The food is overall impressive. We ordered two soups. The papaya soup is unique and pleasant. Not overly fruity. The fish maw soup was cooked with chicken and almond, a unique combination that is not so traditional. Nonetheless, it was pleasant.
The roast meat is expectedly good for a hotel restaurant. We had the cha siew and the roast pork belly, both are done well. If the cha siew were to be a little more fatty, it will be heavenly.
We also ordered a tofu dish meshed with meat. This was pretty in its presentation. It resembles tiny golden pillow. They taste good as well. The minced meat in it gives the tofu a firmer feeling.
Our last dish was the 干炒牛河 literally translated as dry fried beef flat rice noodles. Its aroma was good. The beef was tasty and tender. The hor fun or flat rice noodles was not soft enough and a tad too thick. Would be lovely if they were so.
The young gentleman who serve us was thoughtful and polite. He spotted one of our cards was the one the restaurant was having a promotion. He voluntarily pointed to us. Besides that, he was attentive to our needs.
The ambience was very pleasant when we first reached there with one other family. As the restaurant is small and the tables are placed close together, as the crowd comes in, it soon become unbearably loud. The good thing was that we were about to finish our dinner.
Overall, a nice restaurant to visit.
