Zita, Walter and Judith are friendly, smiling and thoughtful hosts, and so knowledgeable of this area and its history, having lived here for 40 years. |The first and lasting impression of these facilities is the immaculate cleanliness – in our room every area, cupboard, utensil and surface was well maintained and clean. |We stayed in a one bedroom room with a lake view. Out the front of the sliding glass doors there was a cute paved area bordered with a garden in full bloom. It was a prime spot to sit at the outdoor table and chairs to soak in the perfect views of the lake and the ever changing cloud formations across the mountains.|The bed was super comfortable, the shower hot and the towels thick and thirsty – there was even a separate washer and moist towelette for makeup removal. These people have an eye for detail, including quality ground coffee in small packets for the plunger for the breakfast brew.|It was so nice to have the capacity to enjoy some meals assembled in our kitchenette from local produce (the salmon fillet from Mt Cook Alpine Salmon Shop collected on our journey to Lake Tekapo was a winner!). And having that bit of extra space to spread out that doesn’t come with a regular motel room, is always appreciated. We even had the opportunity to get some laundry done, which made the next leg of our journey so much easier.|Thank you to Zita, Walter and family for your hospitality and warmth. And a special thank you for finding our left behind charger before we’d even missed it!! We were only 5 min down the road when Walter called, and this was at the beginning of what was to be a 5 hour drive to the west coast!! Much appreciated!! ||Bontaks Travels
