Lovely pub, perfect place to stop for lunch on our way home from Studland. Varied menu with lots of choice, staff were really friendly too. Dog friendly with a big garden.

Lovely food, a bit squashed in, but lovely atmosphere. Playground for the kids, total bonus.

Dropped in at 12.15 on off the chance of Sunday lunch on Easter Sunday! They had no bookings. There was only one table of 8 diners. Within the hour it was packed. My wife had chicken I had the roast beef, both really good portions and good quality. Good beer choice. Wonderful old pub. Good car park.

I found this pub as I was looking for the number 40 bus stop back to Poole from Corfe Castle. I had a 35 minute wait until I stopped in for a cup of tea and could not believe my luck. This place is as old as the rest of the village and authentic top to bottom. The tea was delicious and they served it in a sweet little ceramic pot. The staff was funny and so were the locals hanging out and chatting. One offered to take this picture of me as I roamed around like an obnoxious American taking pictures of the fireplaces and the beams and the floors and the furniture and the picnic tables out back. What a gem! They're about 1/4 mile out of the main village, but more than worth it.

Cannot actually rate the food. The atmosphere was so bad we left before ordering. Pub looks lovely when you walk in the main entrance, but then find the dilapidated and unloved back area of the pub which look in complete disrepair. The unsafe childrens play area. Area of random plastic kids toys all over the floor. The lady behind the bar looking like she was just done with life. No smiles or welcome. Just misery. No wonder the pub and gardens were empty

Fabulous in every respect, our (home cooked) meals were absolutely great and very reasonably priced, great selection of beers, and the owners and staff were lovely. After our really poor experience a few days earlier at a different establishment in the centre of Corfe (see my other reviews) this was just wonderful, in future we will not even consider going anywhere else in Corfe for food or drinks! Thank you 😁👍👍

First night in Corfe we thought we'd try the closest pub to our Airbnb. How lucky were we! Oozing rustic charm, it was exactly the atmosphere I want from a pub. Stone walls, a fire in the hearth and well kept ale. Food was good too; simple, plentiful and well cooked. The only time for two people to eat was 5.45pm which tells you everything. Just one minor niggle....why do they never give you enough custard. Would recommend.

Yelp
Now this is how you do roast dinners. When you're rambling around the Corfe area you have a choice of stop offs to rest your feet and I'm glad we chose here. We booked in advance as with most old places it's on the small side, but it does have a covered beer garden for warmer days. One reason this placed gets packed out is the locally sourced Sunday roast. The meat and the veg come from within 3 miles of the pub and the gravy comes straight from the stock pot making it a real taste of Dorset. It's also very generous in portion and price. Another selling point is the friendly husband and wife team running the show. They have a warm humour and great rapport which gives the pub its homely atmosphere. It does come with a dash of eccentricity. The low original ceiling was covered in multi-coloured fairy lights and that combined with the choral music playing made it feel like eternal Christmas. I'm not complaining. I love Christmas! I'll definitely be back to taste the rest of the menu. Well not all of it at the same time, but there was certainly a Steak & Ale Pie with my name on it.
