I traveled to Jordan Winery from out of state to celebrate a milestone birthday, expecting the world-class hospitality they advertise. Instead, the experience was unprofessional and deeply insulting.
Despite having a couple of telephonic conversations prior to our arrival to confirm vegetarian requirements, the winery failed to note the request. When we arrived, the manager on duty was dismissive and insisted the oversight was 'our fault,' showing a total lack of accountability. Most offensive, however, was their handling of a bottle of wine. After initially offering it as a gesture for their mistake, they reversed course and told us we had to pay for it—explicitly implying that our legitimate concerns were just a way to get a 'free bottle.'
The bottle of wine was never the issue. We were there to celebrate and pay for a premium experience. The issue was the staggering lack of professionalism and basic customer service. Being treated with suspicion and having our integrity questioned—after we were the ones who proactively called multiple times—was a shocking way to be treated as a guest. It was hard not to feel that we were being treated differently than other visitors. While our server was polite, the management’s defensive and rude behavior ruined what should have been a special day. For a winery of this prestige, their lack of grace and respect for their guests is unacceptable."
