The Cabins at Alert Bay

Wonderful stay! Our 2-bedroom cabin was spotless — clean beds, fresh bedding, and a well-equipped kitchen. The setting is beautiful with plenty of nearby trails, and the place is peaceful and quiet. The staff and owner were very attentive. We’ll definitely come again!

What a find! Cute little cabins. They could use a bit of an upgrade but they have everything you need and were nice and clean and very quiet at night. They have most of the essentials, just missing towels. The view was gorgeous and has some walking trails right down the road. No direct beach or water access as the road is privately owned by other residents. We stayed one night at the beginning of July and most (if not all) of the cabins were full. Pet friendly but only in certain cabins so you need to let them know in advance.

We arrived to find out that our reservation was cancelled. It was a computer glitch, confusing and not worth getting into, but the team made our stay great. We had to change rooms for a two night stay but it was barely an inconvenience. They made it right. The rooms are great, the grounds are pretty. I wish there was more beach access but that is minor. I will be back for more than two nights, the silence, the clean air, the kind people of the island, good for the soul. Bring food not may eating options on the island.

We made a pit stop to Alert Bay and were surprised to find availability here. They’re just basic cabins but very clean and updated with everything you need - except food of course. And dog-friendly too. Ask for dog towels to keep your cabin clean. So quiet and an ever-changing view.

These are great clean, quiet accommodations. The staff are friendly and gave us helpful suggestions about the island. It is located on a hill providing a beautiful view of the ocean.|Two of us were travelling with a family of four, they had a double cabin we had a single cabin. For the minimal cost difference I would recommend a double cabin regardless if it's just two people. More space, better view of the ocean and a picnic table outside which we used daily. Although our single cabin had a window of a forest in the back. There are fully equipped kitchens which are needed as restaurants are limited on the island.

Very clean and comfortable cabins with an ocean view from the front and a meadow view with trees out the bedroom windows. It was so quiet and peaceful! We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen to make our meals and we enjoyed sitting on the front porch after dinner to have a tea. The U'Mista Cultural Centre is very interesting, and we hiked many of the trails on the island. I would highly recommend these cabins!

We loved staying here. The service was excellent, rooms were very cozy and had everything we needed to cook and feel right at home. Highly recommended, we’ll be back.

A clean, convenient and magical place. The cabins are a perfect base camp with a view. Enjoy the sounds of whales, birds and the stillness of nature. Star gazers won't be disappointed. Enjoy your breakfast at the pavilion while whales snack below. What a fantastic find!
