The Buzz Cafe

I came in this morning (11/30) surprised that the cafe was even open, I would assume the cafe would be closed the morning after we had such horrible weather. The service was great and the coffee tasted good, my only concern is why was there only one worker running the entire cafe? If she wasn't a manager she definitely ran the place like one and most likely deserves more than whatever she is making right now.

I moved here in 2022. The Buzz was one of my favorite places to come to. Unfortunately I can no longer support this business, or any of the Grease and Honey restaurants after my boss informed me of the Mercier situation.. reading the Medium article deeply disturbed me. I hope they learned from that, but I cannot in good faith continue giving them money.

We had been looking forward to trying The Buzz for quite some time, and after a full day of great stops in Kenosha, we made this our last destination before heading home. Unfortunately, it ended on a disappointing note. When we first walked in (Saturday afternoon around 2 PM), I was excited to check it out, I often blog about coffee shops and highlight what makes them unique. I asked the barista where they sourced their beans from, and she responded that they came from Milwaukee and were made special for The Buzz. I thought that was really interesting, but she offered no further detail. If I worked somewhere with beans roasted exclusively for our shop, I’d be eager to share more about them, maybe even encourage customers to visit the roaster. I then asked her what their most popular drink was, because that’s what I wanted to try. Instead of answering, she simply pointed me to the specials board and their regular menu. While that’s helpful, it didn’t answer my actual question about their best-selling drink, the one customers rave about and keep coming back for. The biggest disappointment was the service. Rather than welcoming or enthusiastic, the barista came across as dismissive and uninterested. As someone who has worked in coffee before, I know the excitement of telling customers about a café’s signature drinks or unique features. Here, I felt unwelcome and brushed off. It’s a shame, because the shop itself has potential, but the lack of hospitality really soured the experience. Service and passion are just as important as the coffee, and sadly, The Buzz missed the mark for us.

Grew up going here, now live 30min away but every time I’m in Kenosha I try to stop. A cozy, hidden gem with great coffee and people :)

Another fine hole-in-the-wall in K-town that my wife & I recently tried for the first time and we were very pleased with this place. A different approach then your typical café and The Buzz Café is quite unique actually. They pretty much have a drink to suit every different mood and we love the cozy somewhat eclectic atmosphere. Venue is clean, staff provided exceptional service and the menu has some great choices including healthy options. Good coffee/ tea menu but the beer and especially wine list reigns supreme. An all around café that's an excellent stop in for coffee and a bite or a glass of wine/craft beer after work. Always try my best to support local-owned businesses and I'll gladly come back to this one and refer to other family, friends & co-workers.

The staff was very friendly and my drink turned out good. However the food took over 10 mins to wait for and my bagel was burnt. The bagel was so hard I didn’t bother finishing the sandwich. Our order was to go, I found the sandwich burnt after we got home.

Fruit flies were attacking me and my food! They were flying into my eyes and nose, it was really gross, I ordered the roasted beet and apple salad, with smoked salmon on the side. Most of the salad was Brussels sprouts- which were not mentioned in the ingredient list. The beets were cool and rather difficult to chew, so it was a disappointing meal. As soon as I stopped eating, my plate was over run with fruit flies.

Great coffee/bar. Coffee was very good and their pastries were delicious. Decoration was on spot. Several tables to do some work and enjoy your coffee. Staff was friendly but busy. Definitely will return.

The Buzz Cafe has quickly become one of my favorite spots whenever I'm in town for my internship! It's the perfect place to catch up with friends or do homework, but also a great place to stop by for a sweet treat! I recently tried the honey pistachio latte with oat milk and it was super good! They always have fun seasonal drink options and they also have plenty of sweet treats (including vegan choices!). They also have a breakfast and lunch menu as well! The baristas are always super welcoming and sweet! Parking is easy to find, even on the weekends, which is a plus! Highly recommend checking them out! :-)

Long mostly dark coffee shop that will serve in ceramic if you ask. Good cappuccino, served up hot, creamy, and promptly. Lots of different seating options, at the far ends of this long deep are bright sunny tables that might be good for reading. The middle is a bit like a narrow tall cavern passage, with bar seating (still order from the cashier station) for being by yourself or with one other, and there are also a few tables in the dim good for studying or work. Usually there's street parking in front.

I am disappointed I did not have the experience I expected here one morning. The addition of espresso did not work as suggested at the time of purchase in the seasonal Apple Cider drink. In my opinion the drink was unpleasant as it became too bitter. I absolutely love coffee and this was the first time I did not finish a drink. I am sure they would have been made another drink but I was skeptical to request it as the food I ordered came out burnt too. I would never serve a customer a burnt meal. What made it worse was the first bite of burnt bagel set the tone for my breakfast and the start of my day. I waited a while for the bagel but when requested to make it again I received it quickly. Not sure why it took a while for it to come out burnt initially when it came out right the second time and quicker. I personally would not recommend this cafe to others.

The Buzz Cafe has a really chill vibe and super helpful & friendly staff. The cafe is in an older building with exposed brick walls, solid wood floors, and a vintage tin tile ceiling. There's a decent amount of seating, but you can also get orders to go. There's lots of nearby street parking and the cafe is in easy walking distance to Kenosha's downtown shopping district. We really enjoyed our breakfast. A Bacon & Egg Bagel might sound pedestrian, but each ingredient was high quality. In other words, this isn't a boring breakfast sandwich at all. My fiancée ordered and loved the Cali Baja Wrap, which was lightly grilled and had a lovely crunch. We didn't try any of the marvelous looking baked goods because we were heading right to a nearby bookstore. Next time! The wine and beer selection is impressive and I'd love to come back later in the day for a beverage.

I will say I enjoy this coffee shop as a great place to get some work done. There is plenty of seating and different seating types as well. The barista was great and quick as I ordered a smoothie followed by some coffee. The protein banana smoothie was great as it gave me some much needed energy. I also think it is fairly priced. I will also say that I enjoyed their French toast latte as a specialty coffee and both were prepared quickly and with care. I highly recommend this place as a spot to check out if ever in Kenosha. They also serve alcohol and are open late which is nice.

The ambiance was alright and the staff was friendly, but I will not be returning here. For our drinks we ordered a hot americano and almond cookie latte. They both lacked a good coffee flavor and flavor in general, and the latte had so much cold whipped cream it cooled down the whole drink. We also ordered food- the stroganoff stacker and a side of mushroom leek soup. Again the items lacked flavor, the sandwich meat tasted of cat pate food while the soup was overly salty. These items tasted like they were heated right from frozen. I wish I had something more positive to say, but overall experience and quality was lacking.

This is probably my fourth visit to The Buzz Cafe, so clearly I enjoy it. I'm from out of state and learned about this spot from family and I'm glad I did. The last two visits, I've gotten some bakery items along with some mid-day caffeine recharge. The s'mores tart was my absolute FAVORITE. It had the perfect amount of graham cracker crust, chocolate, and tall amount of marshmallow. Complete YUMMMMM-OOOOO!!! I felt like I was around a camp fire and selfishly sad I had to share this s'mores tart (shhh!). Truthfully, probably one of the best s'mores related items 've ever had in my life. If there were more available to buy, I would have bought them. I was in town on Sunday and stopped in to get one and had no luck-- I was SO sad. The key lime pie bar was tasty as well. Graham cracker crust was thick and key lime was nice and tart. The cookies were not my favorite. Tasted overdone. The different coffee I've ordered various times has been good. I feel like service is fine. Nothing wrong, but nothing more than the regular. The Buzz is right in downtown Kenosha in a nice brick building. There are tables and bar area to sit at. Menu is fairly large with food and drink options.

Indulgent coffees and delicious food keeps bringing us back to this cozy, rustic eatery. Sandwiches are so fresh and tasty. Always consistent, pleasant service.

Always my go-to spot for working remotely when I visit family, this place is pretty quiet and has great service and plenty of seating. The drinks are just okay. I've never been blown away by their coffee. But it also isn't bad, either. It's just perfectly acceptable. If they made amazing lattes this would be a 5* spot, without question, because everything else is really great. For starters The Buzz has really great decor. There are plenty of places to sit, but it also manages to feel really open and welcoming. The staff here are super friendly and work really quick, so even if there's a line, you're never waiting for long. Outlets can be a little scarce on the high tops, but most spots you can find somewhere to charge your stuff if you need it. Prices are fair, and the menu is actually pretty big for a place like this. Plenty of food, pastries, coffee, tea, protein shakes, etc. They also have a bar, and coolers with a variety of drinks, and plenty of wine. They really do have it all! I'll definitely be back often. Even though I would not say the coffee is 5 stars, everything else is, so I'm going to round up here. Also there just aren't a ton of great alternatives in the area, so even if the coffee here isn't amazing... I don't really know where else to go for anything better.

Stopped in this morning for an iced latte and was charged an astounding $8.70 for my one latte. Wondering if the espresso is made from gold? I love to support local but my goodness.... Staff is always sweet and friendly though.

When the barista knows what a cortado is, it's going to be good. Served in a short glass, it's half espresso and half steamed (not foamed) milk. All the caffeine of a latte and a ton less calories and such. It's my favorite. This morning's cortado was that. A great coffee and served properly, I enjoyed it as "first coffee" and followed up with a drip coffee later. Yes, I was here at The Buzz for about three hours as my morning office. ordered a bagle waited 20 min and they never even made it. People after me got their orders. Ended up getting a refund because I needed to go to work.

Coffee is great - the bagel sandwich would be a lot better without the avocado aioli that is way too potent and strong. Also to note, they smash it in a panini press so the bagel is crusty and hard. I'd prefer a softer bagel. Parking is ok, but limited to the street and you may need to walk a couple blocks. Cafe is a little dark but furnished well, has table games etc which is a nice touch. The baristas know how to make excellent coffee drinks, and that's really the star of the show. I had a cold brew and I highly recommend this!

Waited 20 minutes for a bagel sandwich while 3 people sat behind the counter and talked. I asked what was taking so long and all they said was they were working on it. Great customer service

Based on the review, decided to try the Cafe. Ordered 2 sandwiches to go. Took 45 minutes to fill the order. Not much seating and most taken up with people on computers or friends in no hurry to leave so stood the whole time. Sandwiches were ok but not worth the time or money. Since I had plenty of time to kill, I noticed the baristas were quite proficient in filling the drink orders which seemed to make up most of their business. Perhaps they need to reconsider serving food or provide pagers so you don't have to stand next to the counter to hear your name.

We stopped by while visiting Kenosha to kill some time between plans. We ordered a nutella latte and cookies and cream latte, both iced, and they were fantastic! Didn't take long at all. We appreciated the self-serve water station and it was a nice looking space. There was some outdoor seating available on the sidewalk, so we got to enjoy our coffees and the lovely weather that day.

This place seems nice but unfortunately it was a terrible experience. Got sandwiches to go, waited 25 minutes for them to tell me that they didn't have my order. They corrected this by making the sandwiches quick, which was appreciated. Then when I started eating, I had ordered without cheese and they have put cheese on the sandwich. The order is supposed to come with chips that they didn't pack in. Would not recommend it here

One of the best wraps I've had. Would definitely like to try other items on their menu as they add some interesting salads and wraps.

Great spot! My husband and I came here twice during our trip to Kenosha. The first time we got the spicy boi and Baja cali wrap (I think it was called) both were so good, which made us come back the second time! Our last stop we got avo-thing bagel (this is perfect if you want a healthier breakfast) and the bronco wrap, these were so good also. Out of everything my favorite was the Baja Cali wrap, it was perfect for a late breakfast. Their coffee is good also. Next time we'll come to try the wine!

Good but a bit slow. Would go back if we were in the area! Friendly staff. Bacon and egg panini on everything bagel with avocado aioli was great! Lots of crispy bacon.

And amazing coffee shop in a local business. The coffee is sublime, and the prices seem to have gone down which helps the pocketbook. Check them out. It's amazing in next-door is wine and a restaurant I think?

Easy review here- grab your fixie! The best Coffee, Small Plate, Dine and Dash, Dine and Unwind on a Bike, Cocktail, Beer or Bottle of Wine with Charcuterie Board establishment within all the counties that touch Kenosha's - and maybe a few others too! Bayview locals would be well served by a trek to the Buzz Cafe...except they would never leave Bayview Attached to Sazzy B's too!

Our Bartender made this place great ! We will go back just for her ! Great selection of beer and wine cool dual connection to another bar I think ?

Went here for brunch on a Sunday after Frank's Diner was packed. It was definitely a good audible, however, I was disappointed to see that they stop serving the breakfast menu at 11:00am. This makes sense to me during the week, but on weekends I would have thought they would serve it longer. We still found some fun options on the lunch menu however. I ordered the roasted mushroom and cauliflower wrap and my friend ordered the lucky goat. We were both quite impressed with our food. The wrap was packed with mushrooms and cauliflower and the cauliflower wasn't super mushy. I would definitely order it again. The lucky goat sandwich was pretty good. The cucumber tomato salad was the highlight of it. The bread did get a little soggy, so it may have been better as a wrap.

Hip little coffee shop in Downtown Kenosha that also offers sandwiches, wraps, and smoothies. Menu looked decent, but we only ordered a Nutella Latte to go. Not much to say other than it was very good, one of the better lattes I've had. Fun cup, too. Having coffee outside is always expensive, but considering that, pricing seemed no higher than other places.

My daughter's choice for her traditional birthday breakfast. The food was great even though they were out of the main ingredient for "the Faconator," they made her a great tofu scramble with avocado, etc. I went with my meat craving for a "Cubano" breakfast sandwich. It was wonderful. Service was timely and cheerful and the coffee/tea drinks were unique and yummy. It's also a wine bar at night, so - next time!

there's nothing but positive things to say. i came here on a date with my fiancée while checking out the ice sculptures downtown and we don't regret it. we're both vegetarian and had a hard time finding somewhere with good food that we could eat, but both vegetarian lunch sandwiches at the buzz were delicious. they were out of cauliflower so our harvest sandwich didn't have any, but it didn't even taste like it was missing anything. and the vegan hoagie was so refreshing. we got specialty lattes, the peppermint sage and the hot honey and both were amazing. it wasn't overly sugary like a certain large chain coffee place and we could actually taste the flavors of the coffee. we got both the snowball and the raspberry donut cheesecake for pastries and as a huge fan of cheesecake, the raspberry donut cheesecake is actually as good, if not better, than any cheesecake factory cheesecake i've ever had. the cashier was friendly and i didn't feel rushed or pressured making any decisions. the store is also very clean and cozy, and i'm charging my phone as i write this so there are places to charge your phone! genuinely, i could go on and on about how lovely the buzz is. absolutely worth coming to if you're downtown. it is a little pricey but not the end of the world, especially if you're not looking to go all out like we did. and if i'm being totally honest, i'd still rather spend 60 dollars here again than 30-40 at the aforementioned large chain coffee place. the quality of the food, drinks, and desserts are worth it. we feel full and content and don't feel like we wasted our money at all.

First time in for a latte which was well done with great flavor. I also tried their vegetable quiche which was terrific. Nice, friendly staff as well. I will be back.

Stopped in for brunch today. I enjoyed it the visit and glad we tried it out! The place has a cool vibe and is very modernly aesthetic. We ordered the basic panini and the salmon wrap, and the honey cake iced latte. The basic panini was ok but was pretty 'basic'. It was just boring and needed a little something more. The salmon wrap was very flavorful and good. The honey cake latte was very good, it wasn't too sweet or too strong. The prices weren't too bad, about $10 each. The cashier was very nice. There were 2 outdoor tables for outdoor seating so it seems to be limited just a heads up.

A nice spot for a quick meal. They have a really large and varied selection of wine and beer, lots of coffee options, and sodas as well. The atmosphere is simultaneously family and instagram friendly. The lunch menu is pretty small; the breakfast menu overall was more appealing but we arrived too late to partake. Wraps and sandwiches overall were good: the mashed chickpea needed more seasoning, though (maybe pickle those red onions?). The menu said that the sandwiches came with caprese pasta salad, but we ended up with pesto pasta - and it was kind of dry. Overall, I'd put this on the pricey end for what you actually get at lunch but would be willing to try it again at breakfast.

Waited 40 minutes for food before they realized the ticket wasn't given to the cook. Instead of putting my order to be made next, they proceeded to cook for others that just arrived. After receiving my order an hour later, it was incorrect and burnt. No apologies were offered.

Fantastic food. The chicken Panini is my favorite. Loaded with meat and very filling.

Going two stars simply, because I didn't rate it when it WAS an ok spot. At one time the buzz was ahead of the movement in downtown Kenosha. They had a nice spot that I felt good and comfortable about going to, that has changed. I was just in there and I can say that I won't be going back anytime soon. The place is gross. The case with baked goods has a bunch of fruit flies in it. We sat a table up against the wall. The wall itself has got huge chunks missing out of it that no one cares to fix, they can't even be bothered to clean it as there are coffee spills all over the wall. The tables are super gross! The cracks in the table have years of debris built up in them! GROSS! How has nobody seen and cleaned it? Bits of food on the floor, who knows how long it's been there. $30 for two wraps in a gross, dirty environment? No thanks! Over priced for a server yourself type place that can't even clean. I Hope something changes, but I doubt it. I recommend that you avoid this place until they show that they care about the environment their customers are dining in.

I went to this cafe as it was highly recommended by the staff at The Nifty Thrifty Shop. I was not disappointed! It is fantastic! Good atmosphere, clean, and my Smoked Salmon Wrap was excellent! I sat at the bar and the staff was very welcoming and friendly and service was very good. I plan to go back!

Great place to congregate on Sunday mornings...shit I probably shouldn't have said that. I won't be able to get a table. Staff is friendly and helpful and the food is fantastic! I'm there almost every Sunday for a double espresso! Just stay away from Ron's Place!

Looks like our next regular hang. Good atmosphere and food. Coffee is great and they have a bar attached to it. One-stop-shop. Rustic decor adds to the coolness of the place.

stopped by for dinner on a busy night and was really impressed by the vegan/vegetarian options here! they were very knowledgeable on vegan and dairy free options, making sure to double check whether items were definitely dairy free. they also had a delicious soup of the day! the wait was a little on the longer side, but the food was delicious.

This is my new coffee spot! Love the coffee and the atmosphere! It does get busy at lunch but mornings are pretty calm and a great place to work!

2 words: horchata latte This place is exactly what Kenosha needed! From a killer menu of coffee drinks, sandwiches, & salads to their wine & craft beer selection this is like the best of both worlds. A great lunch spot and a chill place for a date or drinks after work. AND you can buy beer & wine to take home too! Cool modern decor in an old building with plenty of seating.. Really dig everything about it! Will definitely become a regular here in no time!

I always enjoy myself at Buzz Café. Whether I stop for a latte, a quick lunch or a nice glass of wine, it is always top notch! What a fun concept. This place covers all aspects. The room feels vintage and comfortable - which is the vibe they are going for I'm sure. The room offers more than you expect the farther back you walk. Service is always fantastic. The barista is always making suggestions when I'm not sure what I want to drink. The girl at the counter provided details on the sandwiches perfectly. Loved my Cubano! Parking is so easy in downtown Kenosha.

The food is extremely overpriced for what you get. it is quite mediocre in taste and appearance. One sandwich and one very small salad is what e had, can guarantee it will be our last. Subway has better sandwiches.

This is a great food with amazing staff and chef's They have curb side pickup for this hard time! Such kind fun people, great food!!

I was here for breakfast and it was fast and delicious. I got a Matcha tea and they made it iced for me. Delicious! I also got the Vegan Siesta Wrap. Omg so good. The Tofu tasted like scrambled eggs and it had such great flavor. This will replace Starbucks.

Terrible customer service. Not once did anyone behind the counter bother to acknowledge my presence. Why? Apparently having personal conversations trumps my business. Never will I come back, and will certainly not recommend this place whenever I can.

Husband goes here daily for his fix of Jasmine blue tea that he cannot find anywhere else. He often treats me with some of their completely delicious goodies. Very laid back atmosphere, good food and great treats. Great place to hang out in the summer when they have their outdoor seating too. Sandwiches are yummy for lunch!
