Google
Authentic food, amazing service, and cultural atmosphere. This place give every local a taste of "el Patio." For those that have never been to Dominican Republic this location brings all the flavors of my native land. It definitely makes you feel like your back home . FYI they also offer Hooka in their outdoor seating. The mixed meat Yaro is gully's loaded with chicken, cheese, French fries, sweet plantain and sauces is filling, juicy, and delicious. The shrimp mini mofonguitos are a definite go to. The cream garlic alajillo is the my favorite. This is a must go when in the Orlando area.

Google
Nice spot, first time visiting, food presentation great, not too big, not too small, flavors were perfect, food was hot as made to order, I which my mofongo had a side of chicken stock, or melted butter with garlic to not be dry, mind you it was not super dry, but I'm so used to very place where I have eaten mofongo to include a small portion of liquid for it, otherwise everything was great, would definetly come back!!!

Google
I ordered the chicharrón de pollo con tostones. They gave me the chicken burned to such a point that it was completely inedible. I placed the order to go so I did not know until I got home.

Google
Nice place and tasty food. The owner is very attentive as well as the staff. Presidente vestida de novia.

Google
Came here because of the reviews to be honest the food is amazing. Had a bit of a hard time ordering, but that's only downside to my visit today. Once the owner came out to assist everything was great .

Google
This place was great, the food was delicious the service was great. I speak very little Spanish and my wife doesn't speak any so I was worried when we walked in and were greeted in Spanish. Luckily I know enough to figure out the staff were asking if we wanted the food for To-go or dine in. Once I explained that I only know a little Spanish, the waitress very kindly said " ok I speak English" . Everything was as close to perfect as it could have been from there. Great food, great location, great prices. 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
Went here the other day with my kids and as always I enjoy reading reviews before I take one for my team. So I go here because I was not in the mood to cook. I wasn't happy in any way how I had to wait about 20 minutes before anyone even came to take my order after I was instructed to take a seat and look over the menu. My son orders the salteado steak... it was gummy and had too much vinegar. The rice was terrible. My daughter ordered mofongo wity what was their version of chicken strips... let's just say she barely touched anything. I ordered mofongo con carne frita. The fried pork was mainly fat with barely any meat... absolutely terrible. The mofongo was half way decent. Would I ever go here again... absolutely not. Never... I'd rather take the drive to the Chimi king on Alafaya where they really cook with love. If it has no love while being created I don't want it

Yelp
Tasty food, large portions, prices a little high. We hadn't had Dominican food previously but we enjoyed it. The chicken is very well seasoned.

Yelp
The food is Amazing, expect to wait to get your food as well. Do not expect to get to your table quickly...plan plenty of time to wait for it.! The down side is getting into this plaza...some type of dance studio clogs the traffic up let alone the traffic on Goldenrod...but the taste is awesomeness..Maybe a door dash idea?

Yelp
Really good food in a small inconspicuous spot. The food was delicious and the portions were enormous. I went in for lunch and was really pleased with the service from the staff. They were super friendly and helpful with recommendations. I had the Yaroa de Pollo which was like a loaded fries type meal. It had shredded chicken, melted cheese and mayo ketchup. Really delicious and I had plenty to take home.

Yelp
2nd time ordering, sliders are incredible n deserve an award. Pork strips tasted very good and fresh meat. The rice had salt , thank you! Very flavorful, beans also good with rice. Cant wait to order these sliders again tho!!

Yelp
5 STAR!! I ordered the grilled chicken with tostones. Los tostones estan fresco y no frisados. Buenisimo!!

Yelp

Yelp
Saw this on Tik Tok; figured I would try it out. I'll be back! It wasn't a total win, but it certainly deserves another chance. Let's talk about my cons * I ordered the "Pepe". Not a fan at all!!! The burger meat wasn't good quality at all. Never again. I hear this is a typical Dominican burger. Sorry- I thought I loved all Dominican food but not all, apparently. * I asked for tap water but they come out with a bottled water. I'm starting to see this more and more in restaurants, Latin ones for that. Not a fan! I'm about to start bringing my own water into these places. Let's talk about pros * place is very clean * staff is awesome, sweet and very attentive * the chimi spot sliders. Outstanding * passion fruit drink is fire * my wife's chimi chicken burger was good. I'll be back, try out some new dishes next time and see if I have a greater experience.

Yelp
Found it on Yelp after a long trip to Orlando. Fresh chimis made to order. I'm used to the stuff from Washington Heights. This is not that. But we tried the chicken and original beef, going to pass on the chicken next time. Combo served with fries and mayokechu. Hot and tasty open late. With all your fave Jarritos.

Yelp
The food was amazing and the service was great! I split the Chimi Sandwich with Chicken, Yuca Fries, Sliders with Plantain, and Tres Leches Cake with my mom. We even had some leftovers!

Yelp
Loved everything about this spot. It is small but everything they bring out is big! A great amount of food and big flavor ... it's called the chimi spot but it has got to be recognized for much more. We haven't had good Spanish food like this in a while! Where you can find Dominican and Puerto Rican food. The place is small and the staff is so friendly you feel like you are family. We had the "El Pepe" chimi and it has been some of the best we've had! The surf and turf was delicious and the creole sauce that the shrimp were bathed in was heavenly. Our last main plate was the pechuga al maduro which was crispy, tender and had the maduro and cheese inside of it . The sides were just as good as the main plates. Can't forget about the mofongo that actually had chunks of chicharron! The queso frito with the the guava sauce drizzle. And can't forget the tres leches for dessert.

Yelp
Fantastic experience! Food was absolutely amazing and the service was friendly and attentive. It's in a small space in a strip mall on Goldenrod, so we were on the fence on how it would be... but we're so so happy we stopped! We were running to an event so on limited time, and the food came out quickly and very fresh. We got the tostones as a side, which were delicious. And then two of the chicken with onions and peppers plates, with the sides of rice and beans. The chicken was perfectly tender and seasoned, and the rice and beans were fantastic. The restaurant was well kept, seemed pretty new, and was very clean in both the dining area and restrooms. Great experience and delicious food!

Yelp
My favorite dominican food so far. From the first time, the service from the girls was very friendly and kind (I've been back 5 times and always receive good attention). I would like to see this restaurant grow little by little because it's truly excellent and deserves a lot of customers. Although the restaurant is kind of small and limited in seats, there are always tables available.

Yelp
Hágase un favor y visite este restaurante. La comida es absolutamente increíble: todo lo que probamos muy rico y auténtico. El servicio es inigualable. Absolutamente el mejor restaurante que visitamos durante nuestras vacaciones. ¡Altamente recomendado! Do yourself a favor and visit this restaurant. The food is absolutely incredible: everything we tried was delicious and authentic. The service is unmatched. Absolutely the best restaurant we visited during our vacation. Highly recommended!

Yelp
After a long day of traveling, my family and I were not only tired, but STARVING. Knowing that Florida has good Spanish food we were craving just that. We ordered delivery from this place and during our trip we just kept talking about the amazing food for a good price too. My mom ordered the fried fish which she said was crispy and not oily. She really enjoyed that it just didn't taste salty but rather flavored with herbs. We both loved the fried tostones. They weren't greasy and rather than frying it twice, which I'm used to, it seemed like it was lightly fried which was different but was done well as it still was crispy but also light and not oily. I ordered the steak which was so tender and not tough. It literally melted in my mouth. It was well grilled. We also ordered the Mofongo trio and I am used to my plantains being a little more softer, but the star of the show was the shrimp in butter sauce which was amazing. Again not salty, but well seasoned and herby. The lemonade tasted more like a limeade and what I loved about it was it was tart, not sugary and had the hint of vanilla essence just like how my mom does it. This place hit the spot and was a nice welcome to Orlando.

Yelp
Found this place on Uber, and really wanted to try in person. Arianna was our waitress & was attentive even with us sitting outside. The food was really good and fresh. We had their sliders for an appetizer, shrimp mofongo for dinner and tres leche for dessert. We will definitely come back to try more food items!

Yelp
Love finding Dominican spots around town that have a good vibe paired with delicious food!!! The quipes and trifongo were pretty good and the staff was extremely attentive. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes.

Yelp
A very small Dominican food establishment, this place serves very good food, at reasonable prices. However, the place lights up at night, when they have live entertainment. Follow them on Facebook, they posts the schedule. If you are into romantic Spanish music, I recommend Wednesdays.

Nestor R.

Yelp
Sol was my waitress and she's the best !! food was amazing and service was top quality. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal !

Yelp
The food was amazing! Alfonsina helped us and was very helpful. Had the mofongo and it was amazing

Yelp
Third time was the charm!!!! Came with two friends from Texas and let me tell you that the food was outstanding. They left very impressed with the presentation and the taste of food. We order a picadera as a starter and it was the best out of the two time I have order it there. From the Churrasco, Mofongo with shrimp, bistec asado and carne frita con Mofongo all was amazing and very flavorful. I attached all of the picture so you can have an idea of what I am talking about. We left very full and happy with the overall experience. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Dont change and stay consistent.

Mary S.

Yelp
The bad: the guy behind the counter was not friendly at all. He did not acknowledge nor welcome me into the restaurant. When I started to ask questions about their menu he seemed annoyed. THEY CHARGE EXTRA IF YOU USE A CREDIT CARD! I did not see a sign displaying this anywhere but saw it on my receipt. The good: the waitress was friendly. The food made the initial crappy reception worth it. I'm not a big fan of mofongo but theirs was the best I have ever had. The pork skin was crispy and not chewy. The garlic sauce was an added bonus. The side salad was tasty. The food presentation was great as well. Something you don't usually get from restaurants within this price range. I will be back but they should remove that guy from the register or teach him some customer service skills, like manners.
google avatar

Leonardo P.

Yelp
Two stars just because the service was exceptional, wasted $50 here unfortunately. Pork shops are not marinated but deep fried, mofongo the worse I've eat it. Can't comeback to this places.
google avatar

Yelp
LOVE!!! Will be coming back. I placed an order for pick up, an original chimi, chicken empanada and you can't complete a Dominican meal without the morir soñado. Everything was amazing from service, to ambiance, pricing and quality of food. If you're looking for authentic Dominican food this is your place to go. I will be returning to try pretty much everything on their menu lol.

Andrea D.

Yelp
horrible food... didn't give the right food I ordered & too expensive for the bad quality. The picadera they didn't have tostones at first then barely any carne frita or steak. Also the chimi had no sauce, super dry, I could've made it better at home.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! I ordered the small sampler platter through Uber eats and it arrived hot and fresh even after delivery. The portion size was huge for a small! Everything was fried perfectly- not greasy, not burnt, just perfect. The seasoning they used on the meat was delicious and the tostones were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I also liked that the fried cheese was in big chunks instead of thin pieces that burn too easily. I'll definitely be ordering from here again!
google avatar

Saidy C.

Yelp
I wanted to try this place for a while I finally got a chance to do so and I was not disappointed the food is really good the presentation is appealing. I've tried a few items from the menu. The Chimi what's a little bit on the dry side but it was still good not the best but really good.
google avatar

Senica L.

Yelp
I was so hungry I forgot to take photos of the food! Just know there was nothing but bones left on my plate when I was done! Delicious Dominican food served by Dominicans (note our waitress didn't speak english but that wasn't an issue for us). I ordered fried pork chop with mofongo (mashed plantains that has crispy pork skin mashed in) and a side order of white rice and beans. Everything was delicious! The pork was juicy, tender, and oh so flavorful! (The porkchop was served with a small salad as well!) I was surprised that the mofongo didn't come with any sauce. I asked for mojo or garlic sauce and the best she could offer was garlic butter. Without any sauce I found the mofongo to be on the dryer side but it was still good. The restaurant is small and casual. We dined at the restaurant but there were many people who arrived to pickup online orders or came to get items to go. That night they were playing only bachata music which I'm obsessed with so I had a great time! Next time I'm in Orlando I will definitely be returning!

Yelp
Excelente servicio, calidad y comida ... Totalmente recomendado Y el personal respetuoso y amable.

Yelp
The Chimi de Rel was under cooked. Chínola Juice was really good. The yaroa de pollo was alright too much sauce like ketchup mayo and cheese on it. They drowned it. I don't want to add a picture of the Chimi bc I don't want to hurt the business but I'm from out of town found the Instagram, it looks amazing but don't believe the hype.
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
Although I've only had their empanadas I can tell you this restaurant is always clean and the food is always cooked fresh. I'm a door dash driver and I am in here picking up orders at least 3-5 times a week. Customer service is top notch! They really care about their customers and even the delivery drivers which is very rare to find now a days. I'd recommend everyone trying them and supporting this local spot. Thank you for always being kind and going out of your way for your customers.
google avatar

Kima T.

Yelp
Great place! Soila is great and very responsive. She went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. The food was hot and made to order. I had the mofongo trio and the skirt steak. It was great and I will be back.
google avatar

Terry M.

Yelp
It was too hard to order I don't think the servers know the type of food they're really serving
google avatar

Daniel H.

Yelp
Came in to chimi spot thinking that they specialize in just chimis and was mistaken. They're plates are well made, reasonably priced and flavorful! The highlight was the shrimp in the creole sauce which I poured over the mofongo! The mofongo itself was moist and not dry and made correct with crispy pieces of chicharones! Would definitely return

Gregory S.

Yelp
Not just because I am Dominican, but this restaurant is authentic and DELICÍOSO!!!!!!!! Staff is beyond courteous and professional. The setting, decor and music are perfectly put together to make you feel like you're eating at home or your "abuelas" house!!!! Thank you very much Chimispot for becoming our home away from home to eat!!! OMGGGGGGGGGG, the queso fríto with the guava sauce should be made illegal for its addictive nature!!! Again, thank you thank you!!

Yelp
This has been one of the most disrespectful customer service interactions I've ever had. I'm all for empathy which apparently the entire team, seems to lack. I ordered a small sampler in which the picture let's you understand that maybe 7-8 pieces of fried cheese will come with it, a hefty amount of meats etc.. i received 4 pieces of chicken, 5 small pieces of fried beef and 2 pieces of cheese.. I've ordered this dish multiple times (same size SMALL) before and i was surprised so i called the restaurant.. A young lady answers and forgets to mute the line and in Spanish says "there's some idiot calling about less portions, can you handle it" which infuriated me honestly. I composed myself to set the example with positive intent and the manager answers... he interrupter me while explaining the process 4 times to a point where i had to call him out about his rudeness and also his excuse for the lack of portions which was ( we changed our portions and now it's by a half pound) which makes NO SENSE if you have not UPDATED YOUR MENU to let other customers know. You simply cannot change portions and expect regular customers to pay you the exact same amount, for less food. This place has delicious dishes but the level of customer service i received that day made me realize that there many other spots where customers are actually valued and treated as PEOPLE to the bare minimum. Personally, I will never be eating here again and wherever i step i will warn everyone about how immature and ignorant the team at Chimi Spot is.

Ric R.

Yelp
Simply terrible, my family and I visited this restaurant and we ordered the following dishes: sancocho, carne frita con tostones, a beef chimi(which tasted like pure gas) mofongo de camarones en salsa criolla(tasted terrible), nope, I don't n on how this place has this many good reviews, maybe the good cook was vacation, but I have to be honest. Sorry guys!!!

Yanitza P.

Yelp
Best Dominican food in town So much flavor!!! The food makes me feel like I am back In Dominican Republic! Highly recommend Chimi Spot to anyone looking for authentic Dominican food or Latin food in general.

heather n.

Yelp
Friendly waitress delicious food quick and memorable experience! Will come again! Thank you!

Yelp
I was excited to find this spot so close to me! My favorite Dominican restaurant is further away and I saw they had yaroa! It's a small spot with a few tables and chairs (we ordered to go because of social distancing and etc. happening) I was a bit underwhelmed with what I ordered but I will give it another try. My friend ordered a meal with chicken, rice, beans and that was great. So I'll update once I try again because I want to love this place! I also tried the passion fruit juice which was just okay it didn't taste super fresh.

Yelp
Amazing food. Came from Fort Lauderdale visiting family and definitely a spot I will come back to on my next trip!

Yelp
Looking for an authentic Dominican Chimi Spot look no further. This place has everything you would get from the truck at El Malecón in the Dominican Republic. Starting with their very generous plate of Picaderas to their Chimi El "Pepe". The seasoning hits the spot and then some. We also had the Camarones en salsa with Mofongo and it did not disappoint. The service was also impressive and very welcoming. From this Puerto Rican Foodie I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great food.

Steven P.

Yelp
This is a place that you would definitely drive past by and not think twice about it being a very good chimi spot. I would definitely 100% recommend this place the tamarindo, cereza, and morir sonando juices were on point. I wouldn't say this is an authentic Dominican restaurant but it's the closest thing I can say that I have had coming from New York City. The chimi sandwich was very good just needed to be thicker and have less cabbage. The tres leche cake was good but not certain if it was made in house or store bought as the center was still frozen (possibly could've been in a deep freezer). This spot also had some other classic drinks including country club soda which is a Dominican Republic staple soft drink. Presidente was also a available by the bottle along with corona beers. The place is small but the food is good and the prices are great along with the service from the waitresses. I will definitely come back here to eat again for some good Spanish comfort food.

Yelp
OMG! So glad I gave this place a shot, the food is so yummy! I ordered the Churrasco with Batata Frita, the Fried Cheese - Queso Frito app with Tostones, and a side of rice and beans. The churrasco was supposed to come with chimichurri which it did not and I was rather sad about, but the meat is soooo flavorful even on its own! Very beefy with a nice char grilled flavor. The batata frita was a surprise-- I'm not Dominican so I didnt know what to expect, but I was thinking something along the lines of papas fritas, but make it sweet potato. Nah, that's not it. It's actually triangles of fried sweet potato, but it must be some kind of white variety because it was PALE. Flavor wasn't bad or anything, just a little dry and I preferred the tostones. The queso frito app was delish. I had never seen queso frito that cost $10 so I was a little wary, but I was craving it so gave it a shot anyway. It's a good value! You get a lot of cheese pieces and it comes with a side as well, so I went with the tostones and they did not skimp on those either. The tostones were crispy but tender, not those super hard, dry hockey pucks you sometimes get. The rice and beans were good too! I'll def be ordering from here again.

Michael L.

Yelp
Best Dominican food I've had in Orlando. And very pleasant staff. And catch this: They're open late on Sunday and they offer takeout. ¡Que chèvre!

Marivin T.

Yelp
This place was so delicious! We got the quipes and they were amazing!! The retro chimi was also super good! The place was clean and very cute! The service was great. Zoila was great!
google avatar

Marilyn N.

Yelp
Great food and tostones were crispy which most places don't get right. Was great home cooked food. One draw back, they forgot to include my chimichurri sauce when ordering take out from the Chimi spot!

Yelp
I just moved to the area and was looking for a Dominican spot. I have to say the food was amazing.
