One of our favorite restaurants in Solomon’s island! We have been coming here for many years and always enjoy the food, service and the atmosphere. Music with Ben Connelly on Tuesdays in the lounge. Wine dinners once a month last Monday with different themed cuisines and wines. If you are in the area check it out!

Google
The best place to eat on Solomon's main restaurant street providing their fine dining expertise. It may be a bit tight due to limited space but the food is worth the experience.

Been coming here since 2005. This place now has taken away the spirit that was CD Cafe. The new owners have ruined the menu, atmosphere and soul that most of us enjoyed. Last few times we have come here all I wanted to order was a burger because the rest was awful. We haven’t been back in 2 years.

Oh my goodness, I don't even know where to begin. Love the atmosphere small and comfortable. The service was perfect always kept our drinks full, removed the dirty dishes immediately and was very helpful. Now to get to the food... Trying to put the pictures in order with what it was but it doesn't want to work out. So here you go this is the list of food that we had. Napoleon,Savory Walnut Crust Cheesecake,Jumbo Lump Crab Risotto,Chopped Salad,CD Chicken,Flourless Chocolate Lava Cake. So as you can see we had quite a bit. It was a perfect way to sample so many items. Three of them were appetizers then got a salad so we could have the amazing lava cake. It's really hard to pick a favorite. My suggestion is try a little bit of it all You can't go wrong. I cannot brag about this place enough. Definitely one of the best restaurants I've been to.

Revisited the restaurant after a couple of years away. Absolutly a must in Solomons if you want a more eclectic meal than the local seafood. Bangkok Scallops 5 stars. Well, pretty much everything on the menu is a hit. Going back again tonight. The third time in 7 days.... 😄

Long review.. Please do not support the money hungry CD Cafe for any dining outings. They fire employees for virtually no good reason, with no warning, just because they want to. Throughout my year and a half working there, I’ve seen 5 servers fired. One of them was for giving up her shifts even though her shifts were covered by another server, one was bc she didn’t know the semifreddos were in the walk in freezer, and the other 3 were just because the kitchen manager did not like them. The new owner and her boyfriend (kitchen manager) are running that restaurant into the ground, to the point that no employees want to work for them any longer. They drink while they are working and talk to employees like they are stupid and below them. They redid the whole restaurant and menu, completely ruining a Solomon’s Island staple to fit their aesthetic, which in my opinion looks way worse than before. Every day is some new rule to follow for the servers from the kitchen manager, who is not the front of house manager but acts like it. We could not order anything over $30 and get our 50% employee meal even though we were paying for it. It got to the point we could not even order PASTA, which is why I was fired. Now servers cannot get a discount on any food anymore. Dishwashers get free meals, I ordered a burger and paid for it 50% off, this specific dishwasher ordered Mediterranean pasta. We switched food, with permission from the front of house manager, and now I am being fired for it. They were going to wait until I showed up for a very busy concert shift tonight to fire me. Needless to say, I am not showing up for my shift tonight just to turn around and be fired. Certain servers also start drinking from the beginning to their shift all the way to the end, obviously drunk while working, yet I’m being fired for eating pasta. They have their priorities messed up completely.. They’ve lost and are going to lose their long time servers who once enjoyed to work there. Ceiling tiles in the bathrooms fall on customers from a leak in the ceiling that they knew about but did not fix, the bathrooms smell like sewage backing up and the owners don’t do a thing. But if someone eats pasta, FIRED with no warning or write up 🤣 Am I writing this post bc I’m mad I’m fired for eating pasta? Maybe. But this post has been a long time coming from any of the servers working there that get unfairly treated by the owner and her boyfriend (who has no ownership of the restaurant at all but acts like he does). Support CD Cafe or don’t.. I will admit their food is really good (especially the med pasta), but please know who you are supporting and putting money into their pockets to turn around and treat employees like garbage and basically degrade them with words and actions.

Stopped in for lunch with my friend yesterday. We were seated right away, even though they were quite busy. We both ordered their curry chicken salad sandwich. I had the potato salad side. Both were delicious, and the service was great. I didn't get dessert but I have had some of their Creme Brulee in the past, and it's fantastic. Highly recommend!

Google
Love The CD Cafe. Such a cute little spot! The CD chicken is my favorite.

Yelp
Staff was professional, friendly, and attentive. Food was amazing (duck, mashed potatoes, corn n crab hush puppies and pork n shrimp pad Thai) But the savory cheesecake appetizer was phenomenal! A must have!! Small restaurant with just ~8 tables so keep that in mind for wait time.

Yelp
Restaurant is super small but very cute. Service was slow but friendly. The cocktails were pretty good and we were impressed by the variety. Overall the food was okay. The beef tenderloin was overcooked - when inquiring about it they said our obviously well done entree was medium well. For $47 it's a steep price to not be done correctly and if it was priced differently we may not have cared as much. I likely wouldn't go here again but I'm a big foodie and there are a lot of other options to try out. However, I think it's a decent spot.

Yelp
The food is amazing. The menu is always updated with fresh new recipes and some are permanently available like the sea scallops and the butterfly pork tenderloin. I have eaten here many times and never had a bad meal. The portions are large. The service is always friendly and attentive. I would recommend this as a regular stop when in the Solomons. The dining room has been remodeled and is open and bright.

Yelp
If you are looking for something different and original this is the place to go. They have a menu that has selections for the upscale palette. They have a single dining room that is open and inviting. I have enjoyed everything I have eaten there. The service is with a smile.

Yelp
Popeyes burger was on point, fries are delish, and the best potato salad. Service was solid and it's a good quaint setup.

Yelp
Hats off to the chef at CD Cafe. The food is always excellent. The seasoning is on point. I adore the salmon dish with risotto and the curried chicken salad. It's a lovely little spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner overlooking the water. My go to when in Solomons!

Yelp
I shared a New York strip steak with my boyfriend. The portions are huge... So if you're taking Ozempic, Wegovy etc. you will need to share ...And they had dinner specials which was awesome for a restaurant of this caliber. This gets an A for presentation and the steak ... The cream sauce was a nice touch. This place is great for a date if you want someplace quiet and intimate. Overall I was pleasantly surprised.

Charlotte G.

Yelp
Creative menu, fresh ingredients, attentive service. Nicely located a bit off the beaten path in a very interesting space that is not obvious from the outside. We will be back!

Yelp
How things have changed and not for the better. It's been about 3 years since we were there last. First things first, the service was very nice. Pleasant and friendly. Secondly, the meal, not so much. Steak Au Poivre is NOT served as a half-inch thick over done strip steak smothered with some sort of mushroom sauce ever. It is a Filet with a Cognac cream sauce with a heavy accent of black pepper. Don't take shortcuts with such an elegant dish. The filter on the menu was only 2 dollars more, so why not use the steak it was designed for? The chicken pasta and veggies dish was also very unappealing. Lacked a good amount of veggies, and the chicken breast was dry and tasteless. This was our favorite place on the island for many years, but with food like this, we will pass.

Yelp
Well established with local specials and great atmosphere, we arrived very near closing but the staff were awesome and accommodating, food and service was great. Will revisit when in the area....

Yelp
Ate there last night. The interior has been nicely updated since my last visit, more sophisticated , but noisy because of all the hard surfaces. They could use some sound baffles. Front of the the house was a bit too relaxed, instead of being seated and presented with menus, we were waved to empty tables and told to seat ourselves. Long wait for menus to be offered. The cocktails were comical, my seasonal martini was presented in a huge beer glass full of ice and garnished with a soda straw. Very pedestrian wine list. But the kitchen! Those guys were rocking. The hushpuppies, scallop toasts and tenderloin appetizers were prepared perfectly. Definitely A+.

Yelp
My wife and decided to break the monotony of the hustle and bustle of the day and switch up and not run to our regular spot to indulge.. So you know what came next, "Yelp"?, who fit our style.. Based on the recommendation from Yelp we found CD Cafe.. Now funny thing is we've road past this place several times on travel through Solomon's Island.. But this time we were intentional and actually stopped in to check it out.. I must say, we were greeted with. smile and sincere welcome and were allowed to choose which table for 2 best suited us.. The environment is definitely conducive for couples and reconnecting.. Now we didn't go- in normally like we do in past with how much food order on our first experience at place. This time we literally were just stopping through to grab something quick before dinner.. So we did use some restraint .. Ok, Finally, the food; we had Crab Cake Sandwich with Stir Fry, Scallops dish with bread and tomatoes and some special sauce and Cajun Chicken Salad with a side of Fries.. Well, the Crab Sandwich and Fries were the top for us.. We actually ordered one to go as we dine.. Bottomline, definitely worth you dropping in and experiencing it for yourself..

Yelp
What can I say? So glad we made it back to the CD Cafe on Solomons Island. Happy to see Kara, her dad and her fiancé Austin before the new changes coming at the beginning of the year. Mother, me and "aunt" Gloria wined, dined and socialized for a few hours while we eat some of our favorites and tried a few new things. The two for $22 menu is a must, that was one of the new things that we tried. Great food, service and atmosphere make the CD Cafe a great place for a truly wonderful meal. Black Bean Soup, Curry Chicken Salad, Pad Thai are just a few favorites. I'd give a 5+ star rating!!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing- my family enjoyed every dish!! We're hoping to make it our Sundays tradition!

Yelp
Ambiance is good. Staffs are friendly and efficient. My starters were fine, they are the scallop and risotto on the photo. Dessert was delicious. The Pad Thai is so-so. The noodles were mushy. Overall I had a good dinner.

Yelp
Sweet little café, as we walked from the Maritime museum. Nice and cool inside with a comfortable casual atmosphere. Very clean and the decorating was on point and classy (the blue and white floral table runner was absolutely gorgeous!) While it was a small café, the tables were not too close together, so you still felt that you had privacy at your table. The fish tacos were full of flavor and a couple unusual ingredients that I actually had to look up. This place really knew what they were doing as far as combining flavors for an excellent meal -well done Chef! Truth be told I knew I was getting the shrimp tacos as soon as I saw them on the menu because of the pickled onions. My husband got the beef tips, which was more like someone cooking a hearty home-cooked meal and serving it for lunch. Absolutely delicious- felt like you were in somebody's own personal kitchen. Our waitress was lovely and very attentive. Would definitely go back next time we are on Solomons Island.

Yelp
Riding the fence on this one friends. I will review honestly and leave it to you to decide if it suits you. Parking: There was ample street parking, so that was a plus! Ambiance: The dining room was small, so everyone was close together, making the volume somewhat loud. It was very convivial and everyone was friendly. Attire was relaxed. Drinks: I had a Tin Lizzie that was yummy. My friend had a Mule and while tasty, she searched for any alcohol in it. I had my entree with a glass of house Chardonnay and I have to give bonus points for the crazy generous pour! Food: Here is where we had a true mixed bag. We started with the Savory Cheesecake as an appetizer and it was beautiful and tasty. My friend had the Black Bean Soup and the House Salad. The salad was great but the soup was served lukewarm and while it brought mild heat, was under seasoned. I had the Crab Risotto. While not offensive, it was bland and had a sweet quality in both the sauce and dried fruit that I didn't love. It made my wine taste sour. I had to ask for salt! When I brought home the leftovers, I removed the sauce and added a healthy amount of truffle salt and pepper to revive it. While my experience this time lands at three stars, I would give them another shot. It seemed a friendly establishment and while nothing stood out as amazing, it was a nice atmosphere to enjoy a meal.

Yelp
Umm... this was a zany experience. And not in a fun way. This "cafe" had bistro classics like Caesar salad and grilled steaks. But also... pad Thai? My wife was feeling wild and ordered the pad Thai. Holy crap is was awful. For the noodles were cooked to mush, and the sauce neared zero resemblance to pad Thai sauce. Fish sauce? Nope. Sugar? Nope. Tamarind. Nope. Then it had steamed broccoli, carrots, and then a grilled pork chop sliced on top with sautéed shrimp. It seems like the cook knew some basics of Chinese stir fry, and added it to rice noodles cooked with a bullion cube. And it was $27, y'all! Also got a beef fillet, which we ordered med-rare and was definitely mid-well. Well seasoned, but still... for almost $40?! Our meal (to go) was quoted at 20 minutes and took 40- and cost $79 two entrees. As I waited for them to overcook my $80 meal, I was told to wait out in the office park hallway where I read pamphlet for the chiropractor next door. The next day we're still laughing at that "pad Thai". If you don't know how to make a dish, that's okay. Just don't sell it for $30!

Yelp
I am here for desserts. Couldn't find the preferred after dinner drink, I paired my Butterscotch Pecan Creme Brulee with the French St Hilaire champagne, and they made a good match. Our servers, Holly and Kaitlyn, were super friendly.

Yelp
Good food and service. Location is not great. It's a small place in an office building.

Sandy P.

Yelp
Attended a baby shower at this charming, beautiful restaurant. The brunch was absolutely delicious especially the avocado toast and breakfast potatoes (crispy and yummy). The Chef greeted us and you could feel the pride and personal touch she gave to the event! Perfect place for a special, intimate celebration!!!

Yelp
Wow! This place had some of the best food I've gotten off of Solomon's in some time. If you have a big party/are going at a prime time, definitely make reservations. It's a cozy and small dining room. Food was amazing. I got the Mediterranean chicken pasta (gluten free pasta) and it was great! Loved the feta that came on top, the sauce was creamy in just the right way and not too rich! Bangkok scallops were also ordered and were great too, it wasn't too sweet nor too spicy. Will definitely be stopping by again.

Yelp
While in town for a few days I stopped in with a friend during a freak thunderstorm, as this was the quickest place to park and get inside. Well, thank you mother nature. This place is awesome! There's ample parking in the back of the building with tree cover. The restaurant side is small, but we again lucked out and was able to slide right in to a two person table. I ordered one of the daily specials; the grilled Char, with mashed potatoes, pesto, green beans, and a mushroom gravy. It was delicious! The best thing I've eaten in a while. Well worth the price. My friend ordered the NY strip steak, and was just as impressed. The service was swift and friendly. It is a really nice and intimate place. It is on the expensive side, but based on this one experience, it's worth it. Highly recommended.

Yelp
It's ok but I don't see what all the hype is about. Small place decent sandwich's and service is friendly. Not bad if you are in the area and want a quick lunch or coffee but I wouldn't drive over the bridge just to come here
google avatar

Willie R.

Yelp
I was bopping around in Solomans Island the other day and came across CD Cafe while walking around. It was crowded and there was no social distancing indoors and the servers were not wearing masks, so just keep that in mind. Service was friendly, and I had the curry chicken sandwich, which was much better than I expected. The curry had grape pieces, celery, and other bits in there that gave it a nice texture. In case you're wondering, it was like a Jamaican yellow curry. I was happy to find this place while walking around.

Stanley D.

Yelp
Food was very good. Very small quality place. Waitress had a slight attitude , but would definitely go back
google avatar

Jason C.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. The venue is a bit small, but everything else was amazing. They do have live music but not on the night we were there.
google avatar

Yelp
Calling all seafood/Thai food lovers....I was in the mood for something different today and was I glad I was because it was literally one of the best scallop/shrimp/Thai dishes I've ever eaten. I'm telling you, this dish is amazing and I can't wait for my daughter to try it. The curry sauce was rich creamy deliciousness and while it was packed with flavor it didn't overwhelm the delicate scallops. They were large, tender and totally amazing. For dessert I had the Pecan Crème Brûlée which was rich and delicious. Hints of vanilla & cinnamon with pecans and a perfectly crusted topping...it was delightful and this is coming from someone who isn't easily impressed by crème brûlée. Grace and Kara did an amazing job making my dining experience enjoyable and answering my menu questions. I truly love it when staff make recommendations and are knowledgeable about the menu items. This is one of my favorite spots and if you haven't had their food yet, do yourself a favor and stop by for lunch or on your next date night.
google avatar

Luke K.

Yelp
The location and inside area is super cozy and quaint. The food? Even better. You are paying for quality when you eat here. I highly recommend the tacos and any of the appetizers. Servers are quick with service and accommodate any needs you may have. I forgot to get corn tortilla (being gluten free) and they took it back and recooked the taco meat on a corn tortilla--at no extra charge and within 5 minutes. can't recommend this place enough if you're planning on having a night out in Solomon's Island.
google avatar

Alicia W.

Yelp
CD cafe is our second favorite spot on the island. It's small so I recommend making reservations or you can usually grab a table at their bar in the back, The Next Door Lounge if you get there early. Its very cozy in the restaurant and lounge. The service has always been great and the food and drinks are mostly great as well but we've had a few issues with the drinks and food on occasion. The blue cheese martini was very oily the last time I had it. I'm guessing they used blue cheese olives in oil vs. hand stuffed. My husband isn't a big fan of their crab cakes sandwiches, they seem to lack body and have a bit too much bread and sauce. The wine selection is expansive, they have a decent cocktail menu, and and they have daily specials for drinks and food. The crab and corn hush puppies are awesome and the Bangkok scallops are my go to on their regular menu. Overall, it's a great spot but they could improve on consistency across their drink and menu items.

Joseph D.

Yelp
Used to be great. Now it's subpar. Nothing special about this place anymore. It's a shame to see a really outstanding restaurant sink into mediocrity.
google avatar

Cassie H.

Yelp
I've been coming here ever since I was a kid. It's been through many different owners by now and many different makeovers. The one thing that has always stayed the same is how good the CD chicken salad is! I crave this salad so often and can't even try to replicate it myself! The Crème Brûlée there is to die for as well (didn't get it today though so not pictured). As for lunch today the service was a little slow. It was surprising for such a little place to eat. I think we were only checked on once throughout the time of or stay other than to order drinks, the food, and the check. Regardless, I'll be back to the restaurant many times in life! I'll update the next time I am there!
google avatar

Megan G.

Yelp
Our favorite for fine dining in Solomon's! We always get the savory cheesecake and try the specials. Everything is delicious and the servers/bartenders are so kind. It's small, so get there early. Worth every penny!
google avatar

Ken D.

Yelp
Best food in Solomons/Lexington Park area. Service and atmosphere are good as well. I don't give many reviews and most of them are negative. This is my favorite here. Going there tonight to treat myself on the company.

pseudo n.

Yelp
The most creative and delicious new restaurant I've been to in years. We had a mix of several appetizers and a burger and shared a,l around. The savory cheesecake was clever and delicious, a highlight. The crab hush puppies put all others in my life to shame. The risotto was fun and bright, with a nice sweetness to it. The burger had all the properties of a delicious burger but with a nice twist in the greens and cheese. The bar has a tight selection of clever cocktails that really were a fresh take on mixology. We didn't do dessert, we were so full, but I am sure it is divine. Even the fries with the burger were somehow crisp, light, and filling at the same time. A true star of the area, and a must-do for all.
google avatar

Denise A.

Yelp
Small place but very inviting. The food is really good and the staff is nice. We came here for lunch and were seated right away. I ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap and it was not very spicy, just the right flavor. As a side I got asparagus and it was crunchy just perfectly seasoned. My friend has the shrimp tacos and creole potato salad. Both items looked really good. Great spot in Solomons.
google avatar

Jen O.

Yelp
Truly enjoyed the creative flavors! Bold and bursting with new creations. Well thought out new desserts.
google avatar

Omar A.

Yelp
Came here to treat the family to some fine dining only to be surprised that this is far from. Butter nut squash soup (which we make often at home) tastes like sugar and not good at all. Risotto with shrimp was nothing special. Chicken risotto special was unedible even though it looked nice. Risotto wasn't even done (crunchy), the chicken tasted like they just sprinkled McCormick Montreal steak spices on it. Flavor is way off. Chicken dish was not eaten but they insisted on charging us for it. Ridiculous! In addition, we ordered a salad, telling them we cannot eat pork for religious reasons, and that we did not want onions. They then delivered a salad with bacon, which, after telling them, was quickly replaced with a salad WITH onions. On top of all of this, we waited an hour and a half for all of our food. Even the side salad took an hour. This place is horrible and extremely overpriced. They have the right idea, but need better recipes and management!
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
The food is always good, the wait is never long, and the service is knowledgeable about the menu.

Stephen P.

Yelp
I took my wife here a while back and the food was great. It was a great experience. Recently took my wife here for a special date and the quality of food has regressed. Still good service but the quality needs to go back to what it was before especially for the price.

Donna M.

Yelp
the best restaurant in Maryland by far! I love this place and the chefs are so talented! definitely one of my favorite stops to make while I'm in town!

Bob S.

Yelp
Good food but atmosphere, especially in back area could use some attention. The stools are extremely uncomfortable. It's also unclear when back area of restaurant is open.
google avatar

Lorraine P.

Yelp
CD Cafe is the first restaurant I've been to where EVERYTHING I've tried has been fantastic! The regular dishes and the specials are incredibly creative and delicious. Their crab cake, house salad, and mac and cheese are some of my favorite items, but you truly can't go wrong. Highly recommend checking their social media for the specials before deciding what to order. The staff is also very kind and accommodating, and prices are reasonable. During COVID, they're doing take out but they also have some indoor dining options. Can't recommend CD Cafe enough!

Robbie R.

Yelp
I want to pick some food up and get a bistro burger and Mac and cheese. Well apparently the Mac and cheese is only for the kids menu. under old ownership this was not an issue if you have Mac and cheese and I'll buy it that's what I expect the customer is always right this left a bad taste in my mouth poor service very disappointing. Seems like good people working not rude just need to work with customers on things. It's not hard to whip up some Mac and cheese very sad I wanted my fix
google avatar

Andrew C.

Yelp
My wife and I both had excellent meals here. I highly recommend that you try this restaurant. I very nice experience. We will be back
google avatar

Chloe T.

Yelp
Sweet baby lambs, this place is great! First things first, the customer service is great. The servers were very attentive and checked in frequently. They also made great recommendations for lunch choices. I ordered the chef's special, which were the halibut tacos and succotash. I also ordered the creme brûlée for dessert. The tacos were so gracefully put together from shell to sauce, I became one with the taco at some point. The ingredients were so refreshing and well paired, I was astounded. The succotash was nice and fresh, which was a treat. The creme brûlée was a pleasure to indulge. Make room for dessert when you stop by! And how could I forget the sugar cookie martini. Oh my goodness...a must try. So sweet and delicious. Please know, I'll be back. Stop in when you get the chance. It's worth the drive if you don't live in the area!

Yelp
What was once a '5 star go to bistro' swimming in the sea of overpriced Salomon's Island Seafood Scene is now a minnow in the school. The menu change has eliminated ALL of the bistro options for dinner, so stand by for a sticker shock if you were expecting what you remember on your last visit. Salads have gone 1/2 size as have the toppings. A Caesar salad with Salmon is now $24...the same price for a similar FULL SIZED salad at Legal Seafoods at DCA airport, albeit with overcooked salmon at CD Cafe! On the plus side Black Bean soup continues to be a favorite, and the Scallops are a near perfect appetizer....though both are at the top of the mark for price for the quantity provided. On this visit, the andouille sausage was 'forgotten' from the soup, and four petite slices arrived separately...completing the taste profile...you have to ask, how could you possibly forgot to add a key ingredient....from SOUP? -- just adjusted to 2 stars as I write this review - which more accurately describes the experience -Could Have Been Better, and in the past it has been, but these changes put is squarely in the realm of what we have come to expect from EVERY restaurant in the area, OK food, High Prices.

Yelp
Food was okay but definitely not worth the price I payed. Service was good very nice people.
