Nate and Jessica were extremely welcoming hosts and made us feel right at home. The castle itself was absolutely stunning and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was absolutely beautiful and we loved the amazing shower! The ducks were so cute, and we loved watching the bees drink out of the fountain. There were lots of nooks to explore, and on top of that, it was very walkable to all of our weekend activities. Would 100% stay here again!

While this was more of an airbnb than a traditional B and B we loved it!! Close walk to restaurants and easy to park. The ducks were adorable, the garden was beautiful, our room was comfortable and the balcony was amazing. Our room was so quiet we forgot we were in the city! While we only ran into the host briefly she did give us some good information but we made ourselves at home and enjoyed a nice bottle of wine. Would recommend this to friends. I would however avoid the 7/11 on the corner.

It has been my great joy to have been a guest in several elegant and well tended bed and breakfasts. This is not one of them. This experience was to be a special one and between the sexy website and the silver tongued staff (on the telephone) my hopes were high. Suffice it to say that shortly after arriving I decided that was leaving and not staying for even one night. I informed the Innkeeper via text that I would not be staying and suggested that we could discuss the issues the following morning. Beginning the next morning, my telephone and text attempts to reach the Innkeeper were ignored and no return call or text was received. That is until I suggested that I was going to contact my bank to stop payment on my credit card. I then received a text restating the cancelation policy. A refund for all but one night was subsequently processed. There was no effort made to ascertain why I was dissatisfied and no apology was offered. The silver tongues were all silent. Needless to say, I will never return to Castle Marne and I would suggest that the buyer beware. I will also offer that there are far superior accommodations which exceeded this traveler's expectations.

I was impressed with my entire experience staying here. The charm of staying in an authentic castle was nicely balanced with several modern amenities and thoughtful touches. The bathroom in the suite I stayed in had been updated fully, and even had a lovely rain shower with scents. It also had a sweet turret nook and beautiful antique furniture. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the location was walkable to several excellent restaurants, which made it very convenient. Every detail was thought of, and the ownership was very professional, responsive and warm. Lovely stay. I will definitely go back myself and highly recommend to anyone who loves the charm of a beautiful castle combined with the comforts and conveniences of modern day life.

Step into another time & era of luxurious peace, quiet and upgraded amenities. The attention to details and guest comfort is top notch - from furnishings to the quality of beds, pillows, linens, towels and super cleanliness. The experience is one of royal accommodations. The location off the main drag but within walking distance to bars, restaurants, parks, transportation expands the Castle experience. The hosts/owners are accessible and available to address needs, provide recommendations and to assure your experience is wonderfully stress free. I highly recommend - without any clarifications nor cautions - this wonderful gem of a place to stay. Come and experience the various suites & rooms to stay in as they each offer their own unique flavors and fun.

Google
Stayed here to visit family and it was the perfect central location, very cool eclectic decor, comfortable beds, and very quiet! Woke up to the sunlight streaming into the room and enjoyed the breakfast snacks and well-stocked drinks fridge. Appreciated the clear and welcoming email instructions to access the room as we arrived very late to the castle. It felt like staying with a friend, would definitely book again when we’re in Denver in the future.

We stayed two nights for a Valentine’s Day getaway. We never met the hosts, as this appears to be a self service accommodation. The website calls itself a a bed and breakfast but the only thing available was coffee and snacks. The house was quiet and the room comfortable enough although the Durango offers no place to sit. The bathroom was very nice, particularly the shower, although the shower head blew off while using. There was a massage room across the hall but no information about its use. During our stay there were used sheets strewn across the floor, so no one was coming in to clean that room up. The house has its charms but the experience felt impersonal.

My husband and I have stayed at Castle Marne many times over the years for numerous special occasions, and we were thrilled to see that it had reopened! The new ownership & updates were a pleasant surprise! As someone who tries to lead a non toxic lifestyle, I very much appreciate the use of non-toxic and sustainable products throughout the property. The little details are thoughtful, and the aromatherapy showers are the cherry on top! Thank you so much for having us! We look forward to celebrating more special occasions here in the future! :)

Yelp
Impeccable venue with wonderfully warm and attentive hosts. The king size bedroom was quiet, gorgeous and spacious. The bathroom was to die for! Booked this room for my brother who was visiting from out of town. A respite in the middle of Denver.

Yelp
A stay at the Castle Marne is a front row look into Denver's earliest history, and I felt at home here before I even walked through the front door. A fascinating blend of both historical and modern comforts, much of the original elements have been beautifully preserved (from original woodwork, to pictures of each room on the main floor as they were over 100 years ago, allowing you to virtually and instantly travel in time), while there have also been much appreciated upgrades to the kitchen and all of the bathrooms - which feature unforgettable aromatherapy shower heads - an amazing surprise! The kitchen was fully loaded with non-alcoholic drinks (including oat milk for non-dairy friends) and snacks. It's also perfectly situated just a mile from downtown Denver not far from Colfax, another classic historic Denver element that has everything you could want (and more) including trendy bars and restaurants, a major pharmacy, and interesting shops. Do not miss this Denver gem!

Yelp
I flew in from out of town to Denver with a group of girls for my best friend's bachelorette. I ended up hosting her Bridal Shower at Castle Marne, where we had a Tea Party / High Tea theme. I can't express how lovely the castle was both inside and out. The staff was very helpful with any questions my sister and I had while we were setting up. Unfortunately we were unable to use all of our decorations as the walls inside the castle are original so tape cannot be used (shame that we didn't know this before since the bride brought so much decor from out of state). In addition to the tea, there were several courses of food which was very good. I truly appreciate that they had vegan options. This was a perfect spot for my best friend's bridal shower, and I couldn't be happier with the result!!

Yelp
The venue itself is beautiful - gorgeous old house renovated into a B&B. But there are some significant issues with this place. One: rooms in the winter are either hot as hell (radiator on) or freezing cold (radiator off). There is no middle ground. We had bloody noses all night and woke up in sweaty pools. Should've chosen radiator off, whoops! (Note: "radiator off" requires a wrench. Should you not have one in your suitcase, you are SOL when you get back from dinner at 10pm and there's no staff in sight.) Two, and please read carefully: THERE IS NO HOT BREAKFAST. The website is misleading. Though it says that there's a hot breakfast - a "chef's choice" - and photos of steaming plates with eggs, pancakes, and stuffed tomatoes with cheese, it's just not true. Over the course of a weekend, Sat and Sun, breakfasts were nonexistent. Both morning there were a few mini-muffins and tiny store-bought bagels, a handful of bruised strawberries and unripe green bananas, and a box of cereal from Safeway. (See photos.) You must be joking. We could have, and should have, stayed in any of the other nice hotels in Denver for less $$$. Who knew that we were supposed to call and confirm that the website was true. I totally understand wanting to save money, but don't mislead your guests. Buyer beware. Three: cleaning staff knocks on your door at 8am on weekends. And enters when you don't respond. This is supposed to be a romantic retreat for couples and honeymooners, y'all. WARNING TO GUESTS: If you happen to be sleeping at 8am, or naked in bed, or engaged in other activities, be prepared for a SURPRISE when a stranger walks in on you! TAH DAAAAHHHHH!!!

Yelp
Castle Marne reminds me exactly of a castle home straight from Scotland. It is so beautiful inside and outside! Every detail has been preserved from the time it was built. I think one of the most beautiful features of the building is the large round stained glass window at the top of the staircase. I've never seen anything like it. We stayed in the Presidential Suite which we were told was the original master suite of the castle. It transported us back in time and we felt like a lord and lady of an estate. There was a sitting area in the room with windows that wrap around. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub with comfy bathrobes included. This is the kind of place that you go when you really want to treat yourselves. I've never been anywhere like it. The neighborhood it is in is super cool also. It has a lot of local restaurants and shops within walking distance. It was also very close to The Streets of London Pub where we played a show at that night. There is also a Denver staple diner right down the street called Pete's Diner that had been there since the 1940s. If you are visiting Denver or maybe just want a staycation and are tired of staying in boring chain hotels I would highly recommend staying here! This place is a gem in the city of Denver.

Yelp
This place is a pantheon of beauty. I had a chance to stay here last weekend with my girlfriend and it made for an absolutely gorgeous weekend. I was in town for business but since Denver is so close this place provided a nice working vacation to make my girlfriend the happiest she's been in a long time. I did have to tell her in advance we weren't getting engaged though because this place is so romantic I was worried she'd think it was a "pop the question" weekend. The staff here was super great. They had not only tons of knowledge about the local area but actually seemed to enjoy sharing it and talking to guests. The guy who cooks breakfast in the morning made not only one of the best breakfasts I've had at a B&B but had tons of great stories about the house and the neighborhood. The old guy made an awesome breakfast. It was vegetarian and I'm normally a huge meat eater but everything was so good it didn't even matter to me. And since everything was handmade and they checked on all dietary restrictions before we came in it worked with my girlfriends new diet from her nutritionist too. I've stayed at several B&B's over the years and this was hands down the best breakfast out of any of them! Each room has such a unique character and different amenities that could make each stay different. My only regret about my room was not selecting the Presidential Suit. I'd seen the price difference and didn't think it would be worth the extra but peaking my head in and grabbing pictures it would have been well worth it. By no means was the Lang room (my room) lacking. But the Presidential Room just had a major extra WOW in person. That'll be my choice next time for sure. Overall a great stay and a massive amount of respect to everyone who restored such a beautiful building and helped turn it into a memorable weekend for my girlfriend and I. #BAndB #BedAndBreakfast #Quaint #Castle #Romantic #GreatLocation

Yelp
You know those unbelievable old mansions you see every now and then in certain cities? And you wonder what they're like inside or who built them, if it's still the same or has it changed functions of fallen into disrepair, etc until you drive past the next one. This is your chance to explore one of them and the hosts are happy to share the history of both Denver and the castle! Lots of our local friends knew the house and were surprised to learn it was a bed and breakfast. (If I were local, I would make a point to stay.) It's like sleeping over in a museum time machine--which I can say is a dream of mine. Castle Marne is totally unique and delightful. It's an absolute treasure and it owes everything to the Peiker family, who have been operating the b&b for the last 30 years and who restored the entire house and property--there's a photo album to prove it if you're still not impressed. Our group stayed in 2 rooms: The Tower and one downstairs whose name I already forgot. Both were beautifully decorated with detail and respect for the home's Victorian roots. The property is immaculately landscaped so every window had a great view and soft light filtered through large trees. The rooms were spotless and everyone had a little extra space. We learned The Tower was originally an open porch area for the third floor ballroom! Our second room was added in the 1930s and felt like it's own apartment--with a separate porch and entry door very convenient for people like myself who forget things and have to go back inside 3-4 times before actually leaving. Delicious, healthy breakfast is served in the dining room with the other guests. Our hosts made bread, muffins, and fresh jam from scratch!! They were happy to accommodate one vegan diet as well. I could keep going but all you need to know is THIS PLACE IS SPECIAL and I am so grateful for the opportunity to stay here! #badcopbadcop #castlemarne

Yelp
As a disclaimer I have not been lucky enough to be able to splurge and stay at Castle Marne. I did get to visit this B&B as part of Doors Open Denver. I've passed by this historic building many many times and was lucky to get the chance to snoop around inside. The inside is very nice, with pretty stained glassed windows. The B&B feels very cozy, good for a romantic getaway or some TLC stress-free "me" time. I got to meet the owners who were super nice rather than business minded people trying extremely hard to sell me a stay at the place.

Yelp
Just left the beautiful castle. Had such an amazing time celebrating our 2nd anniversary!! We checked in at around 4:00pm. We got a tour of the castle and received the key to our room. The "van cise". Which is such a great room with its own patio and private hot tub. 4:30pm was tea hour, two types of tea were available with delicious pastries and nuts. Everything on a silver platter which was a nice touch. 7:00pm was dinner, a 4 course candlelit dinner. (Very romantic) FYI bring your own alcohol, they will serve it to you. There is also a liquor store about 2 blocks away. We went downstairs at night and they had fluffy cookies and tea in case we wanted a late night snack. Breakfast was at 8:30am. The very berry jam was sooo good! Overall, what made this experience amazing was the hospitality, everyone went above and beyond our expectations! Thank you Jim, Melissa, Louie and Erin.

Yelp
Castle Marne is a treasure! My boyfriend and I live in Denver but decided to celebrate our birthdays with a staycation. We stayed in the Raymond Room, which is small but has a large balcony and a private hot tub, where we enjoyed an incredibly relaxing evening under the stars on a cold night. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was delicious! They served us an artichoke frittata with fruit and homemade bread. During breakfast the owner of the inn came in and told us the history of the castle, which was very cool. The parlor area is filled with beautiful antiques and historical photos that form the perfect setting for tea and cookies. All in all, I highly recommend Castle Marne to anyone looking for a unique place to stay in Denver!

Yelp
Extreme levels of gratitude for Castle Marne Bed & Breakfast in Denver, CO - on top of having the *most charming* building in the universe, the staff was wildly generous and the room was a jaw dropper. Highly recommend you give this place your business next time you're in Denver. Just bring back a bag of tiny muffins for me (they left some for me because they knew I was leaving so early the next morning )⁣

Yelp
Such a beautiful place. My boyfriend and I visited for one night while in Denver, and we had a great time. We reserved the Tower room, and they had about 5 journals filled with other visitors' previous experiences. Some of these dated all the way back to the early nineties! I have one complaint: the wonderful lady running the front desk advertised nighttime tea and cookies, but when we stopped in the living area (at around the hour she stated) for tea, there was none. I'm pretty sure there was tea originally, but it had not been restocked. So we tried the Keurig, but it was broken. :( Otherwise, the staff was wonderful, and breakfast was delicious! I would definitely visit again.

Yelp
I know I tend to idealize/romanticize the past sometimes, and must do it once again now. So, back when Castle Marne was an apartment building, a friend/boyfriend of mine lived there briefly. Reasonable rent, reasonably cool boyfriend, and one awesome apartment. And now Castle Marne is a friendly, hospitable, and lush Bed & Breakfast. Comfortable and nicely furnished rooms, breakfasts fit for royalty, good tea, and reasonable prices. They do special events, as do most Bed & Breakfasts, and their yard areas seem like they would be perfect for weddings and such. I was here in the midst of a past deep snowy winter, so the entirety of the yard was not visible, but it still looked perfect for events! Mostly though, I still remember the nice comfortable room, the clean, dignified, and well-equipped bathroom, and the sincere kindness of the owner(s) who checked me in during a blizzard, late at night, when I was not able to drive home to Boulder and needed to stay somewhere near where my car got stuck. Happenstance; and what a fortunate accident of fate!!

Yelp
Came to this bed and breakfast on valentine's day, nice place with a historic feel. High tea in the afternoon was nice. The room was also good just wish the mattress had been a little newer but we loved the hot tub on our balcony and really enjoyed sipping wine and looking at the stars. In the morning the breakfast was just ok nothing special but the owner came in and introduced herself and told us some good stories about the castle we where staying in and was really gracious for our stay. Not sure if I will ever come back but it was definitely a very peaceful and relaxing stay.

Yelp
Castle Marne is a 130 year-old CASTLE in the middle of a vibrant Denver neighborhood, close to the Bluebird, many restaurants and cafes. It is a very small boutique property that is so special and singular, I've never stayed in a place like it. The hosts couldn't be nicer, they asked me if i wanted muffins set out for as i couldn't make breakfast. They were so nice to me!!! I stayed 2 nights in the Presidential suite and felt like a newly minted human after that!! THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!!
google avatar

Kristin L.

Yelp
Castle Marne is such a hidden treasure. It's right off of Colfax so you think it'd be loud but no, it's like it's on it's own island. The parking is always easy-every time I came back I was able to park DIRECTLY in front of the building! The staff is super helpful with neighborhood recommendations and you can tell they truly care about you having a quality experience. Sadly I slept through breakfast but I'm sure it was great. I stayed in the Tower room with two huge beautiful beds and tons of natural light. I'd come back in a heartbeat!

Yelp
Historical Castle Marne is the definition of the term hygge. Every moment of our stay was a delight, from Melissa and Louie greeting us when we arrived, to the hot tea and freshly baked cookies awaiting us in the drawing room every evening. Our luxuriously large bedroom provided the perfect retreat with the most comfortable bed and lovely antiques. The beautiful gourmet breakfast was freshly cooked, prepared and served by chef Jim every morning for each guest and felt decadent to say the least. If you want to feel cozy, loved and treated like royalty in the heart of Denver, then castle Marne is the place for you!

Yelp
My wife and I stayed 2 nights here for our anniversary. Loved the place, so elegant, had a hot tub with our room, which my wife couldn't use because she just found out she was pregnant. The food was fantastic.
google avatar

Natalie P.

Yelp
Castle Marne is such a wonderful experience. They treat you like royalty. The rooms are each quite different, but packed with history. Jim, the elderly statesman of the Castle, is happy to offer history on the Green Man and other important details of the architecture and function of the landmark. And it was the first green inn in Denver! Powered by solar & wind, with grey water reclamation (in a state that is powered 75% by fossil fuels). This is a B&B to cherish and return to.

Yelp
Great place, great service. Stayed here for a night to attend a ball downtown and had a great time in our private hot tub and having breakfast with some other visitors the next morning. Also, my girlfriend was saved from a hair malfunction by one of and very nice women working there who produced a hair tie for her when her styling fell apart at the last minute. Lastly, was given a brief but interesting folk history lesson on the neighborhood by the gentleman working the desk while waiting for our car service. All in all a great night!

Yelp
Staying at the Castle Marne couldn't have worked out any better. On the road, I'm one that loves privacy. Staying in the "Lodge" was perfect. It's your own 2 level apartment (just across the street). I believe it was a carriage house. Now, it's an incredibly decorated, comfortable and quiet place to stay. The downstairs has an up to date kitchen with so much more than you need, though the Keurig got a workout (I'd been traveling a lot). The living room is also on the first floor. It's such an interesting mix of rustic, comfortable and modern. I don't describe things well, but it's really cool. Great set up to watch tv or slide a tray around to pretend to work while watching tv. Upstairs is the bedroom with two large beds (think their queen) and a desk. Got a great night of sleep. Everything in the Lodge is done right. I even noticed the quality of the sheets and towels, which is saying something because I never do. It was so comfortable, I missed the daily social in the main building (fell asleep...like I said, lots of travel). The great thing about having your own place is you still get to enjoy the perks of being in a B&B. Breakfast the next morning was terrific. Jim, one of the owners, takes care of you. Everything is fresh and he really knows what he's doing (ate much more than I normally do). On top of all of this, the location was terrific, 10 minutes to my job by Coors Field. The most impressive thing about Castle Marne is the staff. Jim, Louie and I laughed through breakfast (I probably held them up from the work they had to do that morning). Genuinely warm, caring people who were so much fun. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed Castle Marne and that was only with a one night stay. I look forward to coming back when I return to Denver. Really a gem.

Yelp
Wonderful service, location, and accommodations. Beautiful inside and out! I want to stay here every time I come to Denver.

Yelp
Great staff, great location and a charming home. It was worth staying there to listen to the owner tell us the history of the house, the neighborhood and Denver. My wife and I felt very safe walking the area even though the location is near Colfax Avenue. The location is perfect since there are so many restaurants within a few blocks on Colfax and 17th Avenue. Plus, the buses to downtown run on the same routes. We stayed there for two days during a very cold and snowy weekend and the house was very warm and comfortable. We felt very much a guest in a family home. We normally stay at the Brown Place when visiting family in Denver - we will be replacing our Place for a Castle.

Yelp
We stayed here as we celebrated our 2 year anniversary and we were very happy about our choice. The staff was extremely helpful, attentive, and friendly. I love that Jim and his wife are high school sweethearts and still in love after 62 years being together. The staff made us feel really welcomed and that's important. The old architecture and details to the castle were beautiful and intriguing. We stayed in the presidential room which was very spacious and I loved the old feel to it compared to a modern hotel. I also loved the jacuzzi tub after wondering around the town on a cold night. The breakfast was delicious and the main room always had hot tea, coffee, pastries, and home made cookies available. We enjoyed having breakfast and speaking to other guests staying there while we ate. There's also local restaurants and bars a block away that we walked to and enjoyed. We walked to a bar called Thin Man's and enjoyed our bartender Tyrone. Our flight left late at night way past check out time and the staff kindly stored our bags and allowed us us to pick them up later. Melissa even served me tea for the rode. It was lovely! I'd definitely recommend. I'm a emergency first responder and they discount 20% off your stay to show their appreciation which is great! I genuinely do not have one bad thing to say.

Yelp
What a beautiful place with so much history! The hospitality here was superb, we were well taken care of. We stayed in the "Lodge" which is a separate building across the street. Plenty of room for a whole family, or group of friends to stretch out in. Convenient location for exploring different areas of Denver. Very close to the Denver zoo and botanic gardens. I enjoyed drinking coffee and reading in the main parlor of the castle, and the fresh baked cookies in the afternoon are a real treat. This place is a true gem.

Yelp
Best place I've stayed in Denver, and probably best place I've stayed anywhere else. This bed and breakfast is great! My girlfriend and I came here because she loves old buildings and with this building being built in 19th century, it certainly qualifies. It's perfect for a romantic weekend in Denver. We had the Presidential suite which has a great reading nook, a private balcony for warm weather, a jacuzzi, king sized bed and separate bathroom. A lot of the furniture reflects how the building appeared when it was first built. Inside the room are a pamphlet describing the history of the building and a binder describing Denver's history. Reading over Denver's history was neat just days before its sesquicentennial. As for other areas of the house, there's a great parlor where they serve tea and cookies - fantastic cookies by the way. It's a great place to sit and meet other guests. There was a player piano downstairs which was a lot of fun to play around with. The owner personally showed us how to set it up and "play" it and then even treated us to sing along. If the rest of the rooms are open, go explore them too. There are some neat finds around the house. I mentioned the free tea and cookies earlier, which were delicious, but breakfast was even better. It was an egg-based family recipe that everyone really enjoyed. The husband-and-wife owners are great people. They were very nice, very helpful, and very informative. The husband seems like he'd be a fun grandpa. Cool fact: The dining room is listed in the national registry of historic places, so if the owners want to do any changes to the dining room, it takes an act of Congress to allow the change. If you want to go to a romantic bed and breakfast in Denver, you cannot go wrong with Castle Marne.
google avatar

Larissa P.

Yelp
Can you really call it a Bed and Breakfast if it only offers a bed...and NO breakfast? I was also sorely disappointed that there are no in-room televisions or small refrigerators, either. For the prices they charge...
google avatar

Yelp
Castle Marne is a culturally institution here in Denver. This castle is loaded with historical importance and the owners know all about it! The humble beginnings of the most recent incarnation of Castle Marne are seriously a testament to the hard work and dedication of Melissa and Louie. Not only that, but Castle Marne affords so many options for visitors coming from anywhere...including here in Denver. I would really recommend coming through to take a tour of the grounds and the newly unveiled Lodge at Castle Marne. The castle (and yes it is registered and qualifies as an ACTUAL CASTLE) is a perfect destination for tea time, an overnight stay, extended stays, and a historical stop to see iconic architecture. Good stuff here.

Yelp
The Lodge at Castle Marne in Denver is a worthy destination in and of itself. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and truly felt at 'home,' for the first time in two weeks on the road. The first floor living area was clean comfortable and decorated with a unique, well thought out flair, somewhere between mountain cabin and chic. There were fresh cookies waiting for us in the jar and games including Monopoly and giant Yahtzee. It was well stocked with water bottles and even condiments, which we had forgotten. Our kids were fascinated by the gas fire place which had multiple settings. Upstairs, the two beds were very comfortable and the skis and snowshoes on the wall gave it a mountain feel. The location was perfect, with much do in walking distance. We found an outdoor public bouldering rock at the recreation building just down the street where our son would have been happy to spend the evening (once he had been dragged out of the lodge). Breakfast was excellent, and our hosts were very friendly and helpful. They were knowledgeable of the wide range of local restaurants. We enjoyed broccoli quiche, fresh fruit, blueberry preserves and some dynamite coffee. Our kids were served some excellent scrambled eggs, which was a very much appreciated consideration. In fact, while the Castle Marne is clearly a top notch romantic destination, the staff was very accommodating to us as a full family. I would highly recommend staying at the Lodge at Castle Marne for families visiting the Denver area and hope one day to return for a couples get away with my wife.

Yelp
Disappointed. The good: gregarious staff, homemade pastries, rich history, nicely decorated, communal breakfast, free parking. The bad: it's worn down, historic and old does not have to mean dowdy (paint chipping off, dead flowers in planters, corners of floors questionable), no a/c meant a miserable night even with windows open, toiletries are 2nd class, computer to get boarding passes is truly archaic, and although the parties were good, they were the only remarkable part of breakfast, linens so-so. I was expecting more. Have stayed at better B & B in Denver that were better. I thought Marne was the best. YMMV.

Karen W.

Yelp
I'm generally not big on b&bs but I felt Comfortable here. Not intrusive, relaxed, gorgeous, well located and sweet. Breakfast was good as well as the conversation. The family is wonderful. I was going to take the train back to the airport but one family member insisted on driving me. That was way beyond the call of duty. Very different experience from staying at a hotel.

Amy M.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful. Everything was so elegant and tastefully done. When we arrived they had the setting room all set up for tea time with a variety of teas and homemade treats. Our room so very home like and the beds were very comfortable. In the morning we had an amazing breakfast everything was homemade, signature items, organic French press coffee, and three choices of juice all served on beautiful dishes with top notch service. I felt like royalty during my stay there. I highly recommend checking this B&B out if your in Denver and looking for a relaxing get away.

Yelp
It's a beautiful building. Good place to stay. Location is perfect. Parking was a pain. Breakfast needs a secondary option at the very least. We didn't eat ours.

Yelp
We had a absolutely wonderful stay at Castle Marne. When we arrived, we were greeted by the owners and the innkeeper and they were so kind and quick to get us settled. It was around 4pm, so it was tea time in the main parlor. Such a charming touch to have little snack and hot tea/coffee everyday for the guests. We had a large party in our group, so we stayed at The Lodge. It's directly across the quiet street. The Innkeeper took us over and showed us everything about the space. They even brought over hot tea and delicious macaroons for us. The lodge was so cozy and perfect for us. The beds were AMAZING. It's very spacious and perfect for a larger group of people traveling together. Full sided kitchen and great bathroom. The neighborhood was SO cute. We walked down to City Park, and on the way back we stopped a St Marks Coffee (which was great too). There's a lot to do in this neighborhood - you're walking distance from a lot of great food and bars. On the day of departure, we had breakfast in the main house, and I'm so glad we did because the food was excellent and the company was even better. It's really fun to meet fellow travelers and share stories together over a good meal. Overall, we loved our stay at Castle Marne. We cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
Well this incredible place has now wrecked my future lodging experiences, as I can't imagine Any other stacking up against it. Walking into the 2 story lodge room, it was like visiting the aftermath of a luxurious remodel on HGTV. Rustic, but with some beautiful industrial elements thrown in, the place walked right out of the pages of ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST. Truth be told I'm not a big bed and breakfast fan, but the castle Marne has made me rethink my past biases against them. During the 5 star breakfast (the muffins and quiche were perfect) 1 of the owners, Louie, gave us a history of the building and after eating offered up a tour, which included a wonderful story about the antique turntable, playing the record of one of the Marnes favorite guests, Tiny Tim, gave as a gift...Tiptoe thru the Tulips. This will now be my only consideration for lodging in Denver. What an amazing place!

Yelp
My fiancee and I agree that Castle Marne is by far the best B&B (or lodging in general) that we have every stayed in. The historical building is breathtaking, both outside and inside. A lot of love was put into keeping it gorgeous. The staff are lovely and go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable and feel welcome. The breakfast food we had was delicious, and they happily made accommodations for me (vegetarian and gluten free). One of the little touches my fiancee and I still talk about is the tea and homemade cookies they put out every evening. If we ever return to Denver, we will not even consider staying anywhere else! I seriously can't say enough wonderful things about this B&B!

Yelp
Awesome place. My wife and I enjoyed spending our time here. We loved the historic building, the well-decorated room, and all the attention to detail on the property. The food was delicious, and the staff made every effort to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. We really enjoyed the renovation photos, too. That was really fun to see all the hard work they put into restoring this wonderful property.

Yelp
This Bed and Breakfast is located in a really cool neighborhood in Denver with bars and shops within walking distance. I stayed in my own building right across the street from the castle looking main building, which was decorated for Christmas...a very nice touch. It felt like being at home inside. Then I stepped outside into Denver. I loved the decorating. It felt a little like being in a ski lodge. The staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The cookies and muffins were a great touch, as well. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g33388-d74443-r546841682-Castle_Marne_Bed_Breakfast-Denver_Colorado.html#

Yelp
My wife and I had a most enjoyable night stay at the Castle. Melissa and the staff were very personable and completely focused on our well being. The room was great and the breakfast was outstanding. I would heartily recommend the Castle Marne to those looking for a B&B in the Denver area.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful location and the most sweet and kind staff and owners. We were treated like family. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast/food is amazing! They care about the community and offered Veterans a free stay as a thank you for our service. We will definitely go back and would recommend this as a must stay stop in Denver!

Yelp
My husband (Ryan) and I eloped in Denver and could not have chosen a better place to take care of all the details! We were immediately upgraded to a different room, which was quite a surprise. Our day consisted of a brief but beautifully crafted ceremony, followed by a private candlelit dinner, complete with our own wedding cake from the talented folks at Mulberries Cake Shop. Melissa and Louie treated us like kings and made us feel like family...we cannot wait to find ourselves at Castle Marne again!

Yelp
Loved this place. It is truly a beautiful space - as the pictures show, but the hospitality is outstanding. The breakfast was great every day, and I loved having my own hot tub and table and chairs on the balcony to enjoy the lovely weather. Highly recommended.

Yelp
The best! My husband and I were married there, and not only were they accommodating, they made us feel like family. If 6 stars were an option I'd want to give 16. Thank you, again!

Yelp
The only reason I give it a four out of five is because the room was a little small--but that shouldn't deter anyone from staying here. The owners are so sweet (their little girl actually checked us in--it was so cute!) and welcoming. It was awesome to have the hot tub out on the balcony. Even though it was in the middle of downtown Denver and could have been completely submerged in the noises and chaos of sirens and traffic, it isn't at all. It was one of the most relaxing weekends I have ever had with my fiance. I have never slept so well or felt so relaxed, and it was a five minute drive from our apartment. Got the stay from my parents for my birthday and I would go back any time. Having breakfast with a bunch of strangers seemed scary at first, but it was honestly so much fun to get to know people and just enjoy the company of others. The food was good and the company was amazing. Also, getting to write in one of the many books left in the room was so sweet and endearing. Sat there reading over past notes with my fiance for quite a while (DO IT! You will cry!) Whether you live in Colorado or anywhere else, stopping through on a road trip, stay at Castle Marne, even if it is for only one night. You will never know a more peaceful sleep, and greater company.

Yelp
This is the most desirable bed and breakfast that I ever been to in my life. It is absolutely amazing. With a complimentary early meal that was just deliciously homemade from scratch including homemade muffins, jellies, jams, orange and cranberry juice, coffee, and a lovely arrangement of fruits topped by edible flowers. The place is run by a family who lives nearby and comes over to offer plenty of fun places to visit and the best way to drive there. Inside is comparable to a museum in that it has sets of teacups and teapots, floral patterned couches, antiques of sterling silver, newspapers from all over the town, wooden cabinets filled with china, a piano, and photographs of family. When you come in, it's almost like you are inside a dollhouse and you're about to have tea. Just memorable! I will never forget this visit as long as I live. I never felt more invited in my life. They offered water as I came in unused to the altitude of Denver air. I was floored by the intricate assortment of wooden furniture and cushioned chairs and the design of the walls and choice of the flowers in their garden. In addition, they have a hot tub in your room(well my room did have one), so I got to see the stars in warm 95 degree warmness as the temperature drops off at night. I love the view outside. It was just a grand time!

Yelp
Absolutely phenomenal. My husband surprised me with a getaway to the castle, so I wasn't expecting it. I recommend ANYONE to stay here. The customer service is second to none. Started out with a detailed tour of the whole castle and concierge service to make us dinner reservations, then we had tea twice the first night and everything was so elegantly laid out. The whole castle is immaculate; Not a detail out of place and everything dusted. The bathroom had a claw foot tub that was original to the castle that was a classy touch. Very private and romantic with your own hot tub on the (almost) rooftop patio! Breakfast in the morning was splendid. A home cooked meal from the owner's father (first generation owner) and served to us on an oval dining table with fine China and anything you could ask for. It's the details, like pulling out a chair for me to sit and setting the napkin in my lap for me, that are the things you can't get anywhere else. Worth every penny!

Yelp
Bed and Breakfasts aren't really my thing and this was my first experience. I did think that this was an excellent Bed and Breakfast. The owner is lovely. The food was amazing. The decor is certainly unique and interesting. Each room is fashioned in a different way and has a different name. Everything was very clean and well kept up. The garden area was a delight. I have a slight awkward feeling socializing first thing in the morning with random strangers so I'm used to more of the hotel stays in different cities but if you like meeting new people and bed and breakfasts are your thing, you'll really love this place!

Yelp
We spent a long weekend here a few weeks ago. the staff was great the room was just OK. There was no A/C and no TV in the room or the hotel. We were not real impressed with the breakfast the first day(quiche) and we were ready for something differant the second day. But we got quiche again, we then skipped the last days breakfast and went into town to get something else. The staf was very nice and helped with directions and history of Denver. The stay was overall OK but after a long day shoping and walking around town a little A/C would have been nice. The downstairs of the house was a little over stuffed and you only have access to two rooms. All and All OK but for the price I paid I expected a few more amenities. Denver as a city was great.

Yelp
Hospitality is an art form here. Never have we felt so pampered, cared for and all in a magical little Victorian retreat surrounded by gardens. Downtown, theater music, all within walking distance- park your car and start exploring some of the best has to offer: botanical gardens just to the north, downtown and theater district to the west, really wonderful historic neighborhood and buildings all around. This place is the best, the owners are delightful, and the staff was terrific. We will be back.
