I stayed here at the very beginning of my Camino journey and was so pleasantly surprised — everything was simply perfect! The service and hospitality are at the highest level. Super tasty breakfast, comfy beds with curtains, soft mattresses and linen — every detail is thought through. The staff are absolutely wonderful — always ready to help, answer any question, or give great advice. So many little extras and thoughtful touches make your stay even better. That’s why, on my way back, I had no doubt where to stay — and once again, I’m completely satisfied with everything. The location is also amazing: only 3 minutes to the river and 5 minutes to the Cathedral. In short — I highly, highly recommend it! 👏👏👏

I had an amazing stay at The Central House Ribeira! The location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of Porto’s Ribeira district, just steps away from the Douro River and all the main attractions. It’s the perfect spot to explore the city on foot. The entire team was absolutely wonderful — super friendly, professional, and always ready to help. A special shout-out to Bruna, who went above and beyond to make sure my stay was perfect. She gave great recommendations for local food, activities, and hidden gems around the city that made my experience unforgettable. The hostel is modern, spotless, and full of great vibes. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Porto. Highly recommend it!

Absolutely loved my stay at The Central House Porto Ribeira! From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded expectations. The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully designed, perfect for relaxing after a day exploring Porto. The breakfast was surprisingly good for a hostel, with plenty of options and great quality. What really made the stay special was the staff—super friendly, helpful, and always smiling. You can tell they genuinely care about making guests feel welcome. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Ribeira, close to everything. I’d absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Porto. Can’t wait to come back!

Top Location Super old/new building Freundly staff Really good breakfast (hostel standards) Clean and tidy Great ensuite bathrooms 24HR check-in ...but some rooms can be VERY noisy from the street outside. It's like the windows don't exist, it's crazy. You MUST bring earplugs or you won't be able to sleep

I can’t imagine a more beautiful property. the building is incredible, in the most central location possible, and the fit out super well done. From the rooms to lounge spaces to the bar. Top tier. Next is the spectacular staff. They are clearly hired, trained, managed well. I had a hiccup with my reservation (my fault) and the multilingual dreamboat working the front desk took time out of his day to help me remedy the situation. Besos. If you’re looking for a dynamic environment in the center of Porto, this is it.

This hostel was very well situated near the river and the city center. The rooms were clean and the beds were confortable. The bathrooms could be more practical (there is nothing to hang a towel and there's no mat to catch the water so the floor gets all dirty after one shower). Important note for a hostel: No kitchen!! This place is good if you have breakfast included and want to eat out every other meal but there is no way to cook so not very budget friendly for travellers. The bar downstairs is cute but there wasn't any hostel vibe, it's more of a calm location (party wise, because cars are HONKING all the time) I would still recommend this place as it was very modern, cute, very well situated with great personnel !

Really nice hostel located in really the central part of Porto. Really easy to go everywhere from there. Just be aware that it’s on the bottom of everything so you’ll have to climb to go everywhere if not by cab. The room was really nice and had their own bathroom and shower. Would go again if I ever do a solo trip there

Liked: The location of this hostel is fantastic, extremely close to the tourist attractions of the Douro River. The front lobby and basement dining room are spacious, with ample natural light. The bunk beds are suitable for solo travelers. The breakfast consistently offers a variety of dishes, and some of them taste really good. Disliked: The shared shower room of the dorm is quite small and lacks adequate lighting. Also, the price for suitcase storage is slightly higher. Sometimes, the receptionist is quite busy, and you have to wait a few minutes for assistance.
