Castle is my favourite local cinema. It has two screens—one larger, one smaller—but both feel intimate and inviting. I especially love the armchair-style seating in Screen 1, which is cosy, comfortable, and perfect for sinking into a film.
The programme focuses mostly on mainstream new releases, though they also include some alternative offerings like Jellied Reels and Cine-Real (16mm). I do wish they showcased more niche films, foreign-language titles, and curated thematic strands, as that would make the line-up more exciting.
The café-bar is a beautiful, welcoming space. They host a food residency, serve fresh pastries, and stock all the classic cinema snacks—including the best sweet popcorn I’ve ever had. The staff are always lovely and friendly, and the facilities are kept clean and well maintained.
