We had one night stay with family in Neemrana bungalow on the beach, the property is literally on the shore, incredible 180 degree view of the ocean, you can see and hear the dancing and singing waves all day long. The property being 300+ years old has it's own charm and takes you centuries back although all modern amenities are there in the room which are very spacious. Staff is very helpful and courteous, food is made to order, very tasty, and served on the tables placed in the corners of the verandahs on four sides with mesmerizing views. The swimming pool was very clean and warm, the town has a Danish architectural flavour, everything including the Danish fort is within walking distance makes the stay perfect. I would definitely recommend this place to spend a weekend and enjoy the unique experience which is just 2 hours drive from Pondicherry or 4 hours from Chennai. Don't forget to drive to the harbour pier which is 1 km inside the ocean.

The Bungalow on the Beach is a fantastic spot if you're looking for a peaceful getaway. The highlight of this place is its stunning location right next to the Bay of Bengal, where you can enjoy the soothing sound of waves throughout the day. It's a less crowded destination with fascinating historical significance. The service is commendable, the food is simple yet satisfying, and the rooms are excellent.

We had a great time at the Bungalow by the beach, group of friends stayed there over a weekend. The place very nice, quiet not much disturbance as we nearly booked all the rooms. The food was awesome, they are able to make all the expected items. well made.

If you are looking for a quiet getaway far from the hustle and bustle of a city, this is a great option for such a retreat. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Listen to the waves of the sea as you sit in the verandah looking out over the Bay of Bengal, sipping tea/coffee and reading a book. Authentic old style villa, 300 years old with authentic, old furniture.

Stayed three nights while visiting fish landings with colleagues. The setting and room were fabulous and meals delicious. But I never got to taste breakfast as it didn't start till 7.30 and I had to meet my colleagues at 5.30am. |Don't stay here if you want to go birding or fishing early in the morning! Had to un-bar the front door to get out the first morning as nobody was about. The security guard at the front gate looked after me each morning while I waited for colleagues. |So good hearing the sea outside the room at night, was right at home (we live by the sea).|On the down side, the day I checked out (at 7.30) there was nobody around and no breakfast - took some hunting to find someone so I could pay the bill. All done on paper - I paid with credit card. They printed off four itemised copies and I did not get any of them!|But yes, I would stay there again, loved my sea-front room and its furniture.

Checked into a room on a Saturday. Went out and saw the Danish Fort, Museum, Church, Shiva Temple and the beach. Enjoyed. However the hotel stay was not so good. TV was not working. Ordered dinner, which turned out to be very spicy(inspite of specifically insisting that we do not take spicy food). Place is beautiful, but the hotel needs lots of improvement, especially the management needs a complete overhaul!

Bungalow on the Beach is a beautiful property. As the name suggests, actually an old British Collectors Bungalow with eight bedrooms. Wonderfully done up with spacious rooms, which give the Victorian vibes The food was good and delicious. The service staff is young and enthusiastic but need a little bit of training as the property attracts guests who would look forward to professional service. Overall a peaceful, calm and relaxed experience.

A charming old bungalow near the Danish fort was restored and converted to a hotel, Sea facing rooms are a must try and property has access to a public beach Service and food was good when we visited feb 2025 but prices were slightly on higher side Place is located close to Thirukadaiyur temple and near Karaikal port It's a place to visit and unwind while enjoying the beach view
