The Charlee Hotel

I had an amazing stay at The Charlee Hotel for my Bad Bunny concert. From the moment I arrived with my partner, the service was excellent, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed. The hotel is beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and offers an upscale yet comfortable atmosphere. The staff was attentive at all times, and despite the lively nightlife in the area, the rooms are well soundproofed, with earplugs provided for extra comfort. The location is perfect close to great restaurants, nightlife, and shopping. Special thanks to Mauricio, Anderson, and Jessica they were outstanding and went above and beyond to make our stay smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

The concierge team truly elevated our stay, and Jessica deserves special recognition. From the moment we arrived, she was warm, professional, and incredibly attentive. She took the time to understand our preferences and provided thoughtful, spot-on recommendations for dining, local attractions, and transportation. Every request—big or small—was handled promptly and with genuine care. Jessica’s exceptional knowledge of the area, combined with her positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond, made our experience seamless and stress-free. Bottom line: I had a great experience in my recent week at The Charlee Hotel. The room was spacious and included a separate living/sitting room with a great view of Medellin. The hotel is in a noisy area, but with the windows closed in the sitting room and the sliding door to the sitting room shut, it was quiet. There are restaurants, shops, bars, and parks all within a short walk of the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Housekeeping did a great job (thank you, Liseth). Breakfast there was good with a selection of fruit, breads, cheeses, and eggs to order. They also offered a menu option. The rooftop bar had a beautiful view, but I preferred the bar on the first floor for its better service (thank you, Viviana). The concierge, Jessica, was absolutely amazing, providing me restaurant and Colombian literature recommendations and also giving me a small gift in appreciation of my staying at the hotel.

The staff in the lobby and restaurant were super friendly, but the rooftop bar? Not so much. There was a live band, and as hotel guests, we thought we'd get first dibs on enjoying the vibe, but nope, we were told to stand at the bar because most tables were reserved. It was open to the public and packed, so we ended up leaving since there was nowhere comfy to eat and drink. The beds were a bit too firm for me, and the rooms could use more light. Other than that, it was really clean, had a quick little elevator, and the restaurant food was good. Plus, the hotel's location is perfect, close to everything!

This is my first time writing a review. Unfortunately, my experience at the Charlee Hotel did not meet my expectations for a five-star property, especially given the price. I have stayed at many five-star hotels, and this was my least favorite experience. I’ll start with the positives. The service from the front desk staff and the team outside the hotel was excellent. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Another strong point is the hotel’s great location. Now for the areas where there are clear opportunities for improvement. We found a roach on the desk in our room. While this was very unpleasant, I would have let it pass if it had been the only issue. Unfortunately, there were several others. The Nespresso machine in the room did not work, and the curtain rod fell down on its own. In addition, the room felt poorly maintained—for example, the bathroom ceiling (see photo). Finally, service at the hotel restaurant was very slow; we waited over 30 minutes for scrambled eggs. To end on a positive note, Medellín is a beautiful city, and its people are truly wonderful.

My wife and I spent 3 nights here, largely due to the positive TA reviews. While the hotel is pretty nice, we found it very inconsistent.||On the plus side, it’s in a great neighborhood - lots of good restaurants and bars nearby. Also, the front desk people and housekeeping were top notch.||We also loved their happy hour. They bring a bar cart to your room around 5-6:00 with a free drink. I have not seen that before.||We didn’t spend anytime at the rooftop bar and pool but they looked great. ||Mixed results for the room. I inadvertently got a slight upgrade from a Spice suite to an Acqua suite with a jacuzzi in the extra room. The bedroom and bathroom were fine. The extra room, however, didn’t add any value. The jacuzzi took up a lot of space and really made the suite look dated. The furniture in the extra room was extremely cheap. The only light put off light equivalent to a small candle. ||The biggest problem with our stay was the loud music from nearby bars and the hotel’s rooftop bar (one night). We were on the 6th floor so I suspect that a lot of rooms have the issue. The noise was a bigger problem for my wife. She slept poorly every night, even with ear plugs. ||A disappointing breakfast was included in our room rate. Not a lot of variety and the service and food were uneven. E.g. hard fruit; some hot dishes were cold; inconsistent service,||For our ride to the airport we made the mistake of booking a taxi through the hotel because the taxi supposedly took credit cards. They didn’t. They also charged us 25% more than our inbound taxi. We should have stayed with our original plan and used Uber.||I liked some aspects of the hotel a lot but probably wouldn’t stay here again due to the noise issues and the below average breakfast.

Wow what an amazing vacation. This was my wife and my first time ever coming to Colombia from Boston and it was one of our best vacations ever. We luckily travel a lot and can say The Charlee was top notch. We had the executive room which was worth every penny. One night a private chef cooked in a room another night we had massages in our room. All for amazing prices. Also, the staff was great and spoke very good English which was a huge help. We are already planning our next visit

We had an amazing time at the hotel. Very happy with the service, the food was so good, the room was nice and spacious and even had a large living room enclosed terrace that could be separated with a glass door so you don’t hear the street noise. The staff were so professional and friendly. We were with kids and Poblado is mainly clubs for adults but it’s a very vibrant area with lots of restaurants and it was easy to commute with Uber to so many places. We loved it!
