My friend and I stumbled upon The Carbon Bar by accident while searching for a place to eat, and the atmosphere instantly pulled us in. It was our first time here, and after walking around looking for a good dining spot, this place caught our attention with its stylish yet inviting vibe. The dim lighting, sleek décor, and lively yet not overwhelming ambiance made it feel like a great place to unwind and enjoy a meal.
From the moment we sat down, our server was welcoming and attentive. They took the time to go over the menu and recommended the burgers, mentioning that they were a popular choice. Taking their advice, I went with the Bison Burger, while my friend opted for the Carbon Burger.
When the food arrived, the portion sizes were quite generous. The burgers looked incredible, and from the first bite, I could tell that they were made with high-quality ingredients. My Bison Burger was juicy, well-seasoned, and had a nice depth of flavour, while my friend also raved about the Carbon Burger. The buns were fresh and soft, complementing the patties perfectly.
Unfortunately, the fries were a disappointment. They had a distinct old-oil taste that was hard to ignore, making them almost inedible. It was a bit of a letdown, especially considering the price point. While the burger itself was worth it, I would have expected the entire meal to be equally enjoyable.
Another thing we noticed was the crowd. Since we went on a weekday, the restaurant had a more business-like, older clientele. It wasn’t overly loud or chaotic, which made for a relaxed dining experience. I can imagine it gets busier and more energetic on weekends.
Overall, The Carbon Bar has a lot going for it—great atmosphere, friendly service, and fantastic burgers. However, the fries definitely need improvement, and considering the price, I would have liked everything on the plate to be enjoyable. That being said, I’d still come back, but next time, I might skip the fries and stick to what they do best: burgers.
