This was my first time visiting Charleston. I can't wait to go back. When I do, I'll definitely stay at The Charleston Place! My company hosted a client conference there last week and our attendees had a fabulous time. To say this is a beautiful hotel is an understatement. Stately and elegant, yet comfortable, are words that come to mind. It has all the big hotel amenities you want, but it has the feel of a small boutique hotel- especially in terms of service, care and attention to detail. Every member of the hotel staff from front desk to housekeeping to the banquet managers executed with perfection. I actually saw hotel staff members plumping the throw pillows on the sofas and chairs! Giving attention to every detail, no matter how small, is IMO what distinguishes a great hotel from an okay hotel. Our conference attendees participated in several of the hotel's advertised activities including the cooking class, pub tour and carriage ride, and had a fantastic time. If you can, get a room with a balcony. Mine was on the fourth floor overlooking Market Street and I enjoyed the view. The room was lovely, quiet, and well-appointed with comfy bedding. Ordered room service at breakfast and the crab benedict was sinfully delicious. Definitely recommend!

From check in to check out, we felt truly taken care of! It was a wonderful experience, and that’s just the word I’d use to describe it! Experience! For my birthday, they had flowers and bar drinks waiting in the room after our long day at the beach! It was truly special. Bessis was the most wonderful bell hop & helper. He truly loved and cared for his job and the hotel guests! We will definitely be back.

Pros: Super great location. Downtown Charleston, easy to walk to just about everything. The staff is incredibly nice and thoughtful and kind. Cons: Rooms insulation is terrible. You can hear everything next door and hallway. Absolutely terrible. I have stayed at lodging road motels that are quieter. For what they charge it is ridiculous that they cannot provide better insulation from noise for their guests. Cons: construction - their courtyard is under construction, which happens but they had no shame in charging extra for balconies overlooking the construction. Not a classy move. More cons: their valet service is hard to manage to get your car because of the construction. So regardless of what time you ask for your car be prepared to wait additional 20-30 minutes, even if you call an hour ahead. So if you need your car for 2:30, tell them you need it for 2 and be prepared to go down and wait. So to summarize - incredible staff, worthy of a 5 star hotel. Terrible facilities, dated rooms, and building structure, worthy of a 1 star. Make your own decisions.

Stayed here 3 nights Aug 22-25 for a birthday getaway. Service was excellent around the hotel including the Palmetto cafe for breakfast each day and the Thoroughbred Club (special mention to Chris our waiter) for lunch and amazing curated specialty cocktails. Greg our driver from the hotel went above and beyond with great service. We loved the access to the shops downtown within the hotel and were always greeted with hellos from everyone when walking around the property. The gym was perfect size. Equipment seems new and it was very clean. The Outdoor Markets are less than a 3 minute walk from the hotel if that is something you’re interested in seeing. Yes there is currently construction at the original main entrance but they have done a good job of working around that and we were given several updates via email reminding us of the construction prior to our stay. Would stay here again for sure. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

Charleston Place is elegant with superb accommodations and staff that go well above and beyond expectations. From the moment you drive up, you feel welcome and pampered. We've returned many times and have never disappointed. The Thoroughbred Club and the on-site restaurants are exceptional! We always love the live music. Such a positive experience!

Google
The hotel is going through a “Re-imaginations”, so unfortunately there is no access to the pool (other hotels will give you a free day pass) and there is a bit of noise. Otherwise everything was fantastic! Excellent food, clean & comfortable rooms, and an ideal location! Definitely make time to check out the spa and make an appointment with Heather for a facial! She is thoughtful, thorough, extremely knowledgeable, and absolutely a sweet human being! The rest of staff is also SUPERIOR! I was under the weather with a cold virus and they sent complimentary tea to my room, fresh towels & linens, and accommodated my every need without hesitation. In addition, the staff was very helpful allowing me to check out early. A HUGE shoutout to Teresa Patterson for proactively following up on my billing to insure it was correct and I was not overcharged for my early departure. This hotel exceeded my expectations. Thank you! Danielle Jones

My husband and I recently stayed at The Charleston Place to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and the experience was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly special. A beautiful welcome awaited us in our room with champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries thoughtfully arranged, setting the tone for a memorable stay. The room itself exuded southern charm and elegance, creating the perfect atmosphere for our celebration. We decided to upgrade to the Club Level when we arrived, and I’m so glad we did. It offered a peaceful retreat with light bites and picturesque views—an ideal spot to relax and recharge. I also want to highlight the outstanding service provided by the concierge team. They ensured we had a driver available for all of our outings, making everything seamless and stress-free. A special shoutout to our driver, Greg—he was fantastic. After picking us up from dinner one evening, he took the time to show us some hidden gems around the city, sharing rich stories and history along the way. It was such a thoughtful gesture that added a meaningful layer to our trip. Before ending the night, we stopped by Thoroughbred Club for dessert and drinks, and it was the perfect way to close out the evening—delicious and beautifully presented. Overall, our stay exceeded every expectation. Charleston Place made our anniversary truly special, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. It may just become our new favorite getaway.

Wow. This is now our favorite hotel and we travel a lot. Always adventuring trying new places yet we are already planning a return trip! John was a great bellhop, Maria at the coffee shop, and Eric at front desk. They try to use your name which so impressed. They work HARD to serve 6 star service and it blew us away. Wow. 15 years experience in the service industry and this was next level impressive! The staff has “it” and they love working there!

Yelp
Loved being there during the Christmas. It gave me the Christmas spirit. Impressive displays, sugar cookies, hot chocolates, and even snow. Ate at the Sports Bar, excellent food and service. The bed was comfy! The rain shower was the best. Fancy and every staff person gave amazing service

Yelp
Christmas at the Charleston Place Hotel My wife and I have stayed at this 5-star hotel more times than I can remember. During the Christmas season, it is the center of holiday activity for the entire city and do a great job decorating for the holidays - maybe the best in the country. It is truly spectacular! But this can be both a blessing and a curse. The hotel is overrun by locals and tourists wanting to see all the decorations. For anyone staying at the hotel and paying for 5-star services, it is best to forget this time of year. Room service is not an option. You can call and get no answer. You can leave a message, with no response. The front desk is not helpful and never answered their phone when we called! The only other option for breakfast is the Palmetto Cafe. We waited one and a half hours for a table, only to find one server for the entire restaurant. A large section of the restaurant was closed off due to the lack of staff but we were told it was because of a roof leak. The odd thing was that later on, people were seated in this area! Most of the people at the restaurant were not hotel guests. Hotel guests are forced to wait or go elsewhere. We did not attempt to go back after the first experience. The only option was to wait in the long line at the coffee shop. There is one bar at the hotel. This too required long waits (45 minutes+). There were many tables available but only one bartender and a couple of table servers. Sections of the bar are closed off, presumably because there is no staff to support additional paying customers. Long lines of people are common, who get to witness this mismanagement. You can leave your phone number for an available table (in 45 minutes) but never receive a text. Ultimately this is a hotel management failure. Adding staff during busy holiday periods should be standard. I think of all of the revenue lost, the long lines of miserable people witnessing bad management and the endless excuses as to why you have to wait another 30 minutes which turns out to be 45 minutes or more. A good reputation is very difficult to attain, but very easy to lose. We had booked the hotel using a 'fine hotels and resorts' booking which includes 'free breakfast' each day. To utilize this benefit would require a lot of time, patience and frustration, but it is just not worth it. Imagine that. Free breakfast at a 5-star hotel is not worth the hassle. I would recommend visiting Charleston Place during the holiday season but do not book a room here and expect 5-star service. There are many other great hotels in the area that were not overwhelmed and provided full services to their guests.

Yelp
Snow, Christmas trees, the largest gingerbread house and did I mention snow. Looking for something free to do with the kids. Go and see the tree, watch the snow while sipping hot chocolate. You don't need a ticket just jump in line outside nearest the market entrance. After the snow show go inside and see the largest gingerbread house ever. Don't forget to see the polar Express train set it pretty dang amazing.

Yelp
The Charleston Place, an iconic landmark in Charleston's historic district, is a must-visit during the holiday season. Beautifully decorated, it features a "snowfall" of bubbles around a stunning Christmas tree. Guests can enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and cookies after the show, making it a magical experience for all ages. I have to take away one star as the price of the buffet is simply outrageous.
google avatar

Allison B.

Yelp
Probably the most beautiful hotel in downtown Charleston! Particularly, at Christmas time. Strolling through the halls that are exquisitely decorated for Christmas, taking kids to visit the big train on display, and stopping in at the bar for a drink. It's definitely a Christmas tradition!

Yelp
Lovely, iconic place - we're happy to have revisited. It's a top-notch hotel; please note that any issue noted below is mentioned only in light of not achieving _perfection_ . . . and the issues were only noteworthy because almost everything about our visit to The Charleston Place _was_ perfect. Gloriously clean and beautiful - and efficient. Every staffer was friendly and caring - that's remarkable. Our room was well and efficiently designed, comfortably appointed and well maintained (with two small exceptions - a broken hinge on balcony door and slow draining bathroom sink were tiny flaws that did not diminish our enjoyment of our stay). The bell staff could have been better organized, but that could have just been an off moment. There was actually a problem during our stay (the water had to be turned off to the entire hotel for several hours) but that just goes to show you that things can happen at even this class of hotel and what matters was the management response: The Charleston Place management handled it perfectly and almost totally mitigated all inconvenience to the guests. Nice! We have visited The Charleston Place before and we certainly would like to visit again.

Yelp
Gorgeous hotel downtown Charleston! I loved everything about our stay - especially being at the Club level. The rooms were comfortable but not the highlight (a/c was very noisy, and beds too soft). Overall - I would be back in the old world glamour.

Yelp
I've never stayed at Charleston Place, but I've walked through plenty of time. The shops are high end so if you're looking for luxury in Charleston this is where to go for you Gucci and LV. They. have plenty of other stores if that's not in your budget. Plus you will want to walk through the lobby to see their amazing decor which is always changing. The best time to go is the holidays as they do one of the best displays in Charleston and at certain times it even snows out front (they have a schedule of times online)... how fun is that.

Yelp
I had the great fortune of staying at the Charleston Place hotel, and I had access to the Club Lounge. One of the best club lounges I've ever been to - the folks are very friendly, there's always hot coffee/tea and beverages available, and when the food comes out, it hits the spot. Finger sandwiches, salads, fresh fruits and vegetables, soups and rice, fresh breads, you name it. It truly was a decision every day whether to eat at the lounge or venture out to one of Charleston's eateries. So beware if you're staying at Charleston Place - you might find yourself with the same conundrum!

Yelp
The property is great. Guest services staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was ready after 4pm which was disappointing but we spent time in the Thoroughbred Club. Chris, bartender, was fabulous. Live music in the lobby (harp and piano) were fantastic. We had a Club Level room. The room and housekeeping (Lana) were great. While we were a bit dissapointed in the overall Club atmosphere, the Club staff were certainly attentive and what you'd expect from that kind of experience.

Yelp
Food was great! We went on Sunday for the buffet. There was an omelet station, a carving station, fruit, pastries, and much more. Once we eat our fill we headed to the dessert table. It did not disappoint! My favorite thing was the cheesecake pops. The chocolate ratio to cheesecake was perfect with a dusting of graham cracker. Yum!

Yelp
A wonderful place! Came here on Christmas Eve before we enjoyed a lovely dinner. We arrived at the front and walked through the wonderfuly decorated trees. It's dog friendly which is great, bring your doggo! We walked around the back and came just in time for the snow experience. It was truly magical. Perfect to enjoy with your family. They also had drinks available at the table near by. So glad we decided to come here our first Christmas in Charleston!

Yelp
Conveniently located hotel a little dated decor and over priced Many other smaller newer hotels I will try on my next trip to Charleston
google avatar

Yelp
Well my first time here! It's pretty expensive and whatever you do don't come around Christmas! I'm pays much money to stay there and it's been a nightmare! Couldn't get to the hotel when we arrived! Terrible hotel service! To many people that are not staying at the hotel that are aloud to come in and hangout it's so overwhelming and extremely crowd it! To much chaos! Do not come around Christmas time unless you like a crazy scene!!!!!!

Yelp
The Charleston Place is rich in tradition, elegance, refined taste and thematic cinema. From Thanksgiving through Easter, this hotels showers locals and guests with themes and events to warm the heart. With its high end luxury stores and dining, lobby fit for a queen and king and refined customer service, The Charleston Place has become a go to spot whether you stay for the evening or indulge in some luxury brand shopping. Truly a wonderful place. Without a doubt, they lead the way during the winter holiday season with spectacular events including a 3 story tree, snowfall, lights, hot cocoa, wine and more.

Yelp
I would live there if I could. The Charleston Place is the loveliest Hotel in the French Quarter of the Historic District of Charleston. It was my dream to stay there when I passed by last year. They promoted my reservation to Club Level and I can't say enough about their complimentary offerings and service. I doubt I will remarry--but if I do--I'm doing it there!! Oh--you must go to the Thoroughbred Club inside of the hotel to people watch and have an espresso martini!

Harper C.

Yelp
From the moment my husband and I pulled in the valet at the front lobby we were greeted with smiles and grace. Everyone on the hotel staff was amazing, from the bellhops to the restaurant managers. This hotel is clean, the shopping, location, and dining experiences are unmatched, and the overall experience we shared was one we will remember forever. This was our 10 year wedding anniversary trip and it's easy to say that we will definitely be planning another trip back to the Charleston Place!

Yelp
This place really stands out as you walk along King Street. You know it's something when you start seeing the high-end shops like Gucci and Louis Vuitton. We were there for New Years and they still had their beautiful Christmas trees and decor up so we saw two giant nutcrackers framing the entrance doors and had to come in and check it out. They have some really nice shops and stores for ladies clothing, specialty things, decor, etc. inside. Tons of great dining and live piano music greeted us. There are several areas to people-watch, take photos, and watch the display in the center of the main lobby. Multiple street exists make it easy to come and go from various parts of this large complex. All the dining is excellent! We loved light dinner and drinks at Meeting on Market which is at the Market St. entrance.

Yelp
We got put up here when we came for an interview. It definately made a great impression! The service was top notch. The room was clean. the bed was very comfortable. The pool area is really awesome to hang out at ! my only issue is that I wish it would have been open later (the pool closes when the spa closes which is a shame. This place is really expensive. A 3 night stay was over $1000...it included $40 or more for breakfast, but it was sometims a struggle to stay under that. My issue I had is that it was booked by a potential employer, but they actually put all the costs on my incidental credit card and not their card. I called to get this corrected but it didnt happen. It was a pain to keep track of and have to go back the business to try to get them to re-imburse which still has not happened so far!
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite hotel in Charleston. Best service and cleanest rooms with polite service.
google avatar

Chrissy F.

Yelp
Never stayed here but the 5 stars is for the train town display the put out for the past decade or so. Ever since moving here in the early 2000s it was a treat to check out the Charleston Place during the holiday season for the decorations and holiday cheer. Over the last few years their team has really ramped up the festivities like getting the community more involved with tree lightings, performances, holiday markets. I'm impressed that the trees indoors were all real!!! And so many tastefully decorated too! The Charleston Place truly makes the spirits bright with their eye for design and spreading the holiday cheer each year!

Yelp
Arrived after a long cross country series of flights. This is a home away from home. We are situated on the concierge floor (for Ritz Carlton folks, you know). Service is Southern charming and kind. Property is immaculate. Enjoying a martini (or two) with some cheese and "kibble"--all complimentary (but tip well because they deserve it).

Yelp
This is an exceptional place to stay. My husband, four year old son and I spent the last two nights in a club double room. The room itself is lovely - crisp, luxurious white linens, a reading nook, an espresso maker, a beautiful, oversized marble bathroom with a walk-in shower stocked with L'Occitane toiletries - but what really made the experience special was the genuine warmth and hospitality that we were shown by every member of the staff, from the front desk to housekeeping. As guests staying on the club level, we were provided with exclusive access to a beautiful lounge on the 8th floor, where we had access to complimentary breakfast, snacks, appetizers, desserts and beverages (including a full bar) from early in the morning until late at night. The bartenders were some of the most interesting people that we met on our trip. We also very much enjoyed the rooftop pool area, the live harp and piano music in the lobby and the very convenient location, which made renting a car completely unnecessary. We had a wonderful stay here and hope to return again!
google avatar

Caroline T.

Yelp
I was walking around downtown looking for a place to do some work after showings when I stumbled upon the Charleston place and their adorable little courtyard! They were doing their summer of spritz cocktail theme in their cottage so I had to check it out! The bartender, Erika J was an absolute gem! She was so friendly, welcoming, fun and upbeat! She made me the best aperol spritz I've ever had, and I've had them in Italy! ;) I definitely plan to go back again at some point during the summer and maybe even stay at the charleston place for a staycation. Highly recommend Erika J and the Charleston place, best bartender 5 stars !
google avatar

Al P.

Yelp
The Club level dinner and dessert was fantastic. We got to hang out with good friends and had a great time. Excellent service, highly recommend the 8th floor experience.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
It's a lovely hotel, but for the price, I would think it wouldn't look like it needs to be refreshed, the air wouldn't be so loud that I needed to turn it down, that I couldn't hear conversations in the next room, that dogs would be limited to certain areas and the flowers wouldn't be so pungent that it would cause a headache. As an allergy sufferer, the dog situation and beautiful, but overwhelming fragrance of lilies in the lobby and public spaces are enough to make me not stay here again. The last thing you want is to feel awful on a vacation.
google avatar

Kathy C.

Yelp
My son was in town for an interview and we were put up at this hotel. It was right in the middle of all the action of downtown Charleston. Our stay was exquisite. We felt like royalty. For breakfast room service, they brought a table right in the room! Special rounds were made by the staff to deliver water! I never saw that elsewhere and I have been to many hotels. The spa and pool areas also didn't disappoint. There was also a rooftop lounging area where small meals and beverages were served. This was prohibitively expensive. I think I ended up paying $20 for a small smoothy. Prices were not on the menu. Next time I will be sure to ask. The lounge chairs by the pool and on the rooftop were extremely comfortable. I ended up taking a nap after swimming my laps. There was also a juccuzi that I enjoyed. The ambiance was like that of a Roman spa! The hotel lobby area was tastefully decorated. It was Southern decor at its best. Thanks for treating us like royalty! It sure was fun...

Yelp
Oh my, such a gorgeous place to spend an evening. They have beautiful shops, dining, and stunning decor to marvel at while you walk the halls. Every year during December they host a "Let it Snow" event where they have an immense tree lit. They serve hot chocolate and delicious treats all for free while a magical Christmas soundtrack plays. The icing on the cake is the snow flurry they unleash so you can have a white Christmas even in the south! This event feels so special and magical and it's a perfect event to bring the kids. Inside the lobby they had a large toy train set that you could watch and a skillful pianist on a grand piano. There was a double staircase surrounding the train covered in garlands and streamers that felt so opulent. We really had the best time and the staff being so friendly made it even better. The best things in life are free and this was the perfect example of that!
google avatar

Chantal B.

Yelp
This review is ONLY for the Let It Snow event they host during the holidays which was BEAUTIFUL!! I never stayed at the hotel, only event. But they host an event in which they have snow falling but it was super pretty and very family friendly. I went with my friend and her daughter and it did not disappoint. The kids love the concept and plus you get to take photos of the Christmas tree. They hand out cookies and hot cocoa which was delicious. And the hot cocoa is lukewarm so make sure to RSVP when the season comes. It's a good wholesome time. They also have where you can write to the children at the Children's Hospital and that was pretty nice.
google avatar

Wes A.

Yelp
The best spot for a break on king street! You can find many opportunities to refresh! There are various shops and it's on the other side of the street from the city market! Just a great refuge in the city! I love the door people! examen des cols bleus:x

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. Fun to play tourist in your town. Restaurants are amazing. Softest beds I've ever slept in. Def worth the price to stay on club level.
google avatar

Jenny K. L.

Yelp
Our stay was lovely. The suites have a lot of space and we had a beautiful view of the Christmas tree, that had a show every hour from 6,7,8pm. The indoor/outdoor pool was great, and on our floor which was convenient. Very much appreciated the generous amounts of bottles of water the hotel provided. It's a busy hotel because of the shops and indoor holiday train. The car valet tended to get backed up in the tight space. It's a solid 4 star hotel.

Michael F.

Yelp
A gorgeously pretentious place to stay. Valet my be too confused (or stoned) to get you parked but based on staff response it's part of the experience. Staff will try to steer you to the parking garage, but beware, they don't validate and it's a daily rate. When checking in we were directed to the garage and explicitly told it was parking for our room. BEWARE! The garage is city owned parking and not included in your booking. THIS PROPERTY DOES NOT OFFER PARKING WITHOUT AN ADDITIONAL $50+ daily fee. Pool is cool though. Unless you're being micromanaged by the spa front desk having to approve every little movement with the manager. For such a nice establishment it felt very low rent with a very old school lack of progression.

M R.

Yelp
We typically stay at Hotel Bennett, but they did not have any availability during our most recent visit in mid-December. The Charleston Place public areas were an absolute zoo, making it extremely difficult to walk through the lobby. For families with young children. the crowds could be an acceptable trade off to enjoy the beautiful Christmas decor and activities. Figuring out where to enter to check in was confusing because of the road signs. The location is very convenient for walking to shops, restaurants and sights. We could see the market from our window. Reservations for meals, including breakfast, were an absolute must. That said, I do recommend all of their restaurants. A highlight of our stay was the holiday walking tour! I absolutely agree with a previous post that pets should be limited to a specific area of the hotel. In addition to the fact that some guest may have allergies, we heard a large dog barking from several rooms away throughout our stay. Rooms are lovely until you notice outlets falling off the wall, broken bedposts, dirty upholstery on the chairs and air conditioning loud enough to wake you up. We contacted maintenance about the issue. They ignored the electrical hazard and left a message that the air conditioning noise was normal. Um, no . . . do you think this is the first hotel I've visited? Getting a good night's sleep is one of the top criteria in choosing a hotel.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful!!! Rooms were amazing, big, bathroom was large & the shower was huge. Service was impeccable, would definitely stay there again if I visit Charleston.

Yelp
Charleston Place Hotel --- be sure to skip this hotel when in Charleston. They sold us a gift card, denied it, promised a refund, and then reneged --- have had endless email and phone exchanges for 6 weeks but all we get is gratuitous customer service-speak. This is a great example of how NOT to treat a high value customer and world traveler. If I was still teaching at Kellogg I would turn this into a marketing lesson for the MBA class. like -1 Really bad

Yelp
I stayed here this week for a conference, and it was a wonderful experience! The location is perfect for exploring everything Charleston (City Market is across the street), the service is impeccable (concierge, coffee shop, registration, transportation, the doormen - their smiles brightened my day). My room was very large, extremely comfy bed (like sleeping in a cloud), responsive thermostat, extensive (and well labeled) lighting design, flashy bathroom with both handheld and rain shower heads, and a turndown service that thinks of everything (coiling my hair iron's cord into the hairdryer drawer the first night so I knew where it was - brilliant)! Extra points for in room mini frig and free CANS of water (big hit for this anti-plastic-ite). As a conference center, the rooms were well laid out if a bit chilly... the food offerings were top notch, and here again the service was always w/ a smile. Only complaint is the waitstaff literally pulled plates out from us mid chew because they wrongly assumed we were finished... lost a good cupcake to one of them. The shops are high end and the restaurants $$$$, but I would absolutely stay again!

Kathy M.

Yelp
Amazing place. Great location and beautiful charm. The staff was very helpful, the room was great and the club level was fabulous. Would definitely stay there again.

Ann F.

Yelp
Beautiful accommodations with a helpful and friendly staff. Trey at the bar was a personable and dedicated bartender who went out of his way to remember everyone's name and make them feel special. Ingrid and Kadisha served the breakfast for all of us attending the Scansource event and were most attentive and congenial. Our room was kept tidy and restocked so hats off to the housekeeping staff as well. The location being in the heart of downtown Charleston makes this definitely a "must stay" for your next trip to Charleston.

Yelp
Well, past its heyday, everything is kind of worn and filthy. The thoroughbred bar was closed but nobody bothered to let us know when we booked we got a king with a balcony that two people could not stand on due to the size. The only view you get is a horse fountains. It's been several years since the last time I stayed here, and I will never be returning. Beds are uncomfortable, pillows are beyond flat. Save your money and book elsewhere.
google avatar

Julie A.

Yelp
Definitely located in the perfect location. Located in the Center of all the restaurants, bars and shopping in the area. You can walk in any direction and find blocks of entertainment. Service is friendly, check-in is quick. Rooms clean. Service was attentive. Hallways and lobby are very hot. Elevators are very slow. So many food choices in the area, I would skip the hotel restaurants and venture out for other selections. The Thoroughbred lobby bar is a nice gathering place for late night. The rooftop pool and bar provides a nice break to a hot day.

Debi P.

Yelp
A wonderful hotel. Service and rooms were wonderful. The bar is nice and drinks are great. They make you fill special.

Yelp
This was our second visit to the Charleston Place and hope to make it an annual tradition! Everything here is as good as it gets! We came to celebrate my wife's birthday and they truly helped make it a special weekend for us. The space, amenities, the location are all top notch. But the real standout is the service. Every single person we had the pleasure of interacting elevated our experience with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism. You really can't go wrong at The Charleston Place, it's the best Charleston has to offer.

Yelp
It's a great hotel. My only complaint is that Internet fails every 4 to 5 minutes. Have to perpetually and continually sign in. $350 a night with no Internet? Does it sound like a good deal to you?

Yelp
This hotel is AWESOME! First of all, the location is perfect in my opinion. Within walking distance to pretty much everywhere you'd want to be in Charleston. The hotel itself is beautiful and immaculate. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. We were lucky enough to have a Club level room - this is literally worth it's weight in gold. Free food and alcohol available virtually all day, I literally never stopped eating! And when I say free food, I'm talking about shrimp cocktail, crab claws, lamb chops, beef Wellington, the list goes on. The rooms were very spacious and very comfortable. Loved how clean everything was. Can't wait to come back in the future.

Yelp
The bartender was so rude to me when I asked him if he had an orange wine. Most people especially in Charleston know what orange wine is. It is a skin contact wine. Anyway he was so rude and made me feel stupid in front of the whole bar. And was laughing at me saying "I don't know what that is" Not good hospitality. Beautiful space tho

Yelp
This is an expensive, four star hotel that pretty significantly disappointed me. Pool is nice, but surrounding pool deck could have been cleaner. HVac was very loud to the point of waking us up several times. bathroom was nice and I liked the shower head. The rest of the room was getting dated and showed signs of wear. Rooms have no soundproofing at all and you can hear everything that goes on around you. Room service came at 7:30 at night when my 5 year old had just fallen asleep, waking him up and causing him to be up for another hour. No coffee in rooms, which seems ridiculous for this class of hotel. Not impressed and left feeling like we could have spent a lot less money and gotten a lot better experience somewhere else.

Yelp
This place literally lost my car keys. I had a rental and needed to return it by 8am the next day which I reiterated to them. They said no problem. But when I went to retrieve the car, they mysteriously lost the keys. This is absolute garbage.

Yelp
What a fabulous find! Beautiful hotel, a friendly and wonderful staff with great attention to detail. Highly suggest staying in the club level. It is the epitome of southern hospitality. Great amenities. I would come back for again for sure.
