This was our first visit in several years, and it lived up to the font memories! Staff are helpful , food is innovative and plentiful, patrons are friendly, and the music is great! We were able to get a table with a short-notice reservation at 545pm, but they were booked solid for the night after 615. We saw the jazz band setting up at 715pm but left before they began jamming.

This is where the old Soutb on Main was. When we visited, it wasn't busy, but we were there for happy hour and dinner. It has a great atmosphere. There are tvs with all the important games on, the bartender was very nice and helpful. The food we had was really good. We started with the fried green beans. They were crunchy and had great flavor. We ordered the grilled shrimp skewer. It was flavorful and light. It is definitely a place to run into and have a drink and check out. They also have bands on weekends. I can't rate this because I haven't seen one there as of yet. Give it a try! SOMA district

High points were the service and drinks. Was very busy, but was seated within 5 minutes.
However, I did find everything I tried was very bland.
The gravy was not seasoned well, it tasted of just flour as did the biscuits.
The brisket hash was equally bland, mushy, was more like roast and taters. I expected a crispy hash not a Sunday pot roast! I needed some crispyness to break up all the mush but it wasn’t there. Also I thought for 15$ the portion was fairly small.
The shrimp and grits. The shrimp was cooked well and generously portioned. But the grits themselves weren’t great and lacked flavor.
I’d come back from drinks but I’d be leery of trying the brunch again.

Has a good time at South On Main! The food was pretty good, though the turn around time to receive that food left a bit to be desired….
Also, thoroughly enjoyed the live music!!! Could be the speakers, but the space didn’t feel large enough to contain the music. Or maybe just the volume was too loud….
All in all though, I give this spot a hearty recommend!!!

Delicious brunch. A lot of options to choose from. I had the quail and waffles. The quail was wrapped in bacon, it was savory and delicious. The quail was cooked beautifully and nice caramelization. The waffles were extra sweet. They had a sugar crystal crunch to them. The sweet aftertaste was not to my liking. My wife said the same thing. On the other hand the smoked brisket and it hearty and delicious. She swapped out the pouches egg for a fried. I wish it had more briskets. The mimosas were okay, nothing to brag about.
In all we will come again just not for the waffles lol.

Has a great menu that leaves you stumped at all the choices. I had the quail wrapped in bacon with waffles. With no regrets the food was delicious, although beware of the loud background from the musicians. Being with family it was difficult to communicate, that's expected when listening to a live performance. Southern hospitality is a great way to explain the wonderful service. All in all the place is a joy, highly recommended for a good experience.

This was our first time here and I must say even during a pandemic and short staff they did a fabulous job. Vibe was great we got to experience live music food was by far AMAZING! We did have a little mix up with our dessert order but the owner came and talked to us and gave us a reason to visit again but we understand the situation especially during a staff shortage but we will definitely be back!!

Great selections with a wide variety of vegetables. On the menu, they clearly label what's vegetarian or vegan or not. Sweet creamed grits (obvioisly not vegan) were amazing. Staff and other patrons wore masks. The waiter sat us socially distanced from other occupied tables.

Wanted to go someplace down the street but the wait was too long so we ended up at The Buskers. When we walked it, the restaurant was basically empty on a Friday evening. We were seated right away. The emptiness of the building should've been a warning sign.
The food was mediocre at best. I ordered the cheese fries as my meal - they came out 20 minutes after everyone else at the table received their food and were not great. Almost everyone at my table made a complaint related to their food. My friend who ordered shrimp and scallops skewers said the bed of rice they came on was dry and very overcooked. Someone at my table who received the chicken tacos mentioned they were subpar. Tacos come with a side of just dry out of the bag tortilla chips despite saying they come with a side of queso on the menu. When asked the server said, "oh no they come with salsa" which was not what on the menu and no salsa was provided.
Our server was nice but extremely slow and not the most knowledgeable. The restaurant was not very busy and I know the pacing of the kitchen is not the servers fault but we were rarely checked on and had to flag the server down.
I don't think I'll return. It's a shame because it is such a nice, big venue. I was looking forward to seeing what was in this space now as The Buskers is relatively new. However, with such mediocre food and service, I felt like I couldn't get out of there fast enough.
