Food: 4. Service:4.5 Beer is my favorite! The carbon bar larger and lite are both good. Fresh and light. Spanish octopus was good, eggplant was more outstanding than the octopus. Sausages kinda complement the dish so overall a good choice. Beef brisket was good. Not significantly better than the other smoked meat places in town but sort of meet my expectation. Sea bream was disappointed. Fish itself was plain the sauce was exaggerating making the dish not that balanced. Vibes were nice and staff were welcoming.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while I was in the area and was pleasantly surprised. The food tasted delicious especially the salad and the shrimp. We had the BBQ platter and the ribs were great (fall off the bone). The brisket was tender and juicy as well. The only thing that I did not like was the KFC (Korean fried chicken). Maybe it was the way it was deep fried - although it was crispy on the outside - the inside was not juicy and it ended up being too dry and hard to eat. Overall, it was a good place and our server was friendly and the service was great.

This is a nice place. The interior is very quirky but in a good way. Looks very rustic. It's a bit loud but you can still hold a conversation. We had a reservation and got seated immediately. The service was a bit slow but the food was good and tasty. The portions were also very decent. Would definitely recommend.

As a vegetarian, I found the menu a bit limited in options, but I really enjoyed the fries and mac and cheese, both were absolutely delicious! The atmosphere had great vibes, making it a lovely spot to relax and chat with friends. My friends tried the BBQ chicken and really liked it too. Overall, a great experience!

Google
Dining at The Carbon Bar, located at 99 Queen East in Downtown Toronto, is a truly exceptional barbecue experience. We ordered the following dishes for our group of four: - Grilled garlic butter shrimp ($26) - Korean fried cauliflower ($15) - Burnt ends kimchi Ssam ($27) - 2x Pitmaster platter ($52 each) - St. Louis Cut Pork Ribs - CAB Beef Brisket - Buttermilk Fried Chicken - Cheddar Jalapeno Sausage - Pulled Pork Every dish was expertly prepared, and the portions were generous. It's challenging to pick a favorite. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere was sophisticated and stylish. They also boast an impressive selection of premium liquors and craft cocktails. If you're seeking a new destination to impress someone special or entertain friends, The Carbon Bar is absolutely worth considering.

I recently visited Carbon with a group of friends and had a generally pleasant experience. We tried a few dishes, including the KFC-style fried cauliflower and the sea bream. The food was well-prepared and flavorful, and we particularly enjoyed the creativity behind the cauliflower dish. However, we found the portion sizes to be quite small, especially considering the price point. What truly stood out was the ambience — the setting was stylish and thoughtfully designed, creating a relaxed yet upscale vibe that added to the overall experience. While the value for money could have been better in terms of quantity, the quality of the food and the atmosphere made it a decent outing overall.

My husband and I decided to try Carbon Bar for the first time, and boy were we impressed. The food was wonderful and the cocktails were delicious! We did the tasting menu and loved the selection and variety. The service was great, quick, polite and attentive without being too much. We will definitely be visiting again!

Food: 3 Stars Service: 4 Stars Ambience: 4 Stars Value: 3 Stars Overall: 3.5 Stars My friend and I stumbled upon The Carbon Bar by accident while searching for a place to eat, and the atmosphere instantly pulled us in. It was our first time here, and after walking around looking for a good dining spot, this place caught our attention with its stylish yet inviting vibe. The dim lighting, sleek décor, and lively yet not overwhelming ambiance made it feel like a great place to unwind and enjoy a meal. From the moment we sat down, our server was welcoming and attentive. They took the time to go over the menu and recommended the burgers, mentioning that they were a popular choice. Taking their advice, I went with the Bison Burger, while my friend opted for the Carbon Burger. When the food arrived, the portion sizes were quite generous. The burgers looked incredible, and from the first bite, I could tell that they were made with high-quality ingredients. My Bison Burger was juicy, well-seasoned, and had a nice depth of flavour, while my friend also raved about the Carbon Burger. The buns were fresh and soft, complementing the patties perfectly. Unfortunately, the fries were a disappointment. They had a distinct old-oil taste that was hard to ignore, making them almost inedible. It was a bit of a letdown, especially considering the price point. While the burger itself was worth it, I would have expected the entire meal to be equally enjoyable. Another thing we noticed was the crowd. Since we went on a weekday, the restaurant had a more business-like, older clientele. It wasn’t overly loud or chaotic, which made for a relaxed dining experience. I can imagine it gets busier and more energetic on weekends. Overall, The Carbon Bar has a lot going for it—great atmosphere, friendly service, and fantastic burgers. However, the fries definitely need improvement, and considering the price, I would have liked everything on the plate to be enjoyable. That being said, I’d still come back, but next time, I might skip the fries and stick to what they do best: burgers. xx kellychan360

Yelp
We keep coming back for happy hour just about every Thursday so you know this place is good. A quick 5 minute walk from the Queen Station on line 1 and Happy Hour until 7 pm means I come here pretty often. Service is great and their black mamba margarita is my go to. Two of my coworkers walked over with me at 530 and we had 2 margaritas each before happy hour ended at 6 pm. Ambiance is great with low lights and music playing low in the background. Seating is comfortable with a mix of table and booth seats. We don't normally have a reservation but haven't had any issues being accommodated so far. This is a high end fancy bbq joint but we have only once had the experience menu which runs $85 dollars per person and includes a full tasting menu of snacks, appetizers, pit master platter and dessert. We normally do drinks off the happy hour menu and order the pork belly baos which are divine. We also order Brussels sprouts to make sure we get our veggies in.

Yelp
This is a place to eat and drink the night away. Shared the pitmaster platter, a bunch of sides and the smores for dessert. Standouts were the fried chicken (really tasty, juicy inside, not greasy), cornbread (great balance of being moist and chewy) and smores (indulgently hefty). If I had a bone to pick, would have liked the brisket and ribs to be a tad bit more tender. Service was quick and helpful. Space was great for groups. Vibe was lively yet conversation-friendly. This is a good spot to meet up with friends.

Yelp
Upscale BBQ at its best! I was very impressed with my recent visit to The Carbon Bar for classic smokehouse BBQ and cocktails! The BBQ lineup is quite extensive with classics such as Beef Brisket, Sausage and Ribs! The brisket is nice and tender and you do not need a knife to cut through the beef brisket. The fried chicken is nice and crispy with the chicken still remaining its moistness. The cocktail lineup is impressive with many classics that pairs well with bbq! I can't wait for my next visit!

Yelp
Great ambiance and friendly staff. Can't complain there. Excellent Bao buns for starter. Good size but maybe the pork wasn't as juicy as I was hoping like in Chinese restaurants. It was baked/smoked for too long and maybe not the fattiest cut of meat. Burger was decent. Fries were really tough...triple fried possibly but over done in my opinion. Decent enough - may be will try the platter next time

Yelp
Visited on a Friday night, and overall, we enjoyed this restaurant. It wasn't packed but also wasn't super busy. We started off with drinks. I got the Lavander Pisco sour, and my daughter got the Blackberry Margarita. Both were tasty and delicious. I ordered the Piri Piri Chicken, and my daughter got the Burger. The chicken was super tender and had a great flavor. The sauce that came with the chicken was spicy but had just the right amount of spice. The broccoli was delicious, and so were the potatoes. I really enjoyed my dish, and the portion size was just enough. My daughter lived her burger, and it was super juicy and also had lots of flavor. We opted for desert, and it was almost like a pecan pie with a side of cream. It was also delicious. We lived the ambiance of the resteraunt, and our server was amazing. We were glad we stopped here and had an amazing dinner.

Yelp
*Drinks review only* Stopped in at around 5:30 on a Saturday to grab a quick drink before dinner. It looks like a pretty hip place. Once you walk in, they have sound boards nailed on the wall. We sat by the bar but the rest of the dining area looked pretty spacious. For drinks, I had the Texas Tea (Michter's bourbon, ginger liqueur, eucalyptus apricot and mint honey lemon juice). It was nice and refreshing. There were a few others that sounded pretty good but we had to get to a dinner resso. It's definitely a unique cocktail menu though and I appreciate that they have more than your typical old fashioned and mojitos.

Yelp
The Texas BBQ will have you feeling full for days. I'm still full as I write this review. The meat is BBQ'd to perfection. Juicy, packed with flavour, absolutely delectable. As full and lethargic as it might have made me feel post meal, I'm still craving the leftovers. The cocktails, the selection of bourbon, and the sides all compliment the platter really well. We took the burden of decisions off our hands and selected "the experience", which is a curated meal. A couple of starters, a seafood item, salad, then the platter (which you can get on its own), and dessert for the finish. The pie, which I wish I could remember the name of, was decadent and I could eat a whole bowl of that. Even after eating all that heavy heavy meat. So, go hear hungry and don't plan to go out dancing afterwards. I'd recommend you find a plush chair with a cigar to let your gut do it's job. Our server was nice, helpful, and an all round great person. Our food was a tad disjointed in its arrival as there was a long pause after our starters, but it didn't ruin anything. We had more time to chat and drink. I must mention one thing though... The place is very loud. I had a hard time hearing people across the table and felt like I had to yell. So, not your spot for an intimate dinner.

Yelp
If it weren't for Summerlicious, I probably would've never visited this restaurant tucked away behind Downtown Camera - but I'm so glad that I ended up here! This is a Texas BBQ joint, a cuisine I haven't really ever explored. To start, the interior is really classy and modern looking, and a lot bigger than it looks on the outside. Their Summerlicious menu consists of 3 courses. For the appetizer, I chose the caesar salad which came as two big chunks of lettuce that you cut up to make your salad. It sounds weird but I actually enjoyed it! The other options were salmon tartare and a mini birria quesadilla, which my friends both opted for - and they said both were good. For our main, we all chose the same thing: the pit platter, so the kitchen put all of our orders together on a huge platter (as the name suggests). There was enough for everyone to get two ribs, two slices of beef brisket, and more than a spoonful of pulled pork each. They had three "hot" sauces that I think are made in-house (?) but none of them were really that hot. As for the meat, the ribs were really tender and fell off the bone. They paired really well with the sweet 'n spicy sauce offered. The brisket was my favourite; the flavour was so good and it paired well with the espresso hot sauce. And finally, I'm not a huge fan of pulled pork, but theirs wasn't too bad. My dessert was the coconut creme pie and the coconut was super overpowering. I wish I had gotten the banoffie pie - it had a great texture and was much more pleasant to eat than the dry coconut. The service was quick and the manager/owner even stopped by at one point to give us a lil' history lesson on the building and the story of The Carbon Bar. Overall, this was a great visit - and for all the BBQ lovers out there, this is the spot for you!

Yelp
Unnecessarily fancy spot for a BBQ. The food is slightly overpriced and the quantities aren't worth the price you're paying. The ribs are probably the best dish. We also got the brisket, which I thought was a tad bit salty. The steamed veggies was basically just kale. And the most disappointing was the dessert. We got the mocha toffee brownie. We couldn't cut into the dessert without a knife, and when we asked for a knife the manager brought out a steak knife. Should've said something about the quality of the dessert. The toffee was so hard that it hurt our jaws and teeth. And even with a steak knife we struggled to cut through it.

Yelp
Meat platter has huge portions, love it. A bit expensive though. Takes a while to serve. Interior is much bigger and nicer than it looks from the outside.

Yelp
High ceiling venue with great food. Service was inattentive but food came timely. Location is downtown and close to Eaton center but that specific block is sketchy. Overall, ordered the Jumbalaya for my main and it was delicious. 3.5 stars.

Yelp
great and fast service. high ceiling, great atmosphere, decent food! Came here with 3 friends because we got some time to kill before dinner. I'm glad we stopped by! oysters were fresh and cocktails were good. We will be back for the bbq next time!

Yelp
(OVERALL RATING: 3.5) Came here to try their summerlicious menu with my friends. For $55, I tried their mini birria tacos for my appetizer, pitmaster combo for my main, and lastly, banoffie pie for my dessert. The mini birria taco was tasty and flavourful. Since my friends also got the pitmaster combo, they had put it all on a tray for us to share. This included their St. Louis style ribs, prime beef brisket, pulled pork, coleslaw and pickles. We all agreed that the beef brisket tasted the best, while their ribs and pulled pork were average in my opinion. They also gave us sauces for the meats, sweet and spicy one was my favourite. This combo will definitely have you full though as it has all different meats to try, which is good for those trying the carbon bar for the first time. The dessert consisted of bourbon toffee, vanilla chantilly, and brulee banana and despite it being a small dessert, it was way too sweet I could not finish the whole thing. Overall it is a spot I'd recommend for all the meat lovers!

Yelp
Was surprised that they were quite quiet on a Sat night dinner service but that worked to our favour as we got a great table near the front. Service is friendly, although the drinks were a little slow to arrive. Our table tried the pit master plate which was definitely meat overload but thoroughly enjoyed (with plenty of leftovers for the next day), I had the cauliflower steak since I don't eat meat and it was quite delicious! I do find that "meatier" restos usually offer a really good vegetarian option so this lived up to that thought. I didn't love the dessert- we had the s'mores brownie which I found a little dry, a better topping of ice cream would have probably made up for it. Overall it was a delicious night out, if you're a meat eater I would say you definitely should try it!

Yelp
Booked the semi private room upstairs for a medium-sized group for training and was really impressed with how easy it was to work with the site to meet all my needs. The ambience perfectly met our tastes, the AV was easy to connect to (and worked beautifully) and the service/food was top notch. I would book another event here soon!

Yelp
Went to Carbon Bar for the first time in a very long time - it was one of the few decent places I could find in reasonable proximity to Massey Hall. It was as good as I remembered. The food was tasty, the servers were helpful in making selections, and were very attentive and friendly. Also the cocktails are all "designed" in house - we really enjoyed the whole experience.

Yelp
First time here after hearing so many good things about it. However, I was a little disappointed. My boyfriend and I ordered the bbq platter which comes with sausages, fried chicken, beef brisket, fries, pork ribs and pickles. The chicken was really dry and everything else was ok. I wasn't blown away. The platter also costs $38 per person which is very expensive for the amount they give you.

Yelp
Really great brisket and wings. I would highly recommend. Ordered take out a few times here.

Yelp
What a gem of a BBQ spot! I've been to quite a few BBQ spots in North America, and this place is high on my list! Vibe: We were seated in the dining area, which was designed really well. It wasn't particularly a loud environment, but I wouldn't say it was intimate either. It's a very large space. It actually wasn't as busy as I was expecting it to be on a Friday night. Food: We opted for the "experience menu", which interestingly enough, was pre-chosen. We received the following: Korean Fried Cauliflower- WOW these were absolutely delightful 5/5 Blistered Shishitos- I'm not a fan of shishitos, but these were really yummy. The Guajilo Chili was sublime! 5/5 Salmon Tartare- The salmon was incredibly fresh, and the puffed riced scoops were quite a surprise. 5/5 Smoked Bacon Caesar- I love a good caesar, and this was just that; Although, it was a little heavy on the sauce, but still delicious. 5/5 Pitmaster Platter- The ribs, brisket, sausage, and pulled pork were to die for. There was also chicken and turkey breast which i did not eat. Honestly, at this point, we were quite full (all the other courses were very generously sized) and we ended up taking the rest to go. It was still delicious 2 days later. 5/5 Drinks: The smokin' Manhattan- This was rather an average smokey manhattan. Nothing outrageous, but well balanced. 4/5 Raised by wolves- Now this was my kind of drink. Absolutely delightful. Highly recommend 5/5 Service: The service was great; although our server was rather corky and not the most hospitable, but still very nice. It's evident that the management does a great job of controlling all the staff. Each meal came out with perfect timing and each of the dishes were well explained. 5/5

Yelp
The place is gorgeous, but I have only done take out when in the area to bring home to hubby, because he loves BBQ. We have tried many items but the standouts for us are the Espresso BBQ sauce, racks of ribs, and the Korean Fried Cauliflower. All delicious! They can get busy, so make sure to allow time for your order. One of these days will drag hubby downtown and dine there in person!

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday evening with a large party. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The place itself is beautiful with a good ambiance and nice decor. There are a few stairs to get up to the main dining area. For an appetizer we had the korean fried cauliflower which was very tasty. For my main, I had the beef brisket which was so tender and soft with an amazing seasoning. The coleslaw had onions in it which I didn't like (my preference). The chicken from the Wild Mushroom Chicken dish was a little bland, but the mushroom sauce made up for it. If only the mushroom sauce was on top of the chicken and not on the side. For my drink I had the Summer Breeze cocktail which was nice and sweet. There are a few vegetarian items on the menu for those who cannot eat meat, but the menu is very meat focused. Beef, pork, and chicken are the main options. I would go back again as there were more things I wanted to try!

Yelp
Came here for some drinks and a catch up with old colleagues. We had a reservation and we're seated promptly - we went over our time limit by quite a bit and they were accommodating until another reservation came in. I had the pork tacos and they were delicious- i just wished it was three instead of two, that would have been the perfect combination. my colleague really enjoyed their food as well, they said the steak was cooked to the perfect consistency. One of my colleagues is a big bourbon drinker and was really happy to see the cart - hats off to the ops manager, he knows his stuff!

Yelp
Carbon bar is where I first fell in love with BBQ. The brisket and ribs are staples and some of the very best you'll find in toronto, and their sides and sauces are amazing which all come together to form a perfect meal. Starting with the venue - it's one of my favourites in the entire city. The ceilings are very high (I imagine this place was once a giant warehouse) which makes for an open, airy ambience with a beautiful bar and great attention to detail in the decor. The drinks are excellent as well - they have an extensive bourbon collection with many classics and harder to find options, and the bourbon cocktail Raised by Wolves is their signature in my opinion, flavored with ancho chili liqueur and undertones of lime and basil. Onto the sides - they have a few classics including: - KFC (korean fried cauliflower) with a lovely spicy korean bbq sauce - mac and cheese was bussin (respectfully) with a lovely chipotle breadcrumb crust on top - coleslaw was perfect, fresh and not too saucy - fries were perfectly crispy - collard greens were great too with lemon and butter Now onto the main event - the best way to go is to get the platter: - Beef brisket and ribs are amazing, both their staples. Their rub / seasoning is bursting with sweet peppery flavor and really hit the spot - Fried chicken was great, had a nice crunch to it although it is quite filling with a thick breading - All their meats are accompanied by a few sauces, the most important being the signature espresso BBQ and the sweet / spicy BBQ. Both sauces combine so well with the meats to form a perfect bite Lastly, we got some banoffee pie for dessert! The pie came with a vanilla chantilly and banana brittle with bourbon caramel, it was the perfect way to end a heavy meal with something light and sweet. Overall, I'd say this is the best spot in the city to come for BBQ food, and a perfect place to have a big sit down dinner with friends and drinks. It's been a staple of mine for years and a perfect meal every time.

Yelp
From start to finish, this place is amazing! Great staff, from the hostess to the owner, top notch. The drinks were amazing and unique. The food was beyond expectations, and we had high expectations. The atmosphere and ambiance are comfortable and classic. The price for all this experience was amazingly reasonable. I would highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back! Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to an incredible dinner!

Yelp
Went here for Father's Day, and was absolutely blown away. The service is wonderful and the atmosphere is very fun too. Everything we ordered was phenomenal, especially the brisket and pulled pork. The mac & cheese was also very tasty, and I really felt like Southern folk from Texas lol. Now I thought I was done being impressed by the delicious, fresh, and perfectly cooked meat, here came the dessert. The banoffee pie was THE BEST. in fact, it was so good that a picture never got snapped for this review. It was a real out of body experience at that point. Overall 10/10 restaurant. Will be coming here forever. Definitely do not skip out if in the Queen E neighborhood.

Yelp
Definitely will be a hit if you like brisket. Salty, tender and flavourful. I loved the salad and fried chicken. The Korean cauliflower had a bit of heat and we loved it! The Ribs were tender but not too soft, they came off bone perfectly. Made our way through a few cocktails And they were thoughtfully curated and very delicious. We found the servers to be really attentive - everyone seemed to be caring for our table. We didn't find it hard to flag someone down if needed. Large restaurant on Queen - could definitely accommodate groups.

Yelp
Recently got the bbq platter and the NYE special. There was so much food, so it took us a while to finish it all. The BBQ platter was great, had fried chicken, brisket, pulled pork, ribs, fries, cole slaw and three sauces to choose from. I liked the pulled pork the most from the selection, with the ribs coming in at a close second. They obviously pride themselves in their BBQ meats and take the time and effort to make it correctly. The NYE special was sooo good also, it was literally like bringing the restaurant to us for NYE. Carbon Bar took the time to make a special meal that could be easily transported and assembled with the minimal of effort. There was an appetizer of Cured Salmon Gravlax, Holiday Charcuterie (baguette, jambon de paris, sliced brisket, ages cheddar, mustard, mixed nuts, olives, dried fruit, duck rillettes), Slow Braised Lamb Shank served with mustroom barley pilaf and smokey jus, and a Chocolate Tart for dessert. Follow the simple assembly and reheating instructions for an epic meal. Throw in your own wine to make it the perfect NYE meal.

Yelp
Great downtown spot for delicious BBQ platters and cocktails. Staff are friendly too.

Yelp
Our meal was very good. Probably the best Caesar salad I've ever had ! Staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was lively . Very much enjoyed our visit. A little pricey but not enough that I wouldn't come back. Bar selection was unreal! Looks like it is a great place for large groups

Yelp
Service was amazing. Space was quite open and lots of room. Recommend making resos ahead of time. Crocodile bites were yummy. I definitely liked the sauce. 5 Star octopus paella. Looked good and tasted good. Good sized portion. 4 Star beef brisket. I'm a little disappointed that it didn't come w more sides or bigger portions at least. A little pricey for only a few slices of meat. Soft otherwise. Plain and left me hungry. 5 Star dessert - we tried the Banoffee pie, sweet bourbon filling, banana brulee, Chantilly cream, caramel - the presentation with cute edible flowers and taste was amazing ! Prices for drinks and coffee were okay but kind of pricey. I guess it's expected in the area and that it's also three dollar signs $$$.

Yelp
No. Place understaffed and building is run down. I was literally served by a kitchen staff member in hi pyjama bottoms. Weird. Lovely waitress but she had to wait on tables up and down stairs. Not worth the money

Yelp
I visited on a Friday night I did make reservations and my reservations were ready for me when I was there I would like to give it a 3.5 star but because you can't give half Stars I will give it a 4 and Round Up So I decided to visit because I saw on Instagram that they had a keto menu for the month of January which I think is so awesome not many restaurants incorporate keto options I got the master pit it was so delicious and it comes with the keto barbecue sauce on the side so you can decide whether or not you want to use the barbecue sauce. It also came with coleslaw and collard greens as sides the meat was so tender honestly I highly recommend and it's great for sharing Because of all the reviews that I read before I went I also decided to try their Korean fried cauliflower even though it's not Keto it was so delicious and worth the cheat if you go definitely try the cauliflower the person I was with ordered the mac and cheese and unfortunately it tasted quite different than what we are used to I'm not sure what type of cheese they used but it was not good we did express it to the waitress and she took it off the bill So I knock one star off for the mac and cheese that didn't taste good and I would knock off half a star because of the service throughout the nights the waitress did not really check up on us to see if we were doing okay if we wanted to order anything else the service wasn't all the way there that is why I would want to take off another 1/2 * but I would definitely go back

Yelp
Enjoyed a lovely dinner here on Saturday night. We ordered from the Winterlicious 2019 menu, which was a great way to sample a number of CB's dishes. A reservation is a must. Initially I saw a few empty tables, but the place was packed soon after we arrived at six o'clock. The ambiance was great with great decor. Towards the front of the restaurant/bar area, there are some cool looking lights. Now to the food ... As a starter, I ordered the sea bream ceviche. This dish included refreshing radish, spicy kimuchi-esque sauce and nori sprinkled on top. It was very good! For my main, I ordered the rib and brisket dish - another good choice. CB has a smoker on site and if close enough to the kitchen, you can catch a whiff of the nice aroma. Overall, I enjoyed my visit here. The food was great as was the experience. I can't wait to return and try other items on their menu. Good for: bbq

Yelp
Our experience at the carbon bar was great; however, it was a tad overpriced for what it was. The cocktails were amazing. The Joker and the Thief, Pit Fired Old Fashioned and The Pope were all excellent selections. For food we ordered the duck tacos, fried green tomatoes, beef brisket and BBQ pit beans. The brisket was so tender, some of the best that I have had. But, I did not care for the beans. They were hearty but I did not like the ratio of meat to beans. The bourbon skull chocolate for dessert was so cool, I chose to pair mine with an ounce of woodford reserve for $10 instead of $3.50. If you are in Toronto, I do recommend The Carbon Bar!

Yelp
I never thought I would come to Toronto of all places to get delicious BBQ. Oh Canada, I'm so sorry for doubting you! Every bit of this restaurant is set to impress, inquire, and inspire from the aesthetics to the cuisine. This may be the Carbon Bar, but it's not a Carbon Copy of anything. All I can say is this... 1) They have a smoked house whiskey that tastes like a meal. 2) Their rib are tender, well seasoned, and peels off the bone like a banana from a peel. 3) Their greens aren't over-seasoned and well cooked with a firmness and bitterness that contrast that savory BBQ sauce. 4) Their BBQ sauce is PHUCKING BOMB. 5) Every aspect of their service is absolutely stellar. 6) Although the crocodile bites tasted good, I was not impressed with the clam strip style and sauce to go with it. The bartender was totally receptive to the feedback and was like YO HAVE SOME MORE OF THIS SMOKED BBQ FLAVORED WHISKEY :) PLEASE make it your priority to come here. You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Girls night! When my friends come from out of town, we've got to go out for dinner, drinks and good times. I wanted to try somewhere I'd never been and Carbon Bar, at Queen and Church, had been on my list for awhile! Reservations were made and off we went. The unusually large entrance welcomed us as we were seated. High ceilings with sleek lighting greeted us with trendy, yet comfortable décor. At the front of the dining area is a large bar with seating all around with more fabulous lighting and wood accents. This place is on point! They offer signature cocktails which looked to be pretty popular. The beer menu was alright; all the good stuff was in bottles, but I was happy local beer was available. My friends laughed when I was served a 600ml bottle of Beau's. Time for eats! I ordered the Duck Tacos($18), mostly because I cannot say no to duck. The crispy duck flanked by THE smoothest guac and pineapple salsa ever. To die for. I ate all 3 before anyone had taken their first bites! One of my gal pals ordered the Summer Striploin($35). After taking her first bite, we had to ask her if she was OK, because her eyes rolled back in her head it was so good. Needless to say, she did not share. Another lovely lady, usually incredibly chatty, was completely silenced by the Prime Beef Brisket($25). The Jalapeno Corn Bread($8) was the only dish shared; great portion size! Warm and sweet with a little kick, this was divine smothered in whipped butter. Even after all of that food, us ladies kept room for dessert. A few of us got the Rocky Road Sundae($12) to share. The sundae had 2 large scoops of vanilla ice cream, surrounded by toasted marshmallows, candied hazelnuts and graham crackers and drizzled with chocolate and caramel. A few ladies went for the Banoffee Pie($12). It was interesting. It's small, but very shareable as it is very sweet. The cake tastes of bourbon and is topped with the banana brulee. It's a little off balance, the brulee dominating over the bourbon filling, but if you're not in to chocolate, this is a great dessert. The service was great. Food out in a reasonable amount of time and super friendly. Love it when you can joke with the staff! Sometimes it was hard to find our server, but it was pretty busy! Food was excellent! I'm already planning my next visit!

Yelp
I visited their stand at the Union Summer Market, and was immediately enraptured by their Mexican corn! So many people were ordering it and it looked quite nice. The Mexican corn consisted of one grilled corn on the cob, topped with a cheese dressing and then coated in fried corn chips/nibs. The cheese dressing added a tangy profile to the sweet corn, while the fried bits provided a nice crunch and interesting texture. Overall, I did enjoy the corn; however, I do think that the corn could have been served hotter. It was quite cool when I received it, likely because they had pre-grilled the corn in anticipation of a large crowd or line up. It wasn't the best corn I've had, but was a fairly interesting combo!

Yelp
Carbon bar My experience with this restaurant was 3-3.5 star. Decided on this place for a birthday celebration due to the good reviews. Even a friend said they loved this place so I had good expectations it would be a nice dining experience. Disappointed, just found it average. Made reservations online and mentioned it was for a birthday occasion. However, this was not even acknowledged by any of the staff during my group's entire dining experience. I don't expect free food or anything but not even a "hope you have a nice time celebrating tonight" by the server. Nothing. Service - service was polite enough, but again if a group books for a special occasion it would be nice to have an acknowledgment. There was also a 2-2.5 hour max per table rule so I did note that while the server reminded us they did not kick us out right after we passed a bit over that time. Our group did appreciate that consideration. However, this restaurant is marked as upscale and more after work environment so perhaps I had higher expectations on customer service. Disappointed cause I've had better, more personable service at inexpensive restaurants. Food - Food at first glance was good. I ordered the brisket and mac and cheese dish. Pricey for portion. But I was full after ordering these two dishes. Brisket was nice but like I wasnt wowed. Mac and cheese was good and spicy but I think I got sick from it. Meal did not settle well after. So something in my meal was off. Overall, would I go back? Maybe with coworkers or when your company foots the bill. For special occasions? Nope.

Yelp
What a great spot for a night out! Well, more like a great spot to spend two hours. I've been here a couple of times now and I just love it. The ambiance and decor make the place feel like a really cool, fun place to spend your evening. Sadly, they do push you to leave when you get close to the two hour mark. The food is really good but some of the items are not really what I would consider to be worthy of their price tag. For example, on my first visit, I ordered the duck tacos. While delicious, definitely not worth $17 for two tacos. Add a third, and I'd say that's more appropriate. Or, shave a few dollars off. Either way, too pricey for what you get and I'd never order them again. The bay scallop poke was just ok, in fact, completely forgettable. From the description on the menu, I expected more flavour but it was kind of bland. However, on my next visit, I had the Pit Master platter, and it was really good, and obviously very popular as I saw many of them being delivered to nearby tables. Three of us ordered this and then two of us had the Fishmonger platter, along with a few sides - corn bread and collard greens. The greens were greasy and the corn bread was dry, but they both had good flavour. The fries that came with the platter were sad and limp - we didn't bother with them. I really enjoyed everything on the BBQ platter - especially the chicken. It was so tender and juicy on the inside and beautifully crispy on the outside. I never order chicken in a restaurant because I feel it's something I can cook well enough at home. But this chicken, I'm sure I couldn't do better if I tried. I didn't bother with any of the sauces on the meat, as I prefer to taste the flavours of the meat itself. Loved how tender the brisket was, especially with the crusty edges. Yum! I usually prefer my ribs to be more "falling off the bone" tender, but I can appreciate different styles as well. These ribs had a bit more pull to them, but they were still really good. The Fishmonger platter was also quite impressive - the daikon and wakame salad was my least favourite, but everything else was great, especially the clams - I don't eat them often so they were a nice treat. Would've been better if there were a couple more oysters, too. Love raw oysters! The 5th person at our table had the octopus and said it was very tender and flavorful. I might get that next time, as I absolutely love grilled octopus. The service was really spot on, as well. I had a drink I really enjoyed on my first visit, but wasn't on the menu last time. When I asked, the bartender was happy to make it for me. Their bourbon drinks are incredible and really pack a punch - I just wish I could make them at home! This is definitely a place I want to go back to.

Yelp
The Carbon bar has amazing BBQ in a beautiful open space. * Argentinian Wild Shrimp - We ordered this as an appetizer and it's amazing! The shrimps taste great on its own! * Pit Master Platter - This has all the bbq options including pork ribs, brisket, fried chicken and turkey breast. The brisket and ribs are so amazing! The brisket has the perfect level of fat and melts in your mouth. I may just order it on its own next time! * Arctic char - It's the special of the day and also really good! Arctic char is always a good choice for seafood!

Yelp
This place was excellent. The food was excellent, the cocktails were excellent, our server's ironic mullet was excellent, the place even smells excellent. It was like high end BBQ. Kinda like if you brought cocaine to a cookout.

Yelp
Such a modern-looking venue. Always love the space and the food. The black mamba cocktail is always my favourite, infused with black charcoal. The KFC. Korean Fried Cauliflower was a hit too. Such a nice sauce and perfectly crisp on the outside. The four of us shared 2 of the larger platers that have most of the meats and fries. That order was perfect. They were pushing for us to order more but ended up being even a little too much as it was. So I highly suggest ordering less than you think and then see where you're at. It's all very filling and yummy. The brisket and ribs had to be my favourite followed by the chicken.

Yelp
Fast service, good beer, great food, friendly staff, and a super comfortable atmosphere. A little pricey, but well worth the cost. Absolutely will be coming back again

Yelp
You have to go here!! This place is just about close to perfect in every way. The food, plus the excellent service, and awesome atmosphere makes this a 5 Star for me. I made reservations on open table and when I arrived, I was greeted and promptly brought to the table. They have a coat check at the front which is advisable if you're wearing a jacket as it'll probably smell like bbq (albeit delicious) for a while after you leave. The restaurant is over the top looking, it's like a cool mix of modern smokehouse but in a large warehouse-like building. It's classy but casual, good for any kind of occasion. I noticed some birthday dinners, dates and even some people stopping by for after-work drinks. It's really good for any occasion, even a casual dinner. We ordered almost everything off the menu. We started with some drinks, they have an extensive drink menu and some innovative cocktails. I had a cocktail, I can't remember the name but there was gin and some fruit in it, it was awesome. As I mentioned, we ordered a lot of food, some of the standouts were the Korean fried cauliflower, it was insanely delicious, the meat platter which comes with brisket, fried chicken and ribs, I loved every type of meat, my favourite were the ribs. They were perfectly smoky and tender, as for sides, the pickles, Mac and cheese and buns were delicious, the fries were also great. We also ordered the s'mores sundae and the chocolate dessert for two. Both were rich but delicious, and beautifully presented. The service was great, our server was really good with helping us pick our dishes and recommending drinks. She was also very attentive and friendly. There was a ton of food. For four of us we ordered the platter for 4 and almost all of the sides. I would probably recommend ordering the platter for 2 or 3 for 4 people and the sides for sharing. It was way too much food with appetizers and desserts. We ended up taking home about 2 pounds of food. Price point isn't cheap, it's easy to rack up a nice bill here if you're enjoying all the sides and drinks and whatnot, and it's really tough not to want everything! Probably more of a place for special occasions than a casual meal, however they do have weekly specials like discounts on oysters and drinks depending on the day of the week. I will most definitely be back, either for a special occasion, to take advantage of a daily special, or to try the brunch which also looks amazing!!

Yelp
Highly recommend this place - delicious food, friendly service and a nice ambiance. We started off with Tony as our server and got switched to Danica and both were very friendly and attentive to our needs. Food to order (way too much for 2 ppl but it still tastes delicious the day after!) - KFC absolute must - beef brisket is to die for - delicious corn bread - chipotle Mac n cheese had a nice kick - dark choc mousse was rich and creamy - Nutella s'more was nicely charred We also got the grilled crocodile skewers but would suggest skipping that.
