The Catch is a fast n cheap fish n chip joint. A no frills, pay for extra sauce kind of place. I swapped $13 NZD for a bit of fish, fries and tarter sauce, had it in hand in under five minutes, then tossed some chicken salt on the fries, walked 30 meters to the beach, and ate it all to the greedy envy of a large assortment of beach birds. No need to get into details here, the fish and fries were piping hot, crispy and tasty. This is not award winning fare but also doesn't pretend to be. Temper your expectations and you'll enjoy it even more. I'd go tease the birds a second time.

Had beef burger and fish and chips between 4 of us. All was very nice. Too many chips for us but thoroughly recommend the food. Quick too as we ordered online first.

Came here on Christmas Eve as it was one of two places that was only open in Wanaka. The line was long, but once we ordered, it only took about 15 minutes. We were lucky to get a table outside. It all tasted delicious! The gurnard was perfect.

Fish and chips were okay. Servings were good. The only problem we had was the chicken tenders were quite burnt and tasted bitter like the oil used hasnt been changed for years. Only a few tables. Best to eat it by the lake

Looked really appetising and i really wanted to enjoy this because staff was really friendly but unfortunately my fish was not cooked properly as I bit into raw batter. The calamari rings were a solid 5/5, chips were 3/5 portion was good, blue cod was 1/5: bones and uncooked batter and it was still a bit cold in the middle (idk like didnt taste hot like the rest of it), crab stick (not pictured) was burnt (2/5) . Again, I really wanted to enjoy this place because the staff was so nice but it did make my partner and i’s stomach unwell for the rest of the day

Great fish and chips, quick service. Really weird to be charged 80 cents for the smallest sauce in the world.

Good taste and fair portions, these are positive things about this take out. Prices ain’t bad either. They offer daily deals (mostly fish and chips with some side salad). Wait time is as usual. There’s some dining area just outside the shop, otherwise head towards lakeside.

I ordered a Blue Cod and a Fried chicken + chips. So my review is based on these 2 items I ordered. Paid $11.90 for 2 small pieces of blue cod, it was thinly battered and crispy. Nice. The fried chicken is slightly over-fried, but it taste crispy and nice too. The chips are nice. Overall, I recommend this place for fresh and tasty fish & chips.
