The Capon Tree Town House

Can’t fault this place. Booked it at the last minute. Very tastefully decorated and the room had everything you would need. Had a fantastic 3 course meal which was delicious. Caitlin and Alastair were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay here again.

Both Alisdair and Caitlyn, were amazing, they made me feel so comfortable and that I belonged there from the word go! The food was amazing I had the whiskey chicken liver pate to start, the homemade chutney really complimented the pate, then the chargrilled beef skirt, which was so tender and had the smokiness from the grilling, and the sauce was amazing, I then had the panna cotta dessert which again was faultless with the perfect wooble! And all 3 courses for £15 an absolutely bargain along with the company and the overall experience 5 is not enough it should be 10!!!!!

Really nice dinner. Didn't know about this place when we arrived in Jedburgh but after going in, absolutely loved it. Really good food, great service and staff. Really recommend

We have visit this restaurant for a dinner. Only a tasting “ Triple tasting “ menu, available which looked to be fine but was actually a disappointment. Buffalo Mozzarella with tomato and rocket. No buffalo mozzarella but just regularly mozzarella ( tiny slices) and only a couple of rocket. 🤨 Inside Skirt with pepper sauce and frites. The meat was tasteful but the frites were almost raw. 🤨 . I got a new portion but for me it was already enough. After this I skipped the desert which was a good choice as my wife had a panna cotta with pina colada en fruit. The panna cotta was cut in pieces which some fruit. 😓 and no taste of pina colada. Her starter was Scottish Salmon which was tasteless. 🥵 Her main “Chicken Cancun was okayish, but overall we would not recommend this restaurant.

Excellent small hotel with friendly staff. Beautifully renovated, lovely place located in town with Parking. We booked in advance as we were travelling back to England from the Scottish borders and very happy that we chose this accommodation. We were given the Oak room with a balcony (great view) and it was clean, freshly renovated, had everything we needed including a continental breakfast. We enjoyed the downstairs Bar and Restaurant which was very convenient after travelling all day. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious, we just ordered a quick simple dinner of burgers and chicken which was excellent - home made and full of flavour, loved the homemade sauce!. We had the pleasure of meeting Alister, the owner and chef and he's truly a great person - thanks for the amazing hospitality to all staff. Cheers from Australia - Paul and Allyson.

Had an excellent meal at The Capon Tree last night. Food was so tasty, all three courses. Staff were lovely & friendly. Can highly recommend
