We had a really huge room with a terrace but the double bed was quite small even though the room could have taken a proper SK or King bed. Everything was spotlessly clean. The very warm welcome at reception, in the bar and the dining room really made our stay one to remember for all the right reasons. The hotel location also gave us free access to the Causeway out of hours and a beautiful evening sunset over the water. Thank you.

Lovely hotel, the views are stunning. Room was spacious, with the largest bathroom we had the entire trip. Heat was a bit much at night but otherwise we were comfortable. Dinner was delicious, I had the salmon, friend had the curry. They have a good selection of whiskeys as well in their bar (try the JJ Corry, it’s divine). Breakfast was also excellent. The kitchen staff also filled our water bottles for our hike out from the Causeway, and overall the staff were pleasant and helpful.

We stayed in room 28 for 2 nights on Sept. 11 and 12, 2025. The hotel is located next to the GC visitor center and is a 20 min. walk to the GC.|The main reason to stay here is it's location. You can get to the GC before and after the tour buses, and visit it as many times as you like. The views from the hotel are a strong second reason.|We thought the staff were some of the nicest people we have encountered at the hotel.|Our stay included breakfast and entry to the visitor center.|When you drive to the hotel, expect to be stopped and quizzed to make sure you are really staying there, parking at the hotel is limited and day trippers are not supposed to park there and the security people make sure they don't.|Check in and out is at the first set of doors you see, the same entry as the restaurant, at the desk to the right after you enter the hotel.|Room 28 is on the second floor and at the end of the hotel, it has a patio and great view of the ocean and surrounding area.|Expect a decent walk and several sets of stairs to get to the room.|The room is a triple with one single and one double bed. It is good sized, with 2 arm chairs, a wardrobe , large table and a small private bathroom/toilet area. There is a tea kettle and Nesspresso machine with an assortment of teas and coffees. The internet was fine for emails and surfing the web.|The room was clean and quiet. The beds and pillows were reasonable comfortable. The room needed refurbishment ( worn carpet, hole in the inside of the bathroom door, some areas in need of patching/painting on the walls and ceiling). It was functional but not what you would expect for $390 US/270 pounds a night. Basically, you pay a premium for the location. The hallways and public areas are also in need of TLC and refurbishment.|The restaurant has very good food and the breakfast was one of the best we have had.|If you are from the USA, note there are switches on the electrical wall outlets that you need to turn on for them to work, |The hotel is worth staying at, if you want to visit the GC with no crowds and several times. Room 28, has a great view that makes up for the trek to the room from the lobby.

Overall, a very good experience. Check-in was fairly quick - even though only one person was handling all check-ins. The Parking Lot attendant automatically assumed that we were just looking to park in the (hotel) parking lot for Giant's Causeway - which I'm sure many people, who are not actually staying at the hotel, try and do. She spent a minute and a half telling me about other options and what to do, until I was able to get a few words in - "We are guests at the hotel." The exterior of the hotel looks quite nice. And the location is prime to see Giant's Causeway. The interior, mainly hotel halls and staircases (no Lifts/Elevators) are definitely in need of a few things. New carpet (Many stains.) And creaky/slanted staircases. The room was very clean and some nice amenities. Espresso maker, for one, with pods. And our room was adjacent to a walking path, which was close to some beautiful scenery. And no..."Walkers/Hikers were not an issue at all. And a nice, outdoor, terrace with a couple of chairs and table. The room was quiet, too - fairly well insulated. The Shower/Bath was (literally) a big step up. For older adults, this could be a bit of a safety issue. The only real miss, and it was a big one in my book, was dinner at the hotel. Slow service is an understatement. And the glassware for the beer pours. When you're in Ireland, wanting a Guinness or a Smithwick's, these are not how your pints of beer should look. Very dirty glasses - see attached pics. The food was good, though.

Staying at the Hotel Causeway was the perfect way to maximize a visit to the stunning Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland. The rooms were very comfortable and the hotel staff friendly and helpful. The restaurant served a delicious meal and the grounds were spectacular. We enjoyed a morning walk along the coast overlooking the cliffs.

Google
Great hotel right next to Giants Causeway. The staff were excellent. If you can, book a sea view terrace room. Lovely peaceful views from your terrace. Nice to sit and have a drink after a day of walking. Food and drink in the restaurant were really good.

Google
Location is excellent and the staff are fantastic. We stayed one night to visit Giants causeway - entrance to the visitor centre is at the doorstep of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent and service was good. The stay was on B+B basis and was good value for money. The hotel is a bit dated and could do with some updating particularly in the rooms. But overall experience was very good.

Beautiful hotel. Super friendly staff. Great breakfast options to cater for all diets. Stones throw from the causeway. We booked one night but decided to stay for 2 and we were able to stay in the same room. No hassle whatsoever. It felt like home from home and we will definitely be back.

Yelp
Where to start... first I must say my wife and I scored some real swag [sorry, I couldn't find a better word] with our three adult kids when we brought them here. As we stepped into our 2nd story room our son walked in from the back door. How is this? Well, as you walk out of your "balcony" door you step onto the lawns and trails that overlook the cliffs and the Giant Causeway. There is nothing I can write or pictures I can show to express the beautiful views and the looks on our kids faces. We went down one of the trails [away from the Giants Causeway] before dinner knowing that the next morning we had a reservation to go down the trail to the Giant Causeway rock formations. Dinner was fantastic and the service was great. We had a very reasonably priced bottle of wine and the kids had some beers and/or cocktails. The following morning we enjoyed the breakfast just as much; they also offered some Continental Breakfast items like croissants, Danishes and cereals. The receptions helped set up our appointment with Giant's Causeway visit center next door. She and all the employees we encountered were all very nice, friendly and professional.

Yelp
Great view great service, magical day made better by our lunch. Food was perfect, had a delicious salad and shared the rest with my family.

Yelp
Only grabbed lunch here, but just have to tell the world how amazing the onion rings that came with my meal were. They were the best onion rings I've ever had in my entire life. Idk what the secret is, but wow! The rest of my lunch was also quite tasty! I ordered a chicken dish and it did not disappoint. The servers and staff were also quite friendly. Pro tip: unless you pay to visit the visitors center at the causeway, you can't go in to the causeway gift shop. So if you need to purchase a bottled water before/after you go to the causeway, you can do so here by asking the person at the entrance.

Yelp
This hotel only offers 28 rooms so make sure to book your reservation in advance. It's a great location for those wanting to spend a few days enjoying the North Coast of Ireland. At the time of our visit being a quest allowed for free entry into the Giant's Causeway. Parking is free and each room comes with a private patio. The hotel is quaint and nicely updated. The view is a strong reason to stay. The Atlantic Ocean looks magnificent no matter what time of time it is. You will have the opportunity to unwind and relax in this lovely setting. The restaurant on property is outstanding. Call for a reservation because they are very popular and extremely busy. The bar is very comfortable and set up for a long visit.

Yelp
My sister and I stopped in here while we waited to meet up with our tour bus. It was a delightful experience. We went into the bar area for some hot chocolate and scones. The scones were sooooo good. The hot chocolate wasn't great but the scone made up for it! The staff was very professional and friendly...and the accents were a plus. After we hung out in the bar for an hour or so, we went into the big dining area for lunch. They had whole buffet spread for visitors. It was incredibly delicious and filling, lasting our stomachs until like 9 pm. They definitely don't short you on food! The atmosphere was soothing and classy. It has an upscale feel but dress code was very casual. It is for tourists to come and eat so that's what I expected anyway. There is a parking lot for visitors and people staying in the hotel. It is VERY busy because it's a big tourist attraction. We had a wonderful experience here and will definitely return.

Yelp
The location and service at this hotel were wonderful! My husband and I are on our honeymoon and both vegan and they went out of their way to try to make our stay special. The dinner was exceptionally well made and their veg soup and chunky chips for lunch were lovely. They were very kind and helpful and it is literally steps away from the Giant's Causeway! You save the cost of parking for the park and gain access 24/7. We went down around sun up and had the entire park to ourselves. It is a stunning national monument and world wonder and the Causeway Hotel made it so comfortable and convenient to visit. It also happens to be extremely close to The Dark Hedges (~15 minute drive) and Bushmills Distillery (~5 minute drive) so it makes a great home base for exploring. We will be back on our next visit to Ireland, for sure.

Yelp
Our stay at the hotel was lovely and very homey. We arrived at 7 and we were able to make the 7:30 dinner seating. We got a drink in the lounge beforehand. We drove straight from Belfast Int. Airport in just over an hour. This was our favorite hotel in a 15 night trip we had. It felt like we were in our own house. Breakfast was included and both our meals were fantastic. Highly suggest this place! I thought it would be "touristy" but it was perfect. The rooms are renovated very nicely. This is the closest parking lot you can get to the Giants Causeway. Tourist buses start showing up at 9. So we woke up early for an 8am breakfast and walked out to the stones before the crowds.

Yelp
Been to this hotel quite a few times in the past but not for several years. Was there on Saturday for a wedding and it was lovely. Attention to detail was excellant, the room the service was in was lovely and very intimate. The bar was very cosy and the staff throughout the hotel were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The food we had was gorgeous, lovely canapés and a delicious 3 course meal. We had chicken caeser salad to start, roast beef and all the trimmings for main and a trio of desserts. All the food was of a high standard and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Yelp
I have only been here once and it was for a wedding. The hotel was lovely, like a sort of old fashioned country house. The wedding ceremony room was set up and dressed beautifully as was the dining room. The bar area is lovely, comfortable and very relaxing. The staff were amazing, everyone was extremely friendly, helpful and attentive making sure we were all well looked after.

Yelp
Stayed the night here before going to see the Causeway in the morning, and I'm so glad we did. The room was reasonably priced and clean, and the entrance fees for the two of us along with hot, made to order breakfast the next morning was included in the cost. I'm assuming it's because the National Trust manages/owns the hotel as well as the visitors center. We had dinner in the hotel since there was not much else around, which was also reasonably priced and the portions were large. Two mains and four drinks came out to about 49 euro. Vibe was very old timey and cozy- very elegant.

Yelp
Food/Cost: (4) I came here with my traveling companion before heading down to see the Giant's Causeway. I ordered the Guinness Pie with a side of salad (8.95 pounds). Oh my goodness, the portion was HUGE. It was a large plateful of their guinness steak stew sandwiched in the middle of two pieces of puff pastry. It also came with a side plate of an assortment of side salads such as the traditional lettuce salad, a pasta salad, potato salad, and cole slaw. I don't know how I got that much food for such a low price. All the items on the side plate was refreshing and delightful -- particularly the creamy coleslaw and potato salad. The Guinness beef stew was decent, but could have used a tad more flavor. The Causeway Hotel has the upper hand in this area as its one of two establishments that serve food; thus, I'm surprised how low the prices here are, but I'm definitely not complaining! Ambiance: (3) The bar/restaurant area that we sat in was comfortable enough. There was a large flat screen TV on the end wall, which offered some diversion as we awaited our food. The decor was nothing special. Location: (4) The Causeway Hotel is situated just above the walkway down to the Giant's Causeway; accordingly, it's in prime tourist location. Service: (2) The lady at the front window area was friendly enough, but the service staff in the actual restaurant is severely lacking. We spoke to our waitress twice throughout the entire meal. Once when she took our order, and then once when she brought our food. She was courteous enough, but we were left to our own devices and we even had to tell the cashier what we ordered ourselves because we didn't get any bill. I'm not sure if that's common in Ireland, but it left my friend and I a bit confused. Overall: (4) I would definitely recommend visitors to dine here before heading down to Giant's Causeway -- you'll need the energy for the walking. Good food, comfortable surroundings, and low prices -- you can't go wrong.

Yelp
We stayed for four nights, and our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. This hotel has a number of excellence awards to its name, and I can tell you, they are worthy of every single one. From the very start, we were greeted and given info on how to solve our rental car disaster. Cheryl the manager was extremely helpful and Ruby at reception was a lifesaver...especially when we lost our car keys. The entire cleaning staff helped us look for them. The cleaning crew...I have never seen a crew of more dedicated and thorough workers..Rosie and Claire went above and beyond helping us! We were served at breakfast by the highly efficient and personable Alice, who got the chef to make us the most wonderful scrambled eggs and cheese we've ever had. The food is incredible; we ate all our meals there, even though Bushmills is only two miles away. Our dinner servers were lively, efficient and prompt, plus they had lots of great ideas for things to do in the area. Alex, Naomi and Lucy took care of us the evenings we stayed, and they were all top-notch, as is the food itself. All the food was fresh and locally sourced. We especially enjoyed the Chicken Goujons, which might sound a bit on the plain side, but the way they made them, (fresh chicken, lightly breaded and crisp, with homemade sauces) were a perfect meal to end a day of climbing around the rocks at the Giants Causeway. Oh, and don't forget the batter dipped onion rings! Freshly made, beautifully done, just that little bit of snap to them. The breakfast is also accompanied by a continental buffet, a beautifully laid out selection of croissants, danish, fruit, cereal and yogurt. Of course, the views were priceless; we caught a gorgeous sunset or two, and the folks there will point out a trail that goes down to the Railway Station and the beach. We loved the area, and honestly would never think of staying anyplace else-can't wait to get back there!

Great hotel and even better pastries! Stop in and enjoy the cafe and the views while sitting in a part of the local history. A must while seeing giants causeway!

Yelp
What a disappointment. Despite having just been renovated, the layout and set-up is just awful. All of the rooms are on the first floor. We were near the back and had to get through what felt like a dozen sets of doors (which don't all open in the same direction) to get to our rooms. If you have heavy luggage, getting it up the stairs and then through all of the sets of doors is seriously irritating. There are also random lips and dips in the floor, making it inaccessible and stressful (as someone who tends to trip). Our bed was not comfortable. We got a double room and the twin mattress was nice but the double bed mattress seemed worn down or cheap. One of the drawer handles was broken in our room. The furniture generally seemed cheap and unattractive. NO WIFI IN THE ROOMS. This has to be one of the cheapest and weirdest things I have seen in hotels in Ireland. What?! If you want wifi, you need to be in a public area. The bathroom, however, was great! Beautifully decorated and nice looking toiletries supplied. What the heck? Bar staff were pleasant and nice. I had fallen walking back from Bushmills and they kindly got me a bag of ice for my ankle and knee. No Smithwicks on tap, which was a bit of a disappointment, though. I wouldn't bother staying here to be close to the Causeway. There are plenty of places in nearby towns and you can get a cab instead.

Yelp
A great place to stay and explore Giants Causeway (and everyone should visit the amazing Giants Causeway.) The room and bathroom was nice. The hotel is a little dated but spotless and just that perfect "British Old Hotel" vibe. We had requested a feather free room and arrived to find all feathers removed. However, we didn't notice that we didn't have a duvet until 11 pm when we were turning in. The manager and assistant manager arrived within minutes and made our beds themselves. Everyone was still apologizing the next morning for the mistake but we were impressed by the superior sevice. Dinner and breakfast were nice. The convenience of being able to take both evening and early morning walks on Giants Causeway after and before the crowds was wonderful. No need to move the car or park elsewhere. Also, I had noted that it was my daughter's birthday and we arrived in our room to find a beautiful plate of petit fours and desserts with a chocolate "Happy Birthday" written on it. Such a pleasant experience.

Yelp
Very nice food and service. Could do with a few more higher tables in the bar area to eat your food at. Other than that no complaints

Yelp
We were very much looking forward to a meal at the Causeway Hotel, having been here several times in the past. Our dinner tonight was a disappointing affair. The staff were helpful and polite, but the table that we were seated at was a gateleg table and therefore uncomfortable to sit along the sides. The meals we were served were bland, and more in keeping with mediocre pub fare than the memorable dinners the Causeway was once famous for. We left the hotel very disappointed. A great shame.

Yelp
Situated in the north antrim coast at the entrance to the world famous giant's causeway. this old family hotel has been tastefully renovated and restored to provide modern facilities while retaining its old grandeur and charm. the centrally heated bedroomshave tv, tea/cofee making facilities and bathrooms ensuite.

Yelp
If you are planning on going to the Giants Causeway....this hotel is a must. And even without that tourist attraction, the beaches near the hotel are lovely. Our room had a west view, per my request from researching the reviews. I was able to sit on the patio of my room, with my fiance, and just take in the view and watch the sunset from our room. I happened to mention in my booking that I would be on my honeymoon and the hotel went out of their way to make it special in a big way. The food and service in the restaurant is very good. The hotel has an interesting layout, but I think it only added to the charm of the place. It was my second favorite of the hotels I stayed at in Ireland, but we got married at the first place, so you almost have to rule that one out of the competition.......Almost every place we stayed was a Castle or an Abbey, so that is saying a lot considering this hotel is neither of those.
