San Francisco Airport's Revamped Centurion Lounge Has Napa Valley Wines, Asian-Fusion Cuisine, and Plenty of Elbow Room | Condé Nast Traveler

"The location in United’s Terminal 3, across from Gate F1 and F2, originally opened in 2014 as one of the first AmEx lounge outposts. In early January 2023, AmEx reopened the Centurion Lounge after a multi-month closure, doubling the lounge’s footprint to 16,000 square feet. In addition to more space, there’s a revamped menu from Chef Ravi Kapur alongside a second bar and buffet area."

We came at around 6:30 In the morning and there was a line and at 7 there was a line of 10+ people. The food itself is very good, they had lots of variety of drinks too. The service is good and the staff are very nice. Free WiFi too.

This temporary lounge is much smaller. They provide the same food and drink and the menu is equivalent. The good thing is you can sit by the window and actually see the airplane taking off, landing and even docking which is really cool. There is a wait list in the afternoon flight but it only took 10 mins before the seat becomes available. I suggest using amex app is possible to join the wait list so you don't have to scan why qr code at the entrance. It takes time. Don't forget to bring your id especially for those using CLEAR and won't have to present id at security check.

Great lounge, but the location is wrong in google maps.. see photo.. It’s a good spot if you are flying American or United.. international will take you 20-35 minutes. The food and service is better than most airline lounges. There are two conference rooms to take calls, two bars, and friendly staff. Breakfast normally has yogurt, eggs, cooked vegetables, oatmeal, smoothies, avocado toast, berries, meats, waffles, and breads. Juices and expresso drinks or alcohol selections. Tables can fill up, but they likely should open up as more people skip this location due to the terminal 3 construction.

Google
This is by far the most disappointing Centurion Lounge I’ve visited. They serve food on paper plates, there are no coffee cups available, and breakfast options are extremely limited—mostly pork-based. Sparkling water is only available at the bar and smells (and tastes) like tap water. The staff are loud and unprofessional, which completely ruins the lounge atmosphere. It’s honestly the first Centurion Lounge I have no desire to come back to.

We had a five-hour layover and were pleasantly surprised that the lounge welcomed us since we usually can't access a lounge more than three hours before a flight. As we explored, we noticed some small couches with tall separators, perfect for lounging if you're tired. However, we chose to rest on a regular couch. The food options were quite impressive, and the squash soup was particularly delightful. I added some hot sauce to mine, as I enjoy a bit of spice 😉. The lounge featured two sections with food offerings. The area with regular couches offered a selection including spicy chicken, delicious rosemary potatoes, squash soup, cookies, pizza, and more. Meanwhile, the side with high-top tables offered yakisoba, chicken with a different yet equally delicious flavor, desserts, and more. Overall, we had a great experience. However, I do wish they had sleeping rooms available so we could have caught up on some rest, and it would have been nice to have alcoholic beverages served at our seats instead of having to go to the bar.

The Amex Lounge at SFO was a fantastic experience from start to finish. It was incredibly clean and well-maintained, which made a great first impression. The space felt open and airy, and it was surprisingly quiet—a perfect retreat from the usual airport chaos. The food was definitely a highlight. The marinated chicken was flavorful and tender, and I paired it with the yakisoba noodles, which were equally delicious. They also had a refreshing pineapple orange infused water that was a great touch. For dessert, I tried both the chocolate chip and red velvet cookies, and both were fresh and tasty—definitely worth mentioning. It wasn’t crowded at all during my visit, and I stayed for about an hour. The lounge is tucked into a quiet corner of the airport, making it a peaceful place to relax before a flight. Overall, a really pleasant and high-quality experience. Highly recommend if you have access!

Food is fresh and with a good variation. Best is full of cocktails. They do have an incredible cold brew. Even if is temporary space it's quite good.

Google
Spacious lounge with great variety of hot and cold food options. Everyone from the front desk, bartenders, to servers are so nice here. There’s two main seating and dining areas. They have a great selection of fresh fruit including fresh blackberries and blueberries during breakfast. Appreciate the convenient location in Terminal 3 as there’s not many other lounges here.

Yelp
First time at this location & this is by far my favorite of the other locations. Spacious & updated with excellent customer service as usual & the food is always a plus. Major perk is the complimentary beverages.

Yelp
The good is they serve 3 types of sparkling!! Lots of seating and most seats have outlets to plug I your electronics. Tho it was pretty crowded. Apparently there is special seating area for Centurion card holders, which was not crowded. There was fruit and yogurt and lots of pastries which looked good tho I didn't indulge. The not so great. The food wasn't great. It was ok they had eggs which in my opinion had been on the hot plate too long. They were starting to turn a little green. The sausages I got were raw in the middle and for some reason super sweet! The service was really good. Dishes and glasses were cleared quickly. The food service lines were really clean! Something that is important to me!! I will visit the lounge again if I'm back at SFO... but it wasn't super impressive.

Yelp
Douglas at the bar was straight up offensive. When I ordered two mimosas, one for me and one for my wife, he used profanity with me. His exact quote was "we aren't in the business of getting people fucked up" He then told me I was making him look like a dick when I asked if he was for real. The most unprofessional bartender I've had in a long time, and that's saying something.
google avatar

Yelp
This centurion lounge is better than no lounge access, that's for sure! Cool automatic wine tasting station by the bar (self-serve) and an array of food offerings that cover breakfast, lunch, light snacking, dinner and desserts. I was disappointed that the tapas area down the long hallway to the left closes so much earlier than the main food section (we liked the food options over there much better). This lounge is a little run down inside and the space itself is quite small compared to other airport lounges/ other centurion locations. The service to clear shared spaces was slow and the lounge was at capacity while we visited.
google avatar

CJ G.

Yelp
For $695 per year, Amex could do better. If you are flying out of SFO, one of the only ways to beat the inevitable delays is the Centurion Lounge. Unfortunately, it is mostly "capacity controlled," and your $695/year fee buys you ... not much. If you are lucky enough to be admitted, you will be "welcomed" by a snarky automatron behind the desk who requests in a stack voice, "Boarding Pass. ID. Amex Card. WR Code." Once admitted, you have access to a "full" bar (limited hours: don't try to get a real drink before 1030) and a self-serve array of mass prepared snacks. Better than being among the hoi-polloi. Not great. For $695/year, one expects more.

Yelp
Had a chance to visit the Centurion lounge on a recent trip and this was an awesome experience! We stopped by around lunch time before our flight and it was a great experience. They have a full bar here and plenty of space which was nice. We got to try mini crabcakes, truffle flatbread, butternut squash Soup, tomato soup as well as chicken and a variety of veggies which were all delicious. The desserts were also amazing with lots of cookie options as well as a delicious fig tart! So many options to choose from, I was absolutely stuffed by the end of the meal - in a great way. Service was absolutely awesome. We didn't get a chance to try any of the drinks at the bar, but we hope to next time! Overall, would highly recommend to check out if you have the Amex Platinum!

Yelp
This Centurion Lounge at SFO is very dependable in having available seats and offering great food/drinks & service. The space is very clean and spacious, and it really does give an opportunity to relax before a flight. There are a variety of seating options ranging from small tables, open seating areas, to personal "cubbies". Wifi works great here too. The food has been quite good as well. I have been here for breakfast and dinner, and both times have had a wide variety of hot/cold dishes along with fresh fruit + veggies too. All in all, there is always something for everyone at this Centurion Lounge. The area around the lounge is currently under construction, so don't be confused if it seems like you're walking the wrong way--the Amex Centurion Lounge is definitely still there and open!

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Centurion Lounge at SFO, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The lounge is clean, spacious, and very open, which provided a nice, airy atmosphere. One of the highlights was definitely the views of the terminal, which added a unique element to the lounge experience. The new interior is very well done, with modern touches that enhance the overall ambiance. The food available in the lounge looked good but lacked variety. While the quality was decent, a bit more selection would have been appreciated. Despite this, the lounge was not packed, which made for a comfortable and relaxing visit. The staff at the lounge were exceptionally kind and helpful, contributing significantly to the positive experience. However, finding the lounge was a bit of a challenge. The signage for gates F1 and F2 was not very clear, making it somewhat difficult to locate the lounge. But once inside, the overall experience was quite enjoyable. In summary, the Centurion Lounge at SFO is one of the better lounges I've visited, offering a clean and spacious environment with great views and a well-done interior. The kind staff and pleasant atmosphere make it worth the visit. Just be prepared for a bit of a hunt to find it!

Yelp
Great ambiance! Staff are great and willing to help and offer help whenever you need it Check-in is a breeze and the lady at the reception is super friendly and she remembered my name throughout our stay there. The food is good and I am full that I don't think I can on the plane. It is a good place to send and log on to do your work or travel planning.
google avatar

Lizzie S.

Yelp
My favorite airport lounge! They have free SF postcards they'll mail for you that I always try to send. Lots of free alcohol and cocktails. Comfy seating and TVs that sometimes play professional tennis. Friendly service and lots of good food. Worth stopping by but not worth the $50 guest fee.
google avatar

Dilys S.

Yelp
renovated and better extensive drink menu including a prosecco sparkling rose and a brut. good food and still busy and crowded simple seating but huge improvement since the pandemic
google avatar

Yelp
This lounge is actually pretty good and had the chance to see them switch from breakfast to lunch. Keep in mind this lounge can get pretty busy depending on the time of day and mine experience was no different as I flew out at 1:20pm. Arrived and checked in without an issue and headed straight for the food. It was a typical breakfast spread with eggs, bacon, meatless options, toast, yogurt, and fresh fruit. They also have a self service coffee machine for lattes, cappuccinos, etc. Lunch was better with some chicken and steak options. I opted for the corn salad, quinoa, and steak. The steak was a tad tough and a little flavorless, but its nice to not have to pay for a meal in the airport. Plenty of alcohol options, beer, and wine, but didn't have any of that on this trip. Overall it is a nice club, but I do feel like airport lounges in general are becoming too crowded.
google avatar

Gayan P.

Yelp
A very nice lounge. Spacious with seating areas with separate food and drink offerings. The service was friendly and attentive, though the bar at the back has some really strict serving rules... which took away from our enjoyment slightly.
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
There are better lounges at SFO. What makes it meh is that anyone can get in ( all you need is an AMEX Platinum card) and it gets very busy...which is the antithesis of a lounge....to be chill and quiet and not crowded.
google avatar

Brad B.

Yelp
Last time I reviewed this lounge was in December of 2015... say what?! Welp, nothing has changed for me as my love for these sweet Amex lounges always makes my trips home to SD much easier, but I can't say the same for the lounge itself. It's become a bit overrun with more and more people over the years but I will give them credit for trying their best to manage the crowds in various ways. The most obvious way that they're doing this is by expanding the lounge itself and adding an extra "wing" to the place. The new wing has a nice new bar, pouring nice cocktails with good booze and even a smaller buffet where you can grab a more curated bite to eat without having to walk your plate from the main room. It's a nice touch to take away some of the front room pressure. Heads up, you may encounter a line when you arrive at the lounge depending on the hour. I was about 20 people deep in the line but it moved quickly and I was inside enjoying my lunch in about 10 minutes - a small price to pay. As always, thank you Amex!
google avatar

Christina D.

Yelp
Its a nice free perk and very spacious with multiple area for seating Not sure if its worth paying $50 for a guest if its just serving breakfast though ... unless your guest plans on ordering plenty of alcohol. Load up on the drinks to make that long international flight bearable. Usually breakfast food in lounges are not impressive: theres yogurt with toppings, toast with spreads, eggs/ omelette, Turkey sausages, bacon, fruits . Tea juice water coffee. They had several small bites of pastries danishes too. Typical unimpressive items but expected I would need to come back for a later flight that would hit more of a lunch time meal. I heard thats when the food is more impressive. Will update review when that happens Seats with tables all around. They have outlets for charging and using laptops .
google avatar

David P.

Yelp
Bar closes 30 minutes before closing (10:30PM), sharp. A nicely redesigned Centurion with a little far of a walk to get to the full bar. They made me an old fashioned super speedy with two minutes before closing, so I really appreciated that. Food at the end of the day was all gone and it seemed like nothing has been replenished in a while.
google avatar

Yelp
(Overall: A) - After more than a year of reconstruction, the new SF Centurion Lounge is finally back open with an expanded area! The expansion is incredibly nice with a lot of space to accommodate visitors and a long overhead area that looks over an entire wing of the airport. I had the time to have a couple of drinks and dessert and found them to be quite nice overall. It was a very pleasant experience that reaffirms value for the Amex Platinum card for me. -- Food: 2/4 Presentation: 3/4 Price: 2/4 Service: 3/4 Atmosphere: 3/4 Menu: 3/4 IG: @amei.eats

Yelp
Simple review...great drinks, so-so food, and great staff and place to relax before the flight. $700 fee for the card if you travel more than 5X per year. Also the bartender at the first bar is great, ex cruise ship pro does a great job.
google avatar

Qinnan L.

Yelp
I love how spacious this lounge is. With two dining areas, there's enough room for everyone even during the busiest times at the airport. There are ample outlets and good wifi to settle in and get real work done. All of the food is surprisingly good too. My favorites are the fried eggplant and flatbread. Such a nice oasis at SFO. I just wish it was more central and convenient for more gates
google avatar

Michelle E.

Yelp
Stellar service. Great breakfast buffet, the caramelized onions scrambled eggs and sausage patties are probably the best breakfast we've had in a while. The staff keeps the facility immaculately clean, the stations are well stocked, they are friendly and very attentive. Even their drip coffee is great, which says a lot about this place. Love it here, wonderful experience.

Neal R.

Yelp
Crowded, food felt like it had been sitting out for quite awhile. The checking process was also slow.
google avatar

Yelp
The Centurion Lounge SFO is located in terminal 3 adjacent to gates F1 and F2. They renovated during COVID, adding additional square footage, 2 showers, and an additional bar/food station. During my recent visit it was not as crowded as I've seen in the past. This might be due to change in guest policy and the addition space. The guest fee is now $50/person. To get your guest fee waived one has to spend $75,000 on qualifying purchases. Hot food is served throughout the day and signature cocktails can be ordered. They also have a self pour wine station. Kindly ask your bartender for a wine tasting card. The Centurian lounge at SFO is 5 stars in my books, but negative entitled drunk members kill the vibe. Note: Showers closes at 10pm. Bar/food closes 10:30pm.
google avatar

Gi S.

Yelp
They must've remodeled since last year. It looks a lot different. Much better I think. Food is ok. They have wings, hummus, cabbage salad and some cookies. I wandered around to the wine bar area and they had more food ! Food is delicious, good place to stay during my 3 hour layover Decent gin offerings, Botanist, Bombay sapphire, St George's in addition to Tanqueray
google avatar

John F.

Yelp
I was recently at the Centurion Lounge at San Francisco airport. It's in a very convenient location close to the gates and open very early. I love having a full breakfast including hot and cold items. Best of all is the spacious shower that's usually available with little to no wait. As far as I know, this is the only Centurion Lounge that also has a wine tasting self-service station. It allows you to try six different wines all at a touch of a button. Membership has his privileges! Strongly recommended!
google avatar

Claire H.

Yelp
The first time I visited this lounge, I was pretty impressed and look forward to it when I'd fly but the last several times it has felt like the standard has slipped and the food options have not changed one bit. The staff is friendly but the menu is stuck on repeat and I often find myself taking a bite or something and not finishing it because it doesn't taste good. This lounge is also a victim of its popularity and I often find myself flustered and in a queue. AMEX has some catching up to do with the new Chase Sapphire lounges which are really setting a new standard.
google avatar

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
This was my first time to this lounge and was pretty happy except for the steep $50 if you want to bring other in with you. (Children are $30) Food was good and they had lots of space. Make sure to keep walking down the hall on the left after the main buffet, there are two other places to check out.
google avatar

Lee S.

Yelp
I've visited other Centurion Lounges and by far this one stands above the rest. The staff is very welcoming, friendly and understands the importance of providing good customer service. The lounge is spacious, very accommodating and has all the amenities you'd expect. The thing that separates this lounge from others is the vast selection of wines. They offer a wine flight allowing you to sample (5) separate wines (no charge, tips appreciated). The wines are great tasting and the portions are generous. Kudos to Shanti, the bartender, she did an amazing job. She was enthusiastic, bubbly and had a great disposition. Overall, the food was good not great but the hospitality gets high marks.

Yelp
Another visit to the SFO Centurion Lounge means seeing familiar and friendly faces. Reception is consistently efficient and are fantastic about letting us know when our next leg loads/departs and where from. I mean, you should know anyway but it's still nice. I appreciate the small details like that. The ambiance depends largely on the folks there. The staff are usually very reliable with their here to help attitude and bustling marking sure the place runs smoothly. Depending on the time it can be scarcely full and other times you might wait for seat. This morning was pretty busy with people everywhere and bags draped over chairs, resting on tables or somewhere in between. The members filling the lounge run the gamut of those hunkered down and working as well as those decompressing, chilling and even crashing on a chair. I was in a bit of a hurry with not a whole lot of layover time and considering I had to get close to the end of F terminal (15) and the lounge is at F1/F2 LoL! Breakfast was the name of the game for me this time around. It's pretty steady with the menu - frames fruit, scrambled eggs, muffins (cranberry minis to be exact) steel cut oats, sausage, potato hash, biscuits and so on. Coffee, water and OJ as well as the open bar. Being vegan it's pretty slim for me. Usually fruit and oats, with some OJ and water. That's exactly what it was today. The fruit however, looked like it had been left out too long or actually, was over ripe. The grapes were all right and crisp. The melons though, they were soggy and soft. The steel cut out were extremely watery. I stirred down to the bottom of the large hoping maybe they had settled but no such luck. I didn't have any of the biscuits but there were several members complaint to the staff about the "hockey pucks" as one called them. You could tell they were very over cooked and they looked as dry as Phoenix was. It wasn't the lounges best food day. It was a nice respite for the short time I was there this trip home. The bathroom, per usual, was extremely clean and well stocked. I'll definitely use the lounge again even with the disappointing food. I apologize for the lack of photos, in my rush I didn't take any.
google avatar

Ingrid L.

Yelp
As a biweekly visitor of this lounge for the past ~2 years, I definitely rely on visiting and dining here. I do think this lounge is one of the better ones of the Centurions but the quality varies depending on day/time you're visiting. Staff is constantly cleaning and monitoring which is great. The nice thing about the SFO location is that they have wine tasting (because Napa Valley proximity). There's also a second lounge hidden all the way in the back behind the bathrooms. However, I feel that the food quality can range meh to good. This means quality, preparation, presentation, and (re)stock. The last 2 times I visited the cookies were stale :(
google avatar

Gary Y.

Yelp
This is a decent place to grab a quick bite before your flight if you got that AMEX platinum card. The food is generally decent. I like that it's right across the connector with international terminal so you can enjoy it even if you aren't flying out of terminal 3. Only problem is it tends to be quite busy, seems a lot more crowded than the space outside the lounge. It won't be a relaxing experience if you're looking for a chill spot.
google avatar

Robyn P.

Yelp
This is a very nice lounge at San Francisco International Airport. The decor is elegant, and the lounge is very spacious with plenty of seating. There are two buffets and two bars and clean restrooms. There are TV's throughout, as well as a large screen with Flight departure updates. The food was quite tasty and included a salad bar, small sandwiches, and cookies. Everything was self serve. Drinks are ordered at the bar, and staff routinely make rounds to clean the tables. We had a long layover, so we stayed at this lounge comfortably for a few hours. The lounge layout is well planned, and seats didn't feel too close together. When you first enter the lounge, there is a gorgeous 'Living Wall of 895 Live Plants ' that is amazing! It looks like artificial plants , but the plants are real. I would definitely spend time here again while traveling through San Francisco Airport
google avatar

Virat D.

Yelp
Offers a buffet with a solid variety. I tried the chicken, potatoes, and lemon vinaigrette. Delicious food and a bar is included inside as well. Appreciated the fact that even though it's a lounge they still have bussing service. It's a very large lounge as well with desks in the back to do work.
google avatar

Erik A.

Yelp
Decent eats and drinks even though it always manages to be far away from my boarding gate. Everyone was really nice here. The lounge has several seating areas you can go to as well as a two bars and two buffet areas. Several protein options on the buffet as well as veggies and some fruits. The Korean spiced chicken was delicious. Front bar has beer and wine - back has the booze ; it was nice to have two bars to keep the crowding down. Some of the charging outlets didn't work, thankfully I had a power brick to top up while I was waiting.
google avatar

Maninderpal M.

Yelp
One of my favorite lounges , I personally also love the escape Amex lounge at the Oakland airport but this one takes the cake for having EVERYTHING you can imagine. Lots of pastries, vegan and vegetarian friendly food, gluten free options and meat options. They have a coffee bar and a full bar and lots of seating. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it can get super busy and I don't end up going a lot because of it. The customer service is amazing and they are very helpful
google avatar

Tarek S.

Yelp
I've been coming here since it was a 5* exclusive experience through the time it was a 1* overcrowded nightmare and now to a 3* decent. Food is hearty but doesn't live up to Ravi Kapoor so surprised he puts his name on it. Drinks are good and strong too and the post covid addition of the cocktail bar is clutch. Service is hit or miss but tonight's a hit so we round it to 3*
google avatar

Jeffrey C.

Yelp
It's not bad. Gets the job done, generally has space, and has decent hot n fresh foods. Note there's an entire second wing away from the immediate area that's usually way emptier.
google avatar

Ervin S.

Yelp
I travel enough that having an AMEX since 94 and a Platinum AMEX card has its perks...One of them is the Centurion Lounge. Food is ok and not varied but better than the food court meals. Warm with a small but varied selection it won't wow or disappoint. However it is welcomed and fairly good. That mango desert though is. addictive. Service is good and drinks are free but I never booze up more than two. Ambiance is nice and dark, with enough room to get work done or feel isolated. I like the access I get to the lounge and if you have anPlatinum AMEX well worth it if you go to SFO enough. Membership has its privileges.
google avatar

Amica J.

Yelp
Intimate lounge in Terminal 3. The staff here are more personable than the delta lounge. As soon as you enter each individual makes you feel welcomed. You show your card and flight details as soon as you enter. Policies (as of this date): Entry at least 3 hours before departure. Unless you spend $75k/yr on card, each add on is $50 each guest. Food is curated and each option was well thought out. My favorite was the mango panna cotta. Coffee/ Tea station, open bar available (2 bars inside). Free Wi-Fi (on card when you enter). Wine testing available.
google avatar

Joanna S.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place to relax since we now get to the airport over an hour before boarding. It's hard to predict the lines, even with TSA pre. Thank goodness they remodeled and also eliminated free guests, so it's no longer crowded. Its $175 for an additional card. I don't drink before flying, but many people enjoy the beer, wine and mixed drinks. I've never used the showers, but it would be nice if you are traveling on a long itinerary.
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
So if I'm flying out of SFO (or any airport with a Centurion) I'll get to the airport early to enjoy the peace of this place. SFO has been expanded since the paprika and even so it's truly always busy lol. Some how the staff keeps it cleans sun inviting when you're able to grab a seat. Recently (last two sfo trips this year) they only have a limited menu until 1030am. Who's got the time for that? Anyways the place is worth the stop if there's no line. Luckily SFO has plenty of great vendors. But if I'm paying for the drinks I'm going here.

Yelp
Really loving all of the extra space down the nice long hall after the long awaited completion of the remodel! There's an additional full bar and lots of extra seating. The area all the way at the end provides some refuge in a more quiet setting. It's also quite nice that the chef listed who designed the menu is Chef Ravi Kapur of Liholiho Yacht Club (a must try in SF)! The staff here is friendly and is always on the move to quickly clear tables for efficient turnaround. This is truly the lounge to be in!
google avatar

Yelp
Your relax here .. good thing my Flight leaves at 11:45 less Traffic here .. food was good .. They're good in cleaning your Plates too . Able to experience 2 lounges in one night being a United Club Member and this lounge.. worth the experience

Yelp
After AMEX expanded the lounge, there is so much more space for guests. The original side, which is immediate after you check-in, still has a traditional flair - seating accommodations, amenities, and food/drink bars. What I also like is their unique wine wall where you can select your own pour from various choices. The expanded side is accessible through the first food/drink bar toward the back and taking a left along a walkway. This takes you to a exciting second lounge with some different food selections (and some of the same). There is a second cocktail bar as well. Everytime I've come here, the staff are friendly and will always enjoy a casual conversation. They are quick to clean up empty spots and keep the place overall clean. I'd say this is a better experience overall than the JFK Centurian Lounge, since they no longer have the Equinox and showers.

Yelp
Thank you Centurion Lounge! My flight was delayed for several hours and the Centurion Lounge came to rescue. I was accompanied by delicious food, drinks, and had prompt customer service. I absolutely love their ambiance with cubical pods, vast table + chairs, and their clean bathrooms. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
It's been a while since I visited SFO's Amex CL. Before the recent expansion & renovation, there was usually a long queue for entry. I usually fly via T1 or T2 domestically, and getting on the waitlist only worked in-person, so the Amex app wasn't reliable if I had a short window to get back to my gate after. Now that guests are no longer free starting February and the space is twice as big, the queues seem non-existent at 10:30am on a Saturday, despite what appeared to be a longer TSA queue at T3. Seating is more spread out in the additional rooms down the long hallway, and the employees don't seem as stressed out trying to contain the crowding. The travel blogs have pretty accurate reviews, and I also found that even for breakfast, quality and variety has improved. I rarely drink nowadays, but there's now two bars (second one down the hallway seemed unmanned) and the wine tasting wall was pretty cool to see. Looks like they also got new coffee machines too! Overall, I think the lounge experience has improved significantly, the food selection and seating are now better DL/AS/UA lounges in SFO considering they're easily accessible, but still a step below Emirates Biz or UA's Polaris lounges. Depending on your departure gate, budget your time wisely as it's located at F gates. I'd recommend budgeting 15-20 minutes to walk from here to C gates, maybe 10-15 for D gates. Would definitely trek here now if timing permits.

Yelp
Hands down the best Centurion Lounge I have been too! Large with lots of seating areas and two different buffets - one that is more Hors d'oeuvres based and one that has a more substantial meal! Loved the creative dishes and enjoyed a kimchi and tofu soup! They have a fantastic wine selection - you are given a bar code from the counter and scan in to select various 1oz pours from their preservation system which is a good way to try something new! Service was fast and friendly and it was a great way to relax before a long flight home!

Yelp
The long awaited renovations for the SFO Centurion Lounge is complete. I have never been here before, but people keep telling me the size has nearly doubled in order to add capacity while also giving members a feeling of privacy and exclusivity. When checking in, the staff at the front told us to come back 2 hours prior to the flight, as they needed to limit capacity and hoped we understood. We didn't, but it was a close-ended comment, so we complied and went to the other Priority Pass places since I had a Chase Sapphire Reserve. When we were able to check in, I was amazed. Definitely very spacious and could easily allow workers to conduct meetings without having to worry about people walking around in the background or making disruptive noises. It seemed, however; that on a Tuesday morning, everybody was in some type of work related meeting. I guess maybe that's the difference between this and various other lounges? The bartender at the side location was a bit rude though. When I tried to order 2 drinks, one for myself and one for my partner, he said abrasively that he needed everyone to be up there. "Can I bring his ID, as he's in a meeting". No. I need everyone to be up here. You cannot get another drink until you're completely finished. No exceptions. Okay. I ended up getting a single flute of bubbly and explained to my partner that he would need to go up. At that point, he decided to stay put. There were literally nobody that went up to the bartender the remainder of our visit, as most people frequented the bartender at the main bar.

Yelp
Pretty good. Certainly better than the dungeon-like claustrophobia of the LAX lounge but not as aesthetically delightful as the lounges at Seattle and JFK. This Centurion lounge is a good, relaxing choice with a lot amenities but it might not seem like it is at first because of the really strange layout. You'll kind of need to wander when you first get here or you may be convinced to pick a cruddy place to sit without realizing there's like 3X the seating on the other side of the entrance. A lot of AMeX lounges suffer from this problem but this SFO branch may be the most egregious offender. Rest assured if it initially looks as if there's nowhere to sit, there probably is down the hall. Food and drink options are typical of Centrion lounges with the exception that this one as a wine section that's actually quite nice and well appointed, keeping with the Amex theme of having a special nod to the local city.
