Toppers has been topped. We ate at Toppers a few nights before Chanticleer. I thought it was the best food I had ever had. Until I ate at Chanticleer. From the moment of arriving and walking through the gorgeous gardens to walking in the lovely dining room we were impressed by the ambience. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. The food was incredible with delicious rolls, flavorful salad, and entree with a blend of flavors that were incredibly satisfying. The dessert of house made peach and blueberry cobbler with ice cream was perfect. An impressive wine list is available to compliment the meal. A very smooth coffee topped off the evening as a wonderful experience. If you visit Nantucket indulge in a visit to this enchanting establishment.

This is a top restaurant destination when you visit Nantucket. The service is impeccable. The wine list is fantastic. Their cocktails are impressive. The food is beyond delicious. I promise you will not be disappointed. Sit outside for lunch if you can. We loved sitting inside for dinner. You will love it here.

Sitting outside in the garden is very nice. Sitting inside is fine, especially if it is cold outside in the evening. However, it’s a bit dark and dreary indoors. The service tonight was uninformed and unhelpful. No knowledge or help with choosing a wine. No help with questions regarding the menu. These are not expectations I have at most restaurants, but I do have them in an expensive restaurant that has enjoyed a longstanding excellent reputation. We had heard from locals in Sconset that the food/experience were not as good this year. Regrettably, I would have to agree. There are so many other good restaurants in ACK to visit first.

We were very excited about a birthday dinner with the girls as we received multiple recommendations for Chanticleer. The bread was amazing, the appetizers were good but when it came to main course, both chicken dishes were cold and not cooked, we asked to have dishes replaced with cooked food, and after a half hour wait, received our food, it was slightly warmer and some parts still looked uncooked, and the restraint of our table had finished their food. We asked for consideration on our bill which was $700.00, hoping to have at least one of the chicken dishes removed and desserts comped. After the waiter discussed with Chef, we were comped for two desserts which were not that great to start with….i should also say the restaurant was half empty and it was a cold rainy night…no reason for Chef to send our cold, uncooked food… Be warned…this new Chef’s food is NOT good! So much for a happy birthday :( Still hungry and a year older…

We’ve been to The Chanticleer many times over the past few years, and had I written a review after those visits it would have always been between 4 and 5 stars. We were concerned when we saw how much the menu had changed since our last visit in 2024, as it felt much less accessible this year. Unfortunately, our meals ranged from disappointing to merely good. The highlights were the cocktails and the cavatelli, which was light and fresh and generously portioned for an appetizer. We’ve always enjoyed treating ourselves to a delicious meal at The Chanticleer, but for the first time, we’re not likely to make the trip next time.

Everything was lovely about our lunch at Chanticleer (mother-daughter weekend) except for our experience with the hostess. We arrived on time for our reservation and she couldn’t find our name, put it back on us asking if we’d perhaps made a mistake or booked last minute. We assured her we booked on resy well in advance and even showed her app confirmation. She made us feel as if we were in the wrong (never apologizing for being unable to find us). Once she found our name, she said we could sit in the sunroom — but our reservation was clearly for an outside table. If you cant guarantee seating specifics, don’t allow specific reservations. Our expectation was to be seated outside. She made it seem like we would let that go and didn’t offer any solutions (like a drink in the sunroom then seating in 30 etc) We felt like we were unwelcome and not taken care of when we had taken care to make a reservation well in advance. Not a great hospitality start to the meal but the rest of was wonderful and delicious. Served was kind and knowledgeable.

Update summer 2024: The garden is still amazing. The food was better. I wished they had more sharable appetizers. Bread was delicious. The best part they have an amazing desserts menu !!! Great job. We tried 4 of 6, and they were amazing. Previously, I gave them 3 stars, but they earned 4 all because of the amazing and multiple dessert options. Unfortunately, not what i remembering... First time back at this restaurant since 2020, and i was disappointed. The garden is still amazing. Drinks was ok ... just ok. Food except the appetizer who was special for the night wasn't as good as i remember it. Flavor wasn't there at all. The bread that they started you with was overall my favorite. They have a great dessert menu with options, but i wasn't satisfied with what i tried. Staff was friendly and you got enough attention during the dinner. Should i go back there, i will, and if the food hit the spot, i will change my review.

Fabulous restaurant. Amazing atmosphere!! Gorgeous welcoming gardens!!! Food and service matched the wonderful atmosphere!!! The owner is fantastic - Susan Handy - extremely interesting and knowledgeable on the history of Nantucket. My favorite restaurant on the island!

Yelp
Well isn't this place just the cutest. The garden in the front of the restaurant is so pretty. The dining rooms inside are really nice as well. I'd highly recommended The Chanticleer for any meal of the day, in any of their many dining areas. But, if you can snag an outdoor reservation on a nice day, you should do so. They do have some heated outdoor seating areas for cooler days. As far as the food goes, we each had to order the Lobster BLT and we split the Bluefish Pate. My goodness, please order these. They're amazing.

Yelp
We visited after a bike ride in from town. Great ambiance - try to snag a table outside in the garden especially on a nice day. The ambiance inside is a bit darker/old, but the lightness outside is fantastic. Overall felt like an elevated casual vibe, though I cannot speak for dinner service. The food is good, there are some hints of Asian fusion in the menu. The wine menu is insanely large. Great spot for a nice lunch or dinner.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
We went to the Chanticleer for lunch, and sat outside in the shaded portico. We shared a Caesar salad, and I had the lamb bolognese while my wife had a lobster BLT. We found the food, location, and ambience to be lovely, and well worth the money.

Yelp
Make reservations ahead of time. I'm told that it is hard to get into this restaurant. The garden is beautiful when you walk in. You have the option of dining in the garden area. It is a U shape and is undercover. We weren't sure if it would be covered so we chose the formal dining area that over looks the backyard/ garden. We had Paula as our waitress and her assistant Darwin. They both were efficient and nice. Everything was fresh. Everyone liked the most the bluefish pâté with their homemade chips. The tuna tartar was delicious as well. The halibut was great with zucchini. The oysters were good as well. No one was dissatisfied. The wine list is quite pricey. Locals had suggestions for other places to eat because they said it is to expensive. However, really the food is not to expensive. It's the beverages at $19 a glass and the wine that is $200 and up. If you keep that in mind, anyone can go there and enjoy the experience. The table ordered various desatara and those too were delicious. I think next time we will go for lunch and eat in the garden for the experience and beauty. Enjoy! PS. You will need a car or Uber. This is on the coast and not close to the Main Street area of downtown.

Yelp
Have you ever seen the movie "Somewhere In Time" with Christopher Reeve? It's about time travel in a elegant resort. Even if you don't know the movie you will be transported to another place and time when you dine at The Chanticleer. Elegant gardens, a traditional me me menu welcome you in. Prompt and prompt service. The smoked salmon omelette was very good. My husband said he had never had a burger that was as fresh and hot. I'd recommend lunch so you have plenty of daylight to enjoy the gardens.

Yelp
Has been a consistent favorite for many years. Ambiance great if you sit outside, BUT Menu has become stale and narrow; service has really dropped off. I had a bus person literally grab the water bottle from me as I was topping off one of my guests. Aggressively. I've worked in plenty of restaurants, good ones, and eaten in far more and never got borderline assaulted by a restaurant employee like that. Maybe training is poor. Menu is limited and very samey-samey; not much innovation here or local options as new things come into season. The ultimate insult this year was a $25 melon and prosciutto app that had the barest sliver of non-ripe tasteless melon. I live where you get cantaloupe fresh off the vine at roadside stands, hours old, that are soft and sweet; delicious. Chanticleer should be sourcing these if they are charging $25. It was hard, tasteless, and absolutely tiny. An embarrassment in my view to the chef. I never would serve such a thing to a guest. Or myself. The bolognese was good but also super pricey for basic pasta. Dessert is basically same list as always. I make a far better key lime pie at home. "Marco Pierre white Eton mess" would be improved with more and riper fruit, and perhaps a touch of framboise liqueur. Just average versus what it could be, which is a theme here. I just don't think the kitchen cares about food quality or creativity anymore and they just want to crank out max volume for the short 3 months they have to cover costs. The problem with that approach is: regular customers such as ourselves (we have spent thousands here) just stop coming. I'd eat there 5 or 10 times a summer if it were as incredible as it used to be. But it's "off our list" now. Summer House down the street finally got its act together after years of ineptitude (new kitchen and service crew from palm beach) and it's the best option in sconset now (in our opinion) for a diner who wants to feel good about spending $100 a head.

Sherry K.

Yelp
I would expect the Chanticleer to have impeccable service, but we were rushed through our dinner and barely attended to. Rushed to order, and then our plates were whisked away before we'd finished and the bill put down immediately. The waiter then came back 3 times in as many minutes to urge us to put our credit cards in. All in all, trying to get us in and out in less than an hour. This is an expensive restaurant, and should have been a highlight to our time on Nantucket. But we felt like we were at a fast food restaurant that tries to turn over tables as many times as possible. Huge disappointment.

Yelp
Thoroughly Enjoy this restaurant every year when we go to NANTUCKET. It's a must when you visit Nantucket.

Yelp
Beautiful, delicious food. Perfect for a special occasion. Kind and caring staff, and a gorgeous setting. We sat outside and got to admire the flower gardens, but the inside is just as charming.

Yelp
Ordered the Catch of the Day which was salmon and a virgin mojito. The salmon was out of this world in a lemony sauce on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes accompanied by vegetables. Service was quick. The ambiance is beautiful, make sure not to leave without snapping a picture in front of their garden.

Yelp
The courtyard is beautiful, so eating outside was nice. The food was 5 star. The service was perfect.

Yelp
The Chanticleer is a bit stuck in time, as its more of an old-school fine-dining experience. The food was good, but there was nothing inventive by any stretch of the imagination. I think the best part about the restaurant was the extensive wine list. There was something for everyone on there, both in palate and in wallet.
google avatar

Yelp
I had a rough couple of days and needed some alone time to gather my wits. I had been traveling 3 days with my 3 yo grandson trying to get to Nantucket. It was nerve wracking. I thought a lovely lunch was in order. The Chanticleer graciously welcomed me. The restaurant's setting is gorgeous and serene. My entree and wine was perfect. I can't wait to return and I won't wait for an emotional emergency to visit again.

Yelp
Ambiance was amazing. The food was good even though the menu was in comic sans. We shared the oysters, little gem salad and roasted beets amongst the five of us for appetizers. I had the halibut for dinner that was served on a potato purée. This is one of those places for a special night where you can enjoy the upscale ambiance and good food. It's worth it just to see the garden. I was too excited about the garden to get any pictures of the food...sorry.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service was excellent! One cannot beat the Ambience of sitting g outside in a rose garden!

Yelp
My husband and I ate here for lunch on the last day of our honeymoon just over a week ago. It was the first day they were opening for lunch, the start of the season, so there weren't many people there. It was very quiet, which I enjoyed. We were immediately greeted by a hostess with a smile and brought to our table looking out into the garden with the cute horse statue from a merry-go-round. Our waiter was very nice, explaining they were training other waiters as this was their first lunch open. All of our several waiters were nice and attentive! I got the lobster toast, which was very good. I also had a sangria which was certainly on the higher end of $$ for one lunch drink, but it was delicious! We had a very pleasant experience and will be coming back to the Chanticleer on our next trip. The only negative was that it was rather chilly in the room. Since it was raining and chilly outside in general, I hoped it would've been a little warmer inside, but it didn't dampen our experience.

Yelp
Aside from the oysters with the slightly odd, sweet interpretation of a mignonette sauce, everything else was outstanding. I had the halibut, wife had the filet mignon. Best on Nantucket, couldn't have been better!!

Yelp
A place with delicious food, excellent service, and beautiful ambiance. No complaints here... would definitely return!!

Yelp
A solid 4.5 because of the superior food preparation and service on a not-too-busy Sunday night. We were seated in the "Club Room" not far from the small bar and immediately along the entryway to the room. Not sure why, since there was an ample number of tables throughout the room, away from the constant foot traffic. Drinks were excellent [$19 & $16] and did not carry the extra-crazy price of downtown's Club Car [$24].

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Amazing food from top to bottom. Great service. Delicious wine. Great martini. Best oysters to start all the way through best dessert (we got the coconut cheesecake pie) ! Definitely a splurge but the entire meal was worth ever penny !!

Mb S.

Yelp
I will say the atmosphere and setting is lovely. Sadly, what used to be a wonderful French restaurant has become something without an identifiable direction. The seafood appetizers were very good oysters and cerviche. The entree menu is a little Asian, a little Italian and a little American. The Asian shrimp was a mix of vegetables, mushroom ravioli and 2 jumbo shrimps which were very salty (47$). Lamb bolognese was ok, more filling than tasty. Additionally, it was the second time we ordered a wine and they brought an older vintage which was past its peak and charged us the same price. We should not have accepted it but my husband was ok with drinking it. Overall disappointed. We miss the reliably delicious French restaurant.

Yelp
This is a very beautiful and classy restaurant. The outside seating area is comfortable with beautiful views. I ordered the lobster roll with sweet potato fries. My meal was absolutely delicious. For dessert, indulged in a wonderful cup of coffee. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Eve V.

Yelp
Fantastic dinner spot for locals and special occasions! Halibut and salmon were perfection. Oysters were already dressed--the seasoning was not to our taste. Was like italian dressing on an oyster.

Roger W.

Yelp
Still a star on the island. Although somewhat upscale, they serve the best hamburger on the island. A mix of short rib and beef and pure heaven. You can't do Nantucket without Chanticleer
google avatar

Meghan H.

Yelp
Lovely lunch in Sconset! We share a heirloom tomato app and the Smash Burger - with the best French fries I've ever had! Can't beat the garden for lunch on a fall day.

Yelp
Reviewing here because for some reason I am blocked from doing so on their Facebook page and their Messenger has been taken out of service. We had a five star meal here two years ago, and last year when we were on the island for Daffodil Days they weren't open for the year yet. I was quite anxious to be able to go this year, and was doubly excited when we found out our visit would coincide with Restaurant Week, and had planned out our dishes at our favorite five restaurants. When we arrived we requested a table in the back porch area of the restaurant but were told those seats were reserved, but our entire time there they were empty. We were given the cheapest seat in the house, the first along the wall where you get the opportunity to get hit in the head by every large pocketbook that enters the restaurant. After planning our meals for the week we were given a menu which was totally different than the one which they had posted as their restaurant week menu, which meant our plans went further awry. Had I not spent $30 on a cab to get there we would have left. I ended up with a tenderloin for a $10 upcharge that was uncharacteristically salty. My wife had cavatappi and lamb meatballs, which turned out to be a meal unworthy of the quality of this restaurant's reputation. We will sit this one out on future trips given its a $60 cab ride to and fro plus a pretty expensive dinner. I have expected some accomodation to be made by the restaurant but there has been none.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in Nantucket. Had never been here until my most recent trip and will never not include it in my itinerary from now on. It's fabulous. Food is amazing and atmosphere is dreamy. The lobster BLT was out of this world.

Yelp
Great place for a romantic dinner capping off a great day exploring Nantucket Island. The atmosphere is incredible, very inviting and gives you a feel of paradise. The food was great, the wine selection was plentiful and great as well! What put us over was our server Gary who was very professional, knowledgeable, and gave us an incredible experience! I would also add, please make sure you have planned a ride back into town as the taxi situation can be dicey. Thank you to Gary once again and the 2 great hostesses for accommodating us with a way to get a ride back for our ferry (just in time)!!!

Yelp
Enjoyed a fantastic dinner last evening at Chanticleer. Started with a Cosmo, which my husband always teases me about, because I'm very particular about how its made. They give good Cosmo! Appetizers were Caesar salad and tuna tartare. The Caesar was very nice, but don't miss the tuna tartare. I've never had a preparation like it- it's a terrible style, spicy, with grilled scallion pancakes. Fantastic and almost a meal in itself. For main plates we had salmon and halibut. The halibut was a huge potion, Provençal style and my husband could barely finish it. We always enjoy Chanticleer, but last night dinner was really over the top good. And, I must mention our server, Lucas. He was delightful, friendly and really made our evening.
google avatar

Lexie B.

Yelp
The absolute rudest staff I have ever encountered! I went around 11:30 during a non rush hour lunch, maybe a fourth of the tables were filled. The hostess rudely stated that she wouldn't seat our party because we didn't have a reservation, and any attempts to make a reservation online or by phone were turned down. Upon leaving, a server stopped us to ask why we weren't being seated. We told him they wouldn't let us in without a reservation, and he plainly asked the hostess "why can't we seat them?" in front of us. I didn't stay to hear her answer. Maybe it's worth visiting if you have a reservation, but good luck getting one!

Christine M.

Yelp
A lovely garden evening. Staff was very attentive and welcoming. Our food was delicious! Extra points for the beautiful garden ambience. Reserve in advance and outdoors if you can! Made our reservation 30 days in advance.

Danielle K.

Yelp
Wow. This place is SPECIAL. A must visit. It is so charming and the food is delicious. We sat out front in the gardens. Everything we ate was delicious. I liked the mussels more than the carrot soup. But entrees were delicious! Highly recommend for a date night or dinner with friends

David G.

Yelp
One of the best on the island. Great food and professional service. Extensive wine list. Very well informed sommelJust pricey. Love the lobster cocktail to start. And the halibut is wonderful. Love the snickerdoodle brownie desert. Only so so dish we've had was a rock shrimp amatriciana during restaurant week which was just bland. But overall one of our "go to" places for special events. We did take out during pandemic. It was superb. As good as being here. Salmon wonderful. Steak Diane sublime. Going back for outdoor dining later this month!!

Marc F.

Yelp
Mask a must which is a great thing. Good separation between tables. The service was excellent and the waitress paid attention. We never had to wait and the food came quickly. The food was fantastic with specials that you We'd to pay attention to. On the pricy side but when we go to a good restaurant I don't want to look at the price.

Yelp
The Chanticleer is outstanding all around! We thoroughly enjoyed a summer lunch/early dinner in the garden. The atmosphere among the perennial flowerbeds and climbing roses can't be surpassed. Everything from cocktails and appetizers to entries, wine and dessert was beautifully presented and delicious. The service was friendly, gracious and gently attentive. This was my third meal at The Chanticleer. Each time it was completely wonderful.

Karen G.

Yelp
We have been coming to Nantucket for years but never had the opportunity to have dinner at Chanticleer until now. The atmosphere is charming and quaint. Seating indoors or out the ambiance is lovely. The service was impeccable from the minute we checked in with very attentive staff ensuring all our needs were being met! And the meal... simply fabulous! Ahi Tuna Tartar, Organic Mesclun Spring Mix to start with Halibut a la Provençal and Organic Salmonfor the Main dishes. First class, fine dining all the way! Gentlemen are required to wear a suit jacket however some were not, which seems a shame in my opinion.

Anne D.

Yelp
We went for a special occasion and were looking forward to our evening. The ambiance was beautiful and that is where it ended. The waiter took 1 hour to take our orders and the dinner went downhill from there. My wine was served spoiled and discolored and the waiter became combative and defensive when shown until he finally took it back, only to realize it had gone bad. After a 2 hr wait for the food, three of the 4 dinners were bad. The shrimp was about the saltiest dish anyone had eaten. The Angus steak and vegetables were either tasteless or terrible and had a consistency that made the whole thing inedible. The halibut was good which is why we have given this 2 stars instead of 1. We had brought a birthday cake to the restaurant and after such a terrible meal and experience we asked for the cake and left; which the staff had handled carelessly, damaging the cake. Ultimately, the restaurant took the shrimp and steak off the check but we would have much rather not gone home hungry as two people didn't eat at all. We have dined at the Chanticleer earlier in the summer and the food was good which is why we returned. Last night was so awful that we will not be returning. If management had attended to either the long wait for the food, the uncomfortable service, the spoiled wine, or the bad food it would have gone a little ways towards showing that they cared about their clients, but they did not!

Tracy G.

Yelp
I made a reservation on September 15 for our 28th anniversary on October 10. When asked if my reservation was for any special occasion I indicated that it was for our anniversary and requested a table in the dining room with a view if possible. We arrived on time and were given a table near the service area and the swinging kitchen door. When I requested to be moved to one of the empty tables for 2 near the windows I was told that they were reserved. Our only option was to move to a large round table in the middle of the dining room. The 2 hostesses at the front desk on the evening of October 10th were snippy and rude. The 2 tables for 2 people by the windows sat empty until about 5 minutes before we finished our meal. I will not return and will let anyone know who asks that the resturant service in terrible. :(

Yelp
It was my first time dining at The Chanticleer. We had a wonderful dinner! The ambiance was elegant. The service was excellent. The food was outstanding. A great place for a high-end, special-event (e.g. - birthday, anniversary) experience. A new favorite for sure.

Yelp
Top notch nantucket dining at it's best. If it's nice out, definitely opt for garden seating. The halibut was out of this world good. Some other reviews mentioned it was pricey, even for Nantucket, I didn't find that to be true. I thought the pricing was in line with all the other nicer places on the island, but the food was above and beyond everywhere else. The whole menu looked great, but I'm not sure I could pass up the halibut on my next visit.

Yelp
we had dinner here last week during resturant week, the food and service was outstanding. I had a pasta dish that was amazing. I was impressed with the level of detail on their service...may be the best food and service on the island and the price during resturant week was a great deal..I will go back again this summer.

Yelp
I am very sad to write this review, because I have enjoyed this restaurant throughout my life and it has been a Nantucket institution. I called the restaurant to make a reservation and purchase a gift card for my friends who would be honeymooning in Nantucket. My card was charged. Three weeks later, I am horrified to find out that although my friends had a reservation, there was no gift card put towards the purchase. Imagine my embarrassment to direct my friends there, have them order as if someone were paying for them on their honeymoon, and then have to stress about paying the bill themselves! I would not have even known this happened if they hadn't told me, sheepishly. I tried calling the restaurant that evening, to no avail. A few days later, someone called me back, appropriately apologetic, and said they would be refunding my gift and they wanted to send them a note. I gave the restaurant my friend's address for them to do so. What the restaurant ended up doing is not to refund my money, but instead to refund my friend a portion of their dinner. The intention and experience of the gift was totally ruined, and instead of a refund as they said they would provide, I had to pay for it anyway. So basically the restaurant did nothing to ameliorate an extremely unfortunate and embarrassing situation. I wrote them to explain this was not appropriate, with no response. This is not how hospitality at this echelon and price point should function.

Yelp
First of all, Chanticleer, get your Yelp together and change that title... "Chanticleer the"? How am I only the 2nd person to review this place? I wish I had more reviews to compare mine with, but the Chanticleer is some of the absolute best food I've ever had. My family and I were going absolutely ballistic over every appetizer and entree, and I dare say the sea bass I had was one of the best meals of all time, Nantucket to NYC. It's a bit of a drive from town, located in Sconset, but it's worth every minute of the (15 minutes, TOPS) trek. The garden outside is beautiful, but bizarre. An old, garish carousel house throws off an otherwise gorgeous and robust flower garden at the entrance to the restaurant. Red-checkered tablecloths dress the picnic tables outside as well, which seem out of place, but I'm ok with as it takes the stuffiness down a notch. The dining room is definitely uptight to the max - white tablecloth, doilies, crystal stemware, 3 different types of salt (I learned that Himalayan salt is salmon pink. Tastes completely the same as white salt.) If you're able to get a reservation outside, I'd say hands-down go for that option. Now, the food. An absolute hit parade. We had chilled lobster cocktail over guacamole (probably my 2 favorite things in the entire world, combined in a martini glass.) I had a Tuna tartare served dressed with a cucumber salad and a scallion pancake, cut into wedges. The tuna was bright red with a fresh kick from the cucumber. Awesome, so refreshing. The scallion pancakes were a little greasy, but a perfect contrast with the light fish. The Heirloom Tomatoes with Mozzarella, dressed with pesto and pine nuts, were the absolute epitome of a summer appetizer. Tomatoes were massive, bursting, and mozzarella light and almost whipped on top of each slice. My least favorite was a crispy softshell crab, but it seemed to be the crowd-pleaser among my family. And those were just the appetizers. My parents split a steak, sister had a kobe beef burger - unusual choices for the island famous for its seafood, but great nonetheless. The steak was absolutely massive, enough for probably 3 people, and was served with a buttery pate and bernaise sauce. Onto the nominee for "best thing I've ever eaten" - the sea bass. It was on special, and I can only hope they make it a more permanent part of the menu. The soft, grilled sea bass - topped with the greenest, crunchiest pesto I've ever had - was served with ripe fava beans in a lobster broth, with chunks of lobster, minuscule bites of potato and flecks of white onion, and an onion ring on top. Augh. Out of this world. Please, please, please try Chanticleer when on Nantucket. Can guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
My husband takes me here for lunch as a treat while he's working in this area. I absolutely love the food!! So fresh, healthy, delicious and very large portions. My favorites are the fried green tomatoes, the chicken salad and soup. And as a treat you MUST try the home-made white chocolate chip cookies!!! The service is excellent. I rave about this place to all my friends. Next time I go I am buying a dozen cookies to take home.

Yelp
One of my favorite charming neighborhood places on the Island. I live in Sconset on the weekends during the summer and this is one of my go to staples. I usually sit in the grill room as I find it more casual than the formal dinning room and outside in the courtyard. I always go for dinner and it's great because it is always easy to get a reservation for 5-6 (we usually sit in the table in the back left corner), perfect for a family dinner or dinner with close friends. Latley I have been getting the "special" tuna tartar and swordfish. They are both exceptionally delicious and are presented perfectly. A few of their staples include the bolognese, the burger and the Maine Lobster in Marie Rose Cocktail Sauce. For drinks, I am always drawn to their range of napa chardonnays. Not usually a fan but they have a great full bodied one that I am forgetting the name of. All around a great neighborhood place that is easy to get a reservation and great to go with a group. Service is excellent and the atmosphere is so cute. If you want a quintessential Nantucket restaurant this is the place.

Yelp
What a great spot for another boozy afternoon in the summer. Sitting along the perimeter of the garden on a nice shaded patio with trellises intertwined with roses sipping on a.....rose. Somehow it feels so.......French. The garden is a beautiful setting for lunch and the service and food more than complement the entire experience. I can't really say it was overpriced for everything involved. Sometimes you need to spend a bit extra to escape. The wood paneled front room inside the restaurant looked prime for a dark little dinner one night with the wife and a great burgundy or just a great burgundy. A walk around town after lunch and another glass of rose at the Summer House just topped off the afternoon. Life doesn't get any better. (The owner sold the restaurant a few years ago and opened a place on Islamorada in the Florida Keys which has since, unfortunately, closed.)

Yelp
Was restaurant week but we arrived early and very few tables were taken at that point. We waited almost 90 minutes for entrees to arrive. We were repeatedly told dinner will be right out. Romantic setting for our 25th anniversary. Food was at best ok, but we won't be going back. Disappointing for a big anniversary

Yelp
No better place for a splurge lunch than Chanticleer. Both of our lunches were equally good and bountiful. It is lucky we had another eight miles to go to work it off.

Yelp
The food was great the waiters were great but when we walked in we were in beach cloths and other people were dressed nice and we asked to sit in the front. They then said they had reservations and directed us to the back even though we saw multiple open tables outside on the way in and the way out. I felt that they hid us because we were a little under dressed so I did not really appreciate that. After we sat down it still was a good experience however.
