The Calmtree Bungalows

We stayed at The Calm Tree Bungalows for 2 nights as a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids) in Family bungalow. The location is great — very close to shops and restaurants, so it’s convenient for exploring the area. The pool was lovely with warm water, which we all enjoyed. Breakfast was just okay — nothing special but fine for a short stay. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, and the cleaning service was decent as well. However, the interior of the bungalow was quite dark. There are no real windows, just shutters, so you have to choose between keeping them open (and letting mosquitoes in) or closing them and having very little light. For a couple of nights it was manageable, but for a longer stay it would feel too gloomy. Upstairs had two single beds for the kids, but our girls didn’t feel comfortable sleeping up there because it was so dark, so we all ended up sleeping downstairs. The toilet was okay — nothing to complain about. Overall, it’s a good place for a short stay if you value location and friendly service, but I wouldn’t choose it for a longer holiday due to the dark interior and limited natural light.

We had a great week in one of the private villas. So nice having a small pool to plunge into at any time. The rooms were very comfortable, and the breakfasts excellent. The on site restaurant was great and very convenient. Appreciated the water refills. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The only negative for us was the noise. Especially where the private villas are located, you will hear music from the nearby bazaar and club. This is less noticeable inside but unfortunately a menace when trying to relax in the well appointed and otherwise comfortable outdoor living space. I realize this is outside the control of Calmtree, but it is a factor to be aware of when staying there. The music does seem to quiet down in the evening (except one night when a live band was playing). To be honest, despite this, we had a fantastic time and would definitely return.

Stayed for two nights, definitely value for money. If you want something cozy and quiet in Canggu, this is the place. Very clean and the stuff always helpful. Staying in a luxury bungalow is a lot of fun and adds to the vibe.

I booked the pool villa instead a bungalow, and it was fantastic. It was very spacious, and the outdoor area with the pool and sun loungers was excellent. The staff were also very friendly. Absolutely recommendable.

We stayed for a couple of days in one of the bungalows in Canggu and had an amazing time. The bamboo bungalow had a unique charm and a special atmosphere, with an original outdoor bathroom that added to the experience. The staff were very kind, and the pool was great too. The location is also perfect—close to everything. Highly recommended!

Had an amazing stay there! The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a villa with a private pool which was perfect. The main pool was really nice as well. Really enjoyed the breakfast and the variety of juices. The location was great, it’s hidden away just right off the main street of Canggu so you can easily walk to all the shops/restaurants, beach and the beach clubs. Despite being close to the town it was very quiet and the only noise we heard at night was a tokay gecko 😅

The Calmtree Bungalows is strategically located near the beach and Love Anchor Market. It is a small and quiet area tucked away in the corner of a street. The owner is a down-to-earth person who is helpful and patient in handling our questions and requests. We had a peaceful stay at the hotel, thanks to the owner and staff. Kettle, toothpaste and toothbrushes can be provided. Overall, a clean and comfortable accommodation worth mentioning.

Construction noises which were not mentioned on Booking. Also, the breakfast quality was not great. In general the hotel is good if it wasn’t for the construction.
