We had made a reservation so we didn’t have to wait for a table, which was nice. We were a party of 5 so they sat us in a room off the main dining area, which was empty but we enjoyed it being quieter than the main dining room. The food was delicious! Specifically, the lobster risotto and fish & chips were amazing. And our server was excellent, very attentive. Highly recommend this restaurant!

My friends and I made a reservation for the Tinsel bar on a Saturday at 4p. Online it says they have happy hour and we went hoping for that. When we were sat the server didn’t mention anything about happy hour nor was there anything indicating they had that. My husband asked if there were any drink or food specials and the server said no just the holiday drinks on the printed menu. We didn’t push it because we assumed either a) they didn’t have it on weekends or b) they didn’t honor during the holidays. After leaving we found out they do in fact have happy hour every day 4-5p. I reached out to them and someone apologized and offered us to come back and we could get an appetizer or round of drinks or them. If I knew my server blatantly lied to a table I would refund a portion. This was a special trip and turned into an extremely expensive one so we will not be returning nor would I recommend a place that is deceptive like this. I’m not sure what the happy hour is since the person who emailed me wouldn’t answer what exactly It includes. Regardless, it was highly disappointing. I gave one star for decorations.

We frequent the KRC restaurants and this was the last one that we hadn’t tried. To review this place is tricky because you want to be fair & understanding, but you sometimes have to be honest to call out the unacceptable. I’ll start there. The service was comical and non-existent. It made for a painful Fall dining experience. We left stunned, because the place had so much going for it. Adorable New England decor, with a very welcoming entry. Cozy fireplace, rustic warm and comfortable bar with many nice upscale touches. We were thinking that we were in for a good night. It proved that just a few key factors can ruin an experience and leave customers with a bad taste in their mouth. That said the food was very good. It’s a small place so it had a small menu. We liked every bite. The fish tacos were a tad dry which could have been fixed with an aioli or sauce. Not a big deal. Everything was clean around us and the plates were attractive. Their restaurant opens from 4 to 8, with 4 to 6 being happy hour w specials. There was never more than 6 people eating and 10 people in the place. The primary bartender was absentee 90% of the time, with 2 couples and a high top of 3 receiving no service or being greeted. People were asking us if someone was working. That made the lack of attentiveness a bigger deal. It would make sense to train the right people with a customer focused approach. If you need to scale things back to put emphasis on customer service, maybe redirect guests & off the street customers to your other restaurants. (Again the kitchen did a solid job) One staffing change could have made this experience incredible and enjoyable for us. It didn’t make sense to us because it was not busy. A swing and a miss for us. Oh well.

Dan

Google
The bartender working last night treated us with open disrespect from the moment we walked in. He spoke down to my wife and cousin, rushed us to order immediately, and made it clear we were not welcome. We were told we couldn’t stand where we were, then abruptly instructed to order a drink and move to another room, all with an attitude that felt intentionally hostile. This wasn’t a misunderstanding — it was deliberate and dismissive behavior toward paying guests. For an establishment that presents itself as upscale, this level of treatment is unacceptable. The try-hard outfit and forced “I’m funny” persona only highlighted how unserious and uncomfortable the interaction was. Hospitality was completely absent.

Google
We had a good time here! I’m posting very late - we went in shortly after the new year. I got a butternut squash soup, my mom got a prosciutto flatbread, my fiancé got a roasted chicken, and my dad got the American Smash Burger. Everything was delicious.

Google
Dirty wine glasses, our waiter never made eye contact or smiled. Food was VERY mediocre steak was frittata was hard and chewy sirloin, ordered medium rare and it was well done. Haddock sounded amazing, ended up being fish stick on instant mash potatoes. The stuffing was dry and tasted like it was three days old. Ordered another drink that never came. They weren’t even terribly busy. Looked like the kitchen saw pictures of good food and copied the drawing but definitely no clue on the taste. Was pretty disappointed as the look of the place was great. Would not recommend.

Google
Amazing historic inn and restaurant! The gnocchi was delicious and the spring decor was incredible! The deck has a beautiful view! Reservations are available on Open Table.

Google
Sat outside for a few cocktails July 4 afternoon! The bartender was absolutely lovely. Made us feel so welcome. We had just eaten but the menu looked delicious! Would definitely return for food and more drinks!

Yelp
Amazing food and drinks. Great menu options. Bartenders are so welcoming and friendly. Location is convenient.

Yelp
This restaurant / bar was very festive for the Christmas prelude, glad we had dinner here for the ambiance. Overall food and drinks were good, wished it was a little better but was an overall good experience. The service / staff very friendly as well.

Yelp
We had a good time here! Everything was decorated for Christmas - even the ceiling. I got a butternut squash soup, my mom got a prosciutto flatbread, my fiancé got a roasted chicken, and my dad got the American Smash Burger. Everything was delicious.

Yelp
It's a fun space, we liked the ivy covered decor, pleasant and comfortable. Good selection of draft beers, but wife's dirty martini was bad - she had one at each of our dinner places all week and this was far and away the worst martini of the trip. Started with the carb dip, the dip was ok, but the house chips that accompanied them were fabulous. I'm a sucker for house made chips, and these were top notch. Got the fish and chips. The fish was very fresh and tasty, and nicely crispy fried. The two large filets came on top of an enormous pile of fries. Barely made a small dent in the fries. Wife did the filet and liked it. It was probably least loved of the restaurants we went to in Kennebunkport. It was ok, and certainly convenient when staying at the inn, there are just a lot of really great options just steps away in town.

Yelp
On an August Sunday night when most other restaurants had hour-long waits we were delighted to walk into a mostly-empty Burleigh. As much as we locals appreciate an empty restaurant the Burleigh deserves more business. Fabulous bartender Stacy, excellent fried chicken bao and fish and chips. Only the Caesar salad was meh.

Yelp
Very poor experience. Were seated in 4 top at bar area even though reservations requested standard seating. Appetizer took over an hour. Were told entrees were being plated yet still took another 15 to arrive. Then when they finally came my wife's truffle Mac n cheese had lobster when she specifically sand no lobster due to seafood allergy. By the time the correct entree came out it took so long we had to get it to go. Really poor experience compared to other great Kennebunkport experiences. If you can't handle the capacity then don't accept reservations. Complete amateur hour.

Margaret B.

Yelp
Went here for an early dinner with my parents, we were quickly seated out on the patio and our orders were taken promptly. We got the charcuterie board to start which was delicious, and our main dishes were also delicious! (Caesar salad with steak, smash burger and fish and chips- all amazing) the patio was so cute and with the shade of the umbrellas it was the perfect spot! So glad we made the choice to pop in, will definitely be come back!

Tom F.

Yelp
My wife and I had this dish last night and it was amazing! The sauce was one that I wish I can replicate so I would eat more fish! The serious was great and for a Sunday night we were impressed with how attentive our wait person was.

Yelp
This restaurant is in the bottom of a cute Inn. I have never been there in the summer so I can't comment but this review is for the pop up bar, The Tinsel bar. The decorations are amazing and the bar/ restaurant is so cute. The service was fantastic and the food was amazing. I got the pork loin and it was very tender and juicy. My friend got the butternut squash soup and she said it was fantastic. I would come here just to get a drink and see the decorations!

Sydney B.

Yelp
Overall, an okay dinner and experience. Service wasn't super on top of it, I was missing my plate & silverware-and had to request it. Then we had to ask for the table bread, as well refills were not prompt. Dining room was cozy and beautiful, and my husband and I's food was an 8/10!

Yelp
Another great visit! I went right before closing (my fault for not looking at the hours) and despite my late arrival they were so friendly and welcoming! I had another delicious meal and cocktail, this time the scallops and a delicious salad. Everything perfect and the staff friendly and amazingly helpful.

Yelp
My husband and I came to visit KPT for our "mini-moon" and came here for dinner. We made our reservation on open table which was super helpful, and we were seated at a cozy spot across from the tinsel bar. The menu is simple and everything is done exceptionally well. The charcuterie board was great, but could use more toast. The scallops WERE INCREDIBLE. I had the short rib entree which was rich in flavor and a large portion. My husband got the stuffed haddock with the seafood ritz cracker stuffing which was delicious too. Although we were quite full, we ordered the crème brûlée and it was the best we've ever had!

Thomas S.

Yelp
Despite a glitch with the reservation system, the hostess went above and beyond to secure us a table (arguably the best one in the restaurant next to a beautiful Christmas tree and fireplace!) along with a free glass of champagne. Our meals (steak frites and the braised short rib) were unbelievable. From service to the atmosphere to the food, I cannot recommend The Burleigh enough.

Yelp
Stayed at the Kennebunkport inn , made reservations for dinner in the Ski Gondola. ( the bureigh ) staff is very friendly! Gondolas are adorable and comfy & heated! Ordered drinks and app, had crab and cheese dip with chips! I did mot care for this dip. Made our dinner selections of Pork Tenderloin and baked stuffed haddock. My tenderloin was good and filling, husbands Haddock was also good, then had creme brûlée to end our night... our waitress was friendly and nice and on-top of refills and making sure we had all we needed.

Yelp
Great service, we were the only one that night. Good food and looks very upscale. However nothing too special or memorable. Good for sit down, fine-ish dining with company.

Yelp
There are so many cute restaurants in Kennebunkport but we chose this one based on reviews and their menu. Any place with a kids menu is a plus. This restaurant is located in the Kennebunkport Inn and you can't park in the hotel parking spots as that's reserved for guests staying at the hotel only. It's a small restaurant and we sat in the area by the bar. The seats were comfortable. Bread and truffle butter - omg. You had me at butter and truffle. It was truly delicious. Kids hot dog - it came out burnt which was a bummer and we told the waitress if we can get another one bc my son will not eat a burnt hotdog, who would? The fries were delicious with the perfect amount of salt. Kids cheeseburger - ok. My daughter didn't finish it and I thought it was because of the sesame bun but it wasn't. She's just really picky with burgers. Clam chowder - good. Bacon, potatoes, celery and clams of course. I'm not a clam person but it was good. Lobster melt - sooo good. Highly recommend it. I love arugula and cheese and lobster on buttered bread! It was all gone. Catch of the day - tuna - a little too fishy :( presentation looked good. Overall the service was spot on - Tabitha was amazing, friendly and just so delightful! I hope you enjoy your stay. The gentlemen was very nice as well! Thanks!

Stina N.

Yelp
We sat at the Botanical Bar for happy hour and Stacy was the most lovely bartender! So friendly and made the BEST cocktails! I highly recommend the Fire Delight! We will be back tonight for the live music!

Claudia M.

Yelp
Wonderful! Ate here mid-week and had a delicious dinner with wonderful, warm service. Started the dinner with baked goat cheese, which was very good with cocktails. I had the special - mustard glazed salmon (outstanding!!) and husband had the stuffed Halibut (also outstanding!). Would go back in a heartbeat!

Yelp
Great ambience with a tasty menu. Our waiter was kind but low energy and seemed exhausted which was a bummer. The bar itself is super loud... dishes clacking, large ice bins being dumped constantly and blenders whirling so that part should be tightened up bc it interferes with the whole seaside relaxing fibe that they are encouraging. Still recommend the restaurant bc a great menu in a pretty location. The kitchen could turn out the food faster... a 30 minute wait for our non complicated dinner after the apps seemed excessive. The decor is high end nautical and very charming; but it needs a fresh cost of paint and the upholstery needs replacing or a deep clean.

Yelp
Absolutely exceptional. The lobster carbonara was on another level. The staff was so kind and the atmosphere was great. If you're coming through town, don't forget to make a pit stop.

Yelp
I just had one of the most wonderful nights this summer at the Burleigh! First, the outdoor seating is comfortable and well set up, with sparkling lights above and a view of the water (with a little bit of stretching). The waitstaff are all personable and really responsive, and the food is consistently great. We ordered: The steak carpacio- YES YES YES! The fried cauliflower app-Was wondering if I had made the wrong choice, as I had ordered the most excellent mussels in the past, but OOMG, the cauliflower was fantastic! It came with a peanut dipping sauce that I am still thinking about! The swordfish dinner-Super delicious In addition to all of this fantasticness, there was also a live Cabaret show!!! There are live shows at The Burleigh all summer on Friday and Saturday night outside (and on Sunday inside in the lounge). The night I was there, I had the most wonderful fortune to hear a singer named John Riddle, who was supremely talented and sang his heart out for all of us lucky enough to be dining that evening! If you are in town for the summer (or fall) (or for prelude in December), definitely check out the Burleigh! The summer/fall/prelude concerts are put on in tandem with the Burleigh (and the Kennebunkport Inn) and Club Cumming on the Coast. They have their own website listing who will be performing on future weekends. 100% follow up on this and book a table, you can thank me later!

Yelp
Food is always on point. The beef Wellington special was perfectly prepared. 4 stars is only due to the service being slow, the kitchen's fault. Waited over 30 minutes for our entrees. Caused us to be kicked out of our gondola (which you have for 90 minutes), to clear it for the next party. They did apologetically comp our desserts and a couple of beers which we ate in the lounge so, kudos for that.

Michelle S.

Yelp
We made a reservation for two, which we regrettably had to cancel. Per their website, this changed us $25 each--hefty but stated. However they charged us $100 (I can confirm the reservation was for only 2). We've tried to call multiple times to resolve but are hung up on by their phone system and unable to reach anyone. We'll have to take this up with our credit card company and the BBB. Beware if you have to cancel. They'll charge whatever they want!!!

Dennis C.

Yelp
This place is in the heart of Kennebunkport at the Inn and I've always thought of it as rather expensive. We stopped in for the piano music on Sunday night, which was really great, and had the best burger with fries for 17 dollars. They had other sandwiches in that price range also. There are more elegant dishes on the menu, which looked delicious as the waiter brought them out. Will definitely come back some Sunday for the burger and the music.

Yelp
We shared a lobster melt and cheeseburger. Both were excellent. Nice outdoor seating. Our puppy appreciated the dog-friendly service. Recommended!
google avatar

Yelp
We have walked by this place for years and tonight decided to stop for dinner. Very warm ambiance near the fireplace. Our food all came out very quickly. We enjoyed the crab dip appetizer and I got the baked haddock. Good flavor and presentation. I wish bread pudding was on the desert menu like I had seen. That was the one let down.
google avatar

Yelp
I just had my first meal at The Burleigh and I cannot overstate how much I enjoyed it. To start, the ambiance was very nice. It is one of the old style hotels in Kennebunkport and the dining area was very attractive, spacious and comfortable. The wait staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. As for the meal, I cannot overstate how much I enjoyed it. I had the seafood scampi and I truly think it may have been the best that I have had. There was more than enough shrimp, calamari, and mussels. The sauce was tremendous. I ate to my fill and could not have been more satisfied with it. I would recommend this dish to any seafood lover for sure. I hope to go back and would tell anyone in the Kennebunkport area to add the Burleigh to the top of your dining list.

Edina B.

Yelp
My group and I went on a Thursday evening because they were having a special. They offered a beer and a burger for $15. I had Allagash white beer. The burger was two patties, and it was served with a brioche grilled bun. It was absolutely divine. This is a winter special only and they do take reservations. The server was the bartender but she handled it smoothly. It's a small area for seating. Right now they have gondolas out on the patio. You can reserve one. They have a heater inside. Lots of overhanging lights and it's very pretty.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
The appetizers calamari and mussels were delicious as was the fish and chips for our main entree. Service was great and atmosphere was great as well as Christmas decorations.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
Great live music on a Thursday night. Place is packed with tourists and locals. We sat inside the red gondola and it's the cutest thing ever! Need to mention it was also very warm inside that I had to ask them to turn down the heater! Food is absolutely amazing we ordered the shrimp and lobster roll. All I can say is their lobster roll can probably fill 4 at Luke's if not more. Huge portion!!
google avatar

Kate M.

Yelp
The restaurant is in the Kennebunkport Inn. The setting is very nice and lot of outside seating, but no shade cover so not great until dusk as very hot. The wines by the glass are not great quality. For setting should upgrade. Not a big menu. Burger and mussels app very good. Solid clam chowder. Seafood scampi over pasta had great broth, pasta and mussels but shrimp had been frozen and calamari maybe too. Pass on this.
google avatar

Chelsea E.

Yelp
Such a fun cute place. Amazing staff and excellent drinks. The vibe is different than what you generally find in the area but in the best way. A new go to for us!

Tim M.

Yelp
Great drinks and cool ambience. Ordered the scallop app - legitimately came out with 3 dime sized scallops and it was something like $18.
google avatar

Ali B.

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday night and was relatively crowded - would recommend making a reservation. There was a live band on the deck area where they played for most of the evening. Seating is available on the deck, bar and dining room. Service was slower due to the amount of people in the restaurant but all the employees of the Burleigh were very kind. They checked in from time to time even when the restaurant turned crowded. The fried Brussel sprouts and Caesar salad were delicious - the dressing has hints of spice from the mustard seeds.
google avatar

Juan N.

Yelp
I was staying in the inn that the restaurant is built on. Food was fantastic and we came here based on a magazine that said that this place served lobster a mac n cheese but unfortunately it was taken off the menu as it was a winter dish. The ambiance is great for dinner as we sat near the fireplace and a door that led to the wooden patio. I ordered a their version of old fashion which had a candied bacon and a Lobster Risotto. My wife ordered a asparagus salad. I must say that the lobster risotto is amazing and definitely a must try if anyone visits this place. My Wife salad was good as she didn't want anything too heavy for the night. Drink was good and strong definitely a try if you're staying here.

Yelp
New Years Eve price fix $95 4 course meal. Booked as a package with our room, was suppose to be included in the prepaid all inclusive package. That ended uo not being the case, got a $325 dining bill, in addition to our room charge Dinner was average at best. The used the back dining room, usually used for the continental breakfast buffet. Very tight quarters. Lobster bisque was the high light of the dining experience, was delicious, after that pretty much down hill. Hangar steak was very fatty, tough. Chocolate cake dry. Winter green salad way to much blue cheese. Martini was good, but took forever to get. After dinner they had a band and champagne toast in the bar area. The bar was way overcrowded, impossible to get a drink. We booked 10am reservations New Years Day for brunch to depart prior to the 11 am check out time. Had to go to the front desk and tell them we were running late as it took forever to get our food. Our server was very professional and courteous, but obviously they were not prepared properly. Just not the experience you would expect and want for New Years :(

Grace K.

Yelp
We have been here several times, both inside and out. We like the drinks and the food. The arancini, pot pie, mussels, and chicken sandwich are our favorites. The kale salad had too much dressing for my taste. The bread, that comes with the mussels, though, does need to be toasted. The music both on the patio and inside are the real reasons we come here. Service is always pleasant. It is so nice that they have a Sunday Supper Menu in the non-season for the locals. This shows much caring on their part for some in the neighborhood who cannot afford their regular prices.

Phil S.

Yelp
Stacey is a top notch bartender who makes excellent cocktails and great conversation. The calamari appetizer was terrific.

Yelp
Three of us had brunch in June, a week or two after they began offering it. Menu was very basic, no creative or innovative offerings. Outdoor seating was very nice. Two ordered omelettes: one veggie, one ham and cheese, both were $14. When order came, omelettes were literally only thing on plate - no toast, no homefries, no sliced fruit, not even a garnish of any kind. Plate looked barren and incomplete. Friends asked about toast or english muffin, waiter said english muffin was available (no toast? at brunch? with egg dishes?). After they had finished their omelettes, the eng muffin arrived. They requested jam, waiter said they were "out of" jam? Seriously? You just began offering brunch, how can you be out of jam? They were charged an additional $3, so total came to $17 for basic omelette. I had the chicken salad sandwich. It was served with nicely seasoned, hot fries and sandwich was on very good homemade style bread. But chicken salad was bland and flavorless - just chicken, mayo and onions. It screamed for fresh herbs, dried cranberries, chopped apple, grapes, or almonds. We were all disappointed the food was so bland and unimaginative. Too bad since the outdoor patio spaces are lovely.
google avatar

Mary Elizabeth O.

Yelp
I would give it one star but the inn is absolutely charming and the food is good (not great, but good). In short, the service is beyond terrible! My husband and I had vouchers for brunch as part of our vacation package from our hotel and had no choice but to eat here for 3 days in a row. We won't do that again. I'm not sure if it's badly run or if the employees just don't care, or both, but we had a bad experience all around; from being waitlisted and then not telling us when our table is ready, to then waiting an hour for pancakes, a mimosa and an omelette to be arrived. This was just the first day. The second and third days involved a lot of sitting at the table and waiting to be waited on for at least 20 minutes. If management reads this, please know that this unacceptable and things really need to change, beginning with the top.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
This is the only meal we regret from our trip. The place is so cool. Service was really poor and you could tell the server was not trained at all. Apps came out after meal etc. took a half hour for drinks to arrive. Food was bland. Everything seemed dysfunctional. I'd give it another shot, but would give it some time much later in the season.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Great service, great drinks (and bud lights) and amazing food. Lobster potstickers ruled, mussels were amazing and the lobster melt was amazing. Will be back
google avatar

Moses P.

Yelp
The service was fantastic! We were promptly seated and attended to the whole night. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The outdoor patio is gorgeous as well. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre overall. Other than the parmesan wings and the free bread that comes out in the beginning the rest of our meal was bland. I ordered a classic burger- perfectly cooked and unseasoned. My wife ordered the chicken sandwich- perfectly cooked and unseasoned. My kids shared a grilled cheese- somehow the cheese was bland. Overall an underwhelming experience. If not for the fantastic service we'd give it 2 stars

Yelp
We arrived in Kennebunkport on a Sunday and decided to enjoy our first happy hour of the trip at the Burleigh located in the Kennebunkport Inn. The happy hour runs from 3-5PM and features $6 appetizers and house wine. On arrival we discovered there was entertainment at the outdoor patio, but we opted to avoid the crowd and summer heat by sitting inside at the very attractive bar that was almost entirely devoid of customers. My wife ordered Harken Chardonnay while I cast my vote in favor of the Sangre de Toro tempranillo, both of which were good. We requested an order of mussels off the happy hour menu, but were advised by our server that management had recently decided to discontinue serving both the mussels and the entire dinner service. Gabby, our server, was outgoing and very helpful. Given the early cutoff hour of happy hour and elimination of the mussel appetizer, I find little incentive for us to return.
google avatar

Bill G.

Yelp
Great lunch. I had the chicken Cesar salad, side of fries. My wife had the egg sandwich. All was very good. Drinks were good, they also had gluten free options for me (beer, but no bread or buns). Place and vibe was great. Service was okay, may have just been the server was awkward, but not bad. Will return.
google avatar

Andy M.

Yelp
The Burleigh was absolutely fantastic. The space was super nice inside where we ate and they had inflatable "igloos" set up on the patio where you could enjoy time outdoors even though it was the middle of February. We had the grilled shishito peppers for an appetizer and they were excellent. Well seasoned, well roasted, and just a touch spicy. For dinner we got the braised lamb shank special and the thai curry mussels. The lamb was very well done and the mussels were delicious. The portion of the mussels was a bit too large for one person, but overall the meal was incredible. We will definitely be back!

Lina N.

Yelp
The building is really nice and interior is cozy. It had that perfect "bar restaurant vibe". Moody, cozy, modern and vintage all at the same time. I got a lobster roll and it was the least impressive one I had during the trip. The lobster felt undercooked and the lettuce was just weird. The fries were good. I'd come here for drinks and an app, but wasn't impressed by the food.

Diane B.

Yelp
Everything at The Burleigh was wonderful . The food was not prepared as typically found in restaurants . Had the fettuccine with lobster - the sauce was delicious , lobster tender and served piping hot . The skate ,not something you often find on a menu was cooked to perfection . Eric our server was friendly , attentive (without being annoying!) and extremely knowledgeable . We were hoping to return before leaving the area - wish we had ! Best meal in KPT. Igloos on the hotel patio were available as well as a fire pit - great way to end your evening .

Yelp
We stayed at the Kennebunkport In so this place was super convenient. The setting was very relaxing and a gorgeous bar. We started out with the Brussels sprout and they were simply delicious! We also tried the chicken wontons which were good and the crispy potatoes I really liked. We both ordered the Maine Lobster Club which had a decent amount of lobster and not much else just like a lobster sandwich/roll should be. The fries, however, were just ok. They were clearly not fresh fried they were very dried out. So we mentioned it to the waitress and she put in anotehr order for us but by the time they came we were almost done our meals. The second batch however were much better.
