so we booked two months in advance and paid a deposit of over $1,000 for the six of us. When we arrived, we were told that two people who arrived earlier and got a big table: we figured out it was our table. We were then seated at a table next to the restrooms and staff doors, in a large empty room decorated with helium balloons (it was not a birthday), and the table was set up like a child’s birthday party : accessoires thrown on the table. We had to insist for 40 minutes before finally being given a more appropriate table. The menu offered only one dessert option. The food was not exceptional 5/10 especially considering the occasion and the price we paid. Drinks were not included, and the plates were oily… dessert plates were not the same: cheap ones cause not enough for the industrial dinner evening. While most of the staff were very kind, the manager was arrogant. I will not be returning. And never recommend it for anyone.

The mocktail I had was so refreshing and delicious, and the calamari was absolutely top tier. The bathroom is stunning with great lighting. Having read so many reviews about the views, I went in with high expectations, but since we went for dinner there were no views to enjoy, which was a little underwhelming. Still, it’s a beautiful spot overall and I am planning on going during the day to get the full experience.
