The mocktail I had was so refreshing and delicious, and the calamari was absolutely top tier. The bathroom is stunning with great lighting. Having read so many reviews about the views, I went in with high expectations, but since we went for dinner there were no views to enjoy, which was a little underwhelming. Still, it’s a beautiful spot overall and I am planning on going during the day to get the full experience.

Visited in June 2025. South Africa. Cape Town 🇿🇦 Strolling along the boardwalk, we stumbled upon this restaurant with a terrace that boasted scenic views of the ocean and the Twelve Apostles. FOOD: The Bungalow offers a European-inspired menu with a serious focus on seafood. We started with fresh oysters and a glass of bubbly – perfection! The oysters were incredibly fresh, boasting that beautiful ocean scent, and the meat was firm and delightfully slime-free. Score! We also opted for the breaded shrimp, which were cooked to crispy, juicy perfection. The shrimp were tender and succulent on the inside, with a delicate, crunchy coating. The mayo-based dipping sauce and a squeeze of lemon were the perfect complements to the delicate shrimp flavor. The only slight miss was the cheesecake. It just felt a little too heavy and dense for my liking. I prefer a lighter, smoother texture. And the ice cream was a tad too sweet, overpowering the cheesecake's flavor profile. SERVICE: Service was decent, albeit a tad slow. Overall, the waitstaff were friendly and attentive, even though the dishes took a little while to arrive. VERDICT: This place is absolutely perfect if you're looking to enjoy a meal with stunning scenery. I highly recommend visiting during sunset on a clear day – the views are simply breathtaking!

Had a lovely seaside lunch in the sun of the terrace 🌊 Had this on my list of places to try and it was lovely! The service was friendly and the food was yummy. We enjoyed wine and lunch while enjoying the sun and sea breeze of Clifton

I ordered baby kingklip - (R475) it arrived old and overcooked. The waiter was super nice & brought me another - despite it looking more like an old smoked fish, I couldn’t complain again. Just won’t be back. Overpriced - ps note to the kitchen kingklip has white flesh! (Not brown/grey)

What a fantastic restaurant. Really. This is truly a unique venue with an unmatched dining experience. The outdoor seating area has amazing views of the ocean and is comfortable and spacious but still feels cozy. The food is outstanding. The service is excellent. Staff are friendly, considerate and attentive. The decor throughout is premium, you don’t feel like the term “shortcut” is in the vocabulary of this venue. I’ve enjoyed steaks prepared to perfection, seafood that is fresh, delicious and moreish, sushi that was outstanding and the oysters with caviar - chef’s kiss! This is a must for anyone looking for a wonderful social dining experience.

My first time at this restaurant but will not be my last. No idea why I hadn't been here before. The service was both friendly and professional, the vibe was buzzy but still allowed a conversation and the food was first class. The location overlooking the ocean (not that you can see anything at night) is impressive. Plenty of parking and full security. Going back on Friday!!

The restaurant is situated in the heart of Clifton and offers a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean. I recon the best time to go is in the late afternoon where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset. The food is great and I would highly recommend the food platter which real value for money. I would also mention that the staff are so friendly and service time is perfect.

It was my 13th anniversary today, 31 March 2025 and it was my and hubby’s 1st time at the restaurant. What great service wow, from the parking, to the door, welcome drinks on arrival, absolutely amazing food and we got to meet the Head chef , Leroy Halford. What a gentleman. He came out to greet us, chat with us and was so warm. Desserts was amazing. The vibe was absolutely great. And the waiter was Asanda, totally great service. I definitely recommend The Bungalow. Wow. What an amazing experience
