The Church Chester Bar & Restaurant

Hidden gem. Blink and you’ll miss it kind of place but definitely one to watch out for next time we come here. Staff downstairs and upstairs made sure to recommend ordering through the app to take advantage of the discount code saving. We ordered the platter. Steak was beautifully cooked. Burgers were juicy and seasoned nicely. We can’t understand why the place isn’t more crowded. Thank you to the staff for making us so welcome.

Was lovely inside and unique setting, the cocktails was average and lacking a bit of atmosphere on a Friday night but was ok for a few drinks

First time here, amazing pub. Cheaper if you buy 2 bottles. Back here Aug 2025, young barman Tyler is great, nothing to much trouble. Happy hour 5-8pm Only opens at 5pm. Mark and Tyler, 2 great barmen. 👍😎

Went here Christmas eve, place is amazing inside, great architecture and kept all original features with a modern twist, gorgeous food and the best cocktails. Shut early as it was Xmas eve, but can imagine it being a buzz at a normal weekend.

If you want to spend time enjoying good food and fine wine in lovely surroundings the Church is the place. We were met by one of the waitresses and shown to our table,high up overlooking the well stocked bar.We were well looked after by all the girls and we had a great afternoon.The food which was only going to be a snack turned into a feast, amazing.The chuch itself was so interesting to see and all the work done was great.Well worth a visit.

Great restaurant and bar with wide selection of drinks and food in the heart of the city. You can sit in the terrace outside and enjoy the weather or enjoy the classic cozy ambience inside. Prices are reasonable and portion is decent. Service is quick and staff is friendly.

Beautiful restaurant/bar infused into a church next to the Grovesnor Shopping Centre in Chester. Lots to look at and very intriguing the way its been constructed. Food is basic pub grub and tasty and a variety of drinks amazing priced! The outdoor terrace is a fabulous place to have a drink in the sun and has it's own bar outside with table service. Definitely worth a visit!

Friendly staff and as it was a late meal for our group thought it be quiet. Was fairly constant and service did take a while. Nice atmosphere and selection of food and drink. Special on steak was quite good and the rest of our group were very complimentary about the prices and food quality. Bill mistake was sorted without too much problem so good customer service. Could maybe do with some more staff for faster service although food arrived quite timely. All of our group plan on visiting again.
