We happened on the Inn after not being able to find a pub that wasn't full to the brim we tried 4 prior. They were the most welcoming people I've ever come across! We askes for a table for 4 and states that we would just be having drinks as we were aware that they were serving lunches for booked tables. Initially, we were shown to a little back area with a few benches and a table which we were more than happy with and ordered our drinks. Just a few minutes later our waitress appears with our drinks and advises that she could fit us in, in the main area at bigger table and it was near the fire place which she had just stoked. Our other party of 2 arrived and we again got quick and efficient service from our waitress, even though the other tables were full and they were all having the carvery lunch. I asked if it was possible to order a plate of chips and due to the lunch menu on offer, was told that the chef needed to be consulted. Nit wanting to interfere with the menu I said not to bother as they had been so kind to us already. Lo and behold, when our second round of drinks arrived so did a huge portion of freshly done chips. A delightful surprise and absolutely delicious! Fresh, piping hot, the right amount of fluffy on tge inside and excellent crisp on the outside. I do wish we had been better prepared as we certainly would have ordered more their food if the chips were anything to go by. We will be returning in the future and I would again, like to thank the 2 young ladies that served us and showed us such kindness on a very wet and cold day when no-one else would let us in. A beautiful old English pub with good food and selection of drinks. Well worth a visit.

Ate here with friends and their dog so I can verify it's a dog friendly pub. You can't book a table in advance but there's a place to sit and wait, once you're on the waiting list, and I must admit the food smells coming from the kitchen were amazing while we waited. There aren't many tables inside and all were full when we got there, for good reason though. All the food was cooked fresh to order and when the Specials ran out, they ran out! I had a lovely steak, cooked to order (rare). The chicken curry got rave reviews around the table and the burger was enjoyed too. All well cooked. There were plenty of options for those with food intolerances and a good selection of gluten free choices. They had a code legend on their Specials board, which I thought was a brilliant idea. It's one of the few places in Corfe that has parking on the premises. I didn't see any disabled places, but I was able to park close enough so it wasn't a big deal. Inside is quite tight for space but it does have a step free entrance. It's small however, so although I'd suggest you leave a mobility scooter outside, a wheelchair would be ok for an experienced user. I'll happily eat here again.

Enjoyed a fabulous New Year's Eve dinner. Very hospitable. Great will dealing with my wife's allergies. Great food. Even better hospitality. Would definitely recommend

We loved it! Helpful staff, extremely kid friendly and a gloriously beautiful ceiling. Had an excellent steak pie and kiddo had pasta with the sauce in a little gravy boat so she had control over how it was mixed up, which suited her down to the ground. Lovely puddings.

I found this pub as I was looking for the number 40 bus stop back to Poole from Corfe Castle. I had a 35 minute wait until I stopped in for a cup of tea and could not believe my luck. This place is as old as the rest of the village and authentic top to bottom. The tea was delicious and they served it in a sweet little ceramic pot. The staff was funny and so were the locals hanging out and chatting. One offered to take this picture of me as I roamed around like an obnoxious American taking pictures of the fireplaces and the beams and the floors and the furniture and the picnic tables out back. What a gem! They're about 1/4 mile out of the main village, but more than worth it.

Lovely pub, perfect place to stop for lunch on our way home from Studland. Varied menu with lots of choice, staff were really friendly too. Dog friendly with a big garden.

Food was fantastic 😋 the owner was very welcoming, nothing, was to much trouble. 4 stars for atmosphere as it was quite, even for a Thursday, but is early January.

Absolutely unacceptable experience. We arrived at 2:40pm with children, expecting to eat, only to be told the kitchen was closed, despite the pub clearly stating food is served until 3:00pm. What made this even worse is that there were other customers actively eating when we walked in. So the kitchen was clearly not closed — just closed for us. The staff showed no empathy, no explanation, and no effort to help, even though we had kids with us. The attitude was cold and dismissive, which left us feeling extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. As a foreign family, it’s hard not to feel we were treated differently. This is not how any customer — especially families with children — should be treated. Misleading information, poor service, and zero respect. We will not be returning and I strongly advise others to think twice.

Yelp
Now this is how you do roast dinners. When you're rambling around the Corfe area you have a choice of stop offs to rest your feet and I'm glad we chose here. We booked in advance as with most old places it's on the small side, but it does have a covered beer garden for warmer days. One reason this placed gets packed out is the locally sourced Sunday roast. The meat and the veg come from within 3 miles of the pub and the gravy comes straight from the stock pot making it a real taste of Dorset. It's also very generous in portion and price. Another selling point is the friendly husband and wife team running the show. They have a warm humour and great rapport which gives the pub its homely atmosphere. It does come with a dash of eccentricity. The low original ceiling was covered in multi-coloured fairy lights and that combined with the choral music playing made it feel like eternal Christmas. I'm not complaining. I love Christmas! I'll definitely be back to taste the rest of the menu. Well not all of it at the same time, but there was certainly a Steak & Ale Pie with my name on it.
