The Central House Porto Ribeira

I had such a great stay here honestly, I would rate it 100/10 if I could. The location is absolutely perfect. It’s right in the center, very close to everything and just a short walk to the water, which made exploring Porto so easy and enjoyable. The hostel itself is very clean. The curtain on each bed was such a brilliant idea for privacy (not all hostels have it). The breakfast is amazing, unlimited and with plenty of options, which was such a great way to start the day. What really made the stay special, though was the staffs. There were two guys alternating shifts at the reception. The first one was so nice, he even let me check in earlier than scheduled, which I really appreciated. The other guy, the one wearing glasses (I forgot to get his name), was incredibly kind and helpful. I mentioned that I had an early flight and wouldn’t be able to make it to breakfast, and he proactively offered to prepare a lunchbox for me at no extra cost. That was such a thoughtful gesture and really shows how much they care about their guests. Truly a marvelous place. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Porto!

We had a nice time staying at this place. We were above group of 8 people. We were given an entire room of 8 beds. It was clean and comfortable. Every bed had a charging point and a small shelf and a light. There were three toilets and showers. Only.issue was that there was only.one small table and one chair. And there are no towels and they charge €2.50 for towels. That was a bit of a disappointment considering that if I paid the same amount at another place towels would be available. The location is awsome. Just 2 minutes from the river. There is a SPAR supermarket next door and lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good but the scrambled eggs were runny. Surely recommend this place for families.

Loved the stay at this hostel! Friendly staff and friendly guests. I had breakfast included which comes with a pretty big variety and good quality for being a hostel. The room was super clean and the bedsheets too. The toilet was in the room which is worth an extra star!

The bed was very comfortable, with a lamp and a charging socket by the bedside. There was a deep personal storage locker under the bed (you need to bring your own lock), which could fit my 45-liter hiking backpack and 25-liter backpack, plus other items. There were two toilets and two showers in the room. Towels were not provided. The hot water in the shower was plentiful. The Wi-Fi was strong. The hotel offers luggage storage before check-in and after check-out for a fee; see the pictures for pricing. The location is excellent. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

A hostel experience doesnt get much better than this. Very cozy and clean rooms with a modern design through the whole building. The hostel staff was extremely helpful and talkative, especially Mr João. The basement also has a nice bar/breakfast area, a minor criticism flule be the breakfast, i was not a fan of the boiled eggs and you might expect a bit more given the price. We had a great stay overall, highly recommend

an excellent hostel, considering the price and location! I stayed there for one night in a girls room, and everything was good. Also want to say thank you to the guy at the reception who thoroughly explained the route to my bus station, since google maps hadn’t done it right 🥰

Booked there for 2 nights, the location is super central but at the same time it’s a bit noisy at night as it sits right next to a main road. The bed is really clean and has a good scent, and personal drawer is unexpectedly spacious that you can put even your suitcase into it! Oh and the breakfast buffet is quite diverse, with delicious egg tarts! I enjoyed my stay:)

I stayed here at the very beginning of my Camino journey and was so pleasantly surprised — everything was simply perfect! The service and hospitality are at the highest level. Super tasty breakfast, comfy beds with curtains, soft mattresses and linen — every detail is thought through. The staff are absolutely wonderful — always ready to help, answer any question, or give great advice. So many little extras and thoughtful touches make your stay even better. That’s why, on my way back, I had no doubt where to stay — and once again, I’m completely satisfied with everything. The location is also amazing: only 3 minutes to the river and 5 minutes to the Cathedral. In short — I highly, highly recommend it! 👏👏👏
