We LOVED it here! What a beautiful place to stay around our Chaco Canyon visit. The hacienda is perfectly decorated and the included breakfast was amazing. Denny is full of knowledge of the area - just ask and you'll find many hidden secrets.

It is very difficult to write this review with stars, because we never got to stay there. We made a reservation by speaking to the host, Denny, and he assured us everything was set. We booked a two nights stay at the beginning of our vacation, fortunately, he did not ask for a credit card, which we thought was a bit odd, but based on reviews thought that was just the laid-back and interesting way he did business. He had told us to call from a local gas station when we arrived. We called two hours ahead to tell him to expect our call and arrival at 5 PM. We arrived at 5:08 but could not find the appointed gas station. We took our chance with GPS and found the Hacienda with no issue. There was absolutely no sign of life except a dog. No one answered any door. No one answered any phone call, so we were left with no alternative but to seek other lodging. It took us four hours Until we finally found something in Farmington. I hope the owner is OK. There has still been no word.

We were able to stay for only one night and were immediately charmed by the home. It was a chilly night, but the home heated up quickly and had everything we needed. The beds were super comfy and cozy! Denny was easy to work with, friendly, and responsive. Both check-in and check-out went smoothly. And the huevos rancheros for breakfast at Chaco Grill? Fantastic!

A charming and peaceful retreat tucked away off the beaten path, surrounded by nature. You can relax on the veranda or patio, enjoy clear views of the night sky, and take in the calming sounds of the desert. We stayed in the Kiva Suite, which included a comfortable sitting area and a well-equipped kitchenette—plenty of space for the two of us to unwind. Note: Check-in, payment, and breakfast are all handled through Chaco Grill, which is located in town and not on the premises. Breakfast is made to order and was quite good—definitely worth the short drive.

Excellent Value and Great Location for visiting the many historic indigenous sites in the region. The owner's communication style was very casual, but dependable. The lodge was tucked away and felt very private. The place was clean and comfortable. Breakfast provided at local gas station/restaurant was exceptional, a true highlight of my trip.

Other reviews seems great. Be your own judge - we were passing through town on the CDR and looking for a place to stay - after a couple of back and forth phone conversations, review the text conversation.

This 2-room hacienda is in a beautiful setting about a mile from the little town of Cuba NM. It is the best location for visiting Chaco Canyon National Monument. I stayed in the spacious nicely appointed Kiva room. There was coffee and a decent kitchen. There's space outdoors for a short hike right on the grounds. The room includes delicious breakfast at Chaco Grill. The town of Cuba has a terrific New Mexican restaurant, El Bruno. Owner Denny didn't even take a deposit - everything was arranged by text on a trust basis.

We enjoyed two wonderful days at Chaco Lodge Hacienda in Oct 2024, and highly recommend it! We stayed here during our visits to Chaco Culture National Historical Park. Chaco Lodge has a peaceful setting, and the room is spacious and comfortable. We also spent time in morning and evening sitting on the patio. The breakfast burritos at the Chaco Grill were also delicious.

Yelp
We stayed in the Kiva room, a self-enclosed suite attached to the house. We did not see the bedrooms in the main house. This review would be five stars except that while we were there the WiFi wasn't working. Everything else was lovely. The room was beautiful with a huge shower, and there was a great patio and homey front porch, with pleasant views of meadows and mountains. The only sounds were birds and the wind in the ancient cottonwoods. Cuba is an absolutely unpretentious little town (to put it mildly and kindly), but that's part of the attraction. It has two great New Mexican restaurants--El Bruno and The Chaco Grill, which is affiliated with the lodge (but is a five minute drive away). It's the perfect antidote to expensive, dripping-with-charm, tourist-filled towns like Taos or Santa Fe. In Cuba it's possible to experience New Mexico at its unpretentious, authentic, laid-back best. (There's also a funky, artsy drive-thru espresso stand at the north end of town, Juicy Jitters.) This B&B would be a good base for exploration of nearby ruins (Anasazi and Gallina) that are rarely visited--Bluebird Mesa, Rattlesnake Ridge, etc.--as well as the very famous Chaco Canyon (about 75 miles away).
