Porto, Portugal, Named Leading Seaside Metropolitan Destination at 2024 World Travel Awards

"Arts and culture enthusiasts will find plenty of points of interest in Gaia, as well. WOW is a new, centrally located cultural district boasting a selection of shops, 12 restaurants and bars, and seven museums. Some highlights include the (perhaps self-explanatory) Chocolate Story, a museum that dives deep into the history of chocolate production." - Lindsay Cohn Lindsay Cohn Lindsay Cohn is a writer, editor, and avid traveler who has visited 45 countries across six continents — and counting. Nice setting/display for the shop. It's exciting, amusing, and fun to look around. Hot chocolate at the cafe is so rich, creamy, and yummy. You must try!

It was a pleasant surprise: a thorough introduction to chocolate making, from cocoa bean cultivation to production. There was also a tasting session and a chance to win a bar of chocolate at the end of the exhibition. :)

Instead of paying high price of tickets, you should go directly to the chocolate shop. You can find delicious chocolate there. I visited it few times and every time I bought goodies here. About the museum, the price is too high. There is a some interactions, chocolate tastings and you can learn something about the story of cocoa and chocolate, but it would be better to watch a good documentary at Netflix and save money to buy real chocolate.

The Chocolate Museum in Porto is a must-visit for anyone who loves chocolate! This interactive museum lets you see, taste, and smell the history of chocolate, making it a truly immersive experience. The friendly and welcoming staff make the visit even more enjoyable, ensuring a fun time for visitors of all ages. It’s the perfect place for a family outing, where both kids and adults can learn, explore, and indulge in delicious treats. Set aside about 90 minutes to fully enjoy everything the museum has to offer. A fantastic spot for chocolate lovers and families looking for a unique experience in Porto!

Chocolate Experience gave a great overview of chocolate from plant to bar. Not quite as interactive as the wine museum, it still provided a lot of information and some fun facts and chocolate tastings. Eliana and Nuno were great, provided some great final tastings,.

This museum has interactive elements and really fun information about the history of chocolate. They have a tasting and the people are amazingly sweet. They will give you a fun explanation of chocolate and it's history and answer any questions you have. I'm so impressed I'll be recommending this to anyone who will listen. Buying tickets online can be cheaper and the deals they have with the other museums of WOW are well worth it.

Ita a good museum and you get something like €5 back in chocolate samples. We certainly learned much more about chocolate than we knew our whole lives! 🍫 🚻 Has restrooms 📶 Has WiFi 🍷 Has wine

If you’ve ever dreamed of stepping inside Wikipedia, this chocolate museum will make your wish come true. Every wall, every corner, every display is absolutely packed—with words. Lots and lots of words. It’s an educational paradise for anyone who loves reading paragraphs about cocoa history, but for children (or anyone who prefers to taste chocolate rather than study it), it might feel more like homework than fun. Families with kids or anyone allergic to too much text—consider yourselves warned.
