We had the pleasure of staying at The Charleston Place during the second week of July. I will preface this review by saying the ONLY reason we are not giving it a 5-star rating is due to the ongoing construction which caused some noise and water issues, and led to temporary closure of some dining and amenities. However, based on our recent experience, once the construction project is complete, this resort will be 5+++!||We arrived early for check-in due to an early morning flight. Our room was not ready yet, so we figured we'd walk around and wait until it was. However, our two sons (aged 4 and 6) were exhausted after a long travel morning, and started melting down from exhaustion, the high temps and humidity, and just needing a place to settle in. I went back to the front desk and asked if there were any room categories available for immediate occupancy. The lovely staff member, Eric, offered a very reasonable upcharge for a suite that we could access immediately, and we happily took the opportunity. We are SO glad we did, as the suite was beautiful!||We had booked a Club Level room from the start, and even in the midst of renovation, the club level staff (Huy was fantastic on our check-in day as we had starved little kids who needed a snack asap) and food/beverage offerings were wonderful and more than worth the cost. We were very impressed with the service and organization, given they had only been in their temporary space for a couple months. ||The location of the Charleston Place can't be beat! In the heart of the French Quarter, walking distance to the waterfront, and right in the heart of the action. We parked the car upon arrival and never took it out until departure day. ||This is a wonderful property, and we look forward to coming back upon completion of the renovation project. We went back and forth between Hotel Bennett and the Charleston Place for this visit, and given the location, and ease of access, especially with our young boys, we are SO glad we chose Charleston Place. Don't let the construction scare you away. It's a fantastic property, and we will be back!
