I recently had a wonderful stay at Byke Old Anchor Resort in Cavelossim, Goa. The resort exceeded my expectations with its vast open spaces and sprawling grounds. The rooms were incredibly spacious, making it perfect for a comfortable stay. The food at the resort was great, with a variety of options to choose from. What truly impressed me was the exceptional service provided by the staff, who were cordial and helpful throughout our stay. Special mention to Guest Relation Supervisor Trisha, who was knowledgeable and ensured that our stay was memorable. I would highly recommend Byke Old Anchor Resort to families, especially those with kids, as it's very kid-friendly. Considering its location and amenities, it's great value for money. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would definitely return.

We stubbles across this timeless hotel by accident - and how glad that we did! ||Hugged either side by estuary and beach, this resort begs the best location in Cavelossim! ||I must say that I was apprehensive on arrival of this value for money hotel, buts as soon as we arrived we were met by the exquisite service that ran throughout our experience. Somebody collected our luggage and we were kindly and beautifully checked in and our luggage was delivered to our room with love. ||The room itself was a gorgeous bedroom, sofa lounge and en-suite. It had all the essentials of a five star hotel and the service from the staff underpinned this excellence. For us from the UK the charm of this place still echoed the past but gave the modern service appreciated by today’s needs.||The staff - wow. Ashley in particular looked after us and he and the rest of the staff made us feel so special at all times. ||Spa, disco, pool, pool bar, laundry service, snooker room etc everything you need in this hotel guess . At £18 per night this was exceptional. ||We loved it so much that we booked a third night! ||Thank you to all the amazing staff! You are THE best!||It had Portuguese architecture coupled with the best service ever! We highly recommended this stunning hotel and we will be returning next year 100%

This hotel is placed at perfect location just 5 minutes walk from the beach entry. The external ambience is really good. Food quality is very good, one the best options for vegetarians in cavelosim. Staff is very nice and cooperative. This is good hotel to stay with family and kids. As the buliding is quite old, room's interior doesn't feel appealing, other wise rest hotel is really good for stay.

Giving one star only because there’s no option to give zero. Pathetic rooms and pathetic service. We were made to wait repeatedly — every 10 minutes they said “just 10 more minutes,” and this went on for almost an hour. After check-in, not a single staff member helped with our luggage. We had to carry two trolley bags and a backpack ourselves all the way to the top floor. To make things worse, there was a dead rat on the staircase. The room was completely untidy and smelling bad. No toiletries were provided. Food and breakfast were just okay — nothing great. Overall, a very disappointing and unpleasant stay. Absolutely not worth the money.

Rating: ⭐☆☆☆☆ (1/5) I am rating this resort one star primarily due to the poor hospitality and unprofessional behavior I experienced during my stay, which did not justify the price paid—despite the otherwise pleasant lake-view ambiance. Normally, I don’t take the time to write reviews, but my experience compelled me to do so for three key reasons. 1. Poor Reception Experience Upon arrival, I met the receptionist, Mr. Sunny Gupta, whose approach was extremely disappointing. My confirmed booking (through an online app) was not reflecting in their internal system. Instead of assisting politely or resolving the issue calmly, Mr. Gupta displayed unnecessary aggression and a lack of basic hospitality skills. His tone and attitude made me feel unwelcome, setting a very poor first impression. 2. Billing and Invoice Issues Two days later, I used their laundry service and received a handwritten receipt showing an 18% tax but without any GST number. When I requested a proper invoice, the staff and the laundry owner insisted the charges would be added to my main bill. However, at checkout, Mr. Gupta demanded payment first in a very aggressive manner and only later offered to provide the invoice. To avoid further conflict, I paid the amount—but this behavior was entirely unprofessional and unacceptable in the hospitality industry. 3. Maintenance Concerns There were several mosquitoes in the room, and I had to request mosquito repellent, which was only provided later. For the last two days of my stay, there were also honeybees near the door, which made it uncomfortable and unsafe to step outside. Overall, while the location and view were good, the lack of professionalism, poor customer service, and inadequate maintenance overshadowed everything else. I will not consider staying at this property again and would not recommend it to others until management takes serious steps to improve staff behavior and guest experience.

Travel date 9th October to 12th October 2025. The room was nothing like that shown in the pictures. We were allotted room number 320 on the first floor where the door locks were rusty and could break at any moment. The cupboard provided to us was even worse. Could easily see dirt and how fragile the bottom was. The curtains were dirty and could not even cover the entire windows.I strictly demanded for room change and I could see the reluctance from their side but they provided us with a standard room no 303 on the ground floor.When we were about to change the room, I asked the helper over there to carry the luggage because I was holding my child and backpacks and my wife had two bags with her but that guy flatly refused. After seeing the new room it was way worse than the previous room. The lock handle was already broken ...the flooring could break any time... The geyser didn't work.To celebrate our kid's birthday I bought a cake. After reaching the hotel by 9pm. We had our dinner and we decided to spend the next day at the resort to play with child at the resort kids arena . We went to our room by 10.30 and decided to celebrate our kid's birthday . The moment we entered the room there was a short Circuit in the AC socket and we could easily see minimal smoke coming out of the socket. I contacted the reception desk about the issue and they sent a guy after 30 mins and after checking the issue he said Please contact the reception to send another guy for changing the button and after 25 mins after calling reception twice the guy came and he changed the Ac Switch. Thereafter after 11.30 pm a continuous powercut started to happen and my child couldn't sleep and was continuously crying. We still managed to hold on for a night and slept after our child slept.We planned to take our child to the kids area where we can play with him. To our surprise we found the kids area under maintenance and there was no game we could play ourselves or play with kids. That was the last straw I went to the front desk and asked him about the issue which I faced last night and about the kids play area...he casually said The resort is very big so small small issues can happen anytime.I shouted at him they should have mentioned the maintenance work on their website but he said if we do this then nobody will come. I said to him,Don't expect a good review from me he said ," You can write whatever you want, Management is just busy making money ".I asked him to upgrade me because of all this issue and what he said to me shocked me ...he said you are throwing all these tantrums just to get a free upgrade. I really wanted to slap him but maintained my composure and he asked the staff to show me the room ...just after exiting the reception I asked the staff about why do you guys behave like this with the guest and he said don't say anything to me whatever problem you have sort out with the reception desk and left me in between without showing the room... Eventually I went back and he showed me the deluxe room which was again smelly and I decided to shift to another standard room. In the evening I went to a nearby beach where my child could play with sand and it was the only good memory we as a parent wanted to take with us from this trip.Next day I had to board a train by 8.30 am. So I pre booked my cab on 9th October on Goa Miles Taxi app at 7.15 am on 12th October for 600 INR. I got a call from Goa Miles customer care at 6.45 am that no cab was available nearby and I am on my own. I immediately rushed to the reception and they arranged the taxi in 2 mins for 1200 INR. I paid double to end my Goa nightmare . Even If I get paid to visit byke old anchor resort I would rather stay at home than coming back to this overhyped resort. Positives from Goa trip Could create beautiful memories on the beach with my family. The taxi driver who took us to sightseeing. The resort restaurant staff. Negatives from Goa trip. We had an awful experience at this hotel. The property is extremely old, and the rooms have a very strong, unpleasant smell. Even after requesting multiple times to clean the room, no one came. The flooring is damaged, the furniture is worn out, and the overall condition is terrible. The toilets were in a horrible state — dirty, stinking badly, and the jet spray wasn’t working. The amenities are just for namesake. The billiard/snooker room looks nice in photos, but the table is completely broken and unusable. Nothing is maintained properly here. We were so disappointed that we decided to check out the same night itself. We paid a good amount expecting a decent stay, but it was absolutely not worth it. The ambience is dull, dirty, and uncomfortable — you just don’t feel like staying even for a few hours. Definitely not recommended!

Good place to stay considering the price, and location. Beach is walkable. Rooms are little old and some rooms need renovations here and there. ACs are old but working for us. Staff was good and courteous.
