This place is a gem! If you like your hotels big and modern this place is not for you but if you like small, charming and personal it IS for you. Located just off Egnatia Street, one of the main drags in Thessaloniki, The Caravan is walking distance from the water front and many of the points of interest. My room was one of the smaller but big enough for a queen size bed with adequate room to spare, and the 14ft ceilings certainly created a sense of space. Built as an inn in the early 1920s it maintains that feel of old world charm. There is a small elevator for 2 or you can use the magnificent marble staircase to get to your room. The reception is also a coffee bar, locals hang out there working remotely, it also doubles as a breakfast room. There is a personal touch to their service. I had a problem with a tour I had booked and decided I would rent a car and drive myself , within minutes they had called for me and arranged it with a local renter. I would go to Thessaloniki again just so I could stay at the Caravan.

This a great hotel for a leisure visit to Thessaloniki. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The rooms were quiet. The neighbourhood interesting though a 15 minute walk away from the seaside where many tourists might prefer to stay. We loved being more in the city and away from the crush. The staff was very accommodating and the location good for a tour of the city. The hotel is geared for the leisure traveller rather the a business traveller - the pace is slow and the hotel is a little funky - which is easy to appreciate on vacation, less so as a business traveller. The staff will help tourist travellers find their way around the city with recommendations for how to visit sites and for restaurants. We took advantage of the pillow menu and enjoyed the breakfast.

Premium location in the city center and in front of the new metro station. All Thessaloniki has to offer is within walking distance. The staff here is sooooo nice, accommodating and very well informed about the city vibes. The famous caravan brunch is the best way to kick off the day! Thank you team for the nice experience

We have had a wonderful stay here. Almost perfect. Staff could not be more lovely and attentive. Room was excellent with everything we needed ( we had an executive room) Breakfast included in the price of the room was very good and plentiful. Spotlessly clean.|Downside - so very noisy outside at night, directly beneath us - average time 4am and this included Sunday! Friday and Saturday were dreadful.I know this is something hotel staff have no control over. So, no blame apportioned.|Overall, fabulous place.

A special place to stay in the city of Thessaloniki. Thank you to the exceptional staff for the care and attention that we received. The availability of great food and coffee was also much appreciated.|The room with balcony space on the top floor is also worth the option. |Thank you, Brian and Trish

I had to have a medical procedure in Thessaloniki and my husband and I didn’t know the exact dates until seeing the doctor one last time on the day of arrival to the city. We booked a room only about an hour before checking in and requested a quiet room so I could rest. We knew last minute requests are difficult and not guaranteed, but The Caravan team made sure to give us a very quiet room facing the back and I’m pretty sure they tried to avoid putting anyone next to us for extra peace and quiet, which we highly appreciated. They also made the bed softer since I couldn’t sleep on my back or stomach as easily as I would normally. The room was so cute and very clean. After the procedure they were kind enough to bring me brunch to the room. They also froze our ice packs in their freezer for our medicine, asked how I was doing when they saw us, and were overall just so incredibly nice and accommodating for all our requests during a very stressful time. Also, the breakfast is amazing and totally worth it! They have different breads and sweet cakes each day and bring you a whole spread. You can order eggs, salads, pancake of the day, etc.; everything was fresh and tasty. The hotel also has a collaboration with the garage right in front of it (Parking Karavan Sarai) for a reduced rate as a hotel guest that is very easy to access. The location is fantastic too. Endless restaurants and tavernas to choose from within 5-10 minutes walk. We are so grateful for their kindness and would give them ten+ stars if possible! Thank you so much!

cold place, “eclectic” , meaning the chairs are uncomfortable and uneven. the decoration is all over the place without any coherent purpose. and while the service people are nice , they keep forgetting things. this resulted in half an hour waiting time while watching the other tables being served. i had to remind them of the order. not really impressed with the croque madame when it finally arrived.

Beautiful building, bohemian atmosphere with eclectic cafe lobby and lots of friendly and accommodating staff helpful in all ways. Rooms quite comfortable. Lovely coffee and breakfasts in the am with excellent brunch options. Steps from the metro.
