"Spend a night at the Charmant Hotel, a 67-room property housed in an old candy store, dating back to the late 19th century. There’s still a trace of its sugary origins, thanks to a Sweets Bar offering handmade chocolates; rooms and suites are more modern leaning, kitted out with exposed brick, gallery walls, and bathrooms complete with clawfoot bathtubs and rain showers."

We loved this hotel. Family of 5 (plus 2 dogs) stayed for one night. Bell hop at check-in was super friendly and helpful. As was the person who checked us in. The hotel is beautiful inside and out. The rooms were very charming and clean. Paid extra for surprises for my kids and dogs - tent with fairy lights, rug, coloring pages and table to color on - and treats and fun collar for the dogs. The location is right on the Mississippi River with park and walking paths. Walking distance to LaCrosse Queen Riverboat Cruise, Riverside Park, and International Friendship Garden. We also visited the Rooftop Terrace for dinner. The pizza and salad were fantastic. Great atmosphere and views. We also enjoyed the candy and coffee shops. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

Worked great for its location. Very clean and neat that it used to be a candy factory. They do not have free on-site parking. They offer $15/day valet parking (in/out as much as you want), but lots of parking as also available all around the hotel street (it's 2-hour parking but only during specific times). The location is right on the Mississippi River with park and walking paths. Also a great location for restaurants and coffee shops.

The Charmant was beautiful, the staff made me feel welcome with their warm and attentive service. The room was spotless, spacious, and well-appointed. The location was perfect, steps from the water.||The dinner at the hotel’s restaurant was amazing—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was exceptional, and we definitely will dine again.||Everything from check-in to checkout was impressive. I highly recommend The Charmant to anyone looking for a hotel in a great location with wonderful dining options, beautiful rooms, and impeccable service. I can't wait to come back!

My husband booked a night in this hotel since he had business in Lacrosse & asked me to join him. I have to say, I was blown away by the hotel, staff/service, restaurant & rooftop bar. The location was perfect, close to the river, trails, gardens, & downtown. Tiffany checked us in & she was awesome! She told us about the history of the hotel & where to go & what to do. There was live music that day in the park on the waterfront. Went to the rooftop bar & had some great libations & apps. The restaurant had delicious food & great service. The room, even though somewhat small, was very well appointed had a fantastic shower & A/C, and a very comfy bed & pillows. I was so impressed with the hotel & the area, I can”t wait to come back for a long weekend!

The staff is amazing and the hotel is beautiful. Very large rooms (the bathroom was gigantic!) and wonderful dining. Definitely check out the rooftop terrace for great views and cocktails. We also enjoyed a nice weekend brunch and cocktails at the lobby bar. Everyone was so friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. We can't wait to go back!

This hotel blew us away with its attention to detail. The decor was so beautiful and also varied, yet had a cohesive feel. The food at the bar/lounge was excellent as were the drinks. The hotel is close to the river and in the buzz of downtown. Truly a pleasure.

The Charmant Hotel is truly the best of the best when it comes to accommodations in the La Crosse area. Perfectly situated right along the Mississippi River, this hotel offers a blend of historic charm and modern comfort that’s hard to beat. The property is beautifully maintained, with an inviting atmosphere that makes every guest feel welcome. Its location is ideal—just a short walk from the heart of downtown La Crosse, where you’ll find vibrant nightlife, great restaurants, and local attractions. But if you’d rather stay in for the night, The Charmant won’t disappoint. The on-site bar and dining area are both exceptional, offering delicious food and craft cocktails in a cozy, upscale setting. Whether you’re visiting for business, a weekend getaway, or a special occasion, The Charmant delivers a memorable and luxurious stay every time.

It's a beautiful hotel with super friendly staff and lots of things to explore. Shout out to the valet for doing an amazing job while I was there. They greet you with a warm smile and make you feel so welcomed. Will definitely have to visit again soon.

Yelp
I came in the summer, and The vibes were immaculate. The weather was gorgeous, the view of the city from the rooftop was great. It wasn't overly crowded and were seated on the edge. On the pricey side for the portions but everything tasted great. Would not recommended if you're looking to get full or drunk. My friends and i ordered a sangria pitcher but it was more ice than drink. Probably got 3 full drinks out of it. We also got a pizza but that was pretty small to share for three people. Great place to be cute and take pictures

Yelp
The best hotel and experience I have ever had. We traveled with our 6 week old and we were terrified. The hotel was so accommodating- put us in a room away from the elevators, provided a pack n play, hot water for bottles, and ice when needed. The restaurant in the lobby and well as the bar/lounge is so comfortable we had drinks there twice. The coffee shop is so cute and so nice to have downstairs especially in the winter. We were supposed to stay only one night and extended to two nights. Every staff member from server to valet was a pleasure. We can't wait to travel back soon.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here on our 18th anniversary and it was perfect the history of the building alone was fun to hear just ask anyone who works there. Upon check in they gave us 2 chocolates made from the original recipe when the hotel used to be a chocolate factory. The room was clean and comfortable and the rooftop bar was amazing consider staying here for a special occasion you will not be disappointed

Yelp
It was a delight to stay at the Charmant for two nights while staffing a US Veteran non-profit fundraiser. The hotel is an authentically restored historic building that used to be the fifth largest Candy factory in the country. Charmant is "charming" in French and the namesake of one their famous chocolate candies. I noticed a very attentive and gracious staff at the front desk, the servers on the rooftop terrace & the Parlour, and especially the Valets. The second night the Valet/chauffeur Derek really went above and beyond recovering a lost item, and after a long day two colleagues and I sat at the Lobby Bar and Lounge for dinner and met the nicest gentlemen who happened to be a Vietnam Veteran. I recognized him during our conversation as Don Weber, a business executive and philanthropist who helped develop La Crosse Wisconsin to the gem it is today. His story is too unique to summarize, you can watch it online https://youtu.be/5t7qCrm1e3I. We have common friends and Don (who owns the Hotel Charmant and the nearby Waterfront Restaurant) treated us to dinner and drinks, probably the best I've had in a hotel lobby. The Charmant Old Fashioned was outstanding, and they even made my favorite drink from scratch, Caipirinha, Brazil's national cocktail. This is a wonderful hotel, and the best hospitality I've experienced in a long while! I can't wait to stay here next year!

Toktam R.

Yelp
It's the cutest little boutique hotel. I LOVED it, and special thanks to my dear Janet for making it happen as I decided very last minute to visit them. And this unique, beautiful hotel was booked, but she made it happen. Everyone working here is so AMAZING. Thank you for making my trip so memorable. They're just genuinely friendly and super sweet. If you need a getaway somewhere far away and not feel lonely, you should come here. They have the cutest coffee shop, restaurant, and bar. Pretty much everything. I almost considered moving. I was in Wonderland, exactly what I needed, away from everything.

Bubba T.

Yelp
The Parlour at the Charmant Hotel - a MUST visit. Get ready for your day at this sweet little coffee shop or unwind by the fire at the end of the day. Choose from an assortment of treats to go with your fresh coffee or tea. Clean, and welcoming. I almost hate sharing this secret with everyone!

Paul L.

Yelp
I ate here four times over three days recently and I don't remember each dish I had because the great experiences sort of melted together because it was so satisfying. The Charmant is one of those places in which you just want to ensconce yourself for a week before even venturing outside.

Pam G.

Yelp
Been meaning to leave this since my Sept stay. I literally want to live there!! I LOVED this hotel; from the attention to detail in the oh so lovely rooms, to the yummy food (French onion soup is to die for), to the cute cafe, to the awesome location, to the incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. Special shout out to Matthew (valet) who ran me to the airport at the crack of dawn. I could not find fault. I'm not sure when I'd ever get back to La Crosse, but if I do you can be sure I'll stay at The Charmant.

Michelle O.

Yelp
WOW...just Wow!! I don't want to oversell because I know that it can set people up for disappointment, but I was just blown away by this hotel! First of all, it is in one of the best locations in La Crosse. So close to terrific restaurants, a fantastic distillery/restaurant (see my review of the La Crosse Distilling Co which is essentially located behind the hotel), and sits in the couple of blocks between the waterfront and downtown. We walked everywhere pretty much (should have brought better shoes) and that was fantastic. Secondly, the hotel itself is in an amazing old building and from the moment you walk on the brick walkway and into the hotel it is an "experience". From the decor, to the multiple areas in the lobby/bar and restaurant to enjoy a beverage, some conversation, a special event it is beautiful and warm, retro and modern all at the same time. As a heads up there were a LOT of parties/events being celebrated over our weekend there so plan ahead and make sure things like the Rooftop bar or Parlour are even open for your visit if those are important to you. We were really looking forward to the rooftop bar, but it didn't open until 3pm due to an event, and then a storm moved in and they were closed. We were highly disappointed by that as we'd talked about celebrating our husband's birthday with our daughter (who lives in La Crosse) up there, but definitely another time. The rooms are very spacious (we had a double queen room on the 4th floor), extremely well appointed with wonderful decorative touches throughout, and the beds were like heaven!! Noise-wise the room is solid, but it's pretty easy to hear people in the hallway. That wasn't a problem but we had some kids in the rooms across the hall and I noticed that. The only recommendations are around a lack of fan in the bathrooms (sound just bounces around with all the hard surfaces and I'm always a big proponent of bathrooms fans in hotels) and there is no holder for the hand towel and requires it to sit on the countertop. That isn't ideal. They could use better hardware for towels in the bathroom especially when you have 2-3 people in a room. Otherwise you'll just keep using new towels instead of reusing, or towels might get thrown on your furniture in the main room to dry...not what they would want I'm pretty sure ;). Other than those small recommendations it is stellar! From the chocolates when you check in, the atmosphere and comfort of the public areas and rooms, the options for food and drink, and the location of the hotel, I would not only recommend this hotel, but I will be back many times I would imagine :)

Yelp
Very nice boutique hotel with an industrialized French and modern vibe. We stayed during winter months and in a room not facing the river. Our room was small but well done. They have free valet parking and you use a text messaging system to call for your car. Once in a while there won't be someone at the valet stand or front desk to give your keys, but eventually someone shows up. Safety measures were appropriate and honored. We enjoyed drinks at the bar and had brunch in their restaurant. Both great experiences. Food and service are excellent. They continue to have happy hour during the weekdays. They give guests free coffee every morning in their parlor. For a unique and classy experience, definitely stay here. I hope to return during the summer months to enjoy their roof deck bar.

Nick A.

Yelp
Stayed over the weekend and couldn't have loved this hotel more. Rooms were unique and comfortable, restaurants/bars are great, and staff were beyond nice. Cameron made our stay so easy and welcome. Will be back!

Kristin B.

Yelp
Stay here. It's that simple. Beds and linens are comfortable. Room was good sized and shower was great. Parking and check in/out was so easy. Location on the river and near stores/bars/restaurants is fun. Roof top patio with bar and wood fire pizza oven is a bonus. Chocolates we got on our way in and coffee we got on our way out were delicious. We really enjoyed our stay and think the hotel would be a really great event location.

Annette W.

Yelp
We wanted to stay for a golf event in town. Booking.com showed one King room for $199.00. I called the hotel and they said one night was over $400.00 and the second night $389.00. I questioned the price difference. Reservations lady was rude. Before I finished saying how expensive it was, she hung up on me. We stayed their last year. Overpriced for what You get. Breakfast was overpriced, we wanted to have lunch, they were not serving, we tried to have dinner at hotel, they had very limited menu and it was horrible. They have a rooftop bar. Closed Monday through Wednesday. Seriously! Slow service. Took 10 minutes to get coffee at the coffee bar. Go to the Hilton! Beautiful hotel! Great friendly staff.

Lori N.

Yelp
Would 100% go back. Nice rooms great staff beautiful bar. Fun cocktail waitress that kept making sure we were satisfied. Coffee bar is the best.

Yelp
This is a beautiful hotel with an amazing roof top bar! I was here for the Mid West Music Fest and enjoy my stay. The rooms were beautiful and modern with a flair like my mom had decorated it.. Feeling midwesty, but also a mix of modern and history in one. The rooms were big and had all the modern emanates that you would want! Including a huge shower and double sinks in the bathroom! I was staying with my band mate and it was nice that we both had our own big beds, sink in the bathroom, and enough towels to take a shower at night after our show and one again in the morning before we headed out of town! The rooftop bar was really cool, and had a beautiful view of the city, and my band mate played a show up there and it was a blast! Good bartenders who worked hard! I also really dug you got a free coffee from the coffee shop in the lobby it was fantastic and the lobby/restaurant was really swank as well! What a beautiful place to stay in La Crosse, your close to everything but you might also just not want to leave the hotel, it's so nice!

Karen B.

Yelp
We had a nice stay here. The building is beautiful and there are lots of nice details (like getting a peice of chocolate upon check-in). We loved the parlor coffee shop on the first floor- so cozy! You get 2 free coffee tokens in your room that you bring down to the parlor to use (no coffee pot is in your room). What we enjoyed most was that you could take cruiser bikes out for free. We rode miles on a bike path that took us through the marsh lands and over bridges. We clearly don't get on bikes very often, because we just had a blast! Overall, the stay was lovely and worth the money.

Michelle L.

Yelp
This was a very nice restaurant/bar we ate on the rooftop in the day it was perfect we tried to order several different drinks and either they did not have that right alcohol or the bartender did not know how to make it for such a fancy place I think they need a bartender that has actually gone to bartending school

Bella P.

Yelp
This hotel is awesome!!! From the start, welcomed with two delicious salted caramel chocolates (hotel used to be a candy factory). The room was super cute. Lofty feel with exposed brick walls, tiled bathroom with huge shower. The fixtures were industrial with an antique vibe. Wooden floors. Very clean. Top floor is the rooftop lounge which is super cute and has great views. Drinks and food are tasty. Lobby is the bar, restaurant, coffee shop. Love the bar- great choices in libations. Coffee was also very good. At check in you also get tokens for free morning coffee in the shop! Everyone was so nice- from the valet to the front desk. We came for a birthday celebration getaway. I think we may make this a yearly excursion! Highly recommend! Will be back!!!

Kayli S.

Yelp
The Charmant is a breath of fresh air in an otherwise largely un-cosmopolitan town. It's big, beautiful and well appointed, with a gorgeous view of the Mississippi River. Bonus, it's a dog friendly hotel! The lobby is absolutely stunning, and they have a nice open concept restaurant and bar down there, serving everything from brunch to late-night drinks. Some nights there's live music playing, and they host small pieces of festivals there as La Crosse is want to do. The upstairs rooftop bar is open when the weather is warm, and there is a pizza kitchen/oven as part of the ambience. You're surrounded by bistro lighting and shrubbery and while there isn't a view of the Mississippi River from the rooftop bar, it's still cute, chic little oasis in the middle of downtown La Crosse. To be punny, the Charmant is simply charmant!

Lucas F.

Yelp
Fantastic hotel! You can't beat the charm of a boutique place such as this. Upgrade to the Classic Chateau King and do yourself a favor. We will be back again. Perfectly located in the heart of everything in La Crosse.

mary b.

Yelp
Lovely rehab of an historic building with welcoming hotel staff. The rooms was well appointed; might have expected a robe but I guess most have arrived by car so packing all your stuff not an issue. I did notice the French theme intersects Britain in the room. Oh well. Very nice for a small Wisconsin city.

joey d.

Yelp
Beautiful..charming..quaint..clean and comfortable..food was fantastic. Sweet and kind staff. A very short walk to the river and other historic sites. I can't say enough how much I love this boutique hotel. Also the shower..gorgeous. Stay here! Lots of times!

Meghan R.

Yelp
Putting the charm in Charmant. A gorgeous hotel, well appointed everything right along the river. Cocktails and room service were exactly what we needed to both indulge but distance. The cafe in the morning was perfect and so pleasant- wish we could have lingered, perhaps someday post COVID. Everything was clean and bright and masks abound making us feel safe and appreciated. The chocolate was the extra flourish that left a lasting impression.

Margaret R.

Yelp
This is the best treat 4-star hotel within 2 1/2 drive from Minneapolis! The river is enchanting and the hotel is simply marvelous. It is an old candy factory that was renovated into a charming hotel - full restaurant, full bar, rooftop deck and a little sweet cafe on the main floor. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, including a little bit of history in each room. Even better is the welcoming staff at every turn who are eager to please and make your stay perfect. Don't miss the free bikes to see the river and surroundings. We went during COVID times and truly were able to Exhale! Thank you. We will be back to our new home away from home. This was our 2nd visit. Book it today~

Katherine M.

Yelp
Built within an old renovated candy factory near the banks of the Mississippi River in the lovely town of La Crosse WI, the Charmant Hotel couldn't possibly be more Charming. Enter the lobby to find fresh truffles made daily, a coffee and tea room, and a fabulous bar and restaurant. Ride the elevator to the top floor to discover the best pizza and view in town with a rooftop patio overlooking downtown La Crosse. If you are fortunate enough to stay in one of the rooms overnight, you will know just how difficult it is to get up in the morning with some of the most comfortable hotel mattresses and pillows I have ever experienced. We had a cute little balcony overlooking the front of the hotel. Out shower was spacious and the bathroom was spotless. The feeling was overall luxurious. If you somehow have enough self discipline to escape the overwhelming comfort of the Charmant Hotel bed and make it down to breakfast, I highly recommend the French Toast with a side of mouth watering thick meaty bacon.

Bev M.

Yelp
We love this place!! We left our iPad in the car accidentally and Roman noticed it while valet parking our car and brought it up to our room! Such a nice young man!! Room and lobby are beautiful and the food is great!

Kyle U.

Yelp
Beautiful property. Great service, room was beautiful and the rooftop bar was a nice place to relax. We stopped in for one night on the way back from Minneapolis and I'm so glad we did. One of those places my wife and I will not forget! (Make sure you smell the wood beams in your room..you can still smell the chocolate from the old factory)

Natalie J.

Yelp
Wonderful hotel hands down. I was greated with a welcoming hello by the front desk guy. Checkin was a quick & smooth process and I was given 2 truffles upon Check in. The room was decorated very tastefully and the bathroom was quite large. We decided to sit in the lounge area & drink a couple beverages. The bar is well stocked with quite a large selection. Our waiter was attentive, personable, and fast to deliver drinks. This was our first time staying here while we visit the light display @ the park and will probably make this a yearly tradition. The only negative things I could find was limited on street parking with a 2 hour limit during the day. Valet parking was available for $15 and our admoire in the room was rather dusty on top.

Jodi S.

Yelp
Excellent food and friendly staff! Top notch professional accommodation. We came for a friends wedding and they delivered to make it special in every way. This will be our destination yearly. Thank you!

Nikki A.

Yelp
The perfect, charming hotel. Zero complaints. Everything about this hotel is perfect. The hotel used to be a candy factory, you get gratis chocolates when you check in. The room decorations are quaint and well thought out. The bed is extremely comfortable, and the staff is nice and pleasant. Highly, highly recommend.

Gary M.

Yelp
This hotel blew me away. I must admit, I wasn't sure what to expect in La Crosse, but this was impressive on all levels. The rooms and were immaculate. It still seems quite new, but focusing on quality components and PLENTY of space. You can see some of the "bones" of the original candy factory, but I wouldn't call it rustic. The bar was very elegant, and they seem to get a decent after work crowd. I understand the restaurant is good but we did not have an opportunity to try it. The only quirky thing is the front entrance which can be a challenge to navigate. Quite a heavy door.

Shannan D.

Yelp
Oh my goodness- probably one of my most favorite hotels so far. So quiet, sophisticated and beautifully designed. I looked at the pictures online beforehand and thought that surely this hotel can't be as cute and stylish as it looks on the website. Guess what? It's better! How is this place in quiet little La Crosse? So awesome One observation- this place is chic and hip and expensive. The clientele is older, sophisticated. I felt very comfortable there, but I wonder if my 25 year old self would. It's like the nice hotel your parents would stay in. I honestly could not BELIEVE the attention to detail in the design. I loved every detail. Kudos to the design team. The hallways, the rooms, the bathrooms! I would highly recommend eating in the restaurant - dinner or breakfast. Either is delicious (if not quite rich and carb heavy). I woke up early and spent one morning drinking coffee in the darling parlor. Sitting next to the wood burning fireplace sipping my latte was true bliss. I met several people in the parlor and everyone was nice and approachable. This hotel must attract a great crowd! Can't wait to go back.

Rebecca P.

Yelp
I don't usually give 5 stars, especially to a hotel, but the Charmant deserves it! We stayed overnight during their first week of operation for a convention and I am already planning a return trip with my husband! Being in the architecture industry I love it when someone invests the capital to revitalize a historic building...especially when they do it this well! The lobby is welcoming, chic, yet dappled with historic flare. The lodging portion of the hotel just keeps impressing as you walk to your room. The hallways are lined with raw reclaimed wood, inset "rugs", gorgeous light fixtures and beautiful signage. Each room is just as amazing with primo finishes and...the most important thing...the beds are LUXURIOUS! I have been in plenty of hotels that look nice and skimp on mattresses and linens...not here! The rainfall shower heads and marble lined bathrooms are also superb. After checking in we headed to the lobby bar to figure out what to do for the night and sat down for a drink. The Ford Sterling and Modest Mule were outstanding and each handcrafted cocktail looked just as good. The drinks were so good we decided to order a few apps. The pomm frites with garlic aioli were drool-worthy and the charcuterie board was perfectly presented and equally delish. The only thing I could do without was our waitresses green tongue ring and her lack of attentiveness, but she was the only person that we encountered that wasn't top-notch. We had breakfast in the restaurant on the first floor...which was again outstanding. The food and beverage manager Rob checked in with us about our stay, our service, and the food, which is always great to see someone on the floor taking true interest in their operation. I had the soft scrambled eggs with ham and it was served in an All-Clad skillet with goat cheese topped toast...just as amazing and I was hoping! Seriously....why would anyone leave the hotel after checking in! They truly have created a destination spot that I am sure is going to be very popular! Can't wait to come back!

Ryan S.

Yelp
I've looked at the lower ratings and their comments for the Charmant....my reaction: really? As a regular traveler I'd put zero weight into those reviews. Stay here. If you are traveling to La Crosse, Wisconsin. If you have been driving across cornfield for the last two hours. If you want a modern hotel that is comparable to any luxury hotel in Minneapolis. Stay here. Be honest, they've been open for three weeks. There are going to be service kinks to work out; there was for me. But, this place is a gem. Restaurant is great and bistro French. Rooms remind me of Hotel Monaco or Hotel Teatro for those familiar with Kimpton. Bigelow toiletries and Bluetooth speaker in room. They get it. Stay here.

Lo S.

Yelp
**Hotel Review Only** This beautifully converted candy factory is absolutely charming. Located along the river front near International Gardens makes for amazing scenery. Spacious rooms made to modern design and features bring together old and new. However, I don't know why this is rated as one of the best boutique hotels in the country (per Trip Advisor) because this hotel is a joke in the case of boutique. Upon arrival there was no valet at the valet stand or anyone at the front to direct us where to park or go to on the busy street. Once we walked in and and began our check in, the staff was cold and rude (name is not mentioned as staff were not wearing name tags). When we asked for recommendations to park besides valet due to the fact there was no one there, the staff gave absolutely no information or help on where to park and left us completely to find our own with a smug look. The bellman was a bit warmer and helped with the bags but was slower than molasses. Overall, all staff we encountered need a humbling experience at a real boutique hotel by definition. Experiencing other boutique hotels nationally and internationally this meets not even a national chain hotel level of hospitality. Would not recommend if you want a real boutique hotel service experience however the redeeming quality is the charming merger of both old and new.

Yelp
Stayed at Charmont after a recommendation from American Express. Was so pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The staff was amazing and extremely helpful. The hotel itself is beautiful, has amazing charm, is meticulously clean, and has so much character. My room was also the same, charming, beautiful and clean. Very impressed with all of the attention to details from the faucets, openface brick, lighting. The bar downstairs is perfect, opens at 6 AM. The restaurant downstairs was great for breakfast. Service was fast and friendly, food was yummy. Overall, wonderfully priced, beautiful and charming, friendly and efficient and clean. Can't wait to stay there again!

Jenny S.

Yelp
The best stay. Staff was very friendly! Rooms are beautiful, I wish their designer would come decorate my home. Spacious bathrooms. Love the bar downstairs, great for a quick nightcap. Breakfast was yummy and generous portions.

Megan D.

Yelp
We had an amazing stay for our "Mini-moon" after our wedding. Staff made us feel incredibly special and added some really wonderful touches. We had a room with a balcony, which was really amazing, especially during COVID times! We were able to get food delivered to our room each evening from the restaurant in the hotel, which ended up being incredibly good food. The room itself was really cool, with a beautiful bathroom, nice sitting area and very comfortable bed. Really great place for a romantic getaway!

S B.

Yelp
A total gem! Very hipster insta-ready decor, comfy bed, clean room with a local vibe that pays homage to its former life as a chocolate factory. We had dinner at the restaurant and breakfast in bed delivered the next morning and both were incredible. Also the lights are on a dimmer, I wish all hotels had that! One of the sexiest rooms I've ever stayed in.

Gail G.

Yelp
We stayed there about two weeks ago and were pleased with almost everything about the hotel, its bar, and its restaurant. The rooftop patio was packed...on a Tuesday night! Our room was fine and the bathroom was large and nicely designed. I have only one complaint: the amenities in the bathroom were skimpy. The soap bar at the sink was teeny, tiny. And the tiny bottles of shampoo and body wash provided for the shower were barely enough for one shower, not enough for both me and my husband. Also, I don't wear my glasses in the shower, so it's difficult to be sure which is shampoo and which is body wash. Remedy this and you'll have done it.

Yelp
This is our 3rd visit. This hotel was very well done, love the design and construction. Most luxurious hotel in LaCrosse!! Very clean room and bathroom- very comfy beds & linens. You get 2 tokens in the room for the cafe! Love it in the summer when their roof top deck/bar is open!! Will be back for sure!!

Yelp
I visit La Crosse from the Twin Cities about once per month and this place is a must every time I come. The rooms are cozy, clean and high-quality. The restaurant offers a great menu of both food and cocktails. The gym in the hotel is one of the best I've seen. Their staff is top-notch and better than any other place I've stayed. I can say that this is the best boutique hotel I've stayed at - and I am a frequent traveler. You will pay more than a standard hotel but it is by far worth it. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I was blown away by the service we receive at The Charmant hotel. The building is so well done. The rooms are adorable and did not overlook any detail. When you check-in the hotel gives you chocolate (the hotel is an old chocolate factory). There was a bike race going on in front of the hotel during our stay, they sent out an email a few days before our check-in alerting us of the event and what streets to avoid. This was a small touch but was so appreciated, as after a long drive there is nothing worst than getting lost/detoured by events. The hotel also allows dogs which is great. They have an amazing rooftop deck with wood-fire pizza. We also had coffee in the cafe (which was so yummy). We stayed on a Sunday night so the restaurant wasn't open for dinner but we had brunch. It's a simple menu and everything was fabulous. Our server was so friendly and did not rush us. There are a lot of great bars nearby (walking distance). I will definitely be back :)

Yelp
Love this place! From the minute we walked in and enjoyed a piece of chocolate at checkin, to our beautiful room, it was a pleasure!! The morning breakfast was absolutely delicious!! I would highly recommend this hotel on your next visit to La Crosse!

Yelp
Our company had the privilege of hosting many business lunches and dinners at The Charmant Hotel. We have had great reviews from our attendees about the food, service, and venue. Nicole and Krista, who helped plan the event, was extremely helpful, detail oriented, accommodating, and professional. The entire planning process with both Nicole and Krista was extremely easy, smooth, and pleasant. The staff was attentive to our needs, the food was delicious, the venue was gorgeous and they provided a wonderful experience for our clients. We look forward to hosting future events at The Charmant Hotel when we return to the area.

Yelp
I cannot say anything but, great. This hotel reminds me of a couple in Chicago and certainly the Davenport in Spokane, WA. The rooms are super clean and very boutique, the bathrooms are awesome. The location is the best part. Ever since I stayed here when they opened it is one of the only places I will stay in La Crosse. That said, for price and similar quality, I would compare this to Home2 Suites by Hilton.

Yelp
I've stayed at the Charmant over a dozen times when in town, and usually have the best experience when I'm there. Unfortunately this time it was just so-so. I brought my mom along for a girls weekend, and had never been to the rooftop bar before. The service up there was awful. The bartender was extremely unfriendly, and could've cared less that we were there. The rest of the stay was great as always, but the service Saturday evening was something I hope not to experience when I'm there again.

Yelp
I'm obsessed with this place. So cute and trendy! I'm so glad there is a fun new place to get drinks and dinner here in lacrosse.

Yelp
Had an amazing stay celebrating our anniversary. Beautiful hotel, rooms, and bar/restaurant. Within walking distance to everything we wanted to do. Fast friendly attentive service. Gave four stars as we had someone's dirty laundry left behind our curtains and the whole room was a bit dusty. The hotel is dog friendly and we encountered several and heard occasional barking. Kinda missed not having a pool and other amenities especially for the price but would still come back again.
