The Byron Bay General Store

Visited Byron Bay General Store around 12 PM and there were still plenty of tables to choose from. Not too crowded, which made it a really relaxing lunch spot. The food was delicious and beautifully presented! I also tried their mushroom latte and added a shot of coffee, it tasted superb! ☕🍄 It was my first time trying it, and it’s definitely something I’d order again. Great vibes, friendly service, and tasty food. Will absolutely come back again! 💛

Out of many spots in and around Byron we decided to dine here for breakfast . The staff friendly welcoming was a good start , coffee was near perfect and the two breakfasts hit the spot . I recommend trying this place , the parking can be hard to find but it's worth a try .

The breakfast is so delicious and fresh. The irony is that the food choice is so enticing that you are tempted (and actually) eat much more than you should. The açaí bowl is not too sweet and full of great fruit and seeds. The banana bread is to die for. There is some kind of vegan cupcake with a date frosting that is so good, it can’t possibly be healthy. But is seems it is. Overall, we highly recommend.

Food was good. However they don’t have normal scrambled eggs on the menu, is prepared already with goat cheese which I don’t eat goat cheese, bit disappointed that I can only order fried egg.

Our go-to breakfast spot. The vibe is super chill – wooden décor, surf prints, and that laid-back Byron feel. A fresh muffin and a hot cappuccino here just hit different in the morning 🧚

The Gennies the best! Has been for years. Best staff, best food, beat coffee, best vibe. It has it all, AND, now they’re one of the only places in Byron doing no seed oils 🙅‍♂️ Highly Recommended 👌

I was walking to Tallow Beach when I came across this lovely café. I met some friendly people and had a nice little chat. The coffee was great! I love coffee and really enjoy visiting cafés with a warm, welcoming atmosphere like this one.

Love this place when we come to Byron. I think they’re the only place that have vegan waffles and they’re so good! Husband had bacon and egg roll which he said was really good too. Coffee was great and smooth, they use Marvell street coffee. Mushroom elixir drink was yummy too. I also got their vegan carrot cake from the cabinet which was amazing and also had a banana choc vegan muffin which was amazing too. The day before I had a mushroom burger takeaway for lunch and was so good too. Highly recommend!

Coffee snobs may want to journey to this slightly out of town surfers cafe because the coffee is consistently excellent. Overall, the food is impressive too; possibly the best acacia bowl I've ever had. Quality for price won't disappoint. Although lots of seating, mostly outside, this place can be jammed. They encourage you to find a seat and then order at the counter, which is nice but odd. Most of the seating is low so it's not ideal for most aging adults. My issues here are that some of the cushions are way overdue a cleaning and it's often very noisy, which isn't how I like to savor my morning cup of coffee.

Use to be one of my favourite destinations for a great hamburger......back we all went. And to our utter dismay the hamburgers have gone...now just veggie ones! Not nearly as good.......this the universal view from all four of us. I have crossed this joint off my preferred destinations and referral list. More disappointing is the web site did not make this change clear...

Awesome spot out of the hustle and bustle of Byron. As well as serving food made with local, organic ingredients they also sell a great range of Byron Bay produce. The menu is great - loved the vegan waffles. There is also a good seating choice with indoor and outdoor options and bean bags to doze off in. Definitely a must-try when in Byron.

Such a cute spot, inside and out! If you love a great burger, you gotta try theirs. I had it bunless, knife and fork style, and it was delicious...great toppings!!!

Great selection of veggie and vegan food, smoothies and bowls. Open earlier than a lot of places in town - great for that pre or post surf coffee! Really lovely bright and airy space and absolutely lovely staff. Totally recommended

The vibes and environment of the cafe was amazing! I got a smoothie bowl and a coffee and both were delicious! It is quite expensive but definitely worth it.

If you've just arrived in Australia, are suffering from jet lag, and wake up insanely early every day, you can head up to the lighthouse to watch the sun rise, then head down here at 6:30 (they start serving food at 7). Food is reasonably priced, coffee is very good and complex, with the faintest (and very pleasant) hint of licorice flavor. That's actually good, yes. They also serve pastries from Three Blue Ducks if you don't want to schlep 20 minutes for them, but beware: these might not arrive until 7:30. Also, there's a self-contained children's play space, which is incredibly valuable under the aforementioned circumstances.

Great coffee!!! Pies are A-mazing!!! So tasty and huge. Please keep stocking these, I've never had a take away pie so good Aussie burger ("the lot") will fill you up after surfing. I'm told they are great but didn't get a bite Working my way through the smoothies and good so far, Pitaya fav. Bowls look beautiful served in coconut shells Croissants & pain au chocolat sell out too fast and if you get to try one you'll understand why. Little raw and vegan treats are delicious Vegan, vegetarians and meat lovers all served here. Kombucha on tap. The "general store" part has Sourdough bread, buns & baguette on sale, mueslis, dairy fridge, drinks fridge, sauerkraut and several other goodies including keep-cups & bottles
