The Burger Stand -Santa Fe

Unfortunately, I was not a huge fan. Visiting from GA, I guess I am used ro a certain hospitality. We walked in and the lady looked like she hated us. She barely acknowledged us at 1st. While my kids studied the menu, I went looking for somewhere else to eat. When I came back, they were already ordering, so, I did too. A drink, burger, and fries $22. That is ridiculous. My kids were $25 and $24. It wasnt worth it. We ate outside, now that was beautiful.

Ummm. The good, the burger was large. I liked that part. The fries were good. Now, the bad. There weren't many fries, in my opinion. I like juicy good burgers, but this burger got soggy, mushy real fast, and it was just a mess and fell apart. It was pretty wet/soaked. Which was a no no for me. Could’ve been the bun being so soft/fluffy and couldn't hold the burger altogether. For the 18 bucks I dropped on it. It wasn't worth it. But the guy at the bar was friendly. Overall it was meh/okay. I was hungry and it wasn't too busy so I gave it a go.

Amazing place! Wonderful food. I chose the Kobe burger and it was incredible! I upgraded my fries to the truffle fries and omg I couldn’t stop shoveling them into my mouth. 10 for 10! I highly recommend this establishment

I loved the place, their burgers are really good. I love going every weekend. The meat is very fresh and those fabulous New Mexico-style sauces that I can enjoy with my food. I love the mango habanero sauce. 🌶️🥭 I loved your Marvel decoration🖤🕸️🕷️

The burger was decent but very pricey for what I got. The staff was nice and the vibe was great but the burger was just mediocre for the price.

The burger was cooked to perfection and tasted phenomenal! My whole family enjoyed our meal here, including the 10 month old. The server forgot my margarita and felt bad about it. When he brought it to me..... dam was that one of the best margaritas I've had! They accidently gave my husband my sweet potato fries, no biggie. The server brought out an extra serving of fries for the mix up. Then they also brought out another serving of sweet potatoes fries because they forgot the marshmallow sauce that was supposed to come with it. Honestly I didn't even know it was supposed to come with my sweet potato fries! The food, the staff, and the atmosphere were all top notch! We are Oregon natives and from now on, whenever we drive through Santa Fe we will be stopping here to eat! Thank you so much!!

I wasn’t even all that hungry. I was sharing a Classic with my kid. I had to stop after the first bite to emotionally recover. Nobody had hyped me up to be prepared for a life-altering burger experience. The vegetables were crisp and fresh. I could still feel the chill of the refrigerator on them. The patty was cooked medium-well. Until today, I’ve never experienced a “juicy” burger. I guess the best I’ve had was greasy. This was juicy. The burger came with no condiment. There was no effort to hide or “enhance” the burger. That’s how confident The Burger Stand is about their burgers.

We walked by this place and could smell the burgers and it drew us in. The place seemed pretty cool with an indoor bar area and seating area as well as an outdoor area. It wasn’t that packed, although there were plenty of customers sitting down eating and standing in line to order. The service was good, but I was disappointed they didn’t tell us the wait time for food when we were ordering. It took us about 50 minutes to get our food from the time it was ordered. I’m assuming it was because they were short staffed, but a courtesy heads up would have been great. The staff was friendly and really trying to be accommodating, but I just don’t think they had enough people working to meet the demand. Overall, the burgers were pretty good and they do have a selection of draft beers. I wish they had more sodas to choose from. One other thing is it’s cold sitting outside, but the heat burning lamps weren’t working. Apparently out of propane. They’ll need to fire these up again. Overall, the rating was based off this experience, but I’m pretty sure if I went when they were fully staffed it would’ve been higher.

Really good burger and fast service. I liked that you could order your burger whatever temperature you like. Recommend the green chile burger if you come.

I like the idea of this spot, but the my wife's burger was undercooked and the Chicago Dog failed to live up to my definition of a Chicago Dog (no poppy seed bun, no tomatoes, relish wasn't right, and it was missing the celery salt). The bun was also toasted, which is not right on a Chicago Dog either. Fries were underwhelming. I wished I had tried the onion rings instead.

Located near the plaza in Santa Fe New Mexico this place is a must stop. There are large selections of New Mexican cuisine, but they don't compare to this amazing hamburger. I got the green chili burger with fries. This meal reminded me so much of being a kid and having, homemade hamburgers for the Fourth of July. It was crispy on the outside and super juicy and so delicious on the inside . Service was great, ambience, was like many local establishments. Parking can be quite a challenge in Santa Fe but fortunately enough there's a parking garage right down the block from this amazing restaurant. So if your in town, for business or pleasure or just checking out the plaza, definitely check this place out. You will not be disappointed.

The food is just decent. Burgers are actually good. We also had a salad that was decent. Onion rings are just mass produced, not homemade. Drink selection is not impressive and they're out of a lot of options. Average is actually a pretty generous rating.

Please come here and try the smoke burger, medium. You will not regret your decision and order a side of duck fat fries to make your day better. The burger was juicy, with the perfect amount of tangy barbecue sauce, the bacon was cooked to crispy perfection I got a perfect piece at each burger bite. The duck fat fries were divine! Dip in some mayo or bbq sauce and you are set. There are sweet paintings/murals in the back patio area. This was one of those places were you order at the counter and they will cook to order and bring to the table. Everyone is so nice. I am finding though that everyone in Santa Fe is nice!

I loved this joint when it was The Burger Stand. The food is still good and the crowds still fill it up. Great location to the Lensic, the Plaza and small businesses. I ordered the small Kale salad. I don't see any kale but just as delicious.

So first of all we tried to call online to order. At 7:30 PM and it says they close at 7 which is wrong but it's all good! The burgers are delicious, I got the Smokey I would recommend. The ambience is lovely being on the plaza and the atmosphere was bustling! Over all I would recommend for events and sport games!

Great little spot with amazing sweet potato fries. We were immediately greeted by friendly staff. Ordering was very simple and there was no wait when we got there. We got the green chile cheeseburger with sweet potato fries which were crispy and delicious. we also got a side order of the wings and they did not disappoint. will definitely will be back again!

We were visiting from Dallas and wanted burgers. Based on great reviews we tried this place. My wife got the Kobe burger but they had to substitute regular beef since they were out of Kobe beef, but we probably were charged for the better beef. She said her burger was just okay. I had the smoke burger; it was overcooked and had so much BBQ sauce on it that EVERYTHING else was overpowered. Additionally I had to clean my hands after every bite. I substituted onion rings for the regular fries after the woman taking the order said they were good and definitely not frozen out of a bag. They WERE definitely frozen out of a bag. Two burgers, two beers, $50....should've gone to Five Guys for better food.

It used to be great. The menu has completely changed. It's overpriced, and the wings are super fatty and weird (antibiotics?) I've been coming here for 4 years, it's really changed. The beer tastes stale. And the customer service is gone. I miss The Burger Stand. The Taos Ale house sux.

I asked if the place changed hands they said no. Menu and bar are very different. Haven't been here in a couple of years and the "smoke" burger was nothing but spices and red in color due to spices. We did not finish.

Simple environment - burgers and beers. But they NAILED it! Delicious juicy burger, duck fat fries and beers were all amazing!

We arrived at Santa Fe hungry and so happy that we followed our instinct by the smells of grilled meat and walked into the Burger Stand. We both ordered two different burgers and shared them: the Green Chile Cheeseburger and the Fire. Both were so delicious! The price points for the burgers were also very affordable, however I felt a little misled by the staff who said it came with fries or a side salad. After checking the bill (because you pay before you get your order) via email, I noticed that they did charge extra for sides. Overall, the meal was delicious and I would choose this over some of the other tourist traps in the plaza.

If you haven't done it, traveling and staying on a keto diet has its challenges. The Burger Stand has LOTS of outdoor seating and menu looked like there were some options (other than salad) for me. I placed my order and was kind of embarrassed to tell them I was doing keto "so hold the bun." They didn't think that was odd at all. (You place your order inside at the bar and they bring it out to you.) When the bartender brought my order out, they didn't just put the pirt on a plate. They fashioned it in a bowl, topped with coleslaw and adorned it with marinated cucumber slices! This is the first place in Santa Fe that actually put effort into making my order look appetizing! It tasted every bit as good as the presentation! Wish I had discovered here sooner!

Friendly service, food was outstanding and a nice selection of beer on tap. Green chili burger was just right - nice kick! Well done!!! We will be back!

After calling a few restaurants in old town about food preparation for nut allergies, the person who answered the phone at the Burger Stand assured us our food would be prepared safely. we arrived to a dead restaurant and thought we had the wrong place -- the place was completely empty, that should've been our clue! Once we went inside, two people were behind the bar, we approached them and they seemed annoyed at us showing up. The young woman told us to order at the bar and pay. She was curt, short, and rushed us through our order. Her main interest was to upsell our order and explain that the last screen was for her tip. We added fries and I gave a tip. Our order came to $60+ We sat outside to an empty restaurant and eventually, the same two people brought our food with the same enthusiasm of a funeral procession. My teenage sons were equally incredulous at the service. The food was mid for the price but the service just killed the whole experience. We would have been better off ordering and getting our food directly from the kitchen. Had in not been for the difficulty in getting safe food for us, we'd have walked out within seconds of interacting with the young woman behind the bar.

2/2022: DEFINITELY HIGHLY RECOMMEND: This is a Glory Hallelujah thank you Lordy kinda burger establishment. The Burger Stand on W San Francisco St was absolutely scrumptious!. Park in the public space lot for $5 and come on down. Rustic, quaint ambience with indoor and outdoor seating (located behind the restaurant). Overall enjoyablle environment with friendly staff. Not many people during an early afternoon visit but I overhead a team member saying it gets very busy during the evenings. Note: I ordered my burger well done and next time will get it Medium-well. Deliciously tasty burger with awesome heat in the green Chile. The Classic was so much better than "classic" burger. Cheddar cheese, onion, tomato and fresh local greens. Those hot parmesan truffle fries were to die for. Ordered a basket and then another side of them because they were just that great! Ice cold beers consumed were 2nd Street 2920 IPA and a beautifully crispy cider. Yeah, I'm going back. Enjoy yourself!

This place is convenient and on the strip of that's what the area is called. The service is nice and attentive. The food is okay and they have $10 burger and fry combo. The hatch chili cheese hotdog was a bit much to handle but the taste was okay. It's a pleasant stop if you are nearby.

This was a hidden jem. The burgers and fry's were delicious. They were a good size portion and didn't skimp out. They have a large selection of beer. Ordering was easy and the food came out pretty quick. The waiter was friendly and seemed to enjoy his job. I would recommend checking this place out.

Great burger joint and bar in downtown Santa Fe near the Lensic Theater. We had the Impossible Burger and it was freakin amazing. We shared it but I wished I had ordered my own! I almost ordered more after we ate. The fries were tasty and served hot. The iced tea had a good tea flavor (normal black tea), but so many places water down their tea too much. This place had it perfect. Tables inside (and outside patio). Nice & casual. Service busses the tables quickly. And the prices are right. Good value for downtown SF. Will be back, guaranteed! Good job Taos Alehouse!

We ducked in during a rain storm. I thought the pulled pork sandwich was delicious. Wife had the shiitake burger and raved. Daughter who always gets wings said theirs were really good. Friendly and fast service. The only negative was a stale smell that the boss (?) seemed to notice after coming through the front door, as he propped it open. They had a couple of portable heaters running, so maybe it was that.

Great cool little ale house steps from the Plaza. They have a good selection of burgers and they can all be substituted with an Impossible burger. I had the Green Chile burger and my wife had the Classic, both with Impossible Burger. They were very good. They also have a good selection of beer, ciders and cocktails. We also had truffle fries. They have some great art hanging on all the walls. The service was outstanding.

Historically, I've liked this place quite a bit. I hadn't been here for a while, and then recently I went in for a burger. The menu had changed (again), and was informed by the person taking orders that folks can no longer request how their burger is cooked. Huh? Really? Given I'm the one eating the burger and not the cook, this seems bizarre. If that continues, very unlikely that I'll be coming back here, nor recommending this spot to anyone.

Excellent green chili burger! I would definitely recommend this place. It was clean with good customer service. My only complaint is I wish they had more non alcoholic drink options.

This hip bohemian vibe burger joint has some cool vibes. The staff are okay here with the service. The burger and fries where good, but nothing distinctive. I have never had a burger with arugula salad - it was good but just becomes a mess after a few bites.

This place was wonderful. We ate on the patio in burro alley with our dog. (Dog friendly!). The food arrived quickly and was also delicious! There is also a lot of beautiful ,local art and murals inside the restaurant. Definitely recommended!

Delicious and super attentive. Customer service was incredible as well. I got the mango jalapeño wings and I loved them! Highly recommend.

Wanted to try more variations of the Chile Burger. This was trending on lists so that sold us. AMBIANCE: Parking: Plaza parking and street parking. It's busy depending on the day/occasion. Seating: Inside seating and outside patio seating. Great for groups or single peeps. Room for about 50+ people. Feels: It's close to the Santa Fe Plaza thus it's in a pretty nice area for tourist to walk around and windowshop. If you're there around golden hour, you can appreciate the sunset on the adobe bricks. The spot itself is your classic sports bar vibe. Great place to hang out and watch a game. FOOD: Green Chile Burger (Recommend) Deeeelicious. Quality beef with a savory and green chile kick. A pretty fulfilling bite balanced with the buns, greens, onions and cheese. Add some of their famous marshmallow sauce and you're in for a pleasant Burger Stand treat! CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! Quick and friendly. TL; DR OVERALL: 4 Stars. Excellent. For your classic American orders with a Santa Fe feel to it, this your spot. Great selections, reasonable price, and fun vibes. If you're visiting Santa Fe for a day, come through here! We stumbled into this place because the other two places we tried to go were closed. I got the falafel burger and it was so dry. It was under seasoned and over cooked. The house made Pickles were also bland. The gals taking orders seemed as lifeless as the food, I guess that's the aesthetic they are going for. I will not be coming back here. The only thing I even liked was the bottle cap art.

just had lunch here about an hour ago and was disappointed. the ambiance was sorely lacking with a dark interior and a patio that was set up with no thought for a guest experience... I.e., it was in disarray. i had the spices shiitake burger, which came with avocado and a 'spiced cream cheese', and a salad is my side. despite my scraping off as much of the cream cheese as possible because there was so much of it, the burger was spicy to the point of being inedible. the salad was also wilted making that a disappointment as well. with that said, my partner's meat based burger was to his satisfaction and he liked his fries.

Waited for an hour for our food. Watched other tables that came 20-30mins after us get their food. Kept being told we were next. Finally got a refund so we wouldn't miss our concert at lensic. Very very disappointing.

Two things. Place is over priced. Two burgers, one of the burgers double meat, order of fries, order of onion rings, a fountain soda and iced tea, with tip $60.00. The double green chile cheese burger was ordered well done the other medium well. The one that was supposed to be well done was at the very least medium done. The other burger was ok. For the place to charge so much for the burger, patties should have been freshly hand made. Patties were 5.3 oz (3-1 ratio) frozen purchased from their distributor. Onion rings were good, beer batter. The fries were middle grade at best. They should provide a better fry to charge what they charge. Iced tea was from a bag in a box not freshly brewed.

This is a great place to come and knock back a few local brews. The beers are varied and strong. Lots of local brews to sample here. What makes this place different is the "Beer Garden" this establishment has hidden way in their back alley. The garden is quiet and quaint. No loud blaring music for no reason. This is a place where you could come and have a few tasty beers and a nice conversation. The food menu is limited. Burger and tacos with a few appetizers. But that being said, the food that they serve is above average. For instance, the tacos have nice fruit salsa that really rounds out the flavor profile of the spicy meats. Give this place a shot, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Popped in for late lunch and boy were we surprised. Does not look like much - but the onion rings blew us away. Had to order more. So good, almost sweet, crispy batter covered sweet Vadalia onions that melted in our mouths. Perfection. Chicken sandwich was phenomal as well. Hamburgers were good as expected. So glad was stopped by. We ate out on the patio so had good atmostphere too. Must try. Do the onion rings.

When we walked in we were just setting our things down when the guy working the counter yelled at us that we had to come to the end of the counter to order. Bro. Let me get in the door first lol. Ordered shrimp skewers for an app and a couple of beers. Ordered off the draft list on the counter, was told they didn't have that beer, those lists were outdated, and to order off the wall menu. Why have the counter lists? Then heard the chef tell my server they didn't have enough skewers to fill my order. Got the order and it tasted weird, ate it anyway because I'd had a couple beers already. Felt absolutely horrible about three hours later. Bad service, prices, and food. Only place in Santa Fe we didn't like. Not worth your time in a city full of great food and wonderful service.

GREAT! The food was fantastic! I wish I could go back here again and again! We got take out during COVID times (May 2020) as we were stopping in Santa Fe during our cross country road trip. My parents and I got take out and then waited and ate in the town center square. Wow, what a perfect meal. We each had the Taos Caesar salad with different meats on top. I had the chicken, my dad had the burger and my step mom had the steak. We all said ours was the BEST. The meat was so flavorful! The service was so friendly, the portion sizes were large, and the food was hot and fresh. If you are in Santa Fe and need something to eat either take out or eat in, this place hits the spot.

My family and I went here on July 4 and the food was outstanding. The mango habanero wings were probably everyone's favorite, but everything we ordered was delicious. The only issue was the annoyed attitude from the bartender. But considering it was July 4, and she had to work while everyone else was enjoying themselves, we took it all in stride. We'll definitely be back here (and hopefully the server will be in a better mood when we do).

Don't get what all the rave reviews are about. The Kobe burger was swimming in sauce and kinda reminded me of a frozen Bubba burger. The bun was the best part of it. Truffle fries tasted like parmesan but not really Truffle and weren't crispy. The wings are at least crispy, but I was surprised the sauce comes on the side so they aren't tossed. The food did come out quick at least. Uncomfy seats and tables weren't clean. Was looking forward to trying this spot, but I wouldn't return

So I ordered to-go but changed my mind so forgive the picture. Typically it's served on a tray not a box! This smoke burger was delicious from first to last bite. Gouda cheese, spicy bbq sauce, bacon--damn good. Definitely spicier than expected which I love Also got the Parmesan truffle fries (not pictured) Fries are crispy and full of flavor. Personally I like them loaded with cheese--these are not, but every fry did have cheese on it so I'm not nitpicking--they are still great and there's a crap ton of them. The space is rather small but they have a patio that can easily fit plenty, so if it's busy just check the back for a seat. Great beer selection, a lot of local breweries of all varieties--even cider!

Indoor and outdoor seating with umbrellas to add shade. I got the Romesco Lentil veggie burger with green beans, toasted almonds, feta, and a red pepper sauce. The lentil patty itself had a nice crispy texture, however the flavor was bland so this is where the toppings come in. The green beans were pickled and had a great flavor as did the red pepper sauce. All of it combined together was delicious and it had a great taste. You want to order it how it comes if you take an element away not sure it would be as good. My husband got the Green Chile Cheese Burger and he said it was really good. You order inside then take a number for the order and they bring it to you if you sit outside. Overall I would go back again it was good.
