Love this shop! Very helpful people. Really good variety of cheeses 🧀. Some meats. Also, a pretty good selection of beers. Some shelves with packaged food items. Would have given 5 stars but they no longer carry the meat I love.

The best premium cheeses, and the staff are super generous with giving samples of everything, and multiple samples of the same cheeses. They will let you buy super small portions of cheeses if you want to. They also have imported specialty candies, crackers, meats to compliment the cheeses. Please come here on your Leavenworth trip! Maybe come at the end of your trip so the cheese doesn't sit for a while.

This place is awesome. We got so much cheese! Free samples, kinda like at a froyo shop. Great selection of beer too. We tried was is apparently, and debatably, the oldest brewery in the world which you can see in my pics. All that for about 50 bucks. An assortment of cheeses, mustards, beer and crackers. It was delicious. The staff is nice to, always ready to offer a sample. Just don't be greedy haha. It is also in the basement, or under ground, really fitting for a cheese place.

In disbelief this shop exists here in the middle of nowhere Washington AND that it’s so dang cool. My husband is a huge foodie and very much into bougie cheeses. He loved this place! Sampled a few international fun cheeses - Vampire Slayer, Red Dragon, etc - and really enjoyed getting to hear from the young people who run the shop. We ended up with a small $5 block of whatever one struck my husband’s fancy and it was perfect. There were plenty of condiments, cured meats, and a small selection of alcohol that would’ve made for a one-stop-shop for your next charcuterie board. Absolutely excellent.

The products are expensive enough, and being prompted for a tip when this is a normal shop is absolutely ridiculous. It completely took away from the experience and gave the impression that tourists are just being taken advantage of…

Very helpful Cheesemongers! We walked away with three cheeses and tasted many more! We loved Midnight Moon and Fourmage. The guys here were very helpful and pleasant. Wish we could have brought the whole store home!! They let us taste a "burger cheese" that was literally heaven sent.

Great shop for cheese! I love their dill mustard, it is amazing! They also have a havarti dill and a cheese with Irish whiskey, yummy! Great stop!

We love this store. While walking on Front Street my wife saw a small door with a downstairs shop selling cheese, and both of us been cheese lovers, we went downstairs. To our surprise we found a wide variety of the best cheeses we had ever tried. Our favorites are Marco Polo (peppercorn cheese), Saint Agur (creamy type kind of blue cheese but smoother) and the Blue English Stilton (smother than blue cheese but not as creamy as Saint Agur). The Landjäeger salami is really good and the best we have ever tried so far. This shop is handled by a group of 4 or 5 you guys who provide top notch service to everyone. If they are not the owners, they behave like them taking care of every single detail and making sure everyone enjoys the experience at this place.

The Cheesemonger in Leavenworth might be one of my favorite places on planet Earth. I've been going here for years, whenever I'm in town, and it is truly and wonderful place to be in. You take a steep set of steps down into a cheese basement that is fragrant with the pungent aroma of the different cheeses -- all of which you can try! The employees are super knowledgeable, each offering insights and suggestions. The quality of the cheese itself is superb and pretty reasonably priced for an artisan cheese shop. I couldn't recommend this place more highly!

The staff is so attentive and amazing. Letting you sample many cheeses and educating you on the cheeses. I loved the experience I had here primarily because the staff was so personable.

My original review sells this place too short, for my taste. Between this place, the Gingerbread Factory, and the Oil and Vinegar Cellar, my wife and I regularly spend between $100-200 on each visit to Leavenworth, with the bulk of it being dropped here. There are a lot of great cheeses here, many of them "must-buys" for us. The Vampire Slayer garlic cheddar is my top choice, although there's a Welsh sharp on the bottom shelf that just as regularly ends up in our shopping bag. Both of us also are addicted to a nice, creamy Bleu, and they carry Rogue River here (2019's World Champion), among several other worthy contenders. Anything and everything in the case is available for sampling, so you know what you're getting into (and addicted to), but be warned: the samples may be free, but inevitably leads to purchasing, with no exceptions. No human being has enough willpower to resist the temptation! The cheese is just too goud(a)! At peak times, things can get a little cramped and hectic; if you have ever been to a fish market at auction...it's a little like that, but more chaotic, and I mean this in the best way possible. Even amongst the cacophonous crush of crowds clamoring for crumbles and curds (how's THAT for alliteration?) at the height of the tourist season, you can be in and out within 10-15 minutes with more wedges in your bag than a golfer's caddy.

My husband and I love this cheese shop and make it a point to stop by each time we're in town! The guys behind the counter are always super friendly, and extremely knowledgeable! Just say what you're in the mood for and they'll point you in the right direction! Their store also sells crackers, olives, sausages, mostly anything you'd be able to pair with a good cheese so it's worth to have a look around! Don't forget to ask for samples either!

Every.Single.Time I have been to Leavenworth I have stopped here. Now even my kids ask to go in and pick cheese out! Everyone working is always so helpful and generally don't mind when you try everything as a sample first! This time I walked away with my favorite cheesemonger mustard and a creamy coconut cheese!

I mean, can we all just acknowledge up front that this is a tourist trap? I don't mean that with terrible derision--but if you just know ahead of time that you're headed into a tourist trap, and acknowledge it for what it is, you're going to have a nice time. We came in on a morning that wasn't as busy as it appears it can be, so that was a positive. The very nice people behind the counter were there to let us sample, and sample we did. They're peddling free samples and will happily walk you through what they sell, and talk about each cheese while you give it a go. What a fun way to shop! The cheese itself is kinda interesting, though I'd say that none of it is too terribly rare. You can find some very commonplace brands like Bellavitano, but what they do well is sell you on the flavors and they have a lot of different flavor combinations to try. Something with a shot of dill, another with honey lavender--not rare or particularly artisan, but unique, for sure. We had a nice time and settled on two different kinds, wanting just about 4 ounces of each. They did not, in fact, cut four ounces but more like 8 of each and we ended up socked with a $20 cheese order. I was in vacation mode and didn't really notice until I had the credit card in the machine, and at that point, it was just the admission that we were in a tourist trap, and had a lovely time down there, and we were getting some expensive cheese to take home. It's expensive, even if they cut the right size, but here again you just let the vacation vibes wash over you and get your cheese on. We brought home the cheese to family and it was a hit. Put a little on a burger, had some with crackers, a little with jam, and finished it all up a few days later by the fire at a campsite in Mount Rainier. It may have been a trap, but it was just fine to get caught there.

I love this place. Fantastic selection of cheese. The girl there was so patient and friendly. She was explaining all the different cheeses that were available for sampling. I love it when the staff are well trained, and knowledgeable about the products. We loved Truffle Noire, which is a Truffle Gouda. Must go for cheese lovers.

If you love cheese this is an awesome little shop to stop at. We could smell the cheese as we're walking down the street and once we located the source, we had to stop. Down the stairs we went and wallah... cheese!!!!!! I've never seen 4 grown men so happy........ Oh wait.... Yes I have.......BUT.... Where were we? Oh yes, cheese. Helpful young man behind the counter. Energetically showed us the cheese of the day and his favorite cheese. That's how you sell cheese. I instantly agreed with his pic and bought a good chunk of some special smoked Gouda. It was amazing. I've already eaten it all. Great selection of cheese. My friend has been searching Leavenworth sore Chipotle ketchup that he had on one of his lunches this week. This place has it in bottles!!! It's worth the stop, it's touristy, and you're probably a tourist.

Cheese!!! The employees are nice and will help you out with samples. The smallest cut you can is a quarter pound, and prices are listed by the pound. I came for the Sartori Bella Vitano Balsamic that I had tried at the cheese shop in Lake Chelan but didn't buy. If I recall correctly, they sold it for $22.99/pound while here is $19.99/pound. Another cheese we ended up getting was the Face Rock Vampire Slayer ($16.99/pound). You really do taste the garlic! We walked away with half a pound each, which sounds like a lot of cheese, but it's really never enough. Since then, I've seen that Costco sells the vampire slayer and carries the Bella Vitano brand, though they only had Merlot, no Balsamic. We had sampled that as well and it was also pretty good, so this may just be my new favorite brand of cheese!

One would think that with a name like The Cheesemonger's Shop, there would be a large and varied selection of cheese. Not so. This place has mostly alcohol for sale with a few cheeses on hand along with meats, crackers and the sort. I didn't see anything really special like I was expecting except for a window display of a coconut cheese that I was told was out of stock. There were about 6 people in line while my friend and I were there, and after no movement after a few minutes, we left. Careful if stairs aren't your thing; they are steep here. I don't know if they are running short on staff or what, but their website is also not working.

I ordered a 3-month Cheese-of-the-Month gift shipment for my BFF who lives on the east coast and who loves cheese and is an excellent cook. I wanted to treat her to some of the amazing cheeses in my home state and you sent her a lovely selection each month. And WOW! She just received the April (and final) month and she is over the moon! She used one of the cheeses to make this amazing thing called a "Basque Burnt Cheesecake" and sent me a picture. It looks so yummy, something like a cross between a cheese cake and a souffle. Anyway, thanks Cheesemongers. My gift was sure a big hit! I will definitely be back for another order!

What a cool place. I mean everyone knows about wine tasting, cider tasting, but cheese tasting?! Sign. Me. Up. We visited this place during our trip to leavenworth over Christmas and loved the whole taste testing process. With so many delicious varieties to choose from, it was easy to get carried away. I'll take a bite of this.. better try a second of that one.. oh and that tasty morsel? Better just give me the whole slab. It was pretty packed for the holiday weekend but we were able to nudge and elbow our way to the counter in the name of cheese. The guy that helped us was super nice and took a challenging and perhaps even dangerous mission we gave him of presenting us with spicy cheese. Well the jalapeno havarti was pretty dang good but the ghost pepper?! That's another level of spicy. We ended up walking out of there with almost 40 bucks in cheese. As we depart, our mouths still burning with ghost pepper, the husband says he thought we were trying to get our grocery budget down? Me- well obviously I didn't mean giving up the cheese.. don't be silly.

The cheese was fantastic and the service is EXCEPTIONAL! They will go above and beyond to make the customer happy and are always polite and professional. So we were waiting for our reservation for dinner and had about over an Hour wait so decided to grab a little snack while we wait. The youngman that help us (long hair) was super helpful and very pleasant. He recommend a smoked Jalapeño sausage for us to try and we both loved it. Me being a cheese lover have my favorites but wanted to get something that compliments it and he suggested the Applewood cheese. After a try of that, instantly loved it. Even my boyfriend that doesn't care much for cheeses liked it. I had brought some pralines with me for the road and it matched this hors d'oeuvre perfectly! To top all of these off, they even sliced the sausage & cheese for me since we are staying in a hotel and don't really have good cutlery. I would Highly recommend this place!!! #delish

We were not intending to go to a cheese shop on our first drive through Leavenworth; instead, we wanted to purchase fishing licenses, but the fishing shop employee mentioned that cheese was only a few stores down so we had to give it a try. Their claim to fame is that they allow you to have as many samples as you want. They encourage it. What is that blue cheese like? Here's a sample. How do those soft cheeses taste? Here are some samples. Whoever came up this this sales strategy is a genius. Maybe it is common to do this in all cheese shops, but I have unfortunately not been in enough shops to know. We picked up a couple quarter pound blocks of cheese to have with crackers and were very pleased with the quality. We even returned with family members a week later to sample more cheeses and purchase a couple more quarter pound blocks. Mixed in amongst a bunch of touristy shops along the main street, the Cheesemonger's Shop is one of the few stores that is worth your time.

It seems like every time we are in Leavenworth and walking around downtown, we ultimately end up at the cheesemonger shop to see what sorts of lactose laden and fermented delights they have. The place is located in a downstairs storefront, so if feels sort of like you're going down into a cheese cellar. They have a really good selection of craft beer, some wine and ciders. The cheese selection isn't the biggest, but it's pretty solid. Lots of soft, hard and in between cheese choices. They always have samples out and they're more than happy to help you pick something out for the drive home. They also have a small selection of cured meats, perfect for your meat and cheese tray! While you're perusing the town, this is a great place to stop in and grab a snack, or try something you haven't tried before!

I always love getting my specialty cheese here, the staff are always friendly, even on the busiest days, I love how the shop is in a cellar too, that way it's warm in the winter months, and cool during the summer, I usually spend around $60-100 on cheese every time I come, and crave all the amazing cheeses here

This last excursion to Leavenworth was the first time that I went and tried The Cheesemonger's Shop, and man, am I glad I did! Outside of cheese, they've got nice selections of meats, pickled goods, random snacks, souvenirs, etc. But obviously, cheese is the star. I forget exactly what we tried, but we had some sort of gouda that was pretty tasty, a habanero cheese that was like a jacked up version of pepper jack (one of my favorites), but the cheese that absolutely slayed everything for me was the Westminster Smoked Cheddar. Holy. Shit. When I say this was the BEST CHEESE I've ever had, I mean it! I think the only thing that can be a little off putting is that they are a little expensive (at least I think so), and it's a pretty small shop so when it's busy in Leavenworth, expect a long line out the door before you get to sample/buy any yummy cheeses.

Every time I get ready to go to Leavenworth, I get excited to visit the Cheesemonger's shop. Being the cheese monger that I am, I make this one of my first stops. The store is simple- cheese, mustards, dried meat and accessories to enjoy them. That's just the way I like it. It is in the basement, so it's cool inside on as hot day. Look for the blue sign with the mouse and cheese. You can try any and all cheeses they offer with free samples. The prices are also very reasonable. We like to get a cheese spread, grab some fruit (sometimes they have it when it's in season) and enjoy it for lunch at lake Wenatchee just up the road from Leavenworth. There are many cheese types, one to please any palette. From sharp to mild, footy to flavor-rich. The staff is very friendly and good conversationalists.

3 Stars because they have great cheeses and meats, but when I went, I had terrible service! The guy at the counter was putting out samples for people to try, but wasn't really paying attention to any of the customers because he was too busy talking to some former employee gal. I was trying to ask about the cheese, but it was hard to get a word in their conversation! When I finally got a chance to ask about buying some, he checked with another employee who told him that they didn't have any of that cheese left.... too bad, because the maple bacon cheese was pretty good! My boyfriend and I did end up buying Icicle Brewing beer, which we were happy they sold individual bottles! We also bought two jerky sticks that they had in glass jars by the register, but the same guy at the counter just threw them in the same bag as the beer bottle! I would have liked them in a separate bag or something, so the bottle didn't get oily! Overall, this place would be okay to get in and get out, as it is pretty small in square footage and can get crowded, but I didn't feel like I could really enjoy myself and explore the different products!

Ernie is literally the best. Give this man a raise. He had me feeling like I just walked into my best friends house. I always come here every time I come to Leavenworth and it's because of the environment. Ernie took the cake on customer service. Hope to see you again when I return fam.

If you ever go to Leavenworth , YOU have to stop here . I mean of course if you love cheese ! Every time we go my fiancé loves loves loves when I say lives she LOVES cheese , we go here and always order a big order . I love that the workers know what they are talking about and depending on what you like they will recommend some types of cheeses . If you are curious on what this or that cheese might taste like don't hesitate and ask they WILL give you any kind of cheese sample to try .

Leavenworth isn't quite as magical without the Cheesemonger's shop. That being said, it has become more popular and the quality of service has gone way down in the past few years. I have memories of this place being totally out of this world. It was like having a 1 on 1 with a cheese expert when we used to go in. Our trip the other day was very different though. There was a short line outside that took us 15 minutes to get through. We walked down the stairs and it looked like a department store the day before Christmas. Absolute commotion. We waited in another line for another 15 minutes just to get a worker to help us. We asked for a ¼ pound of flagship, which it turns out you can get at Costco for about $6 a pound. Here, it was $22.99. All the worker had to do was cut a piece in half, weigh it, wrap it up, and ring us up. He stood at the cutting board doing absolutely nothing for 5 minutes. Then he finally weighed it and said it was 0.3 over. That would indicate double what we wanted. It was actually 0.03 over, which was fine. Then he took another 5 minutes wrapping the cheese in plastic wrap. We finally got the cheese, some dried sausage and crackers, and waited at the register while workers were running around, completely oblivious to me. I'm not kidding when I say we were at the register with our items and my card at the ready for 5 minutes, mere feet away from frantic workers. We finally got someone to ring us up, and we got out of this place as quickly as possible. They say they stock 80 different cheeses here. I saw about 20, and most of them looked pretty familiar. I bet you could go to your local Costco and buy 4 times the cheese for the same money. Plus you don't waste an hour overpaying for cheese that way.

For a place with amazing products and aesthetic, it is crazy to believe that these assets aren't even the best selling points. Instead however, it would seem the greatest aspect of my experience here was the amazing customer service we received from Jim. A man so mystifying that even Mt Olympus would not be an appropriate place for him. A man who not only cherishes his job but also the people he serves. A man so profound, there is not enough marble to construct a monument deserving his name. A man with the knowledge to rival even the ancient greek philosophers. A man who makes it his mission to make every customer feel they are of the upmost importance. A man who will not remember me or my purchase, but I will remember him for eternity. Godspeed Jim.

Honest to goodness the best cheese I've had in a LONG time, and I am a huge cheese nerd. It can feel a little cozy in the shop on a day like today (summer Sunday afternoon), and parking can be a challenge, but it is so worth it. Even though there were plenty of people in the store, I still feel like I got a lot of personal attention. I didn't ask for the name of the man who helped us, but he was super personable and knowledgeable, two things that are vital in such a specialized shop. We went out on a limb and tried the Kokos Coconut Gouda, honestly not expecting much because it sounded like an odd combo, but the cheese was surprisingly really delicious and mild. We also picked up some cotswold cheddar and cambozola (two of my favorites). Everything was very reasonably priced, it didn't feel like we were going to a cheesemonger in a tourist spot, more like a neighborhood cheese shop. We asked for a recommended pairing with their huge assortment of fruit spreads for the coconut cheese and he recommended the tart cherry which was absolutely perfect. We just finished our cheese plates and we both marveled in our post-cheese bliss. We picked up a ginger lambic and a kriek to go with our cheeses, along with some frozen and pre-cooked sausages. We were able to check off everything on our list of what we wanted from Leavenworth in one stop! For real, I'm so happy we braved the parking and crowds to come here. It is so worth it. We can't wait to come back. And will definitely be joining their cheese of the month club which is a steal for the price. Thank you so much for a perfect end to our weekend! You made our trip excellent! And thank you again to the guy at the counter (sorry I didn't ask your name!) Because your recommendations were on point!

Lots of good stuff, and many German products. I liked their different types of cheese and chocolates that I'd never seen before. The entrance goes downstairs to get to the store, but you can find lots of goodies here.

You have to go here. I wish we had a place like this closer to home. Go in, ask for their favorite, and give it all a shot. I love cheese and this was amazing.

One of my go-to spots in Leavenworth! The land of unlimited samples. Loved the fruity Stilton and the famous Gouda (starts with a V and has a red outside). They don't have cougar gold cheese sadly!!! But they had cheeses very similar, and the guy that was helping us gave us samples of them:) the worker stays with you from greeting to check out which is really nice! Give this place a try.

They are the Les Schwab of customer service! Cheese/meat are amazing and the staff really stand out. Excellent experience!

How does this place not have 5 stars across the board? The staff is so friendly and welcoming, and promotes getting to know their product! They are not pushy to purchase but truly seem to want to educate and inform, which is so rare to find. If you like cheese, you don't even have to love it [but why don't you??] and you are in Leavenworth, you must go!!

what's not to love about this place??? It was pretty busy when I came it, the family that was there was sampling close to the entire case, the guys didn't seem to mind that the family didn't even buy anything. I myself sampled close to a dozen flavors, the guys suggested flavors and answered all my questions. I bought a ton of cheese and some crackers. I was in Washington for a whole week, I toted the cheese around with me, I brought it home and am still enjoying the wonderful flavors

Service here is top notch and their cheese selection is great and they will pretty much let you try anything and everything. Who doesn't love a bit of cheese with wine? stopped by to see if they had any great soft or truffle cheeses to try. They let us try so many different types of cheese and fell in love with a garlic cheese and a jalapeno cheese so got a bit of both. They did have some great truffle cheeses but my friends who I were with don't really like truffle (WHAT?!??!?!) so yeah. the guy who helped was so helpful and informative. They also do a really good smoked cheedar too.

Daniel helped us on our recent visit. I had wanted to know if they carried raw cheese as I can digest those far easier than I can pasterized cheeses. I asked thinking the answer would be no, but to my great surprise, he had more then two options, like your general grocery store usual has. He opened my husband and up to cheeses I didn't even know existed. Like the cave aged gruyere and sheep parmesan. So delicious! But it isn't only the raw cheeses that are delicious. Their smoked apple cheddar was dynamite, as was the coconut cheese (pulled pork anyone?) Anyways you have to stop here if in Leavenworth!!!!

Down the stairs awaits a bevy of good things, my friends! While the view from the street doesn't show much to travel down the steps for there are wonderful things awaiting you in The Cheesemonger's Shop. We were greeted with a sample of a wonderful Irish Port cheese that immediately was ordered. Havarti was next followed by some sausage jerky and we could have ordered the whole store if the car was bigger. The staff is amazing and knowledgeable, they almost know more about what you want than you do. The vast array of cheeses from simple cheddar to complex exotic milks to even a coconut cheese tantalize the senses. Other things await you as well, like beer and soda, crackers and dips. If I ever wanted to open a cheese shop I imagine it would look a lot like this. On your next trip to Leavenworth this is your must hit spot. You'll thank me later. A nice compliment would do.

This place was a madhouse! A madhouse with good reason, great selection, tons of samples, and great Friday. Expect a wait but it's worth it!

I think this a definite place you have to stop by if you're ever in Leavenworth. It's so worth it to try out their amazing variety of cheeses and to talk to their knowledgeable staff! You can try any of the cheeses you want and they also help by making suggestions. It's a good way to branch out into more uncommon cheeses without having to buy blindly. The customer service is just fantastic and I would come back just to listen to them talk about cheese. My only other comment is that I wish the shop was bigger as it can get crowded pretty fast!

I came into the Cheesemonger's shop for the first time this past weekend. I am a cheese fanatic so being in here was heavenly. The customer service is AMAZING! The man that helped me was so nice and descriptive about each cheese I sampled. I went home with Beemster Garlic Gouda, Cheeseland Truffle Noir, and Facerock Vampire Slayer. They were all so delicious in their own special way! I am SO sad I didn't buy more. This place is literally the best and I cannot wait to go back! If you are in Leavenworth and you love cheese, this is not a place to be missed.

Recently I took my first trip to Leavenworth. It was a quick midweek outing. I was so excited to find the city quiet. The last day of the trip we stayed in our cabin. For lunch we built a meat and cheese plate filled with goodies from town. The Cheesemonger's Shop was where we collected four fine cheese specimens. A lovely cheddar, some hefty garlic cheddar, a smooth Gouda and a funky blue. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. They will give you a taste of any cheese you like. We happened to be the only ones in the store for a few minutes. It was a bit overwhelming having three people trying to sample to us. It made it hard to remember what you were tasting and why. It was only a few moments before the store was bristling with other customers and the staff was able to adjust and spread out there focus. Dear not. There are plenty of tasty delights for sale to pair with your cheese. Delicious place to stop for something to bring home.

Samples samples samples! This place is a cheese lover's dream come true! The Cheesemonger may not have the largest selection, but they do have cheese I have never heard of before! Their staff are cheese lovers themselves, super enthusiastic and are not shy to recommend you their favourite! The minimal amount of cheese is a quarter of a pound, which really is plenty (for a lactose intolerant such as myself). The pricing is decent, i just love that you can sample any cheese your heart desires (that's in the shop, of course) When we went to pay, they even asked if we wanted plates and a plastic knife in case we want to eat it! Quite a thoughtful touch. I can't wait to indulge on my cheeses!

I walked in with no intention of actually buying cheese... Though I do love cheese. I walked out with over $45 of cheese, sausage, and beer. Their little samples of cheese are gonna get you if you are lucky enough to try them. My entire family tried the applewood smoked cheddar and could not believe our taste buds. So incredibly delicious. Another favorite was the cheese that is loaded with chives. They have a nice selection of sausages, European beers and other German groceries items as well. Try the laeger (sp?) smoked sausage that they keep on the counter. It is outstanding.

Don't let the pungent smell when you enter the shoppe distract you from keeping your eye on the prize! Cheese is aged, smoked, flavored and including different regions and animals to boot! These kind ladies & gentleman are very approachable, not pompous and great resources into the cheese world. I always felt intimidated by these type of shops as the employees know what they are doing and I do not. I must establish trust ad rapport quickly in order to work forward and the courage to ask about and experience new cheeses. The staff asked if I like this type and that type while establishing a good baseline as to what direction we should travel. I started with younger while cheeses and worked through some of the more funky, pungent, well-aged varieties. The samples are generous which makes for a memorable experience. I know I tasted an espresso infused cheddar? Wild combinations along with outstanding selection. If you are staying in hotel the staff provides small paper plates and plastic utensils for cutting etc. They an awesome supply of local, craft beers--most are room temp and the cooler supply is small. The meat selection is reasonable. This is a MUST for any vacationers.

We visited last year and weren't impressed. Turns out the reason we weren't impressed was because we didn't know they would give you samples of any cheese you asked to try. This year we asked and this year we were impressed. The employee who was serving us was friendly and knowledgeable. The cheese sample he was handing out was the chedder/onion chive which he described as tasting like a baked potato. He was right. This was an incredible cheese. We also really liked and bought the applewood smoked cheddar and the cave aged Gruyère. Don't think you know Gruyère until you've tasted this cheese. It's not the mild stuff you find in the supermarket deli cases; this is Gruyère which rivals the best Parmigiano-Reggiano in taste and quality. The Cheesemonger's Shop is a must-visit in Leavenworth. If it's too crowded around the cheese counter, just come back later when it might be less crowded. That's what we did and we were well-rewarded for it.

Amazing service and the some of the best liverwurst I've ever had! They have samples of the day and will let u sample others you might be interested in. If you tell them what kinds of flavors you like they usually have recommendations for you as well.

The Cheesemonger's Shop is small and a little hard to find (down a narrow stairway - look for the hanging sign), but definitely worth finding. For such a small place, they have so many different cheeses, plus sausages, and a good beer and wine selection. I generally end up hitting this place at least twice when I visit Leavenworth because I end up eating all the cheese I buy meaning to take home...

What did the Sushi say to the Bee? Wassssaaaabi!? You know you at least smirked, it's ok, so did I after the friendly counter attendant dropped this bomb on me. (she was giving me a sample of wassabi cheese, which was delicious) The staff in general was extremely sweet, efficient, and helpful. In addition to various imported cheeses (they don't make any of their own, which would be nice, someone should get on that!) they also offer various cured meats (get some landjaegers, you'll thank me later), sauces and a VERY good selection of imported and craft beers (that you buy by the bottle). They had various imports I haven't seen anywhere else in Washington and at surprisingly reasonable prices (even if you were to buy them somewhere other than a tourist town). Keep up the good work guys, and thanks for making me feel welcome!

Soo delicious! Love cheese and this place was awesome! Its cute that its located downstairs and gives you a warm vibe. They had sample white cheddar cheese. It was yummy! The staff is friendly and my friend and I left with some cheese. I highly recommend their vast assortment of cheese and local wines.

The best variety of cheese from all over the world!! Staff is very friendly and happy to offer samplings of cheese. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Know their stuff! Every worker in there was very attentive and helpful. Great variety/flavors of their cheeses. Bought way more than we needed and enjoyed every flavor we purchased. If you love cheese, you need to stop by!
