I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help, which really made a positive difference throughout my visit. The room was clean, well maintained, and provided a relaxing space to unwind after a busy day. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was calm and inviting, making it easy to feel at home.||||All facilities met my expectations, and everything ran smoothly during my stay. I particularly appreciated the professionalism and warm attitude of the team, who went out of their way to ensure guests felt looked after.||||The only downside was the parking charge, which was higher than I had anticipated. Aside from this, my experience was thoroughly positive, and I would happily stay here again and recommend the hotel to others looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay.

We had a really lovely family meal at The Leaf Restaurant at The Castle Hotel Windsor. The staff were attentive, friendly, and professional, and the service was quick without ever feeling rushed. A few of us chose the festive turkey meal and it was delicious. Dietary requirements were handled with care, portions were generous, and the food was beautifully presented and full of flavour. A special shout-out to Chef Lorenzo for an outstanding meal! Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back.

The hotel far exceeded our expectations, especially considering the very reasonable rates. An outstanding value for money. The room was spacious and impeccably appointed, featuring an exceptionally comfortable king-size bed with soft, high-quality pillows. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged to ensure a truly relaxing stay. The staff were consistently attentive, professional, and welcoming. This will undoubtedly be our hotel of choice whenever we return to Windsor.

We came here for christmas. We felt at home in a second. Especially the staff was absolutly lovely. They took very much care of us. The room had plenty of little christmas surprises, especially one for our daughter. She didnt want to leave the room anymore. We even had a small christmas tree. Would highly recommend it to everyone.

We arrived on the day of the German Chancellor’s state visit. There was no obvious parking available on the hotels car park and finding somewhere else with the road closures would have been difficult. Top marks to reception for finding us a spot and giving us a warm welcome.|There were renovations underway. We were warned by email and as a result we chose to eat elsewhere so cannot comment on these aspects. We didn’t have any problems as a result of the ongoing works.|Location is perfect. Stepping straight out onto the high street and around 5 minutes walk from the castle.|Our room was a standard room with a queen bed in the park wing. Our booking said it was a ‘city view park wing classic’. It actually overlooked the car park but at this time of year it didn’t matter and it was fairly quiet. We were happy with the room. It was clean, modern and comfortable and very good value.|We would definitely stay here again.

Room 431 was cold on arrival and took 10mins for heating to kick in.||There was a draft coming underneath door so had a spare towel rolled up to block off.||Small wardrobe area, not big enough to hang winter coats and other clothes ie Suit etc…..no coat hangers anywhere else, needs hooks or coat and hat stand. Also no dressing table. Bed very comfortable and shower lovely although 5mins for hot water to come through.||£30.00 for car park on top of price of room £162.00 for one night, this is TOTALLY unacceptable!!||Staff were excellent!||My review is based on things that probably need addressing.

Perfect location for enjoying the area. Visited the castle, and attended Evensong at St. George's Chapel. Enjoyed a bit of shopping, and walked to great restaurants. Due to the hotel renovations, I don't feel we enjoyed the full ambiance the hotel has to offer, but the Park Wing was fine. Spacious room and a good breakfast offering.

You can walk everywhere. Our room had a view of Windsor castle. They gave us a special congratulations card for our engagement.

Yelp
Beautiful property close to the main attraction of Windsor Castle. There's also the benefit of being close to Eton and the beautiful surroundings! Check in was somewhat seamless. As an American, I was somewhat taken aback by the lovely receptionist who asked, "Did you know Trump is going to visit?" I thought she was being inclusive. My response, "Yes! I'm bummed I'll miss him." She said, with an unpleasant look, "You are?" Yes, half of America voted for and continue to support this man. Leave politics out of hospitality. That said, she was lovely on ash other accounts. The lift didn't work, but it's an old, but stunning building. Rooms are spacious and finally, we got face cloths! The restaurant and bar have a great atmosphere. Decorated with greenery (fake but will maintained) and bright colors that make you feel alive. The restaurant and bar include a variety of food and drink that would please anyone, even the pickiest of eaters. However, upon arrival at the bar, we weren't sure if we needed to order first or wait for a server. A server came by and she either was having a bad day or she didn't care for Americans, as we attempted to relate our order to her and got abide and sarcastic remarks. We would have left if it wa6nt for Jake. He was accommodating, friendly and went out of guys way for us. He's a reason we would return to the bar/restaurant! The beds are comfy, however my cousin and I have twin beds and they slide this way and that. Wondering if there's a way to make them more stable. First round at the mini bar is complimentary. Our view was towards the back of the hotel. Nothing to see there but cranes, alleys and rooftops that are an odd guy to the rest of the hotel. The great food, comfort and welcoming (for the most part) make this a place I would return, grabbed politics are never discussed, especially upon check in and not promoted by any conversation and we're the receptionist's personal views. It definitely made me want to start elsewhere. It's fortunate we had a great experience after check in. Again, it almost made me feel uncomfortable and I was thinking of leaving. However, people have different opinions and I respect that. I just didn't think I would encounter such bias upon check-in. I wonder if our room with the not so great view were based on my views. With the lift out of order, we either had to lug our suitcases up 3 flights if crooked stairs or have someone lug them up for us. The man was so gracious, but this is a job for the young and fit. I felt signing this task what I believe was the most senior staff was not a week thought out plan. Again, the hotel, location, lovely accommodations, food and most staff makes this a wonderful choice for your stay in Windsor!

Yelp
Cute little hotel in Windsor. Had a great High Tea here, and breakfast buffet was amazing and FREE. Room had all the comforts of home and prices were reasonable!

Yelp
I know they try. If not because of all the inconveniences, it would be a FIVE STAR REVIEW!! The property has a great crew and everyone are ultra friendly. Location is great, Windsor Castle and the Victoria Royal Station are off the corner. It is not an inexpensive hotel, nightly cost is approximately £300 and inconveniences were experienced throughout. The room isn't roomy and that's fine. The lack of furniture is the major problem. Only table surface is a luggage rack and a 24-5" chair side table. Closet space is small, thankfully I am only staying for one night, it would otherwise blown my head off as to where to place things. Attaching a few pictures, the hotel try to do things right. I'm ok with a small closet as I travel alone. Imagine this is for a couple, where are they going to hang things? On the good end, the closet and the bathroom are loaded with supplies. The room isn't equipped with a desk, when trying to get things done, it's either sitting up at the chair or on the bed. Needless to say, bathroom is tiny, I cannot imagine how a couple at the same time able to manage especially when the lady try doing her make up while the man doing his grooming. The countless inconveniences drive you nut!

Yelp
Hotel is a very short walk to Windsor castle. Staff are excellent, accommodating and very nice. Had a team meeting here with colleagues from around the globe and their conference rooms are spacious, quiet and the lobby is full of drinks, coffee, tea and afternoon snacks.

Yelp
I only spent a night/day here, but it was a pleasant experience. I received an upgrade on arrival and got one of the superior suites. The room was huge, with a very comfy bed and had an annexed room with a sofa. Big TV and minibar (with complimentary softdrinks) in both rooms. A lovely bathroom with both a shower and a bath tub. There was quite a good selection for breakfast, although the buffet might seem small compared to other hotels I've been to, it had everything I needed. There was also a menu of hot dishes to order, and I must say I really enjoyed my scrambled eggs and salmon. I spent most of the day in the lounge doing some work on my laptop. Beautiful, although it can get a little noisy as it's next to reception. The location, what can I say... Excellent, right in front of Windsor Castle. Very convenient for tourists. I will most likely go back if I need to stay in a hotel in Windsor again.

Yelp
The restaurant here is not very good. We had afternoon tea here and was excited by the menu and the reviews. Service was terrible, just all over the place. Had to ask for everything, utensils, napkin, tea, correction to food (3x) and still did not get it right. The manager just seemed annoyed and a bit confrontational. Do not recommend this place

Yelp
Bit of a mixed bag this one - was treated to a stay here as part of my birthday weekend. Hotels location is great - right opposite Windsor Castle, which for a little castle geek like me, was amazing! We even got to see the changing of the guard the following morning. Loved it! Room was great - recently refurbished, so everything was nice and shiny new. Was very spacious, had a nespresso machine (score!) and a nice & comfy bed too. They even had sockets at each side of the bed for phones - amazing how rare that still is in hotels! Best of all, they left a happy birthday plate with a brownie, handmade chocs, and a fruit basket - great gesture!! After that, it does go a bit downhill. The shower basically trickles water on you - in that case, they've definitely gone style over substance. Seeing as a good shower is a big part of my morning "wake me up" this put a bit of a dampener on it. The service was also quite patchy - it's clear there's been work done on the hotel, and that includes the systems. Unfortunately the staff are still a bit tentative about it all (even as a hotel pro, I look at touchscreen Opera with a hint of wariness...). Basically, they didn't seem sure about what to do, or how to do it. That I can understand, but none of them seemed to have the common sense to work out a solution - it was always "just wait while we sort it". If they can sort the staff training out, it's a very high 4* review. Fix the showers, and a definite 5. Until then, will have to be a 3 I'm afraid.

Yelp
Firstly Id say Id stay here again...Nice hotel, parking was easy to find but a bit tight, checkin was easy to find at the rear of the hotel from the car park. We were checked in quickly, there was a mixup with out room which was quickly sorted out. We had a Suite. It was decorated very well, the bed was comfortable and updated bathroom was really nice. We could hear people talking in the room next door but that didnt bother us. The Wifi worked ok in most parts of the rooms but there were a few dead spots. I guess when they built the hotel in 1528 they didnt think about adding Wi-Fi. In all a very nice hotel and I stay in hotels 40-50 nights a year.

Yelp
The Mercure is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. This hotel is kind of hit and miss. Because an entire crew was sent here for work that means I'm also Yelping on behalf of my co workers. My experience: The rooms are quaint. Whatever picture they have at the front desk on the banner is far from what one actually gets. There is a fridge which will hold a litre of water, some cheese, yogurt and one nights worth of leftovers; not much else. My room had a window which would crack open about 2 inches to allow for fresh air to circulate. Oddly enough I didn't have any outlets near my bed. Only the two that were across from my bad at the desk. There is air conditioning which works really well. The bathroom is a fun adventure. It's equipped with the classic European dual faucet for each temperature in the sink and bath. The shower has the traditional handheld head (which looks very similar to a telephone circa the Victorian era, 19th century) and a "American" high mounted shower head which is guaranteed to wake up your neighbours upon use; It's loud. As a place to lay your head down it's fine. Basic amenities and parking , should you require, is available. My only huge gripe is the heavy doors. They tend to slam and one of my pet peeves is people who slam doors. My colleagues experience: Let's set the baseline here. My co worker is a 6'2" Boston Man. He requires at the very least a queen sized bed. On our first trip to Windsor for work he was assigned to a room where his bed was just enough to support his torso as his legs and arms hung off. His bed was not much larger than a twin. He had asked to be moved but at the time the hotel was full up and he had to deal. His room was also much smaller than the normal size. He could roll out of bed into the bathroom in one movement, it was literally 2 steps to the bathroom. My other co worker found her showers unbearably cold. For whatever reason hot water just never reached her room. It does take a bit of time for the shower head water to heat up but I assure you, it does. It is close to the Windsor & Eaton Central railway and just behind the Windsor Castle. There are several pubs and a lot of restaurants nearby. The hotel bar and restaurant isn't too shabby. The hotel does offer wi-fi. Signal strength can vary based on your location. It's a bit annoying to have to re enter the codes provided whenever I restart my computer or leave the premises. Bottom line: The Mercure is a great place if you intend to spend most of your time travelling about. But it lack the amenities to spend and entire day indoors and feel really comfortable.

Yelp
Stayed overnight to easily see the castle in morning. Great location, castle about a 2 minute walk. A lot of shops and restaurants right by. We had a very late dinner in the bar and it was delicious. The bartender was very friendly. All of the staff were accommodating and friendly. Rooms were nice, clean and modern. I left my jacket in the bar and the next morning the front desk staff member who helped me went above and beyond to find it and return it to me. Made my day. Def recommend!

Yelp
This review is for dinner in their hotel bar. The barman, Andi, was incredibly inviting and took care of everything I needed. I ordered a double gourmet steak burger with streaky bacon, cheddar cheese, grilled tomatoes, and chili relish. It was super yummy! A great experience after a day of traveling. Worth a trip.

Yelp
The Mercure Windsor Castle is mostly a complete miss. What you are going to get: (1) A roof over your head... (2)...in a safe district of Windsor... (3)...within walking distance of Windsor Castle (and the Queen when she's in residence)... (4)...Hot and Cold water... (5)...and a toilet that is functioning For the price that you pay, I would expect all of the above (except the "within walking distance" thing). However, I will echo Alia in that while the rooms are quaint, the picture that is on the Internet and on the banner at the front desk are both a far cry from what one actually gets. There is a small fridge which is housed with two 25cl waters - one still, one sparkling. You could buy food at one of the local markets or the Tesco Express and probably store one day's worth of small bites within the refrigerator as well. Additionally, the beds are tiny. I mean severely small. I am 5 feet, 8 inches tall. My head touched the headboard and my feet were literally almost over the end of the bed. When I step into the shower, which is within the raised bathtub, I could hold my arm out exactly horizontal with my shoulder and then bend my at the elbow to form an exact 90 degree angle and I touched the ceiling. It was tiny and comical. It was especially comical because one of the folks in our party was 6ft., 7in. and he said it was laughable for him to even try to get in the shower/tub. He said he basically showered like Gollum had to walk in the Lord of the Rings. The Internet is accessible via WiFi which is great for conferences, but the silly 50 hour only codes that worked like 50% of the time were annoying. And, not that I wanted to watch TV but I did want background noise when getting ready each day/night, the TV probably needed someone with telepathy that communicates with electronic devices to get the damned thing to turn on. It was just bad news bears. Is it the worst or the "bad rumors" that you hear about European hotels? No. But, it certainly was not a place in which I would stay again if given the choice.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this hotel!!! What a fantastic location right across from the Windsor Castle and easy walking distance to Peascod Street, the big shopping area and a myriad of restaurants, pubs and other attractions. Every staff member I encountered was very friendly and helpful. My room was in top shape with great amenities. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented (£12/person for buffet). Overall I felt extremely well accommodated and this hotel was a big part of what made my trip to Windsor so great!

Yelp
Inattentive staff, no hot water! Stayed for 4 nights and there was no hot water in the mornings. Made staff aware of the issue every day and nothing was done to rectify the issue. I had other colleagues stay the duration that had the same experience. The bar staff is overwhelmed and at times it took 40 min for a glass of water to arrive. The queue to check out in the mornings was 10 people deep. I would recommend you stay someplace else.

Yelp
We stayed in a lovely room with a four poster bed. Great location for hotel and got to watch changing of the guard from our room! Staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The restaurant also serves good food from an excellent menu. All in all, definately recommended.

Yelp
It is difficult to know where to start as the whole place oozes class but you can still let your hair down. Amazingly your stay begins with complimentary parking and concierge service, through the seemingly effortless reception and to your room/suite. And all this within sight of Windsor Castle, pinch yourself things are only just starting. Visit the excellent lounge bar for a snifter before strolling out to take in the sights. Return for a wash and brush up before dining in either the excellent bistro or the grand panel walled restaurant. If the mood takes you join in the banter back in the bar to the wee small hours and then retire to the luxury of your superbly appointed accomadation. Business or pleasure the Castle will certainly make you feel like Royalty.
