"Artisanal Chocolate in Monti Autumn in Rome means the return of chocolate season! Artisanal chocolate shops slow their productions during the hot summer months, focusing instead on Jordan almonds, fruit jellies and other non-melty sweets. By November, the city's few but delectable chocolate shops are back in action. La Bottega del Cioccolato in Monti sells beautifully packaged and loose milk and dark chocolate from its displays that resemble a jewelry shop counter. In the winter, they also sell hot chocolate to take away."

Superb chocolate all year round. During the winter period they do even a cup of (addictive) warm chocolate, water based chocolate, without milk and thickeners

Contrairement au chocolat chaud italien avec de la maïzena ici c'est un vrai chocolat chaud seulement avec du cacao. La patronne est acceuillante et français. J'ai été content de pouvoir échanger en français cela me change de l'anglais

Yelp
Holy Italian cioccolato! So before I left for Rome, I did some research on where to buy chocolate because, well, I seek out the best chocolate everywhere that I go. Now, I had forgotten about this place until (happily), I came across it quite by accident while strolling around Monti. So of course, I stopped in. I was greeted by the store clerk who I first thought was a little mean-looking. However. She was a delightful woman who spoke to me in French and took the time to tell me about the different flavors, pricing etc. she was very helpful and didn't rush me as I decided which flavors I wanted. Great service. I selected a handful of flavors - about ten pieces of chocolate, and these cost 8€. Let me tell you one very important thing: this chocolate is totally worth the price. Thus far, I've tried the orange slice dipped in dark chocolate, and the lemon peel (also dipped in dark chocolate) and I can confirm that we are looking at quality. Fantastic flavors! The chocolatier makes each piece right there so you know it's authentic and fresh. Interestingly, the chocolatier is the son of the man who owns the very well known Moriondo è Gariglio, who happens to be Rome's oldest chocolate shop - so he learned from the best. If you're in Monti, these guys are worth the detour.

Yelp
This Aladdin's cave of chocolates and sweets is tempting all year round, although the window displays really pop at Easter and Christmas with themed goodies. If you're just expecting top quality handmade chocolates, you won't be disappointed; but this store has plenty more to offer as well. Jams, teas and infusions, jellies, biscuits, sugared almonds and chocolate spreads and crèmes make it tough for even the most self-disciplined shopper to leave empty-handed. They also serve an excellent hot chocolate, to drink inside or take away. The service is friendly and attentive, and although the handmade chocolates are quite pricey, you won't be disappointed with the quality. Remember, chocolate is made from a bean so technically it's a vegetable! ;) Eat your veggies! Yum!

Yelp
You don't know what real hot chocolate is until you've been here! If you're touring either the forum or Colosseum on a cold day, I highly recommend the short walk for a cup of rich dark chocolate.
